I'd never been to this Goodwill since I live in Austin, but I was in town for a 5K and decided to pop in after breakfast. The store was clean, well stocked, and everyone was super friendly. I was just checking to see if they had a TV table for my daughter's new apartment. She wanted to get her 55-inch TV off the floor, and they actually had two to choose from. Both were nice, but I went with the cheaper one. The employee explained how it works: rip off the tag, pay for it, put a "sold" sign on it, then drive around to the donation drop-off area where they bring it out and load it in your car. Super easy, exactly like they said. Everyone I talked to was kind, upbeat, and genuinely helpful. Not sure why this location has some bad reviews, because that wasn't my experience at all. Goodwill's always worth a quick stop, you never know what you'll find, especially if you like thrifting or just don't want to spend a ton. read more

I've been a Goodwill customer for several years, but recently, with the new changes, I took the initiative to look closely at my receipt and realized that they are not honoring the 60% discount that is supposed to be offered on Wednesdays. Instead, they are only giving me a 40% discount on all items with the designated color tag for the supposed 60% off. I have two receipts from different Goodwill stores, and I did this on purpose to verify if the computer at one of the stores was malfunctioning, because I dared to question the cashier and she told me that maybe her computer was faulty. But I realized that the same thing happened at another Goodwill store. read more

We were able to make a few unique finds at this store, but a lot of the items were bulk and brand new with tags. In my opinion, this goes against the typical Goodwill store structure. Many of the items were overpriced for their wear, and at the same time, many brand-new or high-end thrifted items were very reasonably priced. The store was clean & well-organized and the staff was kind. Karen provided exceptional customer service during our check-out experience, and that interaction alone made this a 4-star review rather than a 3-star one. read more

This Goodwill is not as large as some of them, but I tend to find more quality items and hidden gems here more than any other Goodwill. They do have some furnishings but it's not an extensive selection. Like most Goodwill's, half the store is dedicated to clothing. It should be noted they have three dressing rooms, decent bathrooms and two fountains. One thing they do have an abundance of is shoes that sit above the clothes racks. The store is definitely on my go to thrift list. read more

The things here are quite over priced and you cannot get a good deal on pretty much anything! $20 for a blazer? Well if I were at a retail store, like JCP or Macy's, of course I would have loved it. For a store that gets everything for free and then makes profit from it? NO! That is corporate greed at it's finest. There is a reason that the CEO and owner of Goodwill is a multi billionaire whilst their constituents and dependents are struggling to survive. Also, the auction cases have fake things in it, which I'm pretty sure is illegal. Not saying all Goodwills are bad, but this one just ain't it. For a thrift store, there has gotta be better prices. A Also I heard that the management does backdoor deals? Like for example, if they received a Chanel bag or a pair of Balenciaga shoes, they'll sell it to someone under the table, thus ruining the thrill of thrifting because you know all of the clothes left over are trash anyways. I guess my message is that not all thrift stores are bad, but there are many bad thrift stores out there. read more

I'm disappointed as to the number of negative reviews for this store. Does anyone really expect perfection at a thrift store? Some of the self-proclaimed "thrifters" with petty complaints are likely actually re-sellers and are only using this and other Goodwills to gather their bargains for them, sell them at a ridiculously low price and allow the re-sellers all of the profit. Anyone who has truly been thrifting for any amount of time has seen the lower scale thrift shops with only junk strewn around like a "garage sale" that's only missing the "b" in the word "garBage." This Goodwill has bargains. You just have to be a patient and understanding "picker" and find them. It's like Easter Egg hunting for adults! We are regulars here and at others in the area. We know all of the friendly staff and we've seen how hard they work. However, we recently moved to Bell County where the Goodwills no longer have auctions and their shelves are mostly filled with second and third-rate brand new items from China. We miss this Goodwill and others and often make the drive up for our dose of weekly thrifting. Here's a novel idea. If you don't like it, move along down the road. I am a frequent shopper of all things thrift, I've spent most my time in the Minnesota goodwills and must say they are so much better.. Here is why: Boutique/online stores: The staff pull most the worth wile thrift treasure out of the constant influx of products and sell them for almost retail in the boutique stores, you should not be spending one dime in them.. pure greed by goodwill. Prices: Highest anywhere and I have spent thousands of hours thrifting. Auctions: A weekly showcase of fake purses, untested electronics, broken tools, cowboy boots, Pokémon cards and beanie baby's. Trust issues: Staff has tried to get me to hand over my buy lists so they can salvage the stuff I want and make backdoor deals with me. (Management knows and has yet do do anything 4 months later) Fakes: It's illegal to sell fakes but they do and will say it's "Inspired" I have seen hundreds of fake purses, Jordan's, jerseys and watches priced as if the were real. Bottom line is buy from eBay you will get a better deal and most likely a real item. The overpriced stuff gets transported to a outlet, a professional picker will pull the real, quality and rare items out. They will test, wash, fix and only sell working, clean and real items. read more

It was on 11/13 around 3pm I had a great idea with my friends to go play some tennis. So if we went to Goodwill to grab us some awesome rackets, but much to my displeasure the customer service was horrible. I was in the checkout leaning against a bin and an employee had a wonderful idea of bashing me for not shopping and leaning against a bin. Whoever was working that shift should probably be more friendly next time. read more

