I went to Good Liquid on a Sunday afternoon, wanting to just grab a beer, wasn't looking to eat. I went to the hostess stand where I just wanted to quickly ask if I could grab a beer and sit outside. The hostess, or possibly manager, asked the people in front of me if they had been helped to which they said yes. I thought it would be a good opportunity to ask my quick question. After I said hi, she told me that she'll be with in just a moment. After she sat the 2 groups in front of me, she went ahead and looked at my husband and asked he we could be helped. Sadly, she didn't give me any attention or courtesy because I'm a minority. Instead, she turned her attention to my white husband. I'm appalled at the latent racism encountered at this first and last visit. read more

Good Liquid Brewery was fantastic. The hostess who seated us was friendly and enthusiastic which is hard to find lately. Our server, Sutherland was very personable, efficient, and made great menu recommendations. The food tasted like it was made with fresh ingredients, not your usual restaurant/bar food. $13.50 for a build your own burger that was as large (single thin pre-made patty maybe from a box) as a kids burger at a fast food joint., over run with condiments using a strong brown mustard. Ask the server if the meal was correct or if I had received a kids meal when served and the response was lacking given a shrugged shoulders response. I expected to hear from the Manager but never did. Second meal here that was terrible. Customer service is lacking as well. I wish I had taken a photo but I did not unfortunate this meal was a total disappointment and rip off. read more

The food and drinks were good. We had a southwest salad and 2 apps- pretzels with cheese and the chicken croquettes. The hostesses were not very friendly. It was 1:15 pm and I asked for outside seating and was told none available except a high top ( we have a toddler). We walked out to look at the water for my son and there were about 8 tables open. I asked and she said they were not available. We sat to eat inside and even more tables became available by the time we left -an hour later. I understand people do not show for some reservations but at least have a policy to give up the table after some time. It does not look good. We came to sit outside and relax a little while checking out the area and houses. That being said, our waiter was awesome and drinks were fabulous. I had a non alcoholic berry refresher which was great and my husband had the tropical wheat beer. I hope they fix this little blip because experience is everything!! Very nice setting on the outdoor deck. Excellent service--staff was super friendly. LOVE LOVE LOVE that they have multiple sour beers on tap which were all really good. We had the chicken croquettes and avocado egg rolls. Both were really good and so filling that we didn't order any other food. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu! I have been to this spot at least 7/8 times in 4 months.Food & drink are great but one female bartender is in the wrong industry-not by a little bit either. Scowling at everyone last couple visits. She is not even the main issue. The bar at front of house here is about 18' long. The sides at probably 8/9'. They've decided to sparsely furnish the long section with 5 stools. If a child was shed if another stool went in this area they would answer yes 100% of the time. Multiple people arrived asking to pull up another stool and the scowler told them no-against the rules. I was sitting by myself and had no dog in the fight. Asked how many stools should be on this section of the bar? She said it varies. She not only had no idea if one was missing or if someone could squeeze in but was curt in her responses. One of her coworkers with a bit more experience kept redirecting customers who thought that extra space was a spot to order drinks to walk away with to another corner of the bar while frustrating potential bar sitting guests. I have visited Good Liquid on 5-6 occasions with my wife. I have a limited diet due to health restrictions (can't eat dairy or meat) and up until my last visit they were very accommodating. They have a shrimp and crab cake sandwich for $18, but since the cake has mayonnaise I asked if they would substitute a salmon instead. They agreed and just charged me the $18. I've ordered this sandwich 4 times and each time there was no issue and I was charged the $18. The treatment I received on my last visit was absolutely insulting. The server actually remembered me and knew of my custom sandwich. It was ordered, and I ate the sandwich. Then I get a bill and was charged $28 for the sandwich!!!! I immediately called for the manager whose name is Rachael P. I explained the situation calmly and said that I have been here and ordered this several times prior with no issue. She could care less about what I was given in the past. She said there is an upcharge. I said that $28 fore a fish sandwich is ridiculous. No restaurants charge that. Even the Lakewood Ranch CC charges $18. She still wouldn't budge. I told her that given the circumstances that I should be charged the $18 but from this point forward that pricing cannot be allowed, because it's inappropriate to just surprise a customer after pricing it this way in prior visits. Again she stated she doesn't care about what was done in the past. When I said $10 is ridiculous, she then said that she could charge $7 as the upcharge instead of $10. So explain this to me. If I get a salad it's the price of the salad. If I want to add salmon it's the upcharge, so I get the full salad + the fish added. In my instance I order the crab/shrimp cake but ask for the salmon instead. They take the cake away (so I don't get the sandwich...just the bun) but they still charge me $18 + the upcharge. ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE. Rachael P has absolutely no customer service skills and should not be employed as a manager! A true shame, as the servers there have way more customer service skills than her. The server who knew me from previous visits was very apologetic. Not only will my wife and I never be going back here, we will make it a point to convince all of our friends to avoid this place as well! read more

GLB-LWR is a great addition to the LWR community. For our first visit last weekend, the atmosphere, furnishings, and vibe are all very pleasant. Our appetizers were excellent. I'm dinging one star for the burgers but the management can fix this. The restaurant only makes "smash burgers" and our waiter told us they are only cooked medium to well done. We figured they would come out more medium but unfortunately our burgers were woefully over cooked and were so dry that the literally fell apart into little pieces as we ate. In addition, the fries were soggy and undercooked. The kitchen just needs to take more time/care with their preparations. But with all this said, we really enjoyed our first visit so, management, please take my feedback as constructive criticism because I really want you to be successful in this location. We need fun and vibrant places like this and Waterside Place is a great place for this restaurant/brewery. read more
