Such a gem! It's kinda tucked away in the corner of the Lab, but this donut spot is as cute as it is delicious. The shop is full of charm. It's got vintage clothes, pins, and patches for sale too. They've got all the classics plus options for different diets, and every bite was so good. I got a classic glaze and an iced coffee. Both were terrific. The service was super friendly, speedy, AND thoughtful service. Great experience every time I've gone in! Can't wait to go back! read more

Bread my lips: these donuts are perfect circles. I opted for the obvious choice: a nutella donut. This donut holds a jewel of nutella in its doughy center. The edge of the donut is all powdered sugar, caked out bliss. Each bite of nutella wonder made me forget whether the service or ambience was good or bad. I have been lost for days in a reverie of chocolatey hazelnut. I hope this fantasy has no exits. Please join me sometime at Good Town where there is no turning back from paradise. read more

Fresh doughnuts found in this cute and quirky establishment after a good meal nearby. At close to 6 pm when the shop closes, my husband and I had a nice surprise for a special buy two get one free! We had three in total of doughnuts and enjoyed them all. We saved the other two for next day of course! Most of the doughnuts were plant-based which made them "healthier". The sweetness of the doughnuts were not overpowering which was full of goodness!! read more

Super cute little shop woth tons of vegan options that are delicious. The employee was very kind and patient as we debated our options. We got a very berry, double chocolate, maple walnut, lemon poppyseed, creme broken, and a cinnamon roll. There were no complaints about any of them. read more

Cute & compact place! How could you not smile having a Smile Mango donut smiling up at you?! Enticing and unique flavor combinations, and delightful mini boxes! The staff is so nice, even offering to inform us when the gluten-free doughnuts would be ready (which was far quicker than the quoted 10-15 minutes). The doughnuts are denser than the standard doughnuts; nice, clean flavors (and left my fingers clean, too, from any stickiness), and I love that they aren't cloyingly sweeeeet! The doughnuts are even individually wrapped -- nice! Not being vegan or gluten-free, I'm a fan. Fabulous find! read more

Food: these are my absolute FAVORITE donuts in OC! They're so incredibly light and fluffy. The glazes and icings are packed with flavor. They have an incredible vegan selection as well which we tried and could not tell the difference in either texture or flavor. The mango donut is my favorite flavor here. It's decorate with a bright and fun yellow mango icing and a chocolate smiley face. Ambiance: it's a quick place to stop for a sweet treat and it's located within the Anti Mall. There's so many cool shops to walk around and take a look at while you're there. read more

Fab fab fab! love the worker (i think the owner too!) What a gem! I wish i lived nearby , i would come EVERY WEEKEND. the matcha donut was PERFECT. All the doughnuts don't have any eggs. A few on the bottom shelf have real butter. Majority of the items are vegan. The matcha was my favorite so perfect. I also had the boston cream bc it's one I can never eat because of food intolerances . It was so good- the inside is coconuty though. I love almond filling more. I really want to try the triple berry and the raspberry and the double chocolate crunch. Honestly they had this "mini sampler box" and the donuts were a bit smaller but a variety pack and it looked sooo cute! I think the pricing was very reasonable too! If i wasn't catching a flight in a few hours, i would have totally bought it! 5/5 read more

Seriously the best of the best! I am not a local but I am definitely a frequent here! These donuts are incomparable! Amazing flavor combinations and even if that's not your cup of tea, the cinnamon roll is simply so delicious! My current favorite is the toasted coconut! Let's not forget about the avocado toast... that is insanely delicious and the brioche toast it sits on is the perfect touch! Large enough for two to share but trust me.. you may want your own. Quite a few coffee options as well! They usually have beautiful dried floral bouquets and those are perfect for yourself or for gift giving. Don't forget to check those out! I tried their raspberry pistachio donut and it was sooooo good (~$6). It had a raspberry frosting that genuinely tasted like raspberry. I will say I was a little skeptical because a lot of places use artificial raspberry flavoring, but it tasted real here. On top, it came with one very fresh and sweet raspberry and crushed pistachios. It's the best donut I've had in a while. They were really nice/welcoming and the vibes in side were dope. I will definitely be back to try other flavors when I'm in town. read more

I always look forward to coming here, when I come to the lab. The owners are very polite, kind and gracious. My go to here is the Alvarado toast where the bread is slightly warm to perfection . What a fun shop to stop by while walking around The Lab! The interior is small, but it has a lot of charm. Most importantly, the donuts are beautiful and quite colorful, AND they're so soft, fluffy, and practically melt in your mouth! They also have vegan options! I ordered myself the Mango Smile and the mango frosting was tart and super fruity. Price-wise, the donuts can be a little expensive, but to be fair, they're fancy donuts and are very high quality. read more

Good Town Doughnuts is located inside the Lab Anti-Mall. It's a small donut shop. Their Mango Donut is to die for if you love mango! The staff members always give a great service. But there is a parking problem at this mall. If you go there around lunch time, it's so hard to find a parking spot. Going there between 10 am and 10:30 am is probably the best hours. read more