HUTTO GOODWILL - Personally I went into the store on a whim on a Sunday afternoon. Was delighted to find a working casette and cd player that my husband wanted. WE have lots of the oldies and goodies. Got it home to find out the power cord was cut off ... would not work. Called the store and was informed that I could only have a store credit. OH well ... disappinted so called the Round Rock store. Hopefully they have more to choose from. Downside to RR is they are out of gift cards so hopefully I find something I like there for the money I paid for the broken item. BLAAAA ... still say should of gone to Salvation Army. I find the prices at Goodwill overpriced and lots of junk. Salvation Army is much better. OH WELL - Gots go search out something to get my $25. back in goods. SHOPPERS BEWARE! This particular Good Will sell Counterfeit Designer bags such as Prada, Coach, Gucci, Louis Vuitton in the glass case which may be Fake! Selling Counterfeit bags is illegal and they know this but yet still putting them in a glass case for auction and selling them to customers who are completely unaware and clueless that its FAKE..which is sad and really pathetic. Good-Will needs to throw that TRASH in the Dumpsters were it belongs. On October 25th 2014 I walked into the store and in auction had already started I decided to join. This is my first time participating in a auction like this. I bidded on 3 bags which were 2 Prada and 1 Coach bag. I thought the Prada bag was 100% Authentic, until I went to a Prada Store in San Marcos Premium Outlets, the associates at the Prada Store said " These are Definitely fake because the logo is not straight and the lining is off and Prada never made such a bag". The Coach bag hopefully seems real...I own several coach bags and looks real enough.. also has the serial numbers located inside the bag. The Prada associates suggested to bring the Counterfeit bags back to get my money back. I went to the location I got them 560 HWY 79th West Hutto .. Assistant Manager David which is not his real first name .. he did told me his last name was Lottaz did not want to return the Counterfeit bags he said " I signed the papers " AS IS''. and for that amount you paid for them I can't return it". Which was over $100.00. He was not helpful and his mentality is (I got your money and I don't care) selling Counterfeit is illegal and not part of the "As is" Bags like that should be returned immediately! He gave me the round around said he would have to e-mail corporate to see if I can return it. Lottaz never got back to me. I thought about donating them back But I didn't, I just threw them away! The management at this store is incredibly incompetent. I purchased 16 books priced at $1.99, but was accidentally charged $2.99 by the clerk. The manager on duty, David, could not wrap his head around that I was due a $16 refund. Additionally, I was made to feel that this was my fault and that he shouldn't have to give me any refund. The clerk backed me up and told him I was due $16. He kept threatening the clerk, saying, "If you are $5 short I don't know what's going to happen to you." It took me over 45 minutes to get this stupid refund. I have never had an employee (no less a manager) of a retail establishment treat me this way. And I have never seen a manager threaten and treat an employee as harsh as he did the clerk who made the mistake. Also, the store is dirty, junky looking. The employees all seem to hate one another. Every other Goodwill I have been to is light and bright. The staff greats you at door. Never here. I spent $150 today. Never spending another dime there again. read more

I absolutely love this Goodwill. I have found so many neat treasures here. Some first edition signed books that were in the book cases and some awesome depression glass just laying around for the taking. I even bought a chaise lounge there one day. What a find and a great bargain at that. The staff is always caring and considerate, especially the gentleman that works later in the day on Thursday, Friday and Saturday on the cash register. He has always been very helpful. I think his name is Darren. I would suggest this Goodwill to anyone in the area. read more

If you bid on an item at the Saturday auction at this Goodwill make sure that you are there when the auction is going on to pick up your item, because if the manager has a friend that also wants the item, they conveniently lose the paper with the winning bid (and this is after they called to tell you that you won!!) and sell it to their friend. This has happened twice to me so far. Very unprofessional. And we were there on Sunday to pick the items up, so it is not like they did not think we were going to not get it. read more

Immediately upon entry we were notified by a girl with blue hair in a passive aggressive manner that the store would be closing in 30 minutes. While in the store I witnessed her bark this same warning at every customer who walked in (about 9 other people at least). She then made an announcement over the intercom although she had already informed every single person in the store when they arrived. Also everyone in the store had heard it loudly and aggressively repeated multiple times when others entered. When she came to let me in the dressing room she said she had a million things to do and five minutes to do them when in reality she still had 20 minutes until close. At checkout she proceeded to complain to my fiancé and I about why people kept walking in when she had just told them they were closing soon. She griped about still having lots of cleaning to do. I might have felt more remorse had we been the only ones to walk in 30 minutes till close but it seemed like a very popular store and time to shop bc of all the others who walked in after us. Maybe this goodwill should extend their hours? Either way as long as the sign says the store is open the employees should expect people to walk in and they should not be unwelcoming. Every retail job I've had customer service comes before cleaning, which can be done after the store is closed. read more

We have shopped at Goodwill stores in several states. We have found them to be great for things like some childrens clothing that get outgrown very quickly. I must say however that the Hutto location really disappoints. The store is full of mostly what I would consider to be junk (beyond the normal Goodwill junk). We stop in every once in a while to see what new they have in the way of books but that is about the only thing we have ever found of value there. read more

I love me some thrifting! I thought the Round Rock location would be less picked over than the Austin locations. As soon as I walked in I wanted to leave. I gave it a shot and poked around but, it was so unorganized. I understand there is supposed to be an element of messiness in thrift stores. That's what makes it fun! This place was really, really bad. My biggest issue was that the stuff was so overpriced! I was looking for some cheap sweaters for a project. I picked a few out, and when I got to the checkout my total was forty dollars. Forty fricking dollars! That's like twelve bucks a piece. Why would I pay near retail for a holy used sweater? They won't be graced by my patronage anymore. read more
