Ordered pick up based on the reviews. I ordered general tso chicken and crab rangoons. The generals tso was pretty good. The sauce wasn't as sweet as I'm used to from other places. Now the crab Rangoon were the worst I've had. The wrapper was super thick more eggroll style definitely not the crab Rangoons I'm used to and definitely overcooked and barely any filling. read more

My first visit at this restaurant. Clean establishment. Service I was provided was okay. Order was ready within 15 minutes (which should have alerted me). Good amount of food was provided. I ordered the General Tso Chicken with fried rice. The rice was dry and not flavorful. The chicken was not fresh. The sauce was flavorful, thick and sticky. The price on the menu that is provided in the restaurant is not accurate or up to date. I'm not sure if I'll visit this location again. read more

I've come to order here before many times! I don't make a bother when things are wrong. I just eat it. This time around I order via phone - shrimp fried rice - no soy sauce - I was told it was yunhczhao style so I added that on. Emphasizing no soy sauce and extra onions. So because the order taker wasn't sure - instead of calling me - she decided for me and ordered me combination fried rice. I called to let them know my concern - the order taker picked up my call again told her what I got - and then instead of making it right, she said "No, you didn't tell me you wanted shrimp." I'm like livid. I am usually the first person to admit I did something wrong! But - I knew that because I was saying something new I made sure to repeat - that it was shrimp. Customer recommendation: Listening skills are crucial in the food and hospitality industry and yes - Chinese restaurants fall under that! You want to keep long term customers and their family and friends coming - make it right unless it's unusually high priced. I want the former order taker from before. She was patient and doesn't argue. This current order taker needs to ask people to repeat their order.. Don't get me wrong. Best Crab Rangoon there is locally!! Was looking for some soup and wanted Chinese food nearby so we stumbled upon Hunan Garden online. It was less than a 3 minute drive from us and they had online ordering so it seemed easy. We ordered Crab Rangoon, Hot & Sour Soup, Egg Drop Soup, Orange Chicken, and Kung Pao Chicken. Order was estimated for 25 minutes and they had it ready before I even got there. The staff was so nice and friendly, happily greeting me when I walked in. The food was solid. The soups were as expected, nice and hot and both came with crispy noodles. The crab Rangoon were very crispy outside and had a nice creamy inside. The Kung Pao and Orange chicken was servings were huge and was enough for multiple meals. They definitely did not skimp on meat and wasn't really spicy (only had a mild anyway). This may be my new go to Chinese spot since it's so close, ordering is simple, and the staff is friendly! read more

However, here at Hunan Garden you will find a great selection of Chinese food that is not only savory but comes in a very decent quantity! I've been twice in the past 7 days and placed another order for this afternoon. I just moved here and searched for a decent Chinese spot and thank the Heavens, I finally have. The people are super nice and the restaurant doesn't have that weird mop smell that a lot of the storefront places usually have. It is an actual restaurant with tables and chairs (although, dine-in is not a thing right now due to Big Rona). The food is always fresh and delicious. It tastes like the chefs actually season the food and take special care to prepare your meal. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for great Chinese in Woodbridge. read more

Recently moved to Woodbridge and of course you need to find a Chinese takeout. Someone from my job recommended Hunan Garden so I tried it! The lo menu with veggies is great! Foods was hot and fresh ingredients. I must say it is a bit pricey for takeout, but what isn't nowadays. I also tried the egg drop soup and the shrimp egg foo young. The gravy for the egg foo young is made with peanut oil and to be honest, it was a bit too much for me. Try it out for yourself. Food has been consistently good at this location but, unfortunately, I found a long hair in my food and they would not give me a refund - even though they saw the hair. They took my telephone number and said they would apply a credit to my order the next time I came. Thrilled to have found a place with so many vegan options in LakeRidge! I ordered takeout from them for the second time tonight. Last time we got Kung Pao Tofu, General Tso Tofu, Buddha's Delight, Sweet & Sour bean Curd, and Veggie Lo-Mein. All delicious. The General Tso's is my favorite because it's a little sweeter than the King Pao. The rice has been fluffy and perfect both times. They have the full menu and ability to order online on their website. We'll definitely be ordering here many times while in Woodbridge! read more

The shrimp part of the dish was fine, if sparse, but the fried rice was completely flavorless other than old and stale, and had a mushy texture...which on closer inspection it was! All I can think is, the fried rice was a day or three old and had been sitting waiting for some schmuck (me I guess) to order a fried rice dish! Will not go to the Hunan Garden again. read more

I usually go to Good Taste Express, but they aren't open on Sundays and this place had pretty good reviews so decided to try it out. The food was ok, not bad, not special. The online ordering was easy. I would have given them 3 stars....but the lunch special came with rice and an egg roll and they shorted me an eggroll and the entrée was almost all rice. I guess I'd go again if craving Chinese on a Sunday, but I won't pre-tip again and will take the time to open up the take-out bag and check my order. read more

However, I had tried to specify that I wanted my Kung Pao 'hot spicy' using the BeyondMenu interface, expecting that the baseline dish was going to be pretty mild.. which it should not be, it is marked with the 'spicy chili' marker on the menu. However, upon digging in, there was no discernable heat at all, just sweet-savory. Disappointing! I was hoping for something more "Mala" I really don't see this as a problem with Hunan Garden... I cannot remember the last time I encountered spicy food from a Chinese takeout joint. I'm not sure if this was a BeyondMenu-shop issue, or my extra spec getting passed over.
