I left with nothing. This particular location was lacking big time. The racks were pretty bare and the home section was even more empty. The walls were lined with woman's dresses but the quality and abundance of fast fashion ( SHEIN, no brand tag only the euro size, polyester bends) made it disappointing. The small children section didn't have anything ranging from 2T-4T for boys or girls. The few items I did find ( a Rachel Roy red jumpsuit was $14.99 and lot orange shift dress $14.99) nether fit but the fact they have open dressing rooms was a plus. read more

I have several issues with Goodwill 1) people drop off items after hours and then the homeless people trample all over them and trade their smelly, stinky dirty feces filled clothing. Goodwill puts it out for purchase. 2) they spray a Febreze liked sent all over everything and it doesn't wash out. Alert this doesn't get rid of the dirt and grime! If you have to use something switch to the new Proof product, which doesn't smell. 3) the regional offices should do a better job of managing the stores! I love the idea of thrifting! It saves money it saves the planet. Everything doesn't go to a landfill. read more

This particular Goodwill located at the Y in Oak Hill is very spacious. Like most Goodwills this place has a very large selection of clothes. There's a decent number of furnishings here but the selection is not very big. What I found very interesting was that every aisle of clothing has shoes above it, lots and lots of shoes! The store is well laid out and the aisles are very spacious. There's also plenty of parking and they have five dressing rooms. They also have three bathrooms which are quite up-to-date. If you're a thrift store shopper this place should be on your list. read more

I love Goodwill for buying gently used items as well as the fun the kids have checking out new stuff and recycling instead of buying new. We also tried to drop our overflow items off instead of having a garage sale. The selection is immense and the staff always greets me when I walk in the door. DVDs, artwork, aisles and aisles of clothing, and I even saw an unused couch pillow for $3 pillow that I got at IKEA for $20. You never know what you're going to find but it is definitely fun to browse till you find something that catches your eye. read more

This location is one of the largest Goodwill's in the Austin area. Easy to get to off of the Y at Oak Hill and plenty of parking as well. Walk inside and you will notice clothes outweigh furniture and knick knacks as well. We found some excellent gently used outside furniture here on a weekend too! I bet if you come early you will find some excellent stuff but it is hard to tell if that is true as when we visited, late weekend afternoon, it seemed like the furniture we snagged had JUST been placed out. I really like that there are a lot of new items here as well. Most of the new items can be found closer to the checkout area and along the sides of the electronic area. read more

I've been to several Goodwill locations and will drive an extra 30-40 minutes out of my way to go to this one vs. the one near my house. This one is bigger and has more selection. While the prices have gone up, they are still reasonable. Some of the other Goodwill locations all around Austin are shocking and insulting, as they price things more than you can buy them new (i.e. a $19.99 used toaster, $6 plastic drawer silverware holder, or $3 used plastic spatula that you can buy at Walmart or HEB for $1). At least this location in Oakhill still remains reasonable with their pricing and has more employees that can cashier (when they're busy) or folks on the floor if you need help. read more

Convenient, has auctions, takes donations (of course), and I try to stop by on a kind of weekly visit to do a quick run through of music. Not often, but it has happened, I find a rare item that probably were left over from a garage sale or estate sale. Staff has always been pleasant to me. The parking lot is downright dangerous due to the traffic pattern changes, so make sure to hang on to the young ones firmly due to people using in front of the store for a short cut to 290 from 71. read more

Large Goodwill location with a nice selection (I'd say the majority of it is housewares and clothes, but good selection of garden/other stuff too). I agree with another review that said you won't find many vintage items at this location (but it's always a hit or miss when you go Goodwill hunting anyway). Donation dropoff is a super convenient drive-thru along the right side of the building; they are always very efficient and ready with a donation receipt. Staff at the checkout is always notably nice and friendly as well which makes it extra inviting. I love stopping in for quick visits here on days I pass by for work just to look around and see what new awesome stuff might be waiting inside! I rarely leave without SOMETHING, and it's usually a brand new item with tags (I've gotten garden pots, drink accessories, multi packs of really nice socks...just a few examples haha!) I say it's totally worth dropping in for a quick look around if you're in the neighborhood. read more

I think the address listed is actually the old address - this place used to be next to that Detour dive bar at the intersection of 290 and William Cannon, but it's now actually in the Y intersection next to Planet Fitness. Big clean store, good selection, good organization, reasonable prices, friendly employees - one of the better Goodwills in Austin IMO. read more

If you happen to live in the Oak Hill/Dripping Springs area then this is your place, otherwise just head 15 min. down the road for a better selection. In my particular words this store should just be called "Larry Mahon's Goodwill or Cavender's Thrift City". this Goodwill is more miss then hit for me. I have found some rare gems here... but that would be three gems after three years of living in this area. I basically feel like its comparable to mining for gold... rarely happens.. but when it does its epic. The customer service is nice and They did just recently expand the square footage of this location ... with Halloween coming soon I do plan to shop this place frequently.. I do think this location worth a stop on your thrifting journey.. But we are in southwest Austin and so not many come out this far. Which is also something to consider when you think of the donations they get. read more

Well Goodwill was spreading goodwill recycling the universe and helping make things work and getting things to people who need them I found it to be a very pleasant place people were very receptive. And I help my friend unload her car and get rid of some things as an older relative had died. Nothing like using Goodwill to help clean out the closet. Easy drive up easy processing. The workers here, at least the young ones, don't like their jobs and they show it. When asking to try on some jeans over 15 minutes before close, I was not allowed to use the fitting rooms. The fitting rooms "close" before the store does. I can see 5, maybe 10 minutes prior to closing but longer than that as far as I can tell is because the young women just want to not do their job of getting the key during the time they are still supposed to be doing their job. The store was filthy, even for a goodwill and I know it sounds like I'm ranting but that was not the only impolite thing said from the workers to other customers I had heard. I would never go back here and I would urge everyone else to do the same. read more

Just dropping off some stuff for donation and was APPALLED by the guy (Gary) working the donation center! He tried to fight (and cursed out) the guy in front of me. They were pretty close to going at it right there. So, I stepped a foot inside the warehouse to tell the guy I didn't need a receipt and he yelled at me too, saying "Hey! You can't be back here!!". Hope they get this guy some help for his anger issues. read more

I swore I'd never return to the Goodwill in Oak Hill after they refused to take a computer desk from me one time. I think they didn't want to get it out of my car. However, since it is close to my house and I was needing to take items out of my garage I relented and returned. There was a line of cars on the day I was trying to drop off items. A woman in front of me was trying to get her things out of her car and get out of the way so she simply placed her items outside the door, not in a bin. As I pulled up a gentleman came out with a bin and literally threw the items in the bin with as much force as he possibly could. Parts to games were flying all over the place. Over and over he didn't drop things into the bin but literally THREW them with great force into the bin. I asked why he was doing that and he said he's in a hurry. it's his job and basically I was to mind my own business. I said that the items weren't going to be usable and he told me don't worry about it. I was livid. If this is how they treat items in front of customers I can't imagine what it's like once the items go behind the doors. In fact, the next gentleman who approached me to help with my items asked if there was a problem to which the other guy replied no. I told him what had happened and he said he has told him to go slower and not let the customers see him do that. So, in other words, smash their items behind closed doors and not in front of people.
