I had a reservation for 7pm, now typically you don't need a reservation but because I had a group of 7 I didn't want to just walk in. My table wasn't ready, we were told 5 minutes well 5 minutes passed and I was not sat until 730pm. The manager said once we sit you we will get you an appetizer on us. What does he bring us, 1 platter with 3 potato skins, how will that make 7 people happy? They didn't even ask us if we wanted that, I'm sorry you should have let us pick the appetizer we would eat and at least bring 2 of them to the table. THEN we went to order drinks, they told us they didn't have any pineapple juice but they are a full service bar, then the blue moon was horrible it tasted like it was going bad. My one guest asked for another beverage but the other one was afraid to send it back. Another guest ordered a Long Island Iced Tea and it was like no alcohol and watered down. Our table continued to fill up with plates from bread and butter. The menu became a lot smaller than what it used to be. When we sat down we were shocked. Also our table was very uncomfortable for 7 people in a corner. Now I'm a regular there, they just don't know me by name but this was the worst service I've ever had. read more

I would not recommend bringing kids to this place on a Saturday. They do karaoke and new management doesn't have control of this, they let kids sit a bar, lets them hear and sing inappropriate songs with cursed words. The worst part is that they don't do anything about it. I have already also reported it to authorities.... Just went to a wedding rehearsal dinner at Firehouse. I don't live in New Jersey, so this was my first time. The biggest issue with the dinner was lack of space. The room upstairs was cute, but so cramped. I'm not sure if extra people came or they are just trying to accommodate too many people, but it was very difficult to walk around and even sitting at my table was very uncomfortable. Service was okay. Weird part was one of the waitresses refused to take any silverware so we had dirty silverware on the table for the whole dinner. Food was also just okay. Appetizers were good, but cold. Dinner was pretty standard-- we had potatoes, chicken picatta, sausage and peppers, vodka pasta, and maybe one or two other things. Pasta and sausage were the stand-outs. Didn't care for the chicken at all. If I was in the area again, I would try a regular dinner because the pizza was pretty good. read more

Their food is one of the best I had in a long time everything we ordered was excellent. Their gravy cheese fries are crispy with tasty gravy simply delicious. My daughters' Mac & Cheese was so so good...the best cheese sauce ...there were bread crumbs on top and portions were big. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich, 10 out of 10. The chicken was crispy with amazing buffalo flavor. The side basket of fries were crispy and just had the best flavor. Just too good. If you haven't been to this restaurant definitely try it. Inside is a beautiful brick interior decked out in firefighting memorabilia which is enough to make firefighters and first responders feel at home. My partner and I came here for the first time to celebrate restaurant week by having dinner tonight. The menu reflects some of the time honored dishes favored by firehouses, from hamburgers, to pasta, to fish, there is a broad range of American dishes, all hearty. Greeted by our server Summer who brought out the complimentary warm bread. We skipped the appetizers and went straight for our entrees beginning with the Open Sliced Steak Platter consisting of sliced flank steak on garlic bread with Jersey fries and onion rings & the Rigatoni Bolognese (Mayor Riggs Special) with Slow cooked veal, beef & pork with their homemade tomato sauce. Our meal came with either a side salad or beef stew soup. The food was brought out hot, well seasoned but nothing to write home about and very portion. We didn't have any room for desserts. A glass of reisling led me to order their early dinner special of broiled flounder with veggies and risotto and it was Fabulous!! Started with split pea soup and that was delicious too. A table nearby ordered a Caesar salad and I'll have to get that on another visit. My fish was in a lemon sauce and the green beans were sautéed in heavenly garlic and wow wow wow. So good. I cleaned the plate! And only $10 for soup or salad and the dinner. Soda has free refills. Wait staff was friendly. Now, these gals are 8 and 6 so, I took the entire recommendation with a grain of salt.....BOY WAS I WRONG . OMG!
