I have an unhealthy obsession with Good Co. Kitchen & Cantina. I crave it all too often. First, it's SUPER hard to find brown/red enchi sauce that doesn't have meet in it, and theirs is meatless--and it's really good! I always get the cheese enchies, an order of queso... and a damn "Goode" frozen margarita. I think they have the best margaritas in Houston right now (up there with Eight Row Flint). And you can get a pitcher of it, too. Still a fan of the elote, campechana, and charred romaine salad. Think I'm gonna go there this weekend now... Amazing service! Our waitress was phenomenal! She was conscious of our dietary restrictions, allergies, and even preferences. The food was okay. My barbacoa tacos were good but a little fatty and greasy. My husband loved his venison sausage, scrambled eggs, and potatoes. My friend also loved her breakfast fajita plate and we all loved the salads they came with! Amazing Mexican coffee as well. Perfect for a Saturday brunch if you want some peace before the hungover crowd wanders in around noon. I love what they've done with the space that was once La Griglia! I won't tell a lie, this restaurant has never been on my must visit list but im glad I did. I came for a bday celebration and it was nice. It was free garage parking. Nice ambiance. Andre was our server and he was AMAZING. Any thing we asked for we received. That prickly pear margarita and the empanadas were top of the list for me! The homemade tortillas were great too! Walking into Goode Company, right away you feel that it is going to be a great experience. I went twice this week, first with my parents, then with my colleagues. The vibes are very upscale, but also cozy. The bathrooms were very nice. All the waitstaff have a very soft spoken professionalism to them. Biggest win in my book at a place like this is great salsa served warm. I just need them to keep that bowl full!! I am perfectly happy with that salsa and a pitcher of their frozen house marg to share. The fajitas were amazing. Cooked medium, very tender & juicy. The onions were actually caramelized. Usually I ask places to burn the onion because they're usually undercooked. I forgot this time and was pleasantly surprised they caramelized them. The flour tortillas were great. The accoutrements supported everything. I could have done without the street corn, it felt more like a cream corn than what I was looking for, but maybe I misunderstood. Overall, My parents said their place beat El Tiempo Cantina! The second time I went, I introduced my colleagues to this place. The margs and salsa were consistently good. This time I got the beef quesadillas. They were a little underwhelming for me. I probably would have like a thicker tortilla to retain more crispiness. Went to Goode Co. Cantina for my birthday dinner with my family, and it was such a great experience! We ordered the Parrillada Familiar, which was plenty of food for the six of us. It came with a variety of meats -- 1 lb of fajitas (your choice of beef, chicken, or combo), a jalapeño cheese smoked sausage, two Texas quail, four jumbo Gulf shrimp, and 1/2 lb of pork carnitas. Definitely an interesting assortment! Not everything was my personal favorite, and in hindsight I think I would have just gone with the classic beef fajitas, but it was fun to try so many different flavors in one meal. The chips and salsa to start were perfect -- the salsa had amazing flavor and the chips were light and crispy, just how I like them. The interior has such a great aesthetic and a fun, elevated vibe. The service matched the atmosphere perfectly -- friendly, attentive, and made the whole evening feel special. We wrapped up with churros for dessert, and they were the perfect sweet finish to the night -- warm, crisp, and delicious. Goode Co. Cantina is definitely more upscale and unique compared to your typical Tex-Mex chain, which made it the perfect spot to celebrate my birthday. Vibrant, walkable area- many other restaurants and little shops to peruse. This place is relatively new and feels that way. Modern, open airy vibe. Would be a great place to unwind after work for a happy hour type mood as well. Seated in the patio- complimentary nachos and salsa were warm-crunchy-savory-5/5 Ordered a frozen mixto marg- 5/5 Kids are picky crew who enjoyed their chicken taco soo much that they ordered a second one.... Not common considering they are picky and usually eat like birds. 5/5 I ordered the comida deluxe which is kind of a sampler of steak fajita , tamale and a chicken enchilada- Variety on this dish was great-the food was on point- tasted fresh- hit the spot kinda thing-4/5. Steak fajita met expectations and the tamale was a highlight. The 1836 salad w chicken was also fresh, crunchy, and delicious. 5/5. And at some point was feeling like i was just shoveling food into myself. I became numb from eating- bordering on a food contentment and acquired Pickwickian syndrome. We made a reservation for 5/10/26 and they would not accommodate our seating preferences of a table. The place was 80% empty but the manager (blonde lady) refused to accommodate us even though we 1) had a reservation 2) are regulars there and go at least once a month. Many times when we go, we are only 1 of two tables. There were plenty of empty tables and booths today. So it is not like there was no room for any other reservations to sit. I noticed we were the only Mexican people there. So perhaps it is best you not go there if you are Mexican, because even if we had reservations she would not let us sit in a table. Like I said, we go there all the time and when there are no customers there they will let us sit where we want. But today not even with the reservation could we get a table. First time ever to visit this new establishment! I was excited to try it since I knew their taqueria has been excellent for decades. After checking 4 times by calling and asking repeatedly (yeah, I'm one of those people), I was able to confirm the cheese enchilada sauce does NOT contain any meat product! Yay for me! I haven't given up cheese yet, so yeah that's on me. Anyway, the beans and rice do contain animal products, so they subbed them for a yummy side salad that even had fresh fruit, pepitas and all sorts of yummy veggies. It was so yummy! My friend enjoyed his shrimp dish as well although I didn't get a photo. I think they were tostadas? I'm a big fan of all Goode establishments so I had no doubt this would work out for us on a first time visit. My friend is from Mexico and mentioned there is a museum in Quaterero (sp?) all about calendars. This restaurant is just MEH. Living in Houston, you can find so many better options that are more authentic and flavorful when it comes to Mexican food. I ordered a margarita in the larger glass. It was tasty and my favorite part of the whole experience I got it with tajin on the rim. I will say it does take you a while to drink as it is pretty frozen so I would get it on the rocks if you're looking for something that's not going to take you forever to drink. For my entrée, I ordered the combo fajitas they came with all the fixings, but only offered a pinch of cheese so I had to ask them to bring out additional cheese. It came with a side of refried beans and rice. I was not a fan of the rice thought. For dessert we ordered sopapillas which were overcooked. We did let our waiter know and they offered to remake or give us something else but we were already getting up to leave at that point. Service was OK nothing to write home about. Wouldn't recommend this restaurant if you truly want to enjoy your meal and experience. read more

