Prices are outrageous. You can definitely buy the majority of the items new. Example, small juice glasses $2.99 each, not crystal or anything special. Even the clothes are very overpriced. I will no longer donate to them. read more

I enjoy shopping at the Goodwill they have a large selection of items. I do believe their prices can be a bit high for some items. Yesterday I experienced rudeness, impatience and pure nastiness. I bought 3 pieces of furniture from them, they were struggling to fit it in my van. All the seats were flat down. I started to try and guide them from the side of my van, the women said that the desk couldn't go in because it was stuck on the rug. I said all he has to do is get it over the spot and it will slide in. She then said to the guys to leave the furniture and let them take care of it. Meaning me. They all walk away into the store and close the door behind them. Mind you I am disabled I use a wheelchair I was leaning in the middle of the car trying to assist them and she was extremely rude and nasty. read more

I love this Goodwill store. Of course all Goodwill Stores are not the same due to the sales stock. However, I find this Culpeper GW store's selection of items to be intriguing and pretty well priced. Better still, the staff is very human. They're happy professionals who make you feel happy that you were their customer. Great place to shop. Don't forget to join as a member. read more

I really like this store. The merchandise is neatly laid out, clean and organized. The prices (obviously) are low, yet for the most part, quality is very good. Although they don't have as much glassware as the Goodwill store in Orange, but I have been able to find what I needed, and I feel like the quality is better than at Walmart or Dollar General. They don't have a huge selection of furniture, either, but if you're into refurbishing then you can get some real bargains and fix them up. In terms of clothing, they have plenty of basics such as jeans and t-shirts. I'm a small size but I've always been able to find what I needed at this store. Also, the employees are always very helpful and polite. I highly recommend this store. read more

I had a sectional couch only 3 years old from Ashley Furniture in good condition...no stains, no tears, no broken springs...that they just refused because I didn't steam clean it first So I could carry it straight to the showroom floor. I recently donated about $10k of goods in another state and was prepared to donate up to $15k worth of additional furniture and goods to this location, but their attitudes today mean they will never receive another donation from me or my family. read more

This place has gone downhill. It is very unorganized. None of the clothes are sized so it's hard to search for the size you need. There is stuff spread all over the store which visually looks like an overhwelming mess. Not only that, but all have the prices have gone up significantly. Save yourself the frustration and trip and find a different "thrift" shop. $15 plus dollars for used shoes and jeans is outrageous at your local goodwill. read more

I love this location! It's small but has a high quality selection of baby and children's clothes, as well as homeware items! Great for holiday accessories, framed artwork, pillows, etc. It isn't one of the "pricier" Goodwills, either. Service can be unnecessarily slow at times. read more

My first experience when I moved to Culpeper and visited the Culpeper town Goodwill was not pleasant at all. As I was checking out I overheard a staff member scolding another customer. The customer had ask if there was an extra discount for the merchandise she was purchasing, to what the staff member reply "if you don't have enough money, don't come to buy anything". I experience her rudeness myself, when she intervene in my conversation I was having with a family member and so she stated that she understood what we were talking about and that the price was correct. My second encounter with her was when she in a very rude way asked me why I did not have the hangers of the clothing I was buying, while making the payment, she kept canceling the transaction and went on to say that I had make a phone call to have my bank deposit money to my account in order for me to be able to pay once the transaction went through at another station. All this was done in the presence of other customers. When I requested to have a manager come and talk to me, she went on and left the front of the store and told her story to whom I believe to be her supervisor. Her supervisor came out and immediately assumed that I was the one who was rude to her and told me that customer should not be rude to the staff members. When I explained to her what had happened. She continued telling me that customers are a lot of the times the ones that are rude and that it should not be that way. I believe they should be trained to have a nice attitude towards everyone, not matter where people are from, because I noticed that the cashier picks and chooses who she wants to be nice to. User's recommendation: Avoid going to this place as much as possible. read more

I am writing this update more than a month later. Kristin Wheeler has left my text messages asking for my receipt on read and said over the phone that she would "need to check on" where my proper donation receipt was. I filed a Better Business Bureau complaint on May 7. The BBB mailed 2 correspondence's to the business and made a phone call, all of which were ignored. I have now also attempted to reach Director of Donated Goods Heidi Dodson, who did not answer my phone calls. read more

This is a pretty good Goodwill as Goodwills go. I can always find something here. I like the organization. Clothing is arranged by size and color. The staff is friendly and thank goodness they stopped locking the dressing room doors! Now I don't have to beg someone to let me in every time I want to try on clothes. I find a lot of Eddie Bauer and Ann Taylor stuff here. The shoes are so so. VHS tapes are cheap at .59 cents. Furniture selection is thin. My only gripe- you can pretty much be guaranteed that 90% whatever tag is the "sale" color for that week, has been pulled from the racks the previous week. This isn't specific just to this location, but most every other Goodwill I've ever been to...and believe me, I've been to a lot. The major pro - donate something and get either a tax reciept or a 20% off coupon that never expires! And when I say donate "something", I mean ANYTHING...a t-shirt, a box of crayons, you name it. How cool is that? Bring in a paperback book and get 20% your total order. Do the math. Fabulous! Worth the time and effort of stopping in. You'll be pleased. read more
