Came here for dinner on a Wednesday night family. We had reservations so we were lucky because every table was taken at 6pm. We were a party of 6. Our waitress Lily was prompt with getting us our drinks... excellent Cosmopolitans, & Aperol Spritz's. Our appetizers were all excellent the fried calamari was perfect and the sauce was heaven!! We had the clams casino and the zucchini fritti everything was scraped clean. The warm bread with oil and slaw was a perfect touch and nice combination!! Our dinners were all delicious not one complaint. I had the Veal Saltimbucco which I've never had before and it was delicious. Around the table was Chicken Saltimbucco with linguine (Al dente) with garlic & oil, the Pork Chop special was a huge portion, Cheese Ravioli with shrimp & spinach in a vodka cream sauce, Linguine Vongole in white sauce overflowing with clams was polished off, and the Linguine Frutti Di Mare Fra Diablo was a creation!! Everything was plated exceptionally please look at my pictures to see!! We also had two Tarfufo's and a cappuccino!! The atmosphere was amazing with a live singer at the "Shoe Shine" Bar that you could hear well into the restaurant. I've heard many great things about this restaurant and am so happy I finally was able to visit. The owner Sammy is on another level, one of the nicest most genuine owners I've ever met. My step mother loved the red sauce that came with the calamari and to her surprise he came as we were leaving and gave her a good size portion of the sauce to take home!! That's what I call hospitality!! We all left full and very happy. I had my kids birthday there this past Saturday night. We were a group of 20 and the place was full upstairs and down (where we were). I was surprised for August but delighted the whole evening! I give 20 out of 20 stars for great food and equal service! EVERYONE mentioned to me how much they enjoyed. Many will be returning and some of them it was their first time. Went here on a Monday night for a company dinner. The seating for 10 was long banquette style seating so a little hard to converse with everyone. The decorations are all themed to the movie and overall adds a nice touch. It's comfortable atmosphere - family friendly. Valet parking and coat check are an added bonus. Wait staff was friendly. Our waitress was literally on her second day so we were patient with her but it did distract from the overall experience for me personally. She was attentive for the most part so no real complaints. The bus staff was a little abrupt. They took plates and silverware without really checking as we were enjoying appetizers. It was a bit odd. The menu had a good selection of different meats and fish and pasta dishes. They also offered specials which several of our party tried. I had the 'Veal Romantico' which was veal cutlets layered with slices of eggplant, mozzarella and tomato. Penne pasta with peas was the side. And everything was dressed in a sherry brown sauce. Overall the presentation was very nice. The food was cooked well, but it lacked flavor and I felt needed more salt and pepper at the very least. Other colleagues had similar comments that overall the food was well prepared but lacked anything really memorable. The real shining star of the evening was the dessert! The carrot cake was absolutely delicious! I'd go back just for that! It was moist and flavorful, chock full of raisins, carrots and nuts. Never been, heard it was great. Wasn't great. 1. Valet parking, which I didn't expect. No biggie. Street parking if you can find it - street parking by permit on lots of streets. 2. 7 pm on a Thursday. Sat at the bar with a friend who thinks the place deserves a Michelin Star and "you have to go" there. 3. I had the hot antipasto for 1. It was SUPPOSED to come with stuffed mushroom and eggplant rollatini. IT DID NOT. Those 2 items were replaced with some toast with cheese - basically four 1 inch squares of .... pizza made on bread...an artichoke heart cut in half, and a couple sun-dried tomatoes b/c I asked for the mussels to be fra d'avilo. Also, 2 shrimp, 2 stuffed clams, and 2 mussels on the half shell. The clams were stuffed with stuffing as I didn't find the clams. The shrimp were good. The mussels were tough. The artichoke hearts were Meh. I did not eat the bread squares pretending to be pizza. I ordered what I expected to get based on their menu - 2 items were missing, and 4 little pieces of bread pizza, an artichoke heart, and 2 sun-dried tomatoes didn't cut it, or make up for the missing items. I said to the bartender "this was supposed to come with eggplant rollatini and stuffed mushroom" - the response was a blank stare then a smile. Hello? I wasn't complaining, I was making a statement and honestly expecting an answer like.....oh, maybe they ran out of ingredients and made a substitution. Should I have gone to find the manager or speak to the hostess? I didn't. Overall, it was loud, there was a fella at the bar playing and occasionally singing 1960s Italian songs. A patron sang My Way. I don't know if this is a usual thing, but I understood there'd be music on a Thursday night. Overall, the patrons were having a nice time as there was a birthday party going on, the patrons were friendly, seemed to be some regulars at the bar, but I don't think I'd go out of my way to be there again. read more

