We came this year as a party of 8 and man were we disappointed. We checked in for our reservation and the young woman seemed surprised to see us there. They squeezed us into a table of 6 (ended up fine). We ordered 4 cocktails and 4 sodas. We also ordered 2 appetizers (the tuna nachos and breaded cauliflower) they came out in less than 5 minutes. That's a problem imo. I ordered the chicken Milanese. Sooooooo much arugula salad but that was dressed nicely. The chicken was super crispy but it was easy to tell it had been fried earlier and reheated. It was so dry! The pasta was delicious. The steak tips were not marinated as advertised. Our glasses were empty for most of the meal, and our waitress was nowhere to be found for long stretches. Soooooooo glad we found this place! Being diehard skiers, we often dine on the mountain at a sit down restaurant as we try to avoid cafeterias and their haste and crowded atmosphere. We came to this resort during Okemo's closing weekend, and with the oatmeal snow, we got tired by lunch, so we decided to try the local restaurants. After a Yelp search, we decided on Calcutta's. The white tablecloth restaurant is casual but with a country club ambiance which gives it an air of dignity and class. The immaculate restrooms, the carefully set tables and of course, the excellent service makes this venue stand above much of the competition. After two glasses of a superb Sauvignon Blanc, we started the faire with their calamari which was absolutely crispy and tasty. I then had their Fish & Chips plate, with a beer battered monk fish, malt vinegar aioli, and fries. The fish was delicious and mouth-melting. My spouse had the Farmhouse Burger and it was succulent, with the caramelized onions adding a most amazing taste to the concoction. One highlight of the evening was the selection of local micro and nanobreweries. Each better than the other. Superb time. read more

So there's a lot to like here. Great space. Good for groups. And they had music on a Thursday night of holiday week. The menu is straight up American and there's something for everyone. We loved the tuna nachos. Great wontons and good amount of tuna. A welcome mix from Mexican nachos. The meatball was full of lots of flavor; I loved the sauce with it. The sprouts were also good too. For main dishes, the haddock and salmon were good and kids loved the burgers and fries. The server also told us that the kitchen was busy yet our apps came out at a reasonable pace so all was good there. But all is not perfect. We did not order the meatball app and then we tried to return it we couldn't find a server to be found. So after 10 mins we just resigned ourselves to it. The salmon was supposed to come with stir fried mixed vegetables. It did not. It came with broccoli. Just a bit disappointing. And we got seated right next to the guitarist with a loud speaker on top of us. Far too close for a normal dinner. I couldn't hear half the night. Needing to pick up our new skis, we decided to meet up with our son and girlfriend and take them out for a nice meal. We didn't realize that on Sunday many restaurants are closed, and those that were open near the slopes at 4pm were naturally packed. We decided to give Calcutta's a try since it was a little away from the slopes. The parking lot was empty - not a good sign at that time. The restaurant is typical golf course atmosphere, simple and clean. The host was a pleasant young man, I wish he had been our server. The waitress didn't smile the whole time we were there. She appeared annoyed that we were not ready to order when she arrived with our drinks. After our meal arrived, she showed up once to refill our water and didn't see her again until we finished our meal. The place was not busy - two other tables of two people each. It felt that she believed that she was doing us a favor by serving us, very awkward. My son enjoyed his hamburger but just average, and his girlfriend found the Orecchieette flavorful but small amount. My husband had Ray's Reuben, especially given the $18 price, we were shocked to see that it was literally two slices of "thin sliced corned beef" throughout the sandwich. I had the Chicken Milanese which was one fried chicken breast with minimal flavor and a small amount of arugala salad on the side. Presentation was pretty but a good meal is based on the totality of the experience. Recently went on a snowboarding trip to Okemo and got dinner here! There aren't too many places to eat very close to the mountain so they all fill up pretty quickly. My friends and I booked this weekend trip only a couple days in advance and didn't really have a chance to make dinner reservations. Our airbnb host recommended Calcutta's because it has great food and it seems like not too many people know about it. Four of us went at peak dinner time with no reservation and we didn't have to wait at all! The place itself was really nice and there were tvs all over showing different snowboarding and sporting events which we loved. The staff was really kind and attentive and the food was great. Had a gathering of about 12 people for dinner out on patio, nice but unprepared waitress was the best part of experience. They were not busy at all, the wait for drink orders was ridiculous, they were out of half their specialty drinks. service super slow for ordering and for food arrival. i ordered the "steak" medium rare, what a joke, about 3 ounces of steak cut up into small bite sized strips. There was no way to cook it but well done. It was tough, and came with some luke warm fries. Thats it, $29! Delicious! Spacious! Great staff! Stunning scenery! Two of us had fish and chips. I wish I had taken a photo because I've never seen a bigger piece of fish in my life! It was perfectly cooked and spot on; Crispy on the outside, moist and flaky on the inside. The third in our party had the Fox Run Reuben and pronounced it moist, flavorful, and almost too big to take a bite. Almost!!! I took half my fish home and the Reuben lover did, as well. A hallmark of great