Writing on behalf of my husband. He has very little to complain about- the food is fine and consistent. His one real comment is that every one of the five or six times he's been there, the attitude from every employee is "I hate being here and I hate that you're here too". We don't go places for the service, truly, if the food is solid then we're good. But he says that the workers have earbuds in and they seem actively unwelcoming. You don't know him, but I do- he's really not one to complain. He'd just like it if the atmosphere felt slightly less like an execution chamber. Neither of us is expecting employees to pretend to be HAPPY to see us.... But maybe being tolerant of his existence in your store is doable? read more

I love me some Goodcents. I truly believe it's the best cold sub spot in the country. When I lived out of state, it was one of the only restaurants I couldn't find a replacement for. And you can't beat the chocolate chip cookies, either. This location is a good one. Great spot, clean restaurant, and quick service. I've seen the same employees here for years. Never underestimate the power of a darn good sub sandwich, when mid-day hunger hits punch it back with a marvelous medly of soft bread, cold cuts, crisp vegetables, and savory sauce...don't forget those crunchy chips! And when I have that undeniable craving for a sub I prefer to always try to support the local sub shop instead of a corporate cardboard chain. Goodscents is what I grew up on, I have fond memories of peddling my bike, hair still drippin wet with chlorine water or back weighed down with heavy schoolbooks, on a mission for a turkey sandwich, a giant soft chewy cookie and a bag of chips. These are the sensory memories attached to a Mr. Goodscents and nowadays I don't get to experience them all too often without having a Goodscents near me anymore but, the other day while driving in Mission I was overjoyed to fill my belly as well as my heart with a freshly assembled sub sandwich. It wax 3pm and my heart was hungry for a Penny Club, Goodscents delivered with a clean eating establishment, precisely cut, clean, vibrant veggies and a freindly staff who expertly made my sandwich with layers of freshly sliced roast beef, turkey, and ham. I went with the garlic pepper bread which was new to me and oh so yummy, way superior to a stinky Italian herb and cheese loaf from somewhere...less local. The special squirts of spicy mustard and spicy ranch made that sub especially saucy, just the way I like it and the crunch from the jalapeños and pickles made my taste buds jump for joy. All in all this sandwich experience at Goodscents was one that not only filled my belly but filled my soul with joy, thank you for existing as a Kansas City staple for years and years. I find myself often saying I'm going to write a review, and I don't end up remembering to. However, my experience was so phenomenal today during the Monday lunch rush, that I felt it was necessary to share. I have been a customer of Goodcents for as long as I can remember, but I have been going to this particular store for about a year now. I have had nothing but great experiences, but was particularly pleased today. This store worked together tremendously as a team and I was in and out in five minutes, with a line that I had initially expected to wait in for at least 10-15 minutes. They worked very quickly and were extremely precise. They were an incredible example of teamwork and should be incredibly proud of their store! It had been a long time since going to Goodcents as my taste for deli subs have waned over the years, but you know what? Prettay, prettay good! This Mission location was efficient, friendly, and really made the sandwich well. You know that feeling when they're making your sandwich and sort of just tossing a few things on in haste? Not the case here. This guy was a sandwich maestro and it was as good as I remembered from back in the day. Their bread is pretty good for a (regional) sandwich chain; baked in house, soft, and with good flavor. I got a 12" roast beef with the standard dress + jalapenos and black olives and it really hit the spot. It's a sizable sandwich that's priced at $9 out the door, all very fair. I love love LOVE this goodcents. They always give great service, and the food is awesome. A lot of places, when you order online, they don't do as good as they would if you went to order in person. That is not the case with this restaurant! Whether I order online, or in person, they give the same service and make the same quality of food. Today I ordered online and asked for extra extra extra pickles, and they gave me a BAG of pickles on top of the many pickles they put on the sandwich. They also left me a cute note on my bag! LOL! Better than subway! Came on my visit to Kansas and was skeptical since the name is weird but apparently the jingle is what made them! The bread is so soft! Although they cut through the whole bread not just half so things are spilling out as you pick it up to eat. read more

I never thought I'd be impressed enough with a Goodcents to write a review about it but here we are! I've not been to a cleaner Goodcents. Seriously, the interior of this particular location is spotless and also very spacious so you can come with a big group. Parking out front is limited and kind of tough since it's right off Johnson Dr. but there's ample parking behind the restaurant. The staff was really helpful and accommodating, which was nice because I was ordering for a group and had one particularly high maintenance order. Next time I'm craving Goodcents I'll definitely go to this one! read more

Clean, fast and fresh. I have gone in a few times for lunch and have ordered delivery several times. They are close to work and are one of 5 places that will deliver to us. The never skimp on the meat or condiments. When I ask for extra pickles they pile them high. Staff is courteous and efficient. This is by far the worst Goodcents location I have ever been to. I've given it chance and chance again because it's the closest one to me. I just couldn't believe it was the same restaurant chain when compared to the 87th street location. The 5+ times I've been to this location the staff was rude, they can't handle simple instructions. Be careful asking to get your sandwich toasted here, they hate that for some reason. Twice they put the wrong toppings on when I only ever get 3 toppings. Also they barely give you any meat compared to other locations, that 30% extra meat claim doesn't not apply to this location. Don't let this location fool you into thinking Goodcents isn't delicious and great because it is, just not this joke of a store. Save yourself the money and disappointment and just drive a little further to the 87th street location. Night and day difference, it's actually insane to think it's the same chain. read more

Refused to honor the promotion going on through the app, I didn't want to pay through the app so I walked into the store, and they tried to make me pay more money for the same item just because I didn't order through the app. I used to come here a lot, now I will never go to this location again. read more

After having an intense discussion between Planet Sub vs Mr Goodcents while we were waiting for our postmates to deliver our Planet Subs, I was inspired to go get Mr Goodcents for lunch. I went on a Monday and saw their special of the day was a $5 8 inch Italian. I walked in and he restaurant was pretty empty, but it was 2 in the afternoon. I ordered the Italian on wheat bread and my sandwich maker sliced the pepperoni, salami, and provolone right in front of me. I loaded it vinegar and veggies: lettuce, banana peppers, green peppers, pickles, and lettuce. I didn't get any sides of a drink. I took my sandwich with me back to work and devoured it. It was pretty good! However, it did not look like 8 inches of sandwich, maybe only like 6 inches. The real question though is is it better than Planet Sub? Honestly I would say they're pretty comparable. If I'm hungry for a sandwich, I'll just stick with subway read more

I work near this Goodcents (in Mission) and have used them for years. They deliver consistently fresh food. I use them at least every other week. In the years we have been at this location I think they've gotten all two of my orders wrong. Yes, that's 2 out of like 60 orders. And one order late (many times they deliver faster than their website says they will). Their drivers are always friendly. All in all I have to say it's one of my BEST "fast food" restaurant experiences, on a consistent yearly basis. (And I am not ordering catering - i am only ordering lunch for myself). read more

Sandwich was ok ordered online but when went to pick up my sandwich the lady didn't know how to add the birthday free sub promo in which did not give me a code to add when checked out online. Had points to get chips and she said I would have to order that online to get my points to not have to pay.
