Spotted this tavern on our way and stopped in . Looking at the Google review of 4.8 stars we surely knew this one was good . It's almost hidden and surely a hidden gem. They had seating inside and outside ! Inside felt a bit rustic and old age time . Loved the interiors . Lots of seats outside too. Service could be better . We were sitting for 5-8 mins for someone to attend us and give a beer . Looks like the same waitress was going outside and also serving inside . Wish they had dedicated bartenders . Food was great though .. not so pricey .. rightly priced . We got hummus and it was sumptuous . Lots of veggies and pita bread slices to eat with hummus. Hummus was fresh and tasted good . What does an apres ski place do in the summer? Open up its outside and serve great food uncluttered from the ski rush. We came on a weekend night and it was still buzzing inside (and out) but we found a table and were warmly greeted. Got a Kona Big Wave and they have lots on tap to choose from. The chicken park sandwich (which they added to the menu after so many requests) was worth the hype. The homemade marinara and panko crusted chicken were both how I love it. The pulled pork sandwich was also very good and they smoke their meat on site. Overall, a perfect way to spend a warm summer evening! Cool vibes outside. read more

Went here for food, not the drinks- when you walk in its seat yourself, so if it's busy, you might be waiting a long time for a table. In addition, food also takes like an hour to be served. The food itself is pretty good with large portion sizes, it's just not worth the wait. read more

This place is great, but you need to know several things. If you come here , the place is first come first serve and there is no hostesses. You have to seat yourself. If you come during busy time which on a weekend is between 4 and 7 good luck in getting a table. You will be hanging out inside waiting for someone to leave. Was recommended to try the Loft by a friend. My family and I were very excited to eat here. I walked in I was so met with a respectful staffer who said they couldn't sit me themselves as it was first come first serve. I said ok great, he then told me I can go find a table myself. I proceeded to walk around and walked to the 2nd floor where I found a table that was empty. I proceeded to sit down while my family was coming up the stairs was greeted by the rudest waiter I've ever come in contact with. He told me that I could not sit there and to leave and that I needed my whole party with me. I tried to explain that the gentleman at the front did not tell me that and I had a right to sit here. He started to yell loudly (in front of other customers and families) that I need to get out and that he has a party of six and they were present. (They were not as they walked up with my family). I tried to tell him my family was on the stairs and he continued to yell that he does not give a sh** and to get out (said this repeatedly). I went downstairs to speak to a manager and explain the situation, the gentleman from the front door told the woman that it was his fault that he didn't tell me that the whole party needed to be there. I told the woman I could not believe they employ a person that is so disrespectful to customers and that they allow their employees to speak in front of families like that (extremely irate and cursing). The waiter came down and stood behind the woman and was smirking. She allowed him to stand there and continue to be disrespectful. Not at any point did they say let me accommodate you and figure something out. As I was leaving he told the woman that his friend was there and sat him down. So needless to say. They cater to locals and friends and don't care about families. We went down the street to the Killarney Pub and was met with smiles and kindness. The BEST ski bar in the east! Locally owned and it shows. Place is mobbed ski days but that doesn't make the staff cranky, they're always nice and conversational. Located in a ski area. Local bar. No frills. A little on the dingy side (menus were sticky, place needed a good dusting). However, food portions were huge and everything was good. I was disappointed for a BBQ theme they ran out of brisket. Pulled pork was excellent, sandwhich very good. Kids quesadilla was adult size. Chicken wings were pricey but very good. I've been looking for a place that I feel home at for a long time. I stumbled upon the Loft a couple years ago, and the staff servers owners couldn't have made me feel more welcome. Weather are you here for apes ski a meal or just a friendly face, The Loft is for you. The Loft is my go to place in Ludlow Vermont. The chicken wings are fantastic. Just so everyone knows, there's no dessert here. BUT aside from that the place is awesome (and our waiter made me a drink that may have been better than dessert. Had just about everything chocolate related in it). The French dip is one of the best I've ever had. Perfectly made. And the French onion soup was really great too. A perfect bowl after a long day on the mountain. Didn't try the wings but from what I hear they were well made! Drink wise, great selection of beers, well made mixed drinks, and obviously the great dessert drink. The shot ski is kinda lame, the shot glass barely fit in it, but I don't think anyone's used it in years since it took them a while to even find the thing. Went there for the first time yesterday. Quiet rainy late October Saturday. There is nothing not to like. Fabulous cozy atmosphere with memorabilia hanging everywhere. Possibly the best chicken wings I have ever had. Perfect jerk spices with the right balance of crisp on the outside and tender meatiness on the inside. Great beer selection, friendly staff. My friend, Kate, told me this was her favorite place to eat so I had to try it out. I must say I didn't know what to expect walking into this tiny bar that was using paper plates for food. But my eyes deceived me and the food was amazing. We had the steak for an appetizer. It came with a peanut slaw and together they were so tasty I could have ate that for my whole meal. Kate ordered her favorite chicken Philly cheesesteak wrap and I ordered a SMALL poutine. I emphasis small because the "small" was the size of my plate. After taking a few bites I determined this was the best poutine I ever had. It had perfect ratios of fries, gravy, and cheese curds. Most importantly, the fries remained crunchy and didn't get soggy. Recently went on a snowboarding trip to Okemo, and I cannot say enough great things about The Loft Tavern! It's located so conveniently next to the Clocktower entrance and the food is amazing!! It's a great spot to hit after the slopes. I also hung out here by myself for a couple hours while my friends were finishing up at the mountain, and I was nervous about trying to find parking around noon but they have a pretty big lot next door and I had no problem! My favorite was their Bacon Cheeseburger. It was probably one of the best burgers I've had in years. The fries that come with it were also sooo delicious. Highly recommend! The vibes are great and everyone is so happy and kind. The bartenders and servers were great and definitely added to the experience. The vibes were exactly what I was looking for and they have multiple tvs with sports games on as well! Great spot whether you're coming from the mountain or not! read more