Wow wow wow! This restaurant is full of history and beauty. The food is top tier. Fresh hot bread served with a dipping sauce of oil, balsamic, red chile peppers, and white cheese when you get seated. I got the lunch special of lobster ravioli with shrimp and peas. So filling and fresh ingredients. The staff is so friendly and welcoming it really brings a warmth to atmosphere. The staff was very talkative and attentive with A+ customer service and even recommended a few favorites. This is the classic Italian style restaurant you need to try. What a horrible first time experience. Such a shame because for a family owned business, you'd expect better. Got there at 7.. there were maybe 8 tables with people in the restaurant (all they can fit). Couple of open tables. Our waitress came over & got our drinks. My party (4 of us), 2 which came at 7:15 sat & we ordered calamari and mozzarella carozza. Both appetizers were eh. We ate because we were hungry (emphasize on hungry). The calamari wasn't all special, it's basic like most restaurants. We finished around 7:30 and ordered our dishes. Two which were chicken parm dishes, a pasta dish & a fish dish. My friend had to leave by 8:15 so we were expecting the entrees to be served by 8. Still waited past then and by 8:15 my friend had to leave (so upsetting). I could make these dishes quicker. Our server then told us that the food was coming out.. it wasn't. The food was served at 8:45. Almost an entire hour, for a slow night which was unacceptable. Around before the food came out, I asked the manager where the food was that it was taking long. What we got in response was basically questioning our ordering skill by saying we didn't order properly, asked us how many appetizers we had, we didn't order everything all together, basically treating us like we went out to eat. It took the 3 of us back. I could not believe the response from this manager. I asked the server as he walked away where the owner was and he came out to the table. I was very frustrated from the managers comments towards my friends and the owner apologized and offered a free drink/dessert. I didn't take a bite of my food because by then I wasn't hungry. It's a shame because the restaurant has potential, but for the size of my closet, the kitchen shouldn't have been as slow as it was. Service was alright, she could have came to the table more to apologize for the wait more than once. I will never be back here ever again. Try Osteria in Garfield, don't waste your time. read more

Haven't been here in years. Service was extremely slow had to ask for water twice after initial serving asked for dipping sauce for our bread asked for more but it never came. Food was good but slow basically had to ask for everything two or three times ambience was fine, but if there was music on the weekend, it would be too noisy for me. read more

My annual birthday gift to my Mother is a meal at our favorite restaurant and Goodfellas did not disappoint. Three of us had the veal and I always say the best veal in the state. Two Veal Parmigianas and one Veal Conte. All outstanding. My sister had the Lamb Chop special which was perfect as well. Always a delight to see Sammy, my personal favorite maître d. Even with living a mile away, I haven't experienced this restaurant until a week ago. The ambiance is excellent and reminds you of an old school Italian restaurant. The menu is quite large plus they have great daily specials. The food is excellent. Everyone enjoyed their food. The service was also wonderful and many people checked on us during the night. The small restaurant can get loud if there is a band or singer, so be aware of that. read more

My company likes to have dinner here whenever we have a national business meeting and the team from all over the country flies in. Always a special treat. This was the first time that I ordered a rack of lamb and it did not disappoint. I ordered it cooked medium and it turned out perfect. Along side we ordered appetizers to include shoestring zucchini, stuffed mushroom, calamari. Pricey but delicious. Parking is quite tight and they do valet. It is a small place so I would definitely recommend to make reservations ahead of time. Service team was good and always came to clear and take our plates at the table to make room for the next dishes. Food was very delicious and our group basically had a great time. The exception is that the owner/manager chose to not turn on the air conditioning tonight. It was not a good experience for any of us. The staff kept saying there was a problem with the A/C unit. Sure there is. I said it would work if someone turned it on.One said it was maintained at that temperature and then the server apologized so many times for the inconvenience. Trust me that with 97 degree temps, you do not want to be in that restaurant. Not even a fan ran to at least offer some comfort. Definitely do not go there in high heat summer. You will be uncomfortable all the way through. read more

The food was absolutely amazing and for the price the quality was perfect. The service was quick and attentive and the place inside was beautiful and peaceful. The only thing that should've been better is the dessert prices it was tasty but $14 for a small dessert should be a little cheaper. Highly recommend this restaurant though. read more

Inside is decorated in goodfellas pics- posters and some personal photos. Modest interior makes you feel at ease and not at a pretentious restaurant.