I go here frequently and the food is great! Two issues bug me. One, the Platoes comedia is 3 $ higher at this location $29 versus 26$ at other locations why is that? Also I had ordered an extra side of beef fajita with my meal and it always cost me $15 extra which is ok but last night they charged me $20 for the same side dish. I called the manager over and she said that is always what we charge for 5oz of extra. Not true!!! She made no attempt to adjust the amount but I reflected the difference in the tip amount I gave. Considering the meal I ordered was $29 charging $20 is an extra side of beef is a bit over the top! Must be the IRAN war that caused the price to go up $5!! It's a good place but feel they take advantage a better response to my issue could have been. We are sorry for the misunderstanding of the price increase so we will refund the 5$ difference! Nice vibes, very good decor. I informed the waitress of my gluten allergy and they were very accommodating, letting me know what was safe to eat and what wasnt. The chicken fajitas were a little bland of course, but I'll chalk that up to the og sauce being omitted because it contains gluten. This place is on the pricey side unfortunately, and I assume it's because it's a scratch kitchen restaurant with locally sourced ingredients. Wasn't a fan of the charra beans or warm salsa. Two words: bad quality. I went the first week. It was open and had a bad experience with the service and the food quality. I wrote it off as first week adjustments. Gave it a second shot, this past Sunday, and unfortunately, they have not learned from their mistakes. Had the fish tacos and they were Bland with zero flavor. Had the crunchy tostada, and the meat is cold and unappetizing. For whatever reason, this is the blandest Tex-Mex food in Houston. Which is a shame because the goodie company Taqueria is great! The margaritas were marginal at best . Plus, the drink service was super slow, I think the bartenders are inexperienced or they just don't know how to make a good margarita.. people were actually ordering margaritas when additional shot because you couldn't taste the alcohol. Bottom line, if you're looking for bland, Tex Mex food that caters to the River Oaks crowd then come here. If you want better food, then go to El Tiempo or any other established a restaurant with better Mexican food quality. I will definitely not come back here! read more

Ate here for probably the 10th time tonight. Not too busy Tuesday night. It's close to the house. I'm not sure I'll come back. The food is what it is, Mexican food. The only menu item I really like is the 1836 salad at lunch. Otherwise it's not distinctive. It's fine. The frozen margaritas are sugar bombs. Nothing special. Typical out-of-the-machine all sugar and little tequila margaritas. What really got me was the valet parking situation. $10 on the app + $1.50 convenience fee + tip. The suggested tips in the app are $5, 8 or $10. A proposed $10 tip on top of the $11.50 it cost me to park my car 20 feet from the front door! So I tipped $5 and spent $16.50 to get my car that was right out front. These valet parking situations are out of control. This isn't the only place. Restaurants need to validate the ticket and pay for the parking, leave the tip to the customer. read more

Pathetic host at the front lying about reservations at 5:15. We walked in with our 91 year old mother with a walker and caretaker and the host (some guy with long hair with a hair clip) had a total disregard for accommodating the elderly in a close to empty restaurant. They finally allowed us to sit outside instead of in the bar. Anyone who treats the elderly in this manner should be reevaluated as an employee. He also laughed as I left and pointed out that there were many empty tables at 6:30. We will not be back! We've always enjoyed the Goode Co Tex Mex in the Heights,; checked out this new location in River Oaks. They actually ran out of silverware. It took 15 minutes after ordering for a frozen margarita to arrive. Meal was excellent. Then it took 15 minutes to check out. Servers ran out of personal kiosks to do the transactions. We have had the takeout from there many times, and had the Campechana at other Goode Co. Seafood restuarants. It is a delightful blend of shrimp, salsa, and avocado. Nice decor and hostesses, however, everything else needs attention. We sat at the bar prior to going to the Rodeo last night and it took nearly 10 minutes to get service, lots of staff standing around shooting the sh**. We had so many bartenders coming around after the initial wait that I was not sure who was doing what and I don't think they did either. One bartender in particular was super rude, we let her know we were ready to order and when she finally decided she was ready to help she brought a watermelon margarita (funny thing no one in our party was drinking that margarita). We literally said to her "we are ready to order" and she some how thought we wanted a random drink which she obviously messed up and want to it put on a tab and she thought we would take it. After that her attitude was just plan high school, we had to get the manager involved.
