Yes and yes! This is a must. The donuts are vegan or plant based. Super soft! Real fruit jams and glazed. The bread is like biting a cloud! So soft and flavorful. We came early, like 8am early so parking was easy and donuts were warm. My favorite: the s'mores!! Its a must! The strawberry heavy whipped cream reminds me of malasadas. Extremely delicious! The gentleman at the counter was super friendly too. I will definitely be back

I have tried most of their donuts here and I adore this little donut shop at The LAB so much. I'm no donut-lover but these donuts are my absolute favorite. My top donuts so far: -Creme Brulee -Earl Grey -Berry -Matcha The flavored creams and glazes in each donut are so delicious and really give each donut its unique flavor profile. The flavors are natural and true to their name. They also have the cutest miniature donut gift set (box of 6)!! A great gift imo because the donuts here are visually stunning and delicious, but not over the top. They also do many deals, like buy 2 get 1 free donuts. Their drinks are also on the cheaper side. The shop is peaceful and retro and the staff are always so sweet. I stop by here with my pup often.

    So yummy!!

Yes! The best donuts in the town. The appearance and the taste of them are just so perfect! Their doughnuts are not greasy at all and so moist. The matcha donut was so good even though there's no filling to it but perfect touch of matcha on top of light glaze makes it so good. The friendly smiles of the owners are wholesome too. Thank you for the good service and great food!

First off, this location is part of the cutest space. So many great spots to visit and also just sit to enjoy your food. WiFi is also strong! The shop itself is small but Jo a problem. Very community oriented with the take a bag, leave a bag offering. Oreo donut was okay. I felt like it was a thick donut for all the Oreo to only be on the top but it was still very tasty. The crème brûlée donut was AHHMAZING! The custard, the fruit, the sugar top. No complaints at all

While reviewing my archives, I came across this photograph. Six years ago, my wife and I--who were dating at the time--had our first dates, during which we enjoyed some outstanding doughnuts after dining at Seabird. I felt compelled to share a review of these doughnuts. They are truly exceptional; I was tempted to order every variety. The staff was also very friendly and attentive.

Limited edition- Earl Grey ($6) and my favorite Triple Berry donut ($6). 7/6/2025

It has been a little while since I last visited Good Town Doughnuts and I'm glad their quality hasn't changed. My all time favorite is Triple Berry ($6). It has a really nice sweet and tart flavor to it and the doughnut has a really nice texture and taste despite being vegan. I also love their Double Chocolate ($5), with just the right amount of chocolate flavor. Their doughnuts do not leave you feeling gross and greasy afterwards. Service is always friendly. They have such a cool vibe here to go with the rest of The Lab aesthetics. This is a place worth checking out whether you are vegan or not because their doughnuts are really good!

This place got a lot of colorful treats with magic put into it I swear it looks like a candy factory and I'm getting a good calorie count just looking at the goodness this place makes to get my sweet tooth craving started. I like the staff friendliness and the place is packed with cool decor and memories of the past days.

All the donuts I mention :)

The shop is a cute little spot in a shopping/eating/lounging center. There is so much to look at in there, a lot going on (that's a good thing!). The service was swift, not much to say there. But the donuts??? TO DIE FOR. The crème brûlée donut was my favorite (not vegan.. sad but eating it was worth it). The coconut one was very flavorful, not too sweet- just right. The berry one was tart but balanced. Earl Grey donut was good, just a bit too buttery, texture wise (it was the filling ahh). Vanilla and sprinkles donuts were just classics, nothing crazy but nothing bad. Great spot for a sweet treat :)

Deliciously fluffy and light donuts that you wouldn't expect from a plant-based recipe. I regularly stop by to grab a lemon poppyseed or raspberry donut and the sweetness is just right. I sometimes buy the mini box of 6 donuts when I want more of a variety. Service is always fast and friendly, and you can eat them outside in the open communal seating. I'd personally stick to just the donuts over their drinks.

Soooooo fucken good!!!! There I said it....:) my new fav spot. Vegan not vegan who cares these are so delicious. The only reason I came to the lab today hoping they were open today. Today we had triple berry donut and Nutella. So good. Ok byeeeeee

starting at the top left: lemon poppyseed, simple glazed, coconut, earl grey, raspberry pistachio, triple berry.

