I had the best experience at Ken jones. I came for new boots and Tyler helped me out. I truly could not recommend him enough. He was so knowledgeable, kind, patient, and easy to talk to. I've been skiing on bad boots for 3 years and told him I really wanted to make sure this pair would last me longer. I was there for two hours and he did not rush me at all, even encouraged me to stay as long as I wanted. Bought 2 pair of skis in the same week due to the awesome friendly staff. The first pair was for my daughter who just started skiing this year, it was last minute on a Saturday night before they closed. I called to see if they would have anything in stock since it would be such a small size and they said yes come in anytime. We arrived and they showed us all the options, fit her with the perfect boots all for an amazing price. She was amped with her new gear and the staff was just as excited for her, it was great. I really wanted a pair for myself so I could join her on the slopes and was looking for something used with no luck. Decided to go back and look at new gear and had a budget in mind. Now it's been a long time since I've skied ( been snowboarding for decades) they explained all the new tech between a large variety of skis, picked out a perfect fitting pair of new boots for my wide feet and it was well under the budget I had in my head. No hard selling and answered all my questions. These guys had me on the slopes that day on some awesome gear. This will be the only place we get our gear now for life. If I could chose no stars I would have. This place has the rudest workers and is horrible. This is our first season with snow as we just moved here so everything was new to us. We reserved skis for my son and daughter. They called and said they didn't have any for my son but that they had some for my daughter. It was fine we would just go find my sons someplace else. I drive there and I'm welcomed by a rude man in the rental shop who said we don't have any skis for her. I said but we reserved them. They called and said they didn't have any for my son. Why didn't we get the call for her. He said I don't know who called you. That's the response I got. I said well we have a reservation. That didn't matter to him and I was told I needed to come there in August. I said we didn't even move here until August. Finally I left outside and was talking to my husband who did the rental reservation. A customer comes out and threatens to call the cops on me and wanted to fight my 16 year old son. I went back in to ask for the employees name where he said he didn't have to give me anything and refused to give me his name. Also told me how horrible of a mother I was. More than once. He told me to go talk to the managers upstairs. I went upstairs and was able to talk to the manager Mike I believe was his name. He was very nice and understanding and it wasn't ok what had happened. He told me he was going to tell owner so I asked to speak to the owner Dylan Hall. The owner came out. As I was trying to explain what happened he just wanted to know where my car was and where my kid was. I told him I wasn't giving them any money and he didn't need to know where my car was. I tried telling him about what happened where he said we are done here and said he was going to call the cops on me. He went to talk to the employees and decided I was at fault. During that time I went back up and asked for all of their names and tried to talk to Mike again. He did come out and the look on his face when I told him what Dylan did was this look of why did he do this. You could tell he felt bad as well as this might happen a lot. Mike went in the back and never came back out because he was told not to per the ladies up front. Dylan came back up and told me he was calling the cops on me. I waited a few minutes for Mike but then asked the ladies for their names. She gave me their names and I left. A while later I called back and asked to talk to Mike. The ladies told me to hold on and transferred me to Dylan where he told me he called the cops and they took my license plate and had all my information and gave it to the cops and then hung up me. My husband also tried to call them and see what was going on and why we had a reservation and it wasn't honored and Dylan to hung up on him. Dylan and his employees are the rudest people ever and do not belong in customer service. I had a panic attack after I left because of the way I was treated. I have never been treated so bad. This place I will NEVER be going back to. I do want to add that Mike the manager was very nice. The way he handled things he does not deserve to be working there. He deserves better. I called to actually thank him was the reason I called but when I told that to Dylan he hung up on me. Beware going to this place. read more

I have been looking for backcountry skis for over 2 years. Mostly on the web but really wanted to touch and feel before I buy. While visiting my daughter I wondered into Ken Jones Ski Mart. Wow! So many choices! Dylan helped me to select a boot binding and a ski for the conditions I mostly ski. After just over an hour I was out the door with everything I needed. Looking at the size of this store I am sure they get busy. My advice be patient it'll be worth the wait. I skied on the set up today and I am very happy with my set up. Dylan and his team were great and helped me get a nice comfortable boots for a reasonable price. I would have given a FIVE STAR to this place if it was not for my experience with the lady(middle aged blonde lady) at the register. When I came back to pick up my skis and boots and politely approached her to ask her where to go to pick up my skis. She was flat out unprofessional, condensending and rude. She did even finish my sentence. She asked me to pay for tuning fee again even though I had already paid and interrupted me mid sentence again with a rude unprofessional remark when I was explaining the situation to another cashier. The other cashier lady (Brunette) near by politely deescalated the situation. I really enjoyed going to this place, always had a great experience with all the employees and have gotten all my ski gears from there. Great place overall, just avoid working with this cashier lady(middle aged blonde woman). Its damning how one rude unprofessional person can ruin years of trust. The management surely needs to deal with this kind of unwarranted behavior. read more

