One of my good friends and I were anxious to visit Alexandria K's coffee place located downtown Waterloo IL. To say we have a local country star from one of our near by towns, is quite the obvious. Let's chat about her coffee shop. The Coffee Girl, is not just your run of the mill shop. Yes- you can get coffee! Did you know they have smoothies too?! I bet not, because I sure didn't. They are running their winter menu currently. Whether that's pancakes, waffles, or a gingerbread latte. You will have access to their regular menu too. We both ordered the same meal. The all American. Comes egg, meat, potatoes, and toast. They will ask how you want your eggs, fried or hashbrowns ( potatoes), meat ( sausage, bacon, turkey sausage, or ham) , toast ( sourdough, wheat/white, English muffin, or biscuit. The drinks we did different. I'm a sucker for themed menu drinks. I tried the gingerbread latte, it didn't disappoint at all. I got the medium size. You can get it in a mug or Togo cup. My friend had the dirty chai. The sourdough toast was nice!! the eggs we ordered differently too. I like mine scrambled and hers are more sunny side or medium. Let's backtrack a little. So first off can we talk about the look and feel of the shop. It's very cute. Love the floral design on the outside. It runs up the side of the building up to the signage. ( by the way they have outside seating at the front) Those same flowers are used in the ceiling with a chandelier as you walk down the corridor to the ladies and men's restroom. When you walk inside. To th right is the boutique/order to go drinks or other items for purchase. To the left is the seating area. Which by the way our waitress was very nice and attentive. Making sure everyone was topped off on coffees and waters. Loved the vintage yet modern seating and color scheme. Alex you outdid yourself on this place! We loved going and happy we waited.

Everything we loved about the old Bean Tree Café- with a fresh, fun, feminine twist. I came here with my two daughters, one a major lover of all things girly and pink, and the other not so much. But both girls left completely satisfied- the food was amazing! It was lunchtime, and I ordered the smash burger and fries- it was all hot, fresh, and seasoned perfectly. The girls got a variety of breakfast items: eggs, bacon, grilled cheese, and fries. The house-made ranch was great! We love that they have a kids' menu with kid-sized portions and everything made to order (so they could add bacon, cheese, whatever their little hearts desired). And the coffee! I ordered one of the fall specials, the S'mores Mocha, and it was a whole experience! Coffee and dessert in one. We came on a busier day (the day after Thanksgiving), but we were able to sign the notepad and be seated after a 10-15 minute wait. The girls enjoyed the pink couches, decorations, and Alexandra Kay merch. The staff members were all so kind and helpful, even bringing my girls their drinks (with lids!) while we waited for our table. We will be back. I'd love to get the friends together for a ladies' brunch here some time! Galentine's anyone? :)

When I drove up, I knew this was going to be a special place. The front of the building is absolutely adorable, and looks like a doll house. It's pink with a lot of floral decor. There is street parking available. They have steps or a ramp to enter the establishment. The bathrooms are cute and very clean, but I'm not sure if they have a disabled accessible restroom. The hallway to the bathroom is very narrow. I arrived about 30 minutes before they closed. I didn't get any coffee as I had already hit my caffeine limit for the day. I did observe them making some delicious looking, frozen coffee drinks. I decided on some cookie butter beignets. Yummy! This is a great spot to hang out with your girlfriends.

What a vibe! I always love visiting Waterloo, it's the most charming small town. This is a great new addition! The girly decor makes this coffee shop a go-to spot for a girls day out and makes for a perfect photo-op (i watched so many people snapping photos around the whole building). I think the fact Alexandra Kay revamped this spot to give love back to her hometown makes it even more special, you can tell a lot of passion was out into this coffee shop. Not to mention the coffees are INCREDIBLE! We recently stopped in to grab two of their seasonal drinks, the cherry cobbler cold brew and pumpkin pie latte, they were both spot on for flavors and well made! I am hoping to dine in and try the food next time, the menu sounds amazing!

Pink, pink, pink! This place is absolutely gorgeous and well worth a visit to check out by yourself or with friends. The floral and pink aesthetic is pleasant and every employee working there was so kind and friendly. Happiness exudes from this coffee shop. I spent an hour enjoying my to-go drink working in their co-working space and can't wait to return to experience the sit down restaurant side. Their food menu has my favorites from Bean Tree so I can't wait to return with my family for a yummy brunch.

I came here on a Friday morning with some co workers. First impressions the place is super cute and pink, which we loved! We had to wait at least 30 minutes for a table for our group of 6. After being seated we got service pretty quick, which was nice. All of the coffee drinks were super good. I got the drink of the month and I really enjoyed it! To eat I got the eggs Benedict and a stack of blueberry lemon pancakes. The eggs Benedict was okay. It had like a weird watery flavor to it, so I wouldn't recommend. The blueberry lemon pancakes were DELICIOUS!! I loved them and was super happy I got a side of them. I would recommend getting the pancakes.

