What happened to this place? For years, I've ordered from here. It's sad to think that this place has gone down in quality and they're not taking heat to the feedback being given. Chicken lo mein -- This was one of my favorite dishes. Now, I barely got any chicken, has quite a bit of oil, and TONS of soy sauce, making it excruciatingly salty. It's literally burning my lips with how much salt this dish has from the soy sauce. In the past, they used to have plenty of chicken in it, and it was not oily or drenched in soy sauce. Vegetable Spring Roll -- Nit as good as it used to be. Quality is going down. I hope they take heed to all the feedback because I cannot continue to order my favorite dishes that are no longer favorites at this place. Please do better! read more

3.5 stars but rounding uo due to excellent customer service and good value with respect to the local competition. The Woodbridge area is not a hotbed for authentic Chinese cuisine so even though they offer some dishes that sound on paper to be less Chinese American like wonton noodle soup with roast pork (a Cantonese classic), it ended up being a mishmash of leftover stir fried veggies with lo mein noodles rather than the signature thin egg noodles and the wonton filling used a cheap cut of minced pork. The only saving grace was that the broth was not laden with MSG, which would have been expected to substitute for a well simmered broth. My advice is to stick with the Chinese American classics like lo mein, beef and broccoli, general Tao's chicken, etc since they execute them well and give two scoops of rice with a lunch special proving $7.95. I think they keep their costs down since it is curbside pickup without delivery or dine in, a consequence post-pandemic which they never decided to reverse. An excellent option if you want solid Chinese -American fare at below market price in the style of a drug deal pickup. read more

What went wrong? Everything, No kidding. I reviewed Good Taste Express' review of 4 and then its menu. Next, I drove there to find the door was locked, and I had to call in my order from outside. So, I ordered vegetable fried rice, Szechuan chicken, and a spring roll. I did not enjoy anything. The chicken was chewy, and its sauce was too salty. The vegetables and rice were not fresh; and the spring roll tasted like it was store bought and frozen. Sorry, I am just being honest. I am sure they had a good reason for locking their doors; and I respect this. However, they need to ask customers what type of condiments they want and not assume a hand full of soy sauce to the already salty food. read more

Based on the reviews I was excited to try something new. First of all. No DINE IN as of this review. Only take out. The prices are fair I feel for the amount of food. Crab ragoons were that great. Had a sautéed onion taste which was unique but not what I expected. Had the sweet and sour chicken. Sauce was on the side and very vinagre flavor. Chicken was breaded heavy and fried to much for my taste. Very few veggies. Fried rice was what kept this review dropping below a three. Wife had the general Tso chicken. The chicken was off the chart but the flavoring was bitter and lacked other flavors. You get a veggie roll with your meal which was nice. Probably won't go back. read more

Needed to grab dinner close by and wanted some Chinese food so we picked this place based off reviews and just general good things about it. Learned from their site that due to Covid that they downsized and don't do dine in or delivery, only curbside pickup. We called and they also let us know that since they're only doing curbside, they take payment over the phone as well as in person. We ordered General Tso's Chicken, Beef & Broccoli, Egg Drop Soup, and Hot and Sour Soup and was told it would only take 15 minutes. We came and were a little confused about pickup since there were no specific signs to pull up to the front or a certain parking spot. I eventually walked up to the front door about to call when someone came out and handed me my order. Person that came out was super friendly though, I believe the same guy who took my order. The food was your typical takeout Chinese food. Really solid, no complaints. Looking like this might be my new go to Chinese spot in Woodbridge. I have had many experiences trying out Chinese restaurant in Lorton, Woodbridge & Dumfries. My order typically would be the same, Lo Mein and Fried Rice. I barely order anything else because I'm have never had it right if I order other than rice & noodle lol ; my 5 stars review is not for all the food in the menu, they are for the Fried Rice and Lo Mein :) This place has the most legit Lo Mein & Fried Rice flavor in the PWC. I've tried Chinese restaurant from Rt 1 to Dumfries to Montclair even few in Fairfax. I didn't expect their fried rice is to be 8 out 10 compare to what I had from many places in PWC. Yes many, in Rt.1 alone you know how many Chinese restaurant are there lol . The texture is exactly how fried rice should look. Not mushy and sticky and not too greasy. Just right. I wish I found this gem long time ago. Now that I'm moving from the area, I'm gonna miss their Fried Rice & Lo Mein :) Regarding to C19 precautions, they are also taking it seriously. Without a doubt, the best Chinese restaurant on the east end of Prince William County. Family owned and operated by a Chinese family who prepare the food and take pride in the food they serve to their loyal customers. Food is always fresh and pricing is competitive with other restaurants in the area. Mainly takeout but limited seating is available . They have beautiful pictures of China Town in DC which are obviously taken by a professional photographer. Such a beautiful setting for those dining inside the restaurant. read more