Stopped in on way back from the slopes, killing time and shopping the sales. They have a great selection of better brand gear and clothing. Their prices are on the higher end of the range but retail space isn't cheap and they're were at least 6 or 7 people in the store to help. Can't get that online. Found a great Obermeyer Jacket after Allison spent a good 15 minutes helping me find the right coat in the right size. She was great and new her product lines. She gave me a little extra discount on it as well. Sure I probably could have ordered it from a website for a few bucks less, but I wouldn't have ordered the size correctly and so begins the return hassle of online shopping. This is a store that stocks a ton of gear and clothing for skiers, that's tough to find, and their prices are in line with Sun and Ski and some other local retailers but the added service of a salesperson who knows what not to sell you is worth a visit. Great place, just don't expect bargain basement pricing for good service. read more

Great all around ski shop. Biggest selection I've found in NH - decent prices, awesome staff and great sales. Good price on tune ups and fast turn around if you are in a hurry. Snowboard Jones - snowboard shop downstairs for the single plankers in the family. The only thing that would make this shop better would be a shop dog to greet customers. If one enjoys high prices along with a healthy does of attitude and incompetence then Ken Jones Ski Mart is the store for you! I have had sales staff ridicule me for purchasing a ski model they did not carry nor would they order it even though they carry the brand of ski because as the sales person said they did not like the ski so they will not order it, yet the ski was well received in reviews. To order and sell or not sell a particular ski is their choice as a business I can deal with that and to not even want to order it for a customer just 'because' they do not personally like a ski is also their choice but to ridicule a customer for purchasing the product at another place is just uncalled for. I have also had an issue with a repair when every time I inquired on the status I was given a different story until it was finally partially completed so totally exasperated paid for what they did , took the skis else where when the job was completed in less then a day at half the cost and 6 times faster then what Ken Jones wanted to complete the job. Their sale prices are equal too or many times more then internet price. Their normal prices are not that great either other ski shops have better or similar prices. These are just a few of the things I have had happen to me over the years at Ken Jones Ski Mart. Your money your choice, me I vote with my wallet and will shop else where. read more

My expectations were blown away by there level of knowledge and attention to detail. I went back this morning to look at googles gloves and a helmet and again was blown away. Terrible customer service at the front counter. Went in 25 minutes before closing and the older woman at the front desk was walking around talking loudly to other staff to make sure we knew they were closing. It was loud statements clearly intended for customers to hear, and understand, that they were closing soon. Couldn't be bothered to assist us and actually shut off the lights in the helmet section/display as we were looking at them. We were there to buy poles and a helmet for my son. Unfortunately he had already picked out the poles or I wouldn't have bought anything. As I was at the register the woman asked if I found everything, I said, "No, we were looking for a helmet too but it seems like you're in a rush to close." To which she responded, "Yes we are". This was still 10 minutes before closing time. The only saving grace of the entire visit was the younger guy from the ski tuning area that helped my son by going in the back to find the right size poles, which are a common size and should have been out on the rack to begin with. The woman at the desk was so rude I won't be back and have already taken my business to another ski retailer in south Nashua who provided excellent service and was rewarded with my patronage. read more

Intermediate and beginner ski reviewers here. We were looking for equipment (boots, helmet) and clothing (pants, jacket, gloves) to buy. Mark took a good 20-30 mins to fit the boots properly, based on comfort, not price. My feet have been savaged by rental gear over the years and Ken Jones Ski Mart (KJ) really helped to solve this. Equipment was all top quality, and catered to all skill levels. PLUS, KJ offered to fit our bindings (2 pairs of ski's total) for free, to ensure they safely fitted the ski's, boots, and us. This was fantastic since we actually purchased the ski's elsewhere, but they didn't care, they wanted us out on the slopes safely and asap! Clothing area is pretty big with a nice selection, most sizes catered for. Staff were knowledgeable and really explained the technology, without forcing the most expensive gear on us. Versus online, there is about a $50 premium at KJ, but it was worth it to really pick the best 'fit', which varied between brands. Thoroughly recommend this shop, great staff, attitude, who just seem to love winter sports. read more

Great place! Family owned. Staff is extremely knowledgable and personable. Prices are competitive. Large selection. Tuning staff are also great. They have decent prices and they are willing to get your gear tuned fast if you're in a hurry.
