HUGE fan of goodboybob!! I work nearby so i love stopping by either before work or during lunch (sometimes both...). They have really scrumptious breakfast burritos all made to order - I think I've tried every single one and they're all good. My favorite is this Wisco Disco (love Hook's cheddar!). And my favorite drink is their yuzu tonic either with espresso or matcha, both are great. Will continue to come here whenever I'm around :)

Goodboybob has been on my list for a while now. I'm often in Santa Monica for work and always searching for a midday caffeine fix. I'm always on the lookout for different coffee shops, so I decided to check out Goodboybob and see what all the buzz is about. I love the exterior of the building with its moss-covered brick, which reminds me of Wrigley Field in Chicago. The building seems to be a repurposed industrial space, and I really appreciate the aesthetic. They have a cool photo machine where you can take a picture, and it prints a receipt with a QR code to save the digital image. I also enjoy the outdoor space with communal tables; it's a nice place to relax and enjoy coffee with friends. They have a cool photo machine where you can take a picture, and it prints a receipt with a QR code to save the digital image. I read that the coffee shop is named after the owner's family dog, Bob. I think that's pretty cool! Bob must be a really good boy. I wish there was a picture of Bob in the shop so people could see a face with the name. I wasn't sure what to order, so I asked the staff for recommendations. The young, skater-looking guy with the beanie and chain suggested the 'Nilla Latte ($7.00) as one of his favorites, so I tried it. Made with their in-house vanilla bean syrup, it had a really nice flavor that was sweet but not overpowering - a well-balanced drink. I've heard they're masters of latte art, and I can confirm it's true. The barista with the bleached hair and Freddy Mercury mustache was an absolute artist. It was so cool to watch him create the latte art right in front of me; I've never seen anything like it up close! I don't mean to sound like a fanboy, but that was pretty awesome. The staff worked diligently to serve drinks promptly, and the shop was consistently busy. I visited at 2 PM on a Thursday and observed a steady stream of customers. I would definitely be back for the 'Nilla Latte and to try other drinks.

Always great food and coffee! I love their seasonal Matcha drinks, and their Santa Marta Gesha pour over coffee is worth it, especially if you drink coffee black. My favorite burrito is the Gold Coast with the mild green sauce on the side. Nice lounge vibes inside for working or reading and plenty of seating outside. FYI: They don't accept cash so be prepared with a card if you want to enjoy the deliciousness!

Can't say enough about this hidden gem. The coffee is to die for. The ambience is a vibe. You can order online to skip the line (note to me for future) as when I arrived there were about 8 people in front of me. Of course I got the almond croissant -- I think I mentioned before it is to die for -- it is what my dreams are made of. Same with the coffee -- it fills my coffee snob criteria.

Gold Coast burrito was absolutely fire - liked it more than the coffee (I had an oat milk latte). Good option in the area, but not worth going out of the way for.

goodboybob is a delightful communal cafe tucked away in the santa monica neighborhood! the long line that extends out their door on weekends is well warranted. their coffee is well balanced and their latte art is impeccable! their breakfast burrito is as amazing as folks claimed, too! ORDER 01. brown butter latte ("BBL"): house-made caramelized butter syrup (containing REAL butter), espresso, & milk 02. gold coast: eggs, beef & potato hash, avocado, pepper jack cheese, scallions, & cilantro crema in a whole wheat wrap i was worried the burrito might be too dry on account of the whole wheat or too greasy because of the hash, but it was neither dry nor greasy! all the ingredients came together beautifully. the burrito felt healthy and satiating, enough to feed two adults! note that this item is only available at the santa monica branch! the "gold coast" is the cafe's take on the california burrito, whereas "the six" is the cafe's take on the standard american breakfast. pick the former if you want something more savory. pick the latter if you want something more sweet. in any case, the hot sauce served on the side is a must! SPACE the open floor plan allows for plenty of seating indoors and outdoors, so the atmosphere feels relaxed. there is one unisex restroom available. WI-FI stable!

Hipster vibes all around. Currently operating in the midst of a parking lot during renovations which detracts from any ambiance. Drinks were nothing to write home about and fell short of the hype I had heard about the place before trying. Not sure if the grind settings were off or tamping too hard but there was a lot of fine grounds at the bottom of this latte. A pro is they seem to make their syrups which is a nice touch but I wouldn't be back for the price and quality

    cosmic cream top,
 matcha latte,
 new moon latte
    Lauren H.

Unfortunately my experience was less ideal than expected, my friends and I got the cosmic cream top (ube cream over coffee), matcha latte, and new moon latte (sesame latte). The flavors sound exciting, but the cosmic cream top lacked both a prominent coffee and ube flavor despite the color, the matcha was quite milky, and the new moon latte did not taste of sesame. It was visibly busy when I visited, but the drinks came out reasonably quick. The cafe itself is quite hidden from the street, tucked away behind what looks like a business complex. The environment is cute, with both indoor and outdoor seating, and there is only street parking.