Came to Tom's because we heard the wings are good. We started with some apps and a few beers. Have to say, the tap list is impressive. Well, we shared Grumpy's Dip which is an artichoke/cheese dip served with tortilla chips. SO GOOD! Probably the best any of us ever had. We also got the Poutine which was amazing. After the 4 of us finished these apps, we were too full for wings, so we'll have to get then next time. The restaurant was full of happy customers on a Saturday evening in August. I imagine It gets slammed in ski season. The restaurant had many levels and is a little dated. There was a bit of a fruit fly infestation, which I know is hard to resolve, but a food establishment should get a better handle on that situation. First I don't know why every resource I checked had different operating hours, but I ended up calling and finding out that The Loft was, in fact, open tonight- a Monday evening - for an early dinner for my daughter and I. We had a wonderful experience. I asked our server (Erik) what he would recommend and I'm SO glad that I did, since one of his recommendations was the ribs. We ordered a half rack of ribs and a kids cheeseburger. The kids cheeseburger was fine. Maybe good. I honestly couldn't say, since it's a kids' cheeseburger (and as a rule they are generally just fine to me). The ribs, however, were incredible - perfectly cooked, fall off the bone, truly tasty ribs. And our service was top notch. Sincerely. So much so that my daughter exclaimed that Erik was her favorite "of all of the men she has met on this spring vacation." Excellent food, and even better service. read more

Grumpy is also too cute a word, they should change it to read "pretentious, disrespectful jerks". They're going for a "locals only" shtick at this tourist trap (it's *feet* away from a "Top US Family Snow Resort") but don't have the menu, drinks, atmosphere or history to back it up. Save yourself the trouble and the cost of bartenders making up prices on the spot based on what type of shoes you're wearing or "how many chicks" are in your party and continue down the hill to The Killarney. read more

