This is a humble size location and the layout is very easy to maneuver. I didn't leave with any purchases; however, there were a few good garments to be desired. Additionally, there was a lot of great artwork.

This place was huge inside and very neatly organized. In addition, prices seemed fairly reasonable. There was a plethora of clothes (lots of denim and every color t-shirt), and a nice selection of bric a brac, kitchen stuff, and glassware plus a section with furniture and pillows. There are also some paintings/pictures and frames. Electronics too. In the front, near the cashier, is a case with jewelry. Usually, I just like to browse through thrift stores. But today, I was looking specifically for a mini whisk to replace a lost one and surprisingly, I found the perfect tiny one. There was no price on it. At check out it was only 10 cents! Such a bargain :) I also found a small glass Pyrex dish to use in my microwave. It was only a $1. If you're in the area, this is a good place to browse. Who knows... you might even find what you're looking for.

Goodwill was found in 1902 by Boston Minister, Reverand Edgar J. Helms. He took donations from wealthy Bostonians and hired people who were poor and who could fix the items. The items were then given to the people who worked on them or resold. Goodwill's philosophy is "a hand up, not a hand out". I ended up at this Goodwill by chance. I needed to pull over to add water to my coolant reservoir. I just happened to land in the Goodwill parking lot which ended up being a happy accident because my friend found just the item she needed for 10 cents! This is a large and well organized store. Clothes are separated by style, color, and size. Whenever my daughter needed a costume for a school project, Goodwill was always the first place I headed for their inexpensive clothes. They have a vast selection of bric-a-brac, toys, accessories, jewelry, home decor, seasonal items, electronics, pet supplies, books, luggage, and a bunch of other stuff. If people in society use it, they carry it. My favorite find today was a wooden buffet table for $99 but sadly it was already sold. The good stuff goes quick! The selection is always changing so you can poke around and see what's new. Even when I don't buy something I enjoy looking around. Sometimes I am quite astonished at what I find. There is usually something to give me a giggle. When you do find a treasure it's cheap. Although I struck out this time you never know when you will find that perfect thing you didn't even know you needed.

Drop off was a breeze. I hope the items I left there will go to people who will really love them.

I'd like to avoid leaving a negative review but I tried going to this store location May 13th @ 820. Unfortunately when I tried entering at 830, the doors were locked. I then didn't see any employees till they left at 848. Have your hours changed?

Currently the Goodwill stores in Martin, Saint Lucie, Indian River counties close at 8:00 p. m. Monday-Saturday. Close at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.

It is a charity thrift shop run by volunteers - the best kind! Not sure what this building was beforehand, but it consists of many small rooms, and they are setup with different items and themes. This makes the place fun to explore. There is a men's room, a children's room, a kitchen room, a book and records room, etc. Some notable sections: a Christmas section, a room of mostly crystal (along with a collection of wedding bells that ring), and a religious/(Catholic?) section. Some furniture have labeled drawers where inside are treasures or additional items. I found a few scarves to take home with me. Not sure how comparable the prices are locally, but it seems to be in between the cheap and the upscale.

Pennies For Heaven is a thrift store founded in 1971 and operated by the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. The shop is run by friendly volunteers who raise money for the church by selling donated high end clothing and shoes, jewelry, accessories, men's clothing, household items, books, small appliances, golf equipment, books, children's clothing, and toys. The proceeds from all sales directly benefit the Mission and Ministry of Church of the Good Shepherd. They are a not-for-profit, so they do not charge sales tax. Pennies for Heaven is always having a sale. On the day I visited red tags were 50 percent off, red/yellow tags were 50 percent off, and blue tags were $1.00. The store is neatly organized and has interesting items at great prices. They accept donations of gently used items during our regular store hours. Furniture pickup is by appointment only.

Those in need of shelter would work side by side with volunteers to build affordable homes at no profit. House payments would be combined with no interest loans provided by supporters which would then be used to build more homes. In 1973, the Fullers took their house building concept to Zaire where they worked for three years. When they returned to the United States they founded Habitat for Humanity International in 1976. President Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn became involved and raised awareness. Habitat is now in all 50 states in the U.S. and in more than 70 countries. They have helped 29 million to be able to afford safe shelter. In 1991 Habitat for Humanity launched the concept of the ReStore in Winnipeg, Canada. In 1992 the first Habitat for Humanity restore opened in the U.S. in Austin Texas. The ReStores accept donations from the community and home improvement stores and then resells the items to the public at a discounted price. The profit from the ReStore supports the local Habitat for Humanity affiliate. I discovered this Habitat for Humanity Restore around the corner from where I had lunch. Compared to other restores I have visited, this store was cleaner, neater, and had more items. Several rooms were filled with furniture, clothing, accessories, home goods, decorative items, large and small appliances, toys, lamps, books, baskets, and linens. I was tempted by a $6 instant pot. On the day I visited they were having an additional 20 percent off pink tags. This is a great store to thrift, especially if you are setting up your first home. Shopping and donating to Habitat for Humanity really helps people in need.
