Yellow tail roll and crunchy roll

We came here at 6:45 pm on a Friday. We got seated immediately and the server was very friendly. We ordered edamame and 3 rolls and they arrived by 7:00 pm. Not much for ambiance (no music and bright lights) but service and food were great! Love having this spot back open and will definitely be coming here frequently! We looooved the volcano roll!!

Attentive service, fresh tasting seafood, restful environment There were plenty of empty tables since they are newly re-opened. I hope the traffic increases in the fall when UNO is fully staffed.

This was my go to place when I lived and worked nearby almost 10 years ago. When my work site moved nearby, I wanted to stop by. But there was a new building and they had not reopened yet. I finally made it back! Still great service and hibachi right in front of you! I got the chicken and steak hibachi and it was a nice little show and a great meal. I can't recommend this high enough.

I was really excited to try good time sushi newly renovated place . Good time did not last to long . I waited 40mins for my beginner sushi dinner while my family ate there 2 rolls (volcano, poboy). We ordered at the same time and there was not that many people in the restaurant. I waited so long for my food that I lost interest in eating. I could not enjoy the experience and it was the first time bringing my cousins from out of town . I bragged so much how good time use to be .Now I feel bad cuz the food was ok and the service was not that good.

I visited on June 6, 2026, during their soft re-launch in the new building. Hibachi tables work well, but the air conditioning still needs some tweaks. It was a bit hot inside. The food was great. We got 2 hibachi lunches and a 2 roll sushi lunch.

This the Togo order of the Dinner shrimp and salmon hibachi.

The restaurant is HOT!! The service is slow! The Togo portions is very small compared to other hibachi restaurants. I paid 38.00 for this.

This is the hibachi shrimp & chicken fried rice.

Great space to what it was before but the air conditioning seemed a little on the warm side tonight. However, I'm looking for to the hibachi table for dinner tomorrow. Service was with a smile and I'm so glad they are back in business

Metairie Roll and Rock n Roll

Haven't been here in years. Decided to revisit because I was in the mood for a Rock n Roll, and I also tried their Metairie Roll. Overall the rolls were good. The Metairie Roll had more rice compared to the inside of the roll. The Rock n Roll seem to lack shrimp, when eating the roll I had a lot crunch of the batter. Their eel sauce is different from what I am use to, more lumpy and doesn't pour on smoothly, all in all tasty. In the past I use to get their Crazy Dog Roll, one of their big rolls, that I always enjoyed. I will return in the future to reconnect with that roll. The lady that took my order and checked me out was friendly and welcoming. Currently they are only doing takeout. If you are in the Gentilly area, stop by and give them a try.

Absolutely amazing! Every time I come, it's perfect. They are very consistent with their food. This is the BEST sushi spot in New Orleans in my opinion. Perfect for calling in and grabbing for a weekend night in!

I've been to this restaurant multiple times, by myself and with friends. Everybody describes it as a hole in the wall. Which is kinda true. The building doesn't look presentable and it is very easy to miss if you don't know where you are going. But you are in for a treat. Their food is very tasty, prices are affordable and service is pretty good too. They do have strange decorations on the walls, like horses or cows (in a sushi place?) . But who cares if the food is good, right? They offer take outs, which I haven't tried before but I'm planning on doing so during crazy busy work weeks. Parking is easy. I've never seen them packed to the point you can't find a parking spot. All in all, good affordable neighborhood restaurant.

I've eaten here a few times and the food and service have been consistent, visit to visit. I've ordered from their very reasonably priced lunch menu each time, and am happy with the value and the food. The restaurant is a small, but I've never had to wait for a table. I've noticed that a lot of folks stop by to pick up to go orders. Yesterday I had the lunch roll combo, and the snow crab and tuna rolls were both pretty fresh. My daughter loved her salmon box, and my husband said his fresh fish was O.K. The wait staff is really on top of their game, and it makes for a nice, casual dining experience.

Kenji Omakase will be a new annual special occasion go to. Japanese Omakase experience and style, a one of a kind food experience where every course is a harmonious blend of flavors, textures and eye appeal. The sushi chef talks you through each course after he places it on you platter. I asked if these were supposed to be eaten by hand if you wanted to, he agreed most people traditionally eat these that way. The flavors were buttery and tangy, textures delicate and sometimes a small crunch with fried scallions etc. We had tuna, ocean trout that was Similar to salmon but a different shade of orange, scallops and finished with waygu beef. It was amazing with each course the flavors seem to improve. A great experience, if you are any type of sushi fan or even on the fence, this could easily make you a sushi lover. I give this a complete recommendation. Try Kenji you will be very happy you did. The ambiance was fun also traditional Japanese. I may have Mis-named a few photos but know they are all just incredible journeys across your palate, hard to describe, melting with texture and flavors.