Despite the posted hours saying they are open and the illuminated 'open' sign being on, the windows are covered in opaque plastic bags, the doors are locked, power off and no one in sight, and you are supposed to 'call to order'. We love Good Taste Express Chinese at 13564 Minnieville Road in Woodbridge! The whole family that owns and runs this place is just a great group of incredible people.  They are so friendly, so genuine, so helpful, and somehow always remembers our order just by the sound of our voice on the phone. Everything they serve here is delicious.  They really do it all right.  From noodles, to soups, to some of the traditional American Chinese dishes, everything is truly superb here. They provide a nice dining area if you want to relax and enjoy the meal, the provide carryout, and also delivery in the immediate Woodbridge area. We visit Good Taste Express Chinese at least once every couple of weeks.  They so far are the best Carry Out Chinese in Woodbridge we have found.  Love Them! read more

The food has so much flavor here so we keep coming back. The only recommendation we have is to add a few more dumplings and some substance to the wonton soup. I've ordered here 3times and I can easily say that I'm never disappointed. They have food on the menu that other carryout places in Woodbridge do not have such as salt and pepper squid that I was missing and love. Also, their delivery is very fast. I'm giving 4.5 instead of 5 because the Shredded beef is not really Shredded. The carrots and celery are a little bit too long. The noodle soups doesn't have too much noodles if sharing with the whole family of 4 but it has a lot of toppings which is excellent. Another thing I love in here is the pan fried noodles. The house one has beef, chicken and shrimp. It is delicious. The pad Thai has a lot of shrimp and also a big plus. Thank you for the pan fried noodle and the squid! :) read more

Phone order was easily placed, they brought it out curbside when we arrived. Returned home and the food was still warm and well packaged in a mix of the standard containers, plastic bowls, and styrofoam boxes. Price was fair. While the food was good, other reviews and claims of being the "best" in Northern VA set expectations high. Perhaps those reviews set the bar too high as I was expecting fresher components in my beef/broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, dumplings and lo mein. Called in an order of Shrimp fried rice on 4-8-20...Picked up my order at the curb with no problems. This was my second purchase there with the first one about 2 years ago. I can't express how disappointed l was with my order which was a simple one. First of all my order was missing the bits of onions that usually accompany an order of chinese food. Secondly my shrimp were either over cooked or reheated as they were borderline chewy and dry... They also LACKED any flavor that usually accompanies an order of shrimp if you are familiar with those dishes. I can understand with doing carryout only at this time and you can cook fried rice ahead and keep fairly moist but you can't do this with shrimp..... besides, how long does it take to cook shrimp direct from a refrigerator? I was truly disappointed but had no choice of chinese carryout as my regular one, located on Minnieville Rd. At Dale Blvd was not a swearing their phone so l assumed they were closed, which surprised me...Oh well! read more

They don't have dine in and they don't deliver. One order they gave us the wrong food but we didn't realize it until we got home and didn't want to have to go out again. I called. The lady said, "You say Hunan chicken!" We have never ordered that so I insisted. She offered to comp us on the next order. Two weeks later we ordered again. We were 20 minutes early and they told us that. We said ok and just sat in our cars. We didn't say anything else. When the lady came out, she literally started yelling at us. "I don't make General Tso's Tofu no more! Too much work. I say 45 minutes. We busy. You rush! You no hurry, I make. No more General Tso's tofu. You hurry too much!" She repeated these phrases 6 times. We didn't hurry. Yes, we were early, but we also waited quietly. As a customer, I've never been berated by the person handing me the food before. With a name like Good Taste Express, Good Taste is tasting good. In just a few short weeks it has become my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. Quite literally a Mom and Pop, Mom takes your order and Pops drops it off. The menu is a bit smaller then most of the other restaurants in the area, but that's why I wanted to try it. Smaller menu means better focus. So what have I tried: General Tso Chicken - a really good version, won't say it's the best I've ever had, but it is up there. Beef on a stick - now this is the best version I've had. The lemongrass flavor comes through and tender as can be. Egg Drop Soup - very solid version of a classic. Chef's Special Chicken - this is the bomb, very similar to General Tsos or Orange Chicken, yet much mo' better. Lo Mein - again a common dish, but Good Tastes version is my favorite, just tastes a step above like most of their dishes. Not only has everything I've tried been delicious but the portions are huge! Yes portions from Chinese restaurants are huge...but from Good Taste they give you what you order. When you order General Tso you get General Tso, not broccoli and a few pieces of chicken. No here you get chicken with a few pieces of broccoli. The Lo Mein alone could probably feed me for 3 to 4 meals. All in all support this place. Only thing bumming me out is that they have a beef stew with thick noodle on the menu that I have not been able to try. Never seen that on a Chinese menu before!
