ATTENTION this is not a store, I repeat, this is not a store that you can shop at. This is a little shack that is on the Makai (ocean) side of Kahala Mall parking lot. This little shack will accept your donations. The day my better half and I came to drop off some items had a person who in my opinion was kind of lazy as she had me bring the items inside while she just sat in the chair. I'm sure she must not be getting paid a boat load of money but isn't that your job to do that? She explained that they ran out of the donation slips and gave me a piece of paper with handwritten of many boxes and bags I donated. I forgot something else I wanted to donate so we came back and she actually got up and took it from me. I guess if you don't want the hassle of dropping off your items at the store where you might have to double park as someone else is dropping off their items, then this might be a good alternative.

    Not nice employee

First time coming here and the employee was RUDE. Not friendly and I will not be donating here again. If you don't like your job quit. It's not hard to greet, take items and write a receipt

So slow & not accurate of donation!

Very convenient donation center whenever we go to kahala mall. Like that they dont X out the donation slip anymore!

Trying to do something good by dropping off some things at this donation center. However the worker was very rude. Did not answer my question upon arrival. He immediately shouted out to us to stop where we were standing. Very rude upon arrival, not a friendly person. Probably will not return to this location.

Nearly all the envelopes had stains on them, and they sold this box of cards, which they got for free, for 5.00

We were in the Kahala area and remembered that there's a small donation center in the covered parking lot by the theater wing of Kahala Mall.

Seasonal stuffs are fun to find. Most items look lightly used or brand new. Once in a while there are junkie items but generally most are in a decent condition. Prices can't be beat. Visit often because some days it's a treasure trove and other days slim pickings.

Shopping in Kaimuki, Honolulu, Hawaii…read more.. After 4 years of renovation, Goodwill Store is again open on Waialae Avenue! Located on the Ground Level of the new Civil Beat Plaza, the Grand Opening was at 9:30am on 9-1-23, Friday. The long line was formed way before 8:45am when I arrived. I parked in the free, open surface parking lot on Wilhelmina Rise, which filled up quickly. Free Refreshments, chances to win gift certificates from nearby Kaimuki businesses (examples: Chubbies Burgers, Daily Whisk Matcha, Cowcow's Tea, Koa Pancake House, Otto Cake, Broken Rice, Atsuka Nabe & Shabu Shabu, and $50 at The Surfing Pig), live music, and gift cards for the first 100 customers were the draw. At 10am, the first 300 people were allowed in the store. I happened to be #175. No gift card for me, but I got a free Donut from Zippy's, and a raffle ticket! Thank you! I enjoyed the clean, bright, air-conditioned, organized, spacious environment! I'll be back soon! Congratulations on your beautiful renovation!

Helping Hands was so much closer to where we live compared to Salvation Army or Goodwill. I like that Helping Hands is truly a nonprofit organization because they don't sell your donated goods to the people who need them. People can come get the goods for free at helping hands. Staff were always very friendly and helpful with unloading my car. They are also very good about giving me the tax write off forms. (Salvation Army has you go to a website to get tax form and I couldn't even create an account successfully on the website. Kept getting error message.) Helping hands drop off times are Monday to Friday from 11 AM to 2 PM so the drop off window is pretty limited.

I always refer my clients there to get free household goods such as bedding, pots and pans, dishes, etc. I always drop off my donations there. Every Christmas - they have Adopt A Family and I love seeing our clients get items they wouldn't be able to get for their family since it is so expensive living here in Hawaii. They also have the Ready To Learn program which gives students school supplies for the upcoming year. They have other programs so please donate any household items or give a monetary donation if you are able! Thank you Helping Hands Hawaii!