I'm sorry but I'm not sure if I agree with the current ratings of 4.7 this place has (as of Feb 2,…read more2025.) To me, based on our experience tonight, it's none other than a super over-hyped sushi restaurant that only has a high end feel to it. Service: was decent. We arrived at the place 11 minutes before our reservation time of 5pm. Since my daughter works in the restaurant industry, as a politeness, we didn't go inside until 4:59pm even though one of the workers came to the door and unlocked it at 4:51pm. Once inside he knew we were the 5pm reservation. He was polite but somehow his whole demeanor lacked friendliness. Menu: Even though the drink menu was an actual physical one, the food menu is online. How strange. After scanning the QR code, we were hoping to see a good selection of food items. But to our surprise, the food menu is/was very small. Actually this place's main thing is nothing but "omakase" where if you choose to order from the a la cart section, the choices are so limited (we were here in town from Denver, CO. After eating some deep-fried stuff for the last few days, we felt that we were truly healthy food or salad depleted; just to clarify, we didn't show up to to this restaurant just to eat salad because after all, this is a sushi restaurant. We love sushi. And yet we were hoping for some decently sized salad. Unfortunately none is/was found on the menu. I even personally asked the guy to see if the sushi chef could whip up something but he gave me a nonchalant no.) We still believed this place could do some magical things so we ordered a bowl of miso soup, oyster tarter (lobster tarter replacement), tuna, salmon and yellowtail nigiris. Miso soup, for the price of $10, was extremely small. Also the entire soup was lukewarm to a point where the center of the small tofu pieces was still cold. Ugh... All the nirigis tasted fresh but I didn't care for the sweet sauce (mainly used for unagi/eel) on the salmon nigiri. Why?? I've never had a salmon nigiri prepared this way.) The only item that was impressive was the oyster tarter (not on the menu as this was the replacement item for the lobster tarter.) This was excellent where we could have easily ordered another one but at this point, we didn't want to spend anymore $$ as all items on the menu are not cheap here. We are a fan of yuzu. The only dessert item (once again, there is only one dessert on the menu) is yuzu tart or something like that. One of the sushi chefs informed us though that the online menu hadn't been quite updated for this so he said it would be a yuzu sponge cake type thing. We decided to give it a try. This, however, failed to impress us either as it was a very much average sponge cake, nothing more at all. We didn't order any drinks besides the water so the final bill was about $75 with some change. Well, tonight's overall experience of ours didn't justify this amount in any way possible. There was another sushi restaurant that had the similar ratings with similar location (when we searched it yesterday.) Maybe we should have chosen that one instead. Disappointed....

We started with cocktails which had fun twists in flavor. We ordered the Omakase and upgrade one fish dish to the Wagu beef ($50). I dug in, forgetting to take a photo. Each dish was beautifully presented and tasty, including some unique ingredients like ginger imported from Japan. My only complaint is that there wasn't enough. If the chef is reading reviews... switch the miso soup with a mini-ramen to give the meal more substance.

We got there a little before they opened but since it was raining they let us in and we waited off the side until they officially opened. Let me start by saying the restaurant is gorgeous! The ambience was grown and sexy and definitely gave fine dining. The waitress was pleasant and gave recommendations because I had no idea what to get. We got the bread to start and OMG that bread was delicious! It was buttery, with a honey flavor and 2 spreads to use. I wanted to eat it all but knew I had to eat an actual dish lol. My husband and I shared a small plate-the wagyu tacos. Lets just say I woke up thinking about those tacos I ordered a medium prime rib eye & my husband ordered a medium rare filet. His filet was perfect but my ribeye was overcooked. They made me a new one with no problem & were very apologetic. The new steak was more medium rare than medium but I still ate it and it was good but fatty. We shared the seafood mac & cheese which we both agreed was the best we had ever had. It was a huge portion so we ended up taking some home (didnt last very long after getting home). Lastly, we ordered the praline crème brûlée....another thing I woke up thinking about Im already thinking about the next time! 10 out of 10!

That being said, even though we were wearing casual tourist clothes we felt very welcomed by the staff. We enjoyed our experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was wonderful, the music playing, the staff was incredible as was the food. There was so much to take in as far as interior design. We loved it. We had some sort of steak, a starter and a salad. This was about a week ago, so I don't really remember exactly what we ordered. That being said the next night we tried a different restaurant with great reviews in the same neighborhood. The ambience was great there, but the food did not measure up. Immediately after that meal, we walked back to Morrow Steak to finish our trip on a high note. We shared the cauliflower starter again as well as a dessert this time - which was something I'd never heard of but incredible some sort of cheesecake that was purple. The first night we sat at a table and the second time we sat at the bar - and it was an equally wonderful experience. The bartender was extremely friendly and efficient. Again we were wearing casual clothes. Out of respect to the other patrons, I wish I had packed nicer clothes to wear but don't let this detour you if you didn't pack them.
