This diner is amazing! I've gotten the lumber Jack French toast twice and it's delicious. Warning they call it lumber Jack for a reason - I've never been able to finish it. My friends and I came here for brunch. One of friend is a long time customer since Good Eats Diner opened. The staff was very affable and attentive. The environment was very nice. I ordered the Russian breakfast. Wow, it was more than I expected. I couldn't finish my beans. My friends ordered items in the brunch section. They also could finished their dishes, too. I have eaten at this diner before and I can honestly say the food is soo delicious, but when it comes to the service is is god awful. Just today I walk in to the diner and I am greeted as soon as I walked in, so I figured they would bring us some menus, boy was I WRONG!, I waited almost 10 minutes and still no menu. I got up and walked over to the counter and served myself and my company menus. Once we decided what we wanted to eat, we all stacked our our menus at the edge of the table to show the waiter we are ready to order, we waited another 10 Minutes, mind you there were only two other tables being occupied during all of this. Which I wanna say is not to much of a load on a single waiter. I really want to give this place a good score but the staff has to do some major reorganization. I've been looking forward to this place opening up for awhile. I ordered delivery last night and it got there pretty quickly. I ordered a cheeseburger deluxe and a vanilla shake. The shake arrived thick and cold (very impressed considering it was almost 90 degrees out), it was pretty good. My burger was very good, liked the meat, the seasoning, the cheese and the choice of bun. The burger itself was a little too big for my taste, I wish it was a just a bit smaller. I had to cut it in half (cross section), because I just couldn't eat that much, a bit overpowering. I liked the cole slaw a lot as well. I am sad to say I am not a fan of the fries. It was that style of fry with that certain texture (think Burger King sorta) that I just don't really care for. Steak fries or crinkle cut would be a better choice or maybe tater tots. I look forward to eating in at Good Eats, there menu is huge and there is lots of stuff for me to try, maybe they can get another star or two out of me. read more

We really need a good diner in Elmhurst. Georgia Diner serves mediocre food for too high of a price. Yelp helped me find Good Eats Diner. Their breakfast menu is so yummy and they serve huge portions. We have to drive or take the bus from where we are even though we're walking distance from Georgia Diner. It's totally worth the travel! This review is exclusively for their salads... they are ginormous and satisfying on every level! My fiance discovered this hidden salad gem while working at a nearby establishment. The salad menu is extensive so if you are in the mood for a hearty salad, there is bound to be one that you like. Their house dressing is mustard-based and absolutely divine. I am taking off just one star because they don't chop up your salad unless you ask, but when you are starving that's the last thing you are thinking about! (maybe the waiters should suggest it when ppl are ordering?) They tend to get super packed so I would suggest checking the menu before you arrive so you can order ASAP as the wait can take a while. read more

Good Eats, This diner was formally Newport Diner, out with the old in with the new, literally. The reinventing of the diner had brought more and younger costumers. The food and decor is sublime, unfortunately the service (at this instance) was horrendous. But i can't give a bad rating just because someone isn't doing their job. Some of the old staff still work there, they are nice and friendly, but one of the new waiters had an off day. It's the little things that count, like kindness and maybe a smile. We were seated where we waited a tad bit to long to place our order, usually water is the first thing on the table, but not here. It's as if we had to order the water ourselves (which we did), and after that he never returned to refill our water. It came to the point where I had get up and went over to one of the old employees and requested some water. He, nicely, returned to my table with a big glass of water (as he said a tall glass for a tall guy) which was nice. I won't be back anytime soon. The chocolate chip pancakes were delicious (comes in a stack of 3), and I only had hafl of it before I was full. I was in a party of 2 on a Sunday (around noon) and service was fast, we got seated right away. I've had this place bookmarked on Yelp for awhile, so I was excited to try it today. I had the peasant pan omelette, which was bacon, tomatoes, onions, and I subbed out the mozzarella cheese for cheddar. It was HUGE, and really tasty. I also ordered 1 banana walnut pancake to share (as opposed to the 3 that come in a full order). I really liked it, the hubby not so much. The coffee was good, I would've liked it to be a little stronger, but certainly not terrible. Our waiter Juan, was fantastic. Very attentive and friendly. The easiest thing to make it's a challenge for the chef. The service is slow and not very interested at the customers. I order 5 things and only got 3. I sat at the bar because tables were full. I was thinking I'll get better service there also, I was wrong. The server was never behind the bar. When my bagel came I knew right away that it was a grocery store old bagel. Really? It's NYC home of the best bagels in the world and you serve that shame. Anyway, when the plate of my partner came with the home fries I was thinking it's gonna be good for how it looked. I was wrong. A bunch of tasteless boil potatoes with sparks of bell pepper and that's it. No second chances for this place. Bad service and bad food. If you like this place try something else. Breakfast was very good. The French toast was the largest that I've ever seen, yet it didn't lack for flavor. Plenty of bacon was served with it as well. The cheese omelette was big & tasty.
