    Plain bagels
    Aurore G.

The BEST bagels you'll find. Haven't eaten such delicious bagels in probably 30 years, and never in CA. They are chewy and soft and perfectly flavored. We used to get Proof Bagels when they were at the Aliso Viejo farmers market but they're no longer there :( so we had to brave the Irvine Farmer's Market this morning at Mariner's Church. Super crowded and parking is terrible, someplace I would NEVER EVER go to, so that tells you how much I wanted these bagels! Couldn't find their stall and it was nearing closing time so I called them and they responded right away. Definitely recommend ordering ahead to make sure they don't run out. You also get a free bagel when ordering 5 online! Should have taken a pic before we scarfed down the Everything and Rosemary Salt bagels. Here is a pic of the Plain ones. Proof Bagels rock so hard, get yourself some soon!!!

If you're reading this wondering whether to get Proof Handmade Bagels, the answer is a resounding YES! These are the best bagels in OC, thick and chewy and everything you could possibly want in a bagel! I'm updating my review because I tried their French Onion bagel and OMG it was AMAZING! It tastes just like French Onion soup but in bagel form. Sure, it's a little pricey at $4.50 but it's totally worth it! My daughter bit into their French Toast bagel and said, "YUM!" She was half-tempted to eat it with maple syrup because it tasted just like its namesake. Another winner! Their blueberry bagel is good, but not the flavor bomb that these two are. Their plain bagels are also perfect too! Definitely order ahead so you can skip the line and ensure that you get the bagels you want! Plus if you preorder, they have a buy five, get one free deal (at least at the time of this review they do). Proof always sells out so preorder! You won't be disappointed!

Rosa and Rich, you've changed my weekend AMs for the better! Proof Bagels have touched down to the Irvine Farmers Market scene, and I can frantically run two blocks from my apt every Sunday morning to get my bagel fix in now. (I've been following Rich's bagel development from its Reddit days and haven't gotten the chance to try them for myself until the Irvine landing.) These bagels are the plumpest, fluffiest, and most well decorated bagels I've had since... probably ever. Proof is worth the AM detour, and if you're worried about the bagels selling out (which they do), use their website and order ahead! Ordering ahead allows you to skip the ordering line and guarantees you your chosen bagels.

I came across Proof Handmade Bagels at the OC Great Park Farmer's Market, and they were delicious! They are Asian-owned and very friendly and welcoming. I got an everything bagel in the morning and it stayed fresh all day, and was still soft when I ate it in the afternoon with cream cheese. Yum! I can't wait to get more bagels from these guys. They are located at the Great Park Farmer's Market, which has recently moved to Stonegate Elementary at 100 Honors, Irvine, CA 92620, every Sunday from 10am -2pm. Happy eating!

OMG these bagels are so good. I tried their French Onion, French Toast, and their Rosemary and Sea Salt and they were all so chewy and delicious. You have a customer for life now! And the owners are so nice and provided amazing customer service at the farmers market. I definitely recommend you pre-order as they will have your order ready for you so you can just pick up! They sell out fast so this is a great way to make sure you get your bagels. Their specialty cream cheese is also very good and tastes so fresh.

These handmade bagels are AMAZING! If you are in the OC they travel to different farmer's markets. I pre-ordered and picked mine up in Irvine. We are a bagel loving family and these are so soft and fresh tasting! @proofbagels - so yum!

Finally--a real bagel in California without having to travel all the way to New York! Look at this beauty: perfectly crispy on the outside and wonderfully chewy on the inside. The cream cheeses are to die for--we got the scallion and the salmon, and both were incredibly flavorful and delicious. I'm so glad we finally have something this good locally. Thank you so much Proof for sharing your delicious bagels with us!

I'm not one to review many places, but these bagels take the cake!! I've been far and wide across the nation eating bagels, and this is one of the best I've eaten so far. I've tried their blueberry, everything, french onion, french toast, jalapeño asiago, and sea salt bagels. Every single bagel is delicious, crispy, (but also amazingly) chewy, and perfectly fluffy! They also sell amazing cream cheese options, including smoked salmon and chive cream cheese. I always order online (find them on IG @proofbagels) and am greeted with a smile every time I come pick up. It's part of my biweekly ritual, and I love sharing with my coworkers at the hospital too who love their bagels!