RIP Chapati!!!! ;( ;( The breakfast menu has been nuked. For a few years they use to make the most amazing take on a breakfast burrito -- the chapati. Crispy exterior, tasty wrap. Exceptional ingredients inside. Now its been replaced by usual ol breakfast burrito you can get for 25% less anywhere else. On top of this nuke, I got my usual big 6. The cheese wasnt melted inside and the eggs didnt taste good, like the boxed eggs from the hospital cafeteria. They were very pale yellow almost white, proof of poor quality yolk. The maple butter was also no longer good either. It was weak, just buttery in the burrito. The actual tortilla is also just whatever doesnt have that nice wheat stone ground taste just gummy. For $14-16, it is not worth it. I hope they bring back the OG chapati as others start to notice. ;(

This is definitely in my top ten list for coffee. Whether pour overs or drip you get fresh, high quality. The decor is simple and comfy with a mesmerizing wall of photos of celebs drinking a cup of Joe. Their excellent food menu is worth noting. I had one the best breakfast burritos I've ever tried with smoky bacon, avocado and eggs. They've also got a wine program with natural wines. This hidden gem is worth checking out.

This nice romantic spot was a morning beach date spot. Where we had some AMAZING coffee and tea that was so good. We beat the usual crowd which was a plus. This cute place is a great pick me up stop on the way to Manhattan Beach, a nice after spot as well. Highly recommend.

Really nice little local coffee shop tucked away in a business area north in Santa Monica. They serve mixed drinks, beer and more in the afternoon hours, but I've only been in the morning. This place was pretty busy the whole time I was there, but kept people moving really well, very good to see! There's a good size space inside to sit down with couches and a couple tables. We grabbed a couch while waiting for coffee and it was surprisingly comfortable! It's a small space, but the way the couches are worked out, it's spaced out well and you don't really hear the people around. There's also a ton of tables outdoors as well. They could probably fit 50 guests comfortably. The coffee was great as well! Served in a nice glass on ice, with good flavor. My partner grabbed a bag of their beans as well! Great looking bag and it tasted great as well! It's a little tucked away, but if you can find it, this is a hidden gem in one of the busiest cities!

Seasonal 2025 menu- Iced guava matcha latte $7 & volcanic sea salt vanilla latte $7.50
    Joellen C.

Solid, does the job exceedingly well by nailing the 1) coffee lounge aspect (great couches, outdoor reclined lawn chairs, high tops) with a nice clean hipster aesthetic 2) marzocco machine does a great well made standard cap for those coffee snobs. They also always have a fun iced latte seasonal menu that although I always succumb to wanting to try something new off this seasonal menu, I always get reminded that the standard vanilla latte or the standard cappuccino is technically (quality wise) better. Their iced lattes are still delicious but doesn't quite hit the spot as other specialty latte spots like Yeems. Each coffee spot has their strength and this coffee spot's strength is definitely their hot latte or hot cap and just the excitement (not necessarily execution) of their flavored iced lattes. 3) PARKING. Finally Santa Monica location with a huge free parking lot with ample parking no matter how long the line gets. 4) dog friendly! Dogs can be inside or outside, they offer dog water, treats and an optional dog entree for $6 (meat, sweet potato, veggies). Got the vanilla volcanic sea salt iced coffee. It was good, not too sweet but the sea salt vanilla cream which was delicious was kinda just whipped heavy cream and didn't integrate with the thin consistency of the iced cold brew under neath. Still enjoyable but just not executed as good as Yeems. The iced matcha guava latte was a little on the sweeter side and presented itself more like a yummy fruity milk tea drink. The guava syrup was made very well and didn't taste artificially sweet.

Worth the short trek. It was a cold Sunday morning, but the place was busy with families, Gen Z'ers, young couples and lots of dogs. Out front, two girlfriends were hanging out with their matchas deep in gossip and clearly enjoying the morning. The matcha seemed popular, but I needed something hot. I appreciated that their drink menu had some personality, because a lot of coffee/matcha spots feel like they're copying from the same boring menu. I got the sea salt mocha and it was delicious. Smooth, chocolatey and just salty enough. My wife got some type of cereal milk latte, which sounded epic but was apparently just mid. Still, we didn't regret the walk. ChitChat is a cool little Sawtelle stop with good drinks, good energy and plenty of dog-friendly vibes. Pro tip: Afterwards, swing-by Yamaguchi Bonsai Nursery kitty-corner from the coffee shop. The bonsai garden is insane.

Over the last couple of years, the charm of this café has faded, culminating in a truly awful experience this morning. The solo staff member working today was incredibly discourteous. Because I had my leashed dog with me, she practically threw me out of the store. While she pointed to the "no dogs allowed" sign, I explained that I was only inside to order and planned to sit outside, something I have done on countless previous visits. After being forced to wait outside, my drink was left sitting on the counter for several minutes. The barista never bothered to let me know it was ready, despite the café being slow. To make matters worse, the beverage was poorly made, with coffee spilled all over the saucer. This isn't the first time I've experienced bad service here, but it will definitely be the last.
