My wife and I truly enjoyed our visit to this spirited pizza joint in Ludlow. The staff were clearly happy to be there and greeted us enthusiastically. We ordered two small pizzas. Both were quite tasty. Lots of toppings to choose from. The patio where we ate was shady and overlooked an interesting shopping area. I would not recommend stopping here. It's a very small establishment with barely any seating and on top of that you need to seat yourself. In addition, to order any food, you have to order it at the counter, so you're pretty much doing all of the work. Absolutely the best pizza anywhere around Okemo!! We have been coming to Goodman's for years now and it is as consistent and spectacular as ever! We always do take out but every time we have been there, the cashiers and the pizza makers are so personable and engaging. We were a little early tonight but they asked us if we wanted a beer and talk to us the entire time. The pool table beckoned but the guys were too awesome to leave. After a great day of skiing at Okemo I wanted to grab a quick bite for dinner and pizza sounded good so I figured I would give Goodman's America Pie a chance since it is just down the road from the entrance to Okemo. Located in a small cluster of shops you find a cool funky shop making wood fired pizza. The inside is weird and playful in the good way; when you walk in the order counter is a colorful van and there is all kinds of interesting decor. The seating area has a pool table and a couple of the tables have converted skilift chairs. The menu is pizzas and some salads; as is my usual approach I like to get a cheese pizza as this is the best way to try a pizza. I ordered a large cheese by phone and they said it would be about 15 minutes. When I got to the shop they let me know that it would be a bit longer since they had to double an order in front of me. The pizza making operation has one guy stretching the dough, another topping the pizza and a third manning the wood fired oven which can only handle a couple of pizzas at a time. The good news is that since this is a thin crust and a very hot oven the actual cook time is short. When the pizza came out it filled the box and the pizza is not quite a perfect circle. There are a number of slightly charred parts, the cheese is fully cooked and there are large pieces of tomato around the outer edge. The slices are great, a bit soft and floppy in the middle, crisper outside and the outer crust is crisp like a cracker. The cheese is tangy and just a bit greasy while the sauce is mild and sweet with the tomato hunks adding flavor and texture. Overall one of the best pizzas I have had since they use high quality ingredients, cook the pizza expertly and aren't afraid to be a bit quirky. I would highly recommend Goodman's American Pizza, but it may not be for everyone. They are making an idiosyncratic pizza that is not really mainstream, but is delicious and really well done. If you are in the area give them a try. read more

We are from NJ, originally Delco PA. We know our pizza. That being said, this must actually be the one and only good pizza place in VT! I prefer a little more sauce, but the crust was very thin, very good, cooked perfectly. I don't think the crust could handle any more sauce. Staff was friendly and attentive and prices were reasonable they have outdoor seating in the back overlooking a creek if you want to eat with a nice serene view. My daughter got the Caesar salad with chicken and it was also wonderful. She ate the whole thing and helped me eat my pie. Very limited indoor seating so if you go in the colder months you might want to do takeout. Pizza made just the way I like it, crispy. Their Luau pizza with pineapple and ham is the BEST EVER! It is topped with a smoky sauce that sets off the flavors perfectly. YUM. Sooooo good! What a hidden gem of a stop - It's set back. Was recommended by a good friend and so glad we poked on in. Wood fired pizza that was so delicious. When you walk in, you should be greeted. If it's super busy, I get it. But after 15 mins of looking at the pizza makers and the meth dude who only wants to talk about his job and the shitty drive and everything else wrong w the world, u should be greeted or at least be asked why you're there staring at the people making pizzas . But when new customers walk in, nobody notices. The issue here is rural Vermont...no one wants to work hard or at all When you're cutting a pizza in the box, you shouldn't be yelling. When you yell you spray saliva And who wants that all over their pies? Maybe new yawkas. No one learns respect and customer service. Why? Cuz no one owns the place. And they just don't care. I never heard of that at a pizza place, but we ended up trying again the next day. We ordered two of the small pizzas: Artic Cluck and the Diablo Chicken. Both were fantastic! The Artic Cluck tasted so fresh and each bite was a balance mouthful of tomato, basil and chicken. The Diablo Chicken was my favorite out of the two just because I loved the heat. My nephew and nieces were in search of a delicious slice of good ol' wood fired pizza after an exhausting day of terrorizing the slopes, and boy did Goodman's American Pie satisfy my fixed necessities. The atmosphere and music made me feel right at home, grooving and moving like the fellas and I back in the 80s. The maple bacon and outlaw pies were absolutely spectacular, a round of applause to the young pups spinning the dough and spreading the sauce. The only issue was ordering online the second time and waiting two hours just to have to pick up the dang cheesy pie. Do you know what happens when a 6 year old is hungry and can't eat for 2 hours? The pizza is really fantastic. A neighbor told me to try it and I love woodfired pizza, so I happily obliged. I got the vegetarian and it was packed full of flavor and baked perfectly. Not burnt, not underdone. The ingredients tasted like quality and the cheese was not overdone, just perfect amount and high quality. My only suggestion or caveat would be - I ordered a salad. They offer "Cesars" but it was really just a big pile of chopped romaine in a to go box with a side of Cesar dressed (obviously from a bottle) and a tiny container of croutons. I think they should create a salad that even slightly mimics the quality of their pizza. Or just scrape salads from the menu. The contrast between the quality o the pizza vs the lame, loveless salad impacts my overall impression of my dinner. All that being said, I will definitely be back for more pizza. read more

We called earlier in the day to schedule a later takeout order at the end of a long drive, but still ended up with a bit of wait since they were still busy at the tail end of dinner service. While I love a thin crust, woodfired scorching on one side yet also a doughy, underbaked crust left me wishing they had rotated one more time in the crowded oven. Our custom order ended up being more expensive than the pizza we got in Stowe, so their specialty pizzas are the most cost effective way to go. Dropped in here with the kids after a fun ski day. The place was fairly busy with a constant flow of people picking up pizza. The tables are first come first grabbed. Then you go and order at the counter. Or you take the risk and order first and hope some space frees up. There are maybe 6 tables downstairs and 3 upstairs. Staff were super friendly even when busy. We were allowed to customize our pizza and on mine I was debating between 2 similar ones so the lady had one on either side for me. Sizes are 12 and 16 inch. We had one big and one small between 4 of us and it worked well but maybe if you are hungrier would need more. There are a few fun / funky decorations, and upstairs a throwback arcade section with a few games for kids. Downstairs a pool table and a couple of the dining tables have seats made from lift chairs suspending on poles. They have a bar section and a few local beers. Prices are all reasonable. read more
