Great food! The refried beans especially were a standout. Good atmosphere, definitely on the quieter side. The waitress was good and attentive. Wait time was reasonable and food came out nice and hot. The prices are very reasonable too for as much food as you get. Been here before many times. Had the jumbo margarita before and on my second trip, I got the regular size margarita because the jumbo was too much for me. The regular seemed perfect then. Tonight I got the regular size again and I definitely feel like it is way smaller than my second trip. Had the jumbo only one time before and that was huge. On my second time I still remember the second margarita being a very good size. My most recent trip here, the regular size seemed extremely smaller than the previous. This is a regular place for our whole family to visit, intermediate and extended family. We love this place! The service can be hit and miss sometimes, especially if they are busy. Sometimes they don't seem to have enough staff, and we are waiting around a bit, and sometimes we have excellent service. We were just there last night, and the service was excellent. The beans were cold for some reason, which is unusual. The chips and salsa are always really good, and the salsa usually has a bit of a spicy kick. I almost always get chicken chimichangas, which are excellent, with enough for leftovers. Fajitas are always a great choice too. read more

Celebrating my birthday here, and was quickly seated. Waiter was prompt to give us chips and salsa, and get our drink order. Menus came and he gave us plenty of time to review it. I was just in your establishment and I can't help but feel ripped off and taken advantage of. When I asked for drink specials I was told margaritas were on special and the waiter said small medium and large. Then when I got my bill, $23 per large margarita! And was informed only the small margaritas were on special. $23 a margarita is absolutely ridiculous and even worse when they are mentioned alongside the specials. I asked for the specials. I've ordered food from this place a few times already, it's good but nothing to rave about, just convenient location. I placed an order for pick up this evening. I ordered fajita quesadilla (steak, chicken, and add chorizo). I also ordered hot salsa. I did not get chorizo and was charged for it. It's very very bland, no flavor. When I ordered a side of hot salsa, they usually give you the regular salsa also, but that's not the issue. The "hot salsa" they gave me was like tomato paste with hot sauce added and tasted horrid. I'm a frequent flyer at GT. All the food is delicious and the staff is friendly! There have been times where my table has waited 45 minutes for our food, but it came out hot and fresh so we didn't mind too much. I've tried several different menu items and they've all been great. Good Tequilas sent me a $25 gift certificate 2 days ago for my birthday. Went to dinner tonight at Good Tequilas for my birthday. Ate our dinner, left a generous tip, and went to pay our bill with Gift Certificate displayed on my phon. was then informed that they weren't honoring their own Gift Certificates!! What a festive family-run place! The bartender, Brian, sings to the guys in the kitchen. I think they secretly like it! The salsa that comes with your basket of chips is delicious, get an inexpensive side of guac and it's even better. I had a giant margarita that was priced so ChEAP. All the prices were great for the amount of food you get. I had fajitas locas, includes chicken, beef, pork, sausage, shrimp. There were 6-7 tender shrimp and there was a shredded need or pork that was delicious. The tortillas were soft and hot. And the rice and beans were exactly what you expect. This is not a franchise set in a mall environment. They can handle large crowds, they play Mexicali based music and you watch Hispanic station on TV. Everyone working there shares ethnic similarities. You can see that they are a close knit group! I enjoyed myself and took a to go container even though I was staying in a hotel so that I could add it to my free breakfast at the hampton hotel -- huevos rancheros!! This is one of our go to Mexican places in the Peoria area. I would have to say it is slightly "Americanized" Mexican food, but delicious nonetheless! We often carry out from here and they definitely don't skimp on giving you chips and salsa even though you are carrying out! We also have dined in several times and always had good experiences. Staff is nice and restaurant is overall clean. They could replace some of their booth seats as they are ripping, but otherwise I don't have too many complaints! It is very casual. Prices are reasonable. Plenty of parking in the lot. My go to #1 favorite item on the menu is the fajita nachos (with chicken)... I usually get this as my meal and usually can't finish it haha. It is SOOO good! This most recent time we ate there I decided to try something new. I had the southwestern chimichanga and it was yummy! My only problem with it was that there was barely any chicken in it... but it was still good! Just wish there was more protein in the meal! My husband typically orders the open faced tacos and he loves them! I feel like we always have a hard time finding more authentic open faced tacos in the Peoria area and this is one place we have found that we like (there is one other place that has good tacos but in a different part of town). Most recently, my husband also wanted to try something new and he had the "chori-pollo" plate. It was grilled chicken breast topped with chorizo and melted cheese (came with rice and beans). It was really flavorful!!! The chicken and chorizo both has great flavor. I also love their beans here and I am not a person who usually eats/likes beans. So this morning I placed an order through their website; it said "Thank you for your order." But I didn't get a confirmation email so I thought I'd call and make sure they got the order, (this is a large order for multiple people in a company), she said she didn't and asked what I needed and as I was telling her, she hung up on me. I tried calling back from my phone and no answer. So I asked my mother in law, whom understand Spanish better than I do, to call and place the order. I thought maybe the woman was just having a bad day, everyone has those. So she answered her call, as it was from a different number, and she placed the order. The woman read the order back to her (I was standing right there) and confirmed it was correct. It was. So I go to pick it up, and we start ringing it up, she gives me back change. I honestly did not think to count it or compare it to the menu as everyone gave me their money and order and I didn't think to compare it, as who would, right? She charged me for a medium queso, which I DID NOT order, and she kept telling me I was wrong, she refused to just take back the queso and charged me anyway, so I paid for it. Then I asked if there were beans in the burrito that was ordered by a coworker, she said there was and I told her we asked for no beans and you said it back to us on the phone, she said that did not happen and refused to make the burrito correctly. I did not throw a fit, I paid and left. But when I got back to work and started to get all of the money out, I was overcharged by at least $30, after doing the math, even with taxes, I should have had to give coworkers back change of at least $24, and I should have around $20 in cash of my own after having $43 and I got a Texas Fajitas and a Small Guac, but I came back and had $27 total including my own money. Confused at the rating here. This is our go-to Mexican restaurant and usually the only place we go prior to seeing a movie at Grand Prairie. The decor is great. The service is very good, and fast. The tortilla bowl is refilled almost immediately after emptying it. The margaritas are HUGE, and the food is very good. We love their tacos and fajitas most of all. They offer fish tacos, street tacos, and various fajitas options. All are great. The prices are also very reasonable. We've been here many times and every experience has been great. One improvement we'd like to see is some creativity on the drink menu. Some creative Mexican drinks with Mezcal would be nice. Overall my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Peoria area. read more

Had to walk out after 15 minutes of not being able to get an answer from anyone about when/where they were seating us.