We were back at Okemo skiing and had to go back. I have had great hamburgers in my day but I will tell you - their Cheesiest Cheese Burger is what other burger aspire to. Cooked to a perfect medium rare, fresh lettuce and tomato. And a bun that held it all together. on a scale of 1 to 10 . I give it 100. You wont find a better burger. French onion soup was outstanding. Perfect temp and just the right amount of cheese. 10 Kong wings are a great way to start your meal. Service was outstanding and I was in awe of how quickly they went up and down the stairs as we were dining on the 2nd floor. By far one of the best establishments in ludlow. The staff is one of a kind. You definitely need to be ready for a slightly dive feel but the food will make up for that 10'fold. With the change in owners I have noticed a ton of good changes and the food has even more flavor than in the past. The whole team there is always on point and if you feel they are being too mean you probably deserve it. Best spot to watch the game eat some wings and enjoy good company. Maybe it was the awesome Yelp reviews. Maybe it was the eight hours of hard skiing that got our appetites worked up. Maybe it was the euphoric air of wings and BBQ you could smell all the way down Okemo Mountain Road. I'm not sure what it was, but we seemed to be hypnotically drawn to Tom's Loft Tavern for some après ski food and drink before heading back to NY. My friend and I split an appetizer and two sandwiches, and had more food in front of us than we could have ever imagined. As other reviewers have noted, Tom's loft is very cramped inside, with lots of corridors and not a single large open room. The difference of 10-15 people on the main floor can transform this place from totally dead to completely jam-packed, so either go early and claim a table, or try to stop by during less busy times. You can't fault such an old, quaint building for being so small and cozy, but be warned, this is not built for crowds like a base lodge or anything. Despite all this, the food was sublime, and even though Okemo's on-mountain food options are pretty decent, I'm glad that we waited till we were off-mountain for our main meal...it was AWESOME! read more

This is by far the BEST ski bar on the east coast! It's a strong woman owned business! Dorothy, Becky and Marie have done an amazing job renovating the business since they bought it , end of last season from Tom. Food is amazing, beer list is incredible, wine is always a heavy pour. The food is consistent and our favorites are always the FRIES, the long boarders-- amazing, the quesadillas, my son's favorite is the BLT wrap, my other son loves the chicken parm sub. Nachos and wings are always a hit, anything pulled pork. If you haven't had the French onion or the chili get it! The list goes on and on. Don't be fooled by the negative reviews yesterday those ladies were trying to buy beer from the bar for their underaged kids who regrettably didn't have their ids yet they thought they were still entitled to drink? Seriously that's why you and got kicked out- duh? You play with fire you'll get burned . Lesson learned if you want to drink bring your ID or not happening! Don't forget to buy the merch! Just got the cutest snow hat, hoodie and golf shirt. It you haven't been here before your surely missing out! People always comment on the people who work here. To be fair they are treated rudely and what that happens prepare yourself to be barked back at when not following their simple rules. If you come in with a chip on your shoulder and treat them rudely or try to sit in your booth for 2+ hours just ordering a basket of fries. yes the staff are entitled to be crass and rude . You are selfishly eating up their tips which ultimately is their livelihood. please remember these ladies bough the loft in March or April of 2023 so all the negative reviews about the grumpy owner from a year ago are obsolete as this has been under new ownership for less than a year. read more

Looks like we fell victim to that one rude staff member that others have mentioned. It's too bad - the vibe, the food, all looked great as we were waiting. It was our first time here and it's a first come, first serve style seating arrangement with no host, which is fine, albeit it then being a bit of a free for all. We waited and, being the next up, saw a table paying their check. Another group came in behind us, apparently asked a waiter if they could have the table, and he said yes. The bouncer, a super friendly guy, tried intervening on our behalf, saying we had been waiting, but the waiter immediately got rude with us, and told us first that there's no host but second that he had promised away the table and we should have spoken to him. Not sure how that's supposed to work if there's no host but waiters can give away tables? Apparently, it was all our fault. In truth, I have no problem with the situation - things happens and we probably would have waited for another table - but the way we were treated (especially in front of our two young kids) was next level. I was told by the waiter that, to have handled it differently, would have been "kissing my ass." Needless to say, we left, and that'll be that. read more