Wanted to eat at Bean Tree Cafe, but arrived to find the Coffee Girl. Weird. The vibe is much different. Not as down home; more refined and feminine. My daughter loved it, while we boys missed the old place. Fortunately, the food was the same as before, and the service was great. I ordered the eggs Benedict and really enjoyed it. I'd come back, even though I wish it were still Bean Tree.

Looking for a super cute, girly, and delightfully delicious coffee shop? Check out coffee girl in Waterloo!

If you're anywhere near Waterloo, Illinois, you have to make a stop at the Coffee Girl Café. From the moment you pull up, you'll be struck by the charming exterior--busting with flowery pinks and that mural wall, it is cozy, and full of personality and feminine energy IYKYK. And once you step inside? The decor is just as beautiful, with a warm and welcoming vibe from the staff that makes you want to settle in and stay a while. Let's talk food: the menu is full of delicious options, but the lemon blueberry pancakes deserve a standing ovation. Bright, fluffy, and bursting with flavor, they're the kind of dish you'll be dreaming about long after the last bite. Whether you're there for breakfast, lunch, or a coffee break, everything is thoughtfully made and beautifully presented. Coffee lovers, take note: not only can you get fresh-brewed cup and specialities, you can also grab some of their signature blends to take home. It's the perfect way to bring a little piece of Coffee Girl Café into your daily routine. And of course, for fans of Alexandra Kay, this café is a pilgrimage-worthy destination for food, merchandise and if you're lucky you may see AK behind the counter ringing folks up. But you don't have to be a fan to fall in love with the place--it's a PERFECT spo for foodies, coffee enthusiasts, and anyone who appreciates good vibes and great hospitality.

First time going to The Coffee Girl since Bean Tree. A lot of change I mean inside they remodel everything from outside to inside. More nice and beautiful. Both feel like elevated, unexpected gems in a small town. I ordered the fried chicken dinner with the half chicken portion, and it was absolutely delicious. The chicken was juicy and flavorful with perfectly crispy, crunchy skin. The service was excellent, and our waitstaff was friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout the evening. The restaurant itself was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. The restrooms were also spotless and well maintained. It is clear that a lot of care goes into every aspect of the guest experience. My only minor criticism is the size of the drink glasses. Once ice is added, there is not much room left for the actual beverage. My parents found themselves needing refills more frequently than they typically would at other restaurants. It was not a major issue, but slightly larger glasses might make things more convenient for both guests and staff. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and will definitely be back. The prices are very reasonable. When we asked about specialty coffee drinks, our server showed us an electronic tablet-- we had to pass it around to read our options. They were all very sweet concoctions named for desserts, and the ones my companions chose were indeed so pumped with syrup and flavors and sprinkles that the taste of coffee was nowhere to be found. Our food was just fine. The waffle was sweet and fluffy. The Berry Salad was exactly as described: iceberg, lettuce, berries, pecans. The berries were fresh; the chicken was heavily seasoned (mostly salty and saturated) and the poppyseed dressing was very sweet. The quiche had plenty of spinach in it but was rather rubbery (I know quiche can be tricky-- it has a really long cooking time so it can't be made to order, and rewarming does it no favors) and the potato soup was okay. Both the salad and the quiche/soup combo had a croissant on the side; they seemed similar to the ones purchased by the dozen at Costco. Mine seemed dry on the outside with a faint moldy taste in the bottom. The patio was very pleasant, and inside looked cozy. The staff did a great job of making everyone feel welcome and keeping our glasses refilled and such. There's a big parking lot adjacent, though many of the spots say they're reserved for a different business. I saw that high chairs are available. Gendered restrooms are inside. So perhaps we'll visit again, however, if there weren't so many positive reviews we would never go back. Our coffee flight was probably the worst we've ever had. They were supposed to be iced but came out lukewarm and burnt tasting. We couldn't taste a difference in any of the flavors-likely because it was so burnt tasting that's all we could taste. Neither of us liked our food. My husband's pancakes were dry and he said they tasted like they had been microwaved. My healthy bowl tasted like mostly old/not fresh ingredients. The Brussel sprouts were supposed to be shaved, but were instead halved and appeared/tasted like they were from the prior day. The Parmesan cheese was also prepackaged and not freshly grated, and for the price we paid ($50+) we didn't expect to be served food low-quality food. The only picture I took was of our coffee. Our server did the bare minimum. They weren't rude, but also weren't friendly. We ran out of Cholula sauce and she grabbed one from another table with people sitting there. Overall a very poor experience. Based completely on this one experience we would never return.
