If I'm going to thrift shops, I prefer going to the smaller not for profit or charitable stores and supporting local. That being said, sometimes you just need something in particular and you happen to be nearby. Yesterday was that day. I've been invited to an Oktoberfest party where the requested costume was a dirndl or lederhosen. I was with another friend and they wanted to go to TJ Maxx next door so I thought I'd pop in to Goodwill and take a peek. I've had luck at finding or creating costumes at this location in the past, but not as much as I had this day! They had tons of kids costumes but it didn't look like they had many adult costumes left and they were all mixed together. I didn't know how long my friend would be so I started shuffling through the racks not feeling hopeful. Then, there it was, the dress I was looking for. I pulled it out and it looked tiny, in fact, I wasn't sure it wasn't kids size. I almost put it back but decided to try it on just in case. There was a wait for the dressing rooms but the girl who was attending to them was chatty, nice and funny. I tried it on and it actually fit. It was a stretchy fabric and it still had room to give. I was shocked and it came with accessories. There were knee high socks, a choker and a flower crown, none of which appeared to have ever been worn. What are the chances you go into a store, let alone a thrift store and find exactly what you are looking for? For me, past experiences would say slim chance. Today was that day. The check out line was really long but it moved pretty quickly. When I got to the counter I had another surprise. The friendly cashier informed me that all costumes were 50% off. Wait what? I hadn't seen the sign on the front door when I came in. So not only did I find exactly what I was looking for, but it was $7.50. Amazing! I'll definitely come back here when I'm in need of a costume in the future. Question is, can lightening strike twice? I hope so. read more

By far the best Goodwill I've ever used. Friendly, accommodating and a very well run and convenient Goodwill drop off center right. They do not accept large furniture or electronics but for clothing and smaller items I was really surprised at all the items they did accept. read more

Cute little Goodwill located in a shopping mall next to TJ Maxx and Dollar Tree. A little smaller than other stores, but the inside was clean and organized like a boutique. A large selection of clothing in stock but smaller selection of electronics and furniture/ home decor. Prices were a little on the higher end for a resale store, but they had nice brands and clean, gently used items ( for example, I picked up a Michael Kors top for $11.00 and Talbots navy shorts for $10). The dressing rooms were clean, uncluttered, and attendants were friendly and helpful. It was one of the more nicer, cleaner Goodwill I have been to. I would recommend stopping by to browse through the store if you are shopping in the area. Having a TJ Maxx next door was a plus! read more

LADIES BEWARE OF THIS REGULAR CREEPY MAN: I want to start by saying that the employees at this Goodwill are genuinely kind, helpful, and hardworking. The store itself is extremely organized and well maintained, which is something I really appreciated. Unfortunately, my experience was overshadowed by a very uncomfortable situation. There is an older man who regularly follows women around the store and lingers near the fitting room area. During my visit, his behavior made me and others feel unsafe and uneasy. We reported this to the employees, who were sympathetic and clearly uncomfortable themselves. However, we were told they are unable to ask him to leave because he is friends with the store's manager. It was also shared that there have been multiple complaints about this individual, and even employees feel uncomfortable around him. Knowing that this behavior is allowed to continue is extremely disappointing. It is upsetting that management would prioritize a personal relationship over the safety and comfort of both customers and staff. This experience left me feeling uneasy, and it sends the message that inappropriate behavior toward women is being tolerated. I truly hope management takes this seriously and makes changes to ensure everyone feels safe while shopping here. read more

We came to that Goodwill to donate some clothes (NEW with TAG) on Sat evening January 11, 2025. The person in donation center told us the store does not accept clothing . Because we learned from Goodwill website they accept clean, reusable clothing, we said that our clothes were new and we just came for drop off no need for receipt. But he did not pay attention and ignore us. Bad!. So the next day, we went to the other Goodwill located at 10601 Tierrasanta Blvd, San Diego, CA 92124. The gentleman in donation center was nice and helpful. I recommend to find a better charity to support, who might actually appreciate your support. read more

