I agree with everyone else: this has to be one the cleanest Goodwill stores I have ever been to (and I've been to quite a few). There is the usual sections of items: shoes, clothes, toys, books, glassware, electronics, etc. The selection is limited, however, since it is such a small store. They rotate through items quickly, so make sure to get the item if you really want it because it's likely to be gone very soon. The location is good. Located in a clean, convenient part of town near banks and popular shopping centers. I guess since they're located in the suburbs, they figure they can spike the prices up much higher than other Goodwill stores I've been to. Some of the items can be found for around the same price new at either the Target across the street or the Walmart down the road. I understand they do need to make a profit, however, and buying pre-owned goods is a great way to recycle, so I keep going back. read more

A couple of weeks ago I bought a pair of Jessica Simpson wedges. If you have the time and the energy you can find a lot there. I have always had good customer service there too. Good will? My ass. This is the only Goodwill I have been to in all of California that has set rates for their prices, $9 for a sweater? What the heck? I felt like I walked into the Twilight Zone last week. I can get more for $9 at Old Navy on the clearance rack than I can ever get at this Goodwill. This wasn't the only outrageous price at this location either. I say outrageous because this is a thrift store and Goodwill is known for providing accessible, affordable clothing for people of all classes. Apparently this one missed that memo as they seem to only care about middle class shoppers. How disappointing. There's not even daily or weekly discounts. I've been to non-Goodwill thrift stores where they had set rates, but still offered daily/weekly discounts to make the clothing more accessible for people who can't afford to buy 2 sweaters for $18. I'm never coming back to this location and I highly recommend that you consider taking your money elsewhere. There are far better locations with more options, more discounts, better prices and better selections. read more

I regularly shop at this location. I'm a single mom with an eight-year-old daughter and we find some really good things here for us. I'll start off by mentioning that I'm not one of those customers who create messes and disrespect the employees. I understand what they do and I make sure that we keep things clean and organize the way they have it when we shop. I have a regular customer that's how I like it too. I barely grab a cart and the woman at the cash register with the Christmas hat on just starts talking negative as if she expects no one to hear her. It takes me about 15 seconds to realize the disrespect is not worth my money or me respect as a customer so I mention I'm not gonna shop there anymore. Same woman starts laughing under her breath. That woman was so disrespectful she deserves to be fired. Any employee who thinks they're better than anybody does not deserve to be working there. Good luck with the rest of the holiday customers who I hope leave messes for her to clean up and teach her little thing about humility. read more

The boy that was working at the cashier on December 4th at 5:35pm on the left side was very rude. We came into the store with our SERVICE dog and a lady walked up to us and said dogs are not allowed and we informed her it's a service animal and she looks at the cashier boy and the boy said "if anything happens you better clean that up." Not only did he just stare when we walked in he had his co worker help talk for him. You can't talk for yourself? Lol That guy needs to learn how to be happy. read more

I'm not really someone who leaves reviews but I feel I must today. I encountered a young woman today , Gwenyth , she was an employee I believe she was on her lunch break. She directed me the right way , commented on my outfit very kindly and shared a few ideas that really helped me out. The manager at this location needs more training, completely handles problems ass-backwards. Went into this location to blow some time, wife and I decided to walk the store and look for hidden treasures. My wife finds an item she likes, I find an old comic book, we head to the checkout line. While waiting in line at the checkout, our cashier has some problems with her computer. The other cashier across the floor is instructing our cashier how to do her job, repeatedly reminding her to hurry because customers are waiting. Fast forward: after waiting 15 minutes in line the "manager" finally comes out from the back and starts dinking-around with the computer. At this point the line at the other register across from us is 7 customers deep because our line isn't moving. Everyone in the store is ready to get the hell out of here. The manager is still dinking-around with the computer. Now the manager says she's going to go in the back and check her computer to see if she can fix the problem. She then looks over at my wife and I, and the people behind us and instructs us to go wait in the long line at the other register? We ask her if there's another register anywhere, she says "no. I just sent someone to lunch, we only have one line, wait in line." Normally, a manager would acknowledge when a customer has been waiting in line 15+ minutes. Usually the practice is for the manager to take your items and walk you to the front of another line because you had waited the longest. Not in this store! We were shoved to the back of another line after waiting 15-20 minutes longer than everyone else. The experience was interesting. I highly recommend that the manager of this location pursue a career at the DMV. I feel she would really thrive in an environment like that. read more

