Our parents' house got on fire and GoodLife was recommended by our public adjuster GreenSpan. The project took a little longer to finish due to various reasons. But, we got it done. I am happy with them on a lot of things...their workmanship, not cutting corners and always addressed our concern promptly...just to list a few. Working with this place was a nightmare. They were assigned by my insurance, and took 12 days to drop dry out equipment for a flood. I believe it's required to do so within 2. Unprofessional, non communicative. They left behind a terrible mess, huge construction staples in unaffected walls and ceilings. Left my daughter's mattress in garage without being wrapped. Spoke to me about apparent "he said she said" [their words] when the man in charge of my file failed to tell me they'd be completely clearing out all rooms effected by flood instead of just the areas during initial inspection. When insurance decided it was best to be taken off my job, they promised a pickup of equipment same day only to TEXT me they'd come next morning. Sent insurance half a report when all was said and done, so I'm still going back and forth with both homeowners insurance and new contractors because of this companies lack of follow through and professionalism. Greetings Yelpers! I wanted to post an updated review as my last one was posted 12/2024 and everything was 5 stars then. Today I am proud to say GoodLife 100% deserves above 5 stars because not only was the new construction impeccable but it was done an entire 5 months sooner than anticipated. I don't even know where to start but maybe with a recap of events: my home was deemed a total loss from a fire that started in the rear of my home and then went into the entire attic in 11/2024. I met up with several contractors, Good Life Rep, David Méndez was phenomenal and stood out. We picked Goodlife because they were the most informational and detailed. We then met with Leo Pitsul our project manager. He sat us down, went through the entire estimated insurance coverage for repairs and again answered all of our questions with absolute ease. We felt very comfortable with Leo as helped us navigate through the construction side of this. Construction started immediately in 1/2025. My fiance' and I visited the house every weekend to observe the process and let me tell you these guys were on it. We received weekly updates via email and everything they updated was exactly what was done on the property. They were very nimble and attentive with our requests, questions, or concerns, I genuinely never felt like I wasn't being heard. They broke down exactly what was expected of us and provided all the clarity we needed. Leo walked the entire house with as it was being built ensuring us of what was being built, changed, updated etc. He went as far as letting us know when we start appliance shopping! And coordinated our deliveries and everything. On the 4th of July we we're handed the keys! The pictures I have do not do it justice but I am 100% in love with the results. Everything has been done to the highest standard. They have been open and continuously asking us of anything is missing and is everything working. We did not and still do not feel like we were just handed off this house with no follow up. I am very grateful to Good Life Restoration. I also want to give a special shout out to Leo's assistant Peter, he was such a great help with all of the residual repairs the house needed toward the end. Amazing customer service! I just want to double down on my 5 star review. Yesterday we had a small issue with a irrigation valve leak. This was 2 years after our home was rebuilt after a house fire. They sent somebody out on the very same day to take care of the problem and checked all of the valves to make sure they were in working order. It's so nice to see customer service on this level. It took me some time to write this review because my journey with Goodlife was truly unique. Two years ago, my home was destroyed in a storm when two oak trees fell on it, leaving it uninhabitable. Initially, I hired a different company to handle the rebuild, but the process was full of issues and delays. From the very start, Goodlife was honest, transparent, and incredibly supportive. I felt an immediate connection with them. Throughout the entire process, they were with me every step of the way, always gracious and understanding. During this time, my life took an unexpected and devastating turn. My husband of 41 years became very ill and passed away. With my children living far away--one in a different state and another in a different country--I found myself alone. But Goodlife became so much more than just a contractor; they became a part of my family. They didn't just focus on rebuilding my house--they made sure I was okay. They asked how they could help, listened when I needed to talk, and treated me with incredible compassion. Mark, in particular, went above and beyond to fight for me. My downtown Sacramento condo was damaged by a second floor plumbing failure that flooded the house for over 10 hours before the water was turned off. Needless to say, the entire unit was impacted. We used these guys after this crazy winter last year created lots of damage. We were originally using another contractor who was not helpful at all and didn't understand how to work with insurance. There were quite a number of things on my bucket list ranging from repairing a water heater to carpet to painting to drywall and flooring... they handled it all, and always checked with me to make sure the work was the correct, it was ok move things or if it was OK to wear boots in the house. I would overall highly recommend Good Life Fire Restoration. We needed a major repair including foundation work after a fire in the back portion of our house. Their work was overall of high quality. They did have some internal restructuring during the work on our house project which resulted in a turn over of general managers. We had three different general managers which got a lot little confusing. But I think things are more stable there now and hopefully that will no longer be an issue. The last general manager we had, Andrey Nikulin was exceptionally responsive, excellent with communication and a pleasure to work with. We had a garage fire after owning for only 1 month and we put all of our trust in GoodLife restoration company to fix our home. I'll start with that. This is not my trade of work, I was constantly pointing out flaws and things being missed. In my eyes a customer should not be telling a trained professional how to do their job! I would bring up my concerns to the foreman on my job and I felt like they were disregarded like I didn't know what I was talking about. The whole time I was told it will be a quick and easy fix. Four months later we are still not done with mitigating the smoke odor and yet my house has already got new insulation in the attic along with the walls and it was never smoke sealed!!! There are also things like walls that had already been approved to open up to see if the smoke damaged that area and it was completely disregarded. Another question I had asked is if the wiring in my house was ok and GoodLife Restoration said its not a concern and not to worry about it. After some research it is a fire hazard to spray the wires with smoke seal as GoodLife did in my home!! Ive had enough with fires for 1 lifetime, I do not need my contractor leaving me with another opportunity to go through this again. With warm spring weather now here when I walk in the home all I smell is smoke! I feel completely taken advantage of!! I was supposed to be planning for a wedding with my fiancé and now I cant put my efforts where they belong because I'm worried my home might not ever get fixed!!!! read more