FOLKS. Do NOT sleep on the Earl Grey Vegan Donut!!! HOLY MOLY I thought the cream they added before handing it to me was just going to be like a whipped cream. NO. IT was NOT normal whipped cream! It was CLOTTED CREAM (or a variation of it anyway). Y'all it has been SO LONG since I have had clotted cream. Legit I took a bit and it brought me all the way back to my study abroad in England (before I was vegan), when I ate clotted cream and drank early grey daily for a month straight. Brilliant! Of COURSE your topping for an earl grey donut should be clotted cream! Simple, delicious, not too sweet. I can't rave about this enough. The rest of the vegan donuts I tried (simple glazed, coconut, lemon poppy seed, triple berry, and raspberry pistachio) were also delicious. Triple berry glaze really tasted like it had been made with real berries (not just berry flavoring). The lemon poppyseed was probably my least favorite (not because it wasn't good, but because it tasted so much like lemon poppyseed bread, but I missed the dense, heavy texture of the actual thing). Coconut was quite yummy, just what I wanted it to be. Simple Glazed hit the spot. Overall. Cannot recommend this place enough--for anyone really, I don't think you'd need to be vegan to fall in love with these flavors. BUT especially for anyone looking for artisan donuts, this is the place!! Also service was fast and efficient, and there's a lot of nice seating right outside because it's inside The Lab.

Stopped into Good Town Donuts in Costa Mesa for a last minute birthday celebration and grabbed the variety pack. Cut everything in half and shared with friends which was perfect because you get to try a little bit of everything without committing to just one flavor. Overall the donuts were good, definitely presentable, and the lady who helped us made the experience really enjoyable. The shop itself is super cute and has a fun vibe, but nothing that totally blew me away. They do have non-vegan options which is nice, but honestly it felt more like a one time stop for me. I liked it, my friends liked it, but it's not the kind of spot I'd go out of my way to visit again. Still, if you're in the area and want something sweet and Instagram-worthy, it's worth a try.

My cousin (who briefly worked there) brought my brother and I when we were 13 (me) and 15 (my brother). We got to eat donuts all day. One of my fondest memories with my cousin. Anyways, I've gone many times over the years and always recommend Sidecar to everyone I come across (if donuts come up in conversation). I went yesterday as well and my gosh, the quality has not changed! Sidecar always amazes me and whoever I bring. They live up to the "hype." In my book, they make the best product, period. Their huckleberry donut and choc-o-lot are absolute classics. Their seasonal pumpkin cinnamon roll donut was great as well. Their staff is always friendly and attentive. 10/10 recommend.

I usually prefer yeast doughnuts over cake doughnuts, but these doughnuts were not dry or heavy at all. I ended up ordering the Butter & Salt doughnut and an Americano with brown sugar sweetener and huckleberry cold foam, while my husband ordered a plain cold brew. We waited outside by the pick-up window after ordering. Service was fast for the doughnut and my coffee, but they seemed to forget about my husband's cold brew, so I had to ask about it after a few minutes of waiting. Not a big deal, just was surprised it took so long when it was such an easy order! We both enjoyed the buttery/salty doughnut, and my coffee was delightful! However, my husband said the cold brew was just okay and it was packed with ice to the point you couldn't stick the straw in the lid. Overall, our first experience at this location was good, and we'll definitely be back to try more of Sidecar's delicious doughnuts! Might pass on the cold brew though!

Unfortunately, after my last two experiences, I will not be returning. On my previous visit, we ordered bagels with cream cheese and received barely any cream cheese. When I politely asked for more and offered to pay for it, the interaction was uncomfortable, but I decided to give the shop another chance. Today, my son specifically asked to come back for a donut and bagel. We were the only customers eating inside. Shortly after receiving our food, an employee began mopping the very small dining area with a strong Pine Sol solution. The door were open, there was no air conditioning, and the chemical smell became so overwhelming that I told him I was having difficulty breathing and asked about it. Rather than simply waiting until we finished eating, he argued that other customers like the smell and that no one else complains. Eventually he said he would stop while I was there, but by that point the entire interaction had become unnecessarily uncomfortable. Other employees were also speaking loudly from the back, and the overall atmosphere made my son and me feel extremely unwelcome. I don't expect perfection, and I'm usually very understanding about service issues. But customers should be able to sit down and finish their food without strong cleaning chemicals being mopped around their table, and a reasonable concern should be met with courtesy rather than an argument. After supporting this neighborhood business for four years, including larger purchases for my workplace, it's disappointing to say I won't be returning or recommending it. There are simply too many other places where customers are made to feel welcome. Please note: this is a VERY polite version of what happened. This was an awful experience. I will never recommend this business and definitely will not return.