We found ourselves in Costa Mesa this week and had a hankering for donuts. After checking Yelp reviews we found Good Town Donuts and headed over. The cool eclectic shop is located in The Lab next to the Seabirds restaurant. It had a beautiful counter display of gourmet donuts ranging in price from $3.50-$6 give or take. We did the Buy 5, get the 6th for Free. I had the Maple Walnut and it was exceptional. The dough was delicious, light and fluffy, not greasy. The crunch of the nuts was a great touch along with the maple icing. The Mango "smiley face" donut was cute and tart, not sweet. $3.50 The Raspberry White Chocolate Sprinkle was amazing. Great flavor, my son said it was one of the best donuts he has ever had. $3.50 The location has a great vibe with lots of recycled art to be admired. There are tables outside of the shop for seating. read more

I was really excited to try this place with all the great reviews, but to be honest I found this donut flight a little underwhelming. I might have come at a time when they weren't as fresh. I think the donuts had just sat out a bit too long and the glazes were just a bit too thick/sweet for my liking. I'd be willing to come back in the earlier hours of the day and try again. I love that they have such a cute mini box option!! Would I come back? YES...to try their other flavors :) The interior of the store was so cute! In addition to donuts, they sell dried flowers that are quite vibrant as well as other little products. It's not a super big store, but there's plenty of seating outside (it's in The Lab) Overall, none of the donuts were overly sweet and had a pretty strong flavor. The texture of the donuts weren't too dry and weren't too moist either. In addition, they were all very aesthetically pleasing. Incredible donuts. Beautiful, delicious and expensive. Spent about $80 on donuts and a couple iced coffees.. Seems extreme. I was have a good time at Good Town. The young ladies working were friendly and helpful. I asked them for a dozen donuts of their choosing. We made specific selections for 3 of the 12. They boxed 6 vegan and 6 regular. All were delicious and had they not written vegan on the box we wouldn't have been able to tell them apart. Full of flavor and whimsy. We loved our donuts. The service is great, the employees are very respectful. We stumbled upon this place by accident by walking around after we bought coffee from Nook Coffee Bar (very delicious coffee). I usually shy away from "vegan" or "plant based" doughnuts but these doughnuts taste amazing to me. The classic doughnut is a must and I recommend the dark purple mixed berry one that has fresh fruit on it. Do not let "plant based" discourage you from trying anything. Go in with an open mind and you will not be disappointed. Go early before they sell out! read more

There are definitely some absolutely delicious gourmet donuts. They are a bit on the pricier side but you get what you pay for. They have both regular and vegan donuts which I love. We tried the toasted coconut, chocolate cocoa nibs, coconut mango, triple berry, nutella and some sort of mint cookie donut and they all passed the test. They were moist, not too oily, the ones that had toppings (the mint one and the chocolate cocoa nibs) were crunchy and not stale whatsoever. The flavors they were trying to convey shined through. I definitely couldn't choose a favorite because they were all so good. Of course this shop is located at the Lab (the anti-mall) so parking is really limited but if you're in the area and wanting a sweet treat I would definitely recommend going here. read more

Just wow! I love these vegan donuts because they are not oily whatsoever and have a great doughy texture. They're so soft and literally melt in your mouth. I thoroughly enjoyed the matcha donut because of its subtlety in flavor (and the dusted matcha powder on top). I also ordered the lemon poppyseed donut. That one is good too but very tart and sweet. I had to eat the lemon poppyseed one in increments throughout the day. The donuts are great and almost make me forget that I'm paying about $5/donut lol! 10/10!!!! read more

If you love fluffy Delicious doughnuts this is the place whether is non vegan or vegan they are both so good! The place is very small but cozy there are plenty if places to sit and enjoy your doughnuts. We usually got the Berry vegan doughnut and the strawberry sprinkle one, it's very moist and tasty. Orange County/SoCal perpetually confuses me with its vegan options tucked away in what are essentially malls, but hey, not complaining that these options exist in the first place. Good Town is an open air mall situation, not a far drive from Santa Ana airport. If you're on your way to/from the airport, it's an easy way to get your donut fix. While Good Town is not entirely vegan, they have several vegan options and they are clearly marked in their case. From what I can tell, and have had in the past, the donuts are more on the cakey-end of the spectrum. I'm not a huge cake-donut fan but these definitely have a good texture and high quality ingredients. Donuts that have the word strawberry or raspberry in their name actually taste like the fruit they are referencing, not just sugary sweetness. And while donuts generally should be eaten same day, I've eaten these over the course of 2-3 days and they hold up pretty well. I will definitely include them in my rotation when I fly into the area (especially as they are a nice treat to follow a meal at Seabirds, right next door!) read more

I don't expect perfection, and I'm usually very understanding about service issues. But customers should be able to sit down and finish their food without strong cleaning chemicals being mopped around their table, and a reasonable concern should be met with courtesy rather than an argument. After supporting this neighborhood business for four years, including larger purchases for my workplace, it's disappointing to say I won't be returning or recommending it. The brioche bun sets these doughnuts apart from all other joints... they obviously use high-quality dough, as the bread is fluffy, soft, and almost succulent. I highly recommend the matcha and glazed doughnuts, but if you are feeling a bit more adventurous, I recommend smiling mango and pure maple bacon. The Lab has perfect aesthetics and offers the best atmosphere to eat and enjoy these doughnuts. I ordered 5 different flavors: cinnamon sugar, Oreo, s'mores, Reese's and signature pink frosting. Each one tasted so good and had a soft texture. I requested to have the donuts delivered to the party venue during the time frame my family was setting up. I wasn't there, but I received a text from whoever delivered stating they left the donuts with my family within my time frame.