fries is when they are still hot nearly 10 minutes after being served. They were crispy and the inside was soft and yummy. Food was good. Pub style selection. Little pricy, but good. Inside was great and modern. TVs, sports memorabilia, and a band was setting up as we were leaving. We met the new owner of the golf course and restaurant, who introduced himself. A nice touch, as that hasn't happened to me in years. He asked about the meal, where we were from, the course. This place was very disappointing. We had a 7:30 reservation for a party of 6 on Presidents' Day Monday. We were celebrating my daughter's 12th birthday and I noted that in the notes and also mentioned it to the young woman who seated us. Relevant later. The drinks were good and strong. I had a Raspberry Fizz and a John Daley. My friend had the Sandbagger. They were all excellent. Service was friendly but slow. Maybe they were understaffed? Didn't see a dedicated hostess or a busser so the servers had to do everything themselves. For appetizers we ordered the Buffalo/BBQ flavored wings, chips and guacamole, and the loaded kettle chips. I didn't have the wings but the ones who did said they were only ok. The loaded homemade kettle chips were good. The chips and guacamole were terrible. The chips were actually the same potato chips from the other dish which is unexpected but fine, but the guacamole was absolutely terrible. It was very runny and heavy on the veg. One person got the brown butter lobster pasta dish and rated it a 5 out of 10. The three girls with us had the macaroni and cheese and they liked it. I tried it and it was excellent. I had salmon. It was fresh and well cooked. I substituted garlic mash for the pilaf. The mashed potatoes were very bland. It was supposed to come with a seasonal veg, which they forgot. We asked about it and I got a dish of cold broccoli rabe and a limp carrot covered in oily pesto. We mentioned it and she took my husband's extra spinach off the tab. My husband had the tuna and said it was only ok. Anyway, I had mentioned the birthday thing twice because I was expecting them to bring out a dessert with a candle on it or something but we got nothing. And before you jump all over me, I was NOT expecting said dessert to be free. The service was friendly but it took our food forever to come out. I am an avid cook and eat out a lot as well. I think the issue here isn't lack of talent but rather being given subpar product to work with. Also, the prices are high for the quality you are getting. The worst experience we have had in a restaurant for a long time. We went a couple weeks ago on a Saturday night to celebrate my graduation from my MBA program with 6 people. Our reservation was for 7pm and we quickly ordered our drinks after being seated and our drinks did not come out until 7:45 when she finally came back and took our appetizer order. We ordered our food at the same time to try an speed things along. The first appetizer came out several minutes before the other one and we had to remind them to send the second one. 3/6 of our dinners were wrong either - 2 with the wrong sides and 1 with toppings on the sandwich that were asked for without. The waitress never apologized for the delay or incorrect items. It is not like the restaurant was exceptionally slow either, larger parties around us were being served much faster. At the end we finally tracked down the waitress, who was behind the bar socializing with employees, to ask her for the check. SHE ROLLED HER EYES AT US and said I'll be right over. The food was at least pretty good but the service and waitress were AWFUL and RUDE! My mom called twice now to express our frustrations with no response from the restaurant. read more

This is a major improvement by the new ownership after buying the course from Vail Resorts. The short ribs and ahi tuna were both great. The servers were also fun and great with our party of 8. We had a wedding rehearsal lunch for 36 people here recently. While the venue itself is lovely and the food good, the management is terrible. It was clear to us upon arrival that the restaurant/owner was not prepared for us at all despite the fact that we had discussed details with his staff 6 weeks prior and confirmed all details less than 2 weeks prior. A private patio lunch became "wait for us to move these 4 tables of diners to one end of the patio and you can have the rest of the space" Almost immediately after being seated, the very dark sky opened up with pouring rain and winds. Rather than directing us to the promised rain venue upstairs, we were hurried into the main dining room to find any available tables intermingled with other diners. The small wait / bar staff did their best to take orders but it was like trying to herd cats as they didn't know who was with our party and who wasn't. We were embarrassed, disappointed and angry that an event so important to our families ( the wedding celebration having been postponed 3 times already due to Covid) became a chaotic fiasco. We felt so badly for other diners, that in addition to our own bill, we paid 2 other tables bills to apologize for the inconvenience caused them. I called the owner 3 days later to discuss the debacle. He was dismissive, accusatory and for the most part, denied responsibility for anything. After not being able to reach any management other than the horribly rude "Sherry" who we talked to that night we had dinner last week, we decided to right a review! Sherry thought over cooked and cold food was acceptable after it took our food 90 mins from the time we ordered to reach our table. Our wasn't trained and had know one to help her. She was nice and polite but you could tell had little experience in restaurants but with a manager like that not sure your going to get much from your employees. Sherry was very rude and condescending and after being served a horrible meal that seemed to sit in the ktichen for at least 30 mins after it was over cooked, their was no apology, no nothing and our bill was over $200 for 4 of us.