A big fan of this brand since day one at the market. For all you bread lovers out there, you NEED to try proofbagels! Bagels - THE BEST!!! All bagels are prepped days in advance and freshly baked right before each market. These are hands down some of the best East Coast-style bagels you'll find on the West Coast. The quality is unmatched. Cream Cheese - In house made cream cheese is a must try. From the classic scallion cream cheese to other special flavors. Ever since they introduced the pre-order/pick up system, the lines have become much easier to all customers and they move very quickly Really grateful for this preorder/pick up system!! Let me give you a PRO TIP here... I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ordering from their online website because their products often sell out at every market. Plus, it makes the whole process smoother. Your bagels and cream cheese are pre packaged and guaranteed to be ready for pick up. The two owners, Richard and Rosa, are always there, working hard to make sure everything runs smoothly. They've been continuously improving the menu and operations since day one. Their kindness and dedication are evident, and they always greet you with genuine smiles while serving up the most delicious products. GO VISIT !!!

PROOF took me from "not knowing or caring about bagels" to "yeah, I'm a bagel fanatic" in about two weeks. they're that awesome.

As an art store, there are already small aisles since the store is filled with displays. The customers that come in and out aren't the kindest people. There's pushing, shoving, and nonexistent boundaries. My only hope is for some sort of expansion so there's less exchanges of germs. My little brother was playing with one of the Labubu hair products when an employee came up to him and said, "You've had enough fun. Let's not ruin the product." We understood and immediately stopped. After that, though, the employee kept following us around the store, which made us feel very uncomfortable. My brother eventually said, "You don't need to follow us around." The employee then mumbled, "Why don't you shut the f**k up." When my brother asked him what he said, the employee denied it and claimed he was just doing his job. He then asked where our parents were. I called my parents over, and as soon as they arrived, the employee ran into the employee room. When my parents asked about him, another employee claimed she didn't know who we were talking about. This was strange because we had just seen the two employees talking before he went into the back. Another customer who overheard the conversation said they only heard the employee tell my brother not to mess with the products, but that wasn't the issue. The problem was that he followed us around the store and, from what we heard, cursed at my younger brother. I don't know whether he was profiling us, being discriminatory, or simply being rude, but his behavior was completely unprofessional. There was no reason to follow us around the store or speak to a child that way. Customer service like this is unacceptable. For reference, the employee was an older man with a brown beard. Unfortunately, I didn't catch his name.

I was really surprised by all the variety, like clothes for adults, kids and dogs! They also have a mix of handmade items too. I got so inspired by the section with all the party decorations. It's a great place to browse and get ideas too. A couple of the reasons why I'm not giving 5 stars include the fact that I went for their self-care Sunday "event" - which even had free tickets on the Eventbrite. I am still very confused regarding the marketing of this "event". They had 1 booth to make your own floral bouquets and then a small Halloween backdrop for kids/animals. I didn't see anything self care related and it felt more like a ploy to get you to shop. I was hoping for a station with face masks, nail painting, charm bracelets, etc. I thought it would be more of a pop up type event. Either vendors dropped out or it wasn't actually an event. I still am unsure. The second thing to note is that it really felt like no one was working in the store. I saw one employee at the cash register, and that was it. Especially since it was an "event", I anticipated a warmer greeting or an explanation about the event. They had a box of donuts that said "help yourself" and some waters. Outside they had coffee and we paid $8 for a small, that was very small. The shop itself is a mix of various vendors - some homemade and some store bought. It did feel a bit overpriced at times and hard to determine which were actually handmade. But, it is an opportunity to help small businesses owners versus ordering from Amazon! The last positive to mention is that they offer a variety of crafts and classes on certain days and I'm really looking forward to checking that out.
