Unfortunately friendliness and people skills don't seem to be prerequisites for staff, so that aspect of the organization has been sort of a hit and miss for years. However another (more recent) negative move is the organization's decision to become political by changing it's mission statement - jumping on board the pandering train. This was clearly unnecessary, as the original mission statement was perfect. And to be fair, the first sentence of the new mission statement would have been fine all by itself. But apparently someone with an agenda to push has been successful in at least partially derailing the trajectory of the organization. I hope they fix that.

At a former job of mine, Food Share allowed the educational non-profit organization I worked for to shop weekly for fresh produce to distribute directly to elementary school students and families served in need, many of whom struggled with food insecurity. This partnership was vital, and very much appreciated by all because it helped improve food access throughout our community at wellness fairs and nutrition classes. Thank you for your hard work! You get to walk through and visit lit attractions, ride on a tractor, get up close to meet horses, cook s'mores, meet Santa, create arts and crafts, and have hot chocolate and goodies along the way. It's a great way to spend a nice Friday or Saturday evening in December. The staff is very friendly and the lights are nice to look at and some are interactive. There is a discount if you are a Girl Scout member and the food and drinks are priced very reasonably. My only recommendation would be to offer more food options in the lodge in case families want to have a casual dinner there (i.e. pizza, sandwiches, salad). Tip: Wear western boots to avoid getting pebbles in your shoes. Bring a flashlight or where lit clothing so you can see in the dark.