Happened to be in this shopping mall and decided to go in to see if I can find anything interesting. Coming to Goodwill every few years to find little treasures is always a treat. The store is well organized and very clean. There are very interesting items for every kind of taste. I found couple of tall art deco style cut glass stands and a ceramic white Chinese Dragon. All in all, it was a successful shopping experience. The line moved fast and the young lady behind the counter was pleasant and very helpful. read more

Completely overpriced. Goodwill is 100% donations making it 100% profit. It was designed for people who need but can't afford. Yet they want retail prices for SHEIN. You're better off going into the tj maxx next door and getting something for less the price. Love coming here because of the location. Right by a big TJMax, dollar store, teris cafe etc. really love it though because they have good finds. I asked what was the color of the day and was told San Diego County TOOK AWAY THE COLOR DISCOUNTS. that is just greed. The items are 100% donated. Why do you need to take away a perk given at every other Goodwill unless you are wanting to increase your bottom line? I also noticed only higher end items were at this location. I enjoy shopping at this store. The workers are always nice and helpful, although the prices of clothes can be a bit high as some people have mentioned. However, I'm reviewing the donation drop off in the back. Everywhere else I go to drop off things at goodwill and other thrift stores are always willing and able to help you unload your donations out of your car. Whether it's a few things or a big load. I had a big and heavy load of things from moving, and the gentleman (who didn't even greet me with a hello), at this location (by TJ Max) stood behind his podium table and watched me unload the items and make several trips. He pointed to which bin I needed to put the things in. I kind of laughed and mentioned I've always gotten help unloading things. He grabbed one of the bins I had, and placed where it needed to go. May not be a big deal to some, but I recommend going to the other drive up locations if you need help unloading, as chivalry is dead at this location. read more

Goodwill is not the place it used to be. Broken, damaged candles for 5 bucks with tj max right next door brand new at the same price. The people out back are always rude and make you do weird things now, I remember being able to come here and just drop stuff off. Now I need to do their job too? Lots of clothes but not so much in the way of home goods, electronics, etc. The items had different colored tags but it didn't look like this location did any color-specific sales like I've seen at other locations (no signs or anything). Poor customer service from staff as all reviews have mentioned. They don't consider pharmacists medical professionals for their 10% discount. People who don't know pharmacists are doctors, enough said. However the discount is 10%. On items that we're given to the store for free. So like let's be greedy and not give $1 off to someone who has more education that you just because you can. I didn't like the vibe in there. Went to donate a bunch of office furniture that was in good condition that was not being used anymore. Loaded everything up and went to drop it off. The guy told me they wouldn't take any furniture. Since when do these places get so picky??? Told me I could drive to San Diego and see if another store would take them. With gas the way it is, no thank you. Went to drop off a car full of clothing and furniture, and some other household items. The Goodwill employee started picking through everything saying he'll take this and not that... some perfectly good framed paintings that were hanging in our home for years he wouldn't take (and never said why). In my opinion, he just wanted items they could resell quickly at the highest profit. He had such an ungrateful attitude like he was doing me a big favor. I said OK then I'll take the rest somewhere else... went to the DAV thrift store on Coast Highway in Oceanside where they cheerfully unloaded the rest, said thank you and gave me a receipt. This is the second time I've had this experience with Goodwill. Once I got home, I decided to do some research. Sadly, Goodwill is really just a thrift store marketing itself as a charity that provides work to disabled people. I would encourage you to Google Goodwill Industries - they have some very shady business practices. Of particular concern is the small amount of revenue that goes to actual charitable work. In addition, they treat their employees very poorly and have actively fought against raising the minimum wage. A good article to check out is "The Dark Reality Behind America's Greatest Thrift Store Empire," by Alice Minium. Plenty of other charities that really are out to help society... why patronize one with such a poor reputation? Just my thoughts. read more

Thrift store shopping is always a hit or miss...but this location was a definite HIT!!! I found a creme Vince Catumo trench for $7.99 in my size!!! Got 4 other pieces for the winter which totaled out to only $37. The store was very clean, organized, and the staff was very friendly.
