9/30/2024 @ 9:06 am - Upon checking out at station 5 by cashier #142, she boldly stated that my son and I were standing there doing nothing, and that we could have used that time to bag the groceries with the two bags we purchased. I asked her if grocery bagging was no longer a part of their service. Cashier #142 said you are not old or disabled, especially since your son is young and is just standing there doing nothing. I asked her to define disability, how she could tell if my son is not disabled, and why customers who paid for the groceries deserve a scolding from her. She continued to complain while bagging the groceries. I will be making a formal complaint to the store about discrimination.

This place is definitely no H-Mart, but for those that are looking for a quick item or two to grab specifically in an Asian Market, this place will do the job. It's definitely cleaner than Green Market in El Monte, so I'll give that a bonus star as a start. They've got a lot of the items that I've been seeing on Tik tok, for example the instant hot pot and the canned boba as well some Ube items, which if you wanna learn thing about me, Ube has my heart. I came with my mom who ordered some fish and produce to cook at home along with some Asian medicine which you can't find at any other traditional American markets. Again, this place isn't the best, but for those Asian delicacies that you're looking for, it works.

    Faded expiration date.

We bought the item from here. While at home we realized that a faded details of the product read - "best before 06/24/2023." It's scratch up on the front side of bag where the faded details compared to the back of the bag. That item was on sale. Health inspection department do check Yelp right?

This is a good market. Not great, but solid choice especially if you live nearby. Pretty middle of the road and gets the job done.

I usually get: Salmon, Toro, Yellowtail, Scallops, and Oysters. If available, uni trays and fresh wasabi (which can also be picked up at HMart). Scallops are my favorite but every piece of fish is so good and cut perfectly. Parking and pick up is easy. It is a very small store front with one party inside at a time and pay at the counter. Highly recommend for party platters for fresh sashimi.

So already an eh sign. Walked in & just started looking around to see if I found anything to try. I did not but also came in with a list of items I wanted already & I only found 1 item on that list. I asked 3 people on the floor if they knew where this was or that was, & no one knew where anything was or spoke any English. So myself including them were all confused lol The whole store smelt like fish, which okay I get they have a whole section dedicated to fresh fish / sushi bowls served but wow it was a strong smell throughout the whole store. Made this trip really quick. Decided to cut it early, I left with a bag of chips & a ramen for lunch & chose to get the heck out of there lol The cashier hayde did not greet me or anything either! So no customer service, just started ringing my items & asked if I needed a bag lol So yeah overall not the best first time overall experience ! I will say the ramen I chose is yummy! Very spicy but good choice. Maybe I need to go with someone who knows what they're doing, so change my mind on this store cause of right now I would probably never come back lol

The staff here are generally friendly and very helpful, and work hard to get you what you want. Do not assume that something will have the same taste and texture as what you remember from hometown just because it looks similar. I once bought frozen razor clams that turned out to be chewy, smelly, and almost impossible to chew. Another time, I bought a bag of frozen green mussels. They had exactly the same shape and color as the ones I usually bought from Chinese markets, but they were not cooked. Once defrosted, they practically melted into water. Vietnamese markets also sell many kinds of fish by weight. Most of them are good, but you need real experience when buying raw seafood. Otherwise, it is very easy to waste money. Thuan Phat is a typical Vietnamese market in this sense. You can get most of the ingredients a Chinese family needs. Their fried or dried pork skin is actually much better than what I have found in most Chinese grocery stores. But again, only buy what you know. You need to know the quality, and you need to know how to process it. This Thuan Phat also has several tanks and a full seafood counter for live seafood, including crabs, tilapia, and other fish. The prices are lower than at many Chinese markets, and honestly, the quality is not bad at all.