DonT bother here, kids in the inbound donations area are stupid and rude to people trying to help others. Tried to take in a donation and instead got so much of the child like attitude and lack of customer service it made me just say the he'll with it drive away so I could just throw all the perfectly good items in the trash. I stopped into this Goodwill the other day and had the nicest exchange with one of the workers, I don't recall her name but she had on a blue santa hat. Super sweet and helpful and really went out of her way to help me and I rally appreciated the time she took with me. You don't find many people in retail who actually enjoy their job and are super helpful. She helped make my shopping fun. read more

It was our first time going there to shop for a Halloween costume and I wanted to try some stuff on and when we approached an employee she said that the fitting rooms were closed. Got to be honest it's a hit or miss at this goodwill and a couple days ago was Definitely a big Miss, I came in 5-10 minutes before closing, it was literally just for one frame just simple frame and I knew exactly where it was, so I was only going to be in there for a minute. I walk in and this cashier yells "we close in 5 minutes!!" At me, and I said oh I know! I'm sorry! I just need 1 thing I'll be super quick I promise!! And she murmurs something under her breath that sounded like a smart remark, and I walked away, grabbed the frame I wanted and I don't know who this lady was, but she was Hispanic and about in her 30's yelling at this black man to either take this bike or leave it because they need to close like NOW. And as someone who works in retail, 1. You NEVER under any circumstances yell at someone the way she yelled at him, and 2. You close in 5 minutes! Not 1, calm down, you'll get to go home. There's been plenty of times Customers will still be shopping after closing but be considerate and let them know kindly, or offer to hold the items (mind you he asked if she can hold these bikes for him, and she straight up said NO! I will not, we have so much crap back there already!!") I will not be returning to this store unless I really need too, that service was to me unacceptable. And the frame I bought which I didn't even notice because I was in a hurry, the glass which was attached was broken! Like a big chunk of glass was gone. Won't allow drop offs if they don't feel like it. They close at 7pm, drop off closes at 5pm. Shut me down at 3:20 pm because they didn't want to do more sorting/claimed they were full. This was actually one of the cleanest and most well organized Goodwill stores I have been to, but probably just because it is also the smallest. The selection of things is limited. I would give this place higher stars, but why (oh why) do they overprice everything so much? Used shoes: $15. Really? I can get new shoes for $20... Old, outdated, and many times obsolete electronic equipment (that I don't even know if it works) at maybe 50% original price. perfect example: My wife found a package of 10 floppy disks for $4. The original price was only $5, and who uses those things now anyway? She picked them up for a craft project she was going to do, but quickly put them back down. As an electronics hobbiest and hacker, I would buy up at least half of everything they have on those electronic isles every time I go if they were reasonably priced! Here's a tip, Goodwill. If you really want to make a lot of money to be able to help more people, then drop your prices! You have a "Walmart" kind of store (lower quality stuff, should be cheap to move lots of inventory) with a "Macy's" pricing model (higher quality stuff, but still a little overpriced). People are not going to buy used things just for the sake of helping other people through your "good will." They will buy stuff if it is priced appropriately. It's like those sad families that overprice the junk in their yard sales because they let their own emotional attachment cloud their judgement on actual worth to someone else. It's not like your inventory costs you that much... it's all donations! So price your stuff cheaper and I guarantee you will move a lot more inventory, draw in more people, and ultimately make more money. read more

This location has some of the rudest cashiers out of all the local/Bay Area GW I've been to, and I thrift a lot at different locations around 3-4 days a week. Aside from the extremely rude cashiers (there are two whom have been very cordial and pleasant--a young man and a Hispanic woman) everything here is marked up at crazy prices. Not a few bucks over priced, as in you can buy the same things NEW for the same price. They changed a price tag for no reason on an item I wanted I was told had been mispriced and after quoting me a certain amount I came back and it was still four dollars higher than the quoted price, making it $6 more than the amount it was originally tagged. The saleswoman was very rude about it and when she was told to ask the manager about the problem she refused to get up, saying the manager "was busy". *side eye* Anything "good" is quickly bought. They get a lot of salvaged items from Target, but it isn't as low as you can find at Target when it's on final clearance. Make no mistake, Goodwill makes a profit from these sales. There is a lot of bric a brac and housewares never go on sale. Purses and clothing do, but you can find new purses at stores like Ross brand new for the same price or a few dollars more. read more

The shelves are always empty and staff including managers extremely rude and unfriendly all the time. I waited in line for 10 minutes to get checked out because no staff was available at the registers. I went to the register to buy a used purse and they refused to sell it because it was not priced. I asked a manager to price it and she said it would take 24 hours to price and they would not put a hold on it for me as that is their NEW policy. I asked to see the policy in writing and she said it's not in writing. The policy is not written and the staff is completely unaware of consumer policies so or customer service. Arrived at store at 8:50 on Saturday August 16th. Saw a female employee open the door and go outside. I unloaded a child's mattress and approached the door. The employee yelled,"we don't take that just in case of a recall". I asked if I could drop off other items. She told me to go get some coffee and come back at nine. I pointed out that the door was open, could I just leave it there really quick. She yelled at me saying that she only opened it to let in an employee and to come back. I ended up driving to the nearby Oakley Goodwill, where I received friendly service and they took the mattress. Maybe the Oakley Goodwill employees can drive and teach the Brentwood folks some manners. It's pretty sad to be treated rudely when donating to charity!! read more

As a Goodwill store the prices of the items should be reasonable. I couldn't believe how expensive everything is. Example...I really wanted to buy this lovely vase until I saw the price, it was $10:00, I went across the street to Kirklands and they had a similar vase for the same price, brand new. This is my first stop for donating "gently used" items. There is always staff at the drop off point. This helps, so I can get a donation receipt (My CPA loves those things). The retail part of the store is very organized and clean. Staff is always visible and there has never been any lines, for checkout. read more

What a horrible experience. Just tried to make a donation of working computer equipment (printer and copier) and was turned away by an African American man with dreads (who could not have been ruder if he had tried). It literally says on the website and on the flyer that he gave me that they accept these items. The only explanation they gave was that this store is only accepting small electronic items at this time (what???). When I asked for a manager he told me none were working. I asked for his name and he refused to give me it and then took out his phone and started taking photos and videos. I'm a petite and women and felt threatened by this man. Read up on the reviews and went to donate without any hopes for civility. My husband was greeted with a yell that they are not receiving donations and to come back tomorrow. We are lugging our box back and hope to make another attempt tomorrow. If we are unsuccessful, we will find elsewhere. I don't believe that anyone has been "checking up" on previous complaints as the responses claim. Goodwill just came to mind when we had items that are in good condition that we no longer needed. I can't speak to the retail side of the store. This review pertains only to the donation center, if you can even call it that. We were turned away with most of our donation last week because the fire marshall was allegedly on his way over to make sure the front was cleaned out. It seems logical that they would then lock the doors and post a sign. I asked the employees to please accept the ridiculously heavy box that I had already hauled out of my car. They did so with a less than pleasant attitude. I returned yesterday with the second box of books, clothing and a diaper bag(which, incidentally, they don't accept... unless you call it a purse). I was received with the same unpleasant attitude from the staff and was treated to a deep, annoyed and very obvious sigh when I asked for a receipt. I don't shop here anyway. But you can be sure I also will not be donating here anymore. read more

The donation process is terrible as well as the customer service I received. The older gentlemen working there didn't help me bring in anything from my car even though he came out to look at what I had brought, all he did was roll his eyes. He didn't even open the door when seeing me struggle with an oversized box (I'm only 4'10) and not only that but I am an under aged girl and he did nothing but watch me get sexually harassed by another old man. He idly stood by and was just bitter about me being charitable with all my donations... Which is odd because I thought donating was a charitable act. I shouldn't feel bad for donating. Given that Goodwill is in the business of taking donations from people, I would like to know where this particular store gets off by allowing the sullen and insolent rudeness shown to me by a chap who was apparently a supervisor of some sort. The young woman I spoke to (earlier today, 6-5-2017) was polite and pleasant, even when she had to tell me that Goodwill could not accept a particular item (a chandelier). But the supervisor guy -- there was a different matter entirely. I'm offended and angered by his attitude; he behaved as though he was doing me some kind of favor by condescending to accept the items I was bringing -- for example, a Black & Decker battery-powered weed whacker with batteries and charger, near new. I won't be making any donations to this Goodwill again -- and I've given this store some very nice stuff in the past. read more

Teen challenge in Concord was hands down a nicer place to donate and I felt like my donations might be better cared for. The young, polite kid that helped me with my donations was amazing.
