Employees are SO RUDE every time I've gone in. They consistently hurry you out of the store near closing time. Not welcoming towards children. Very ungrateful. i live super close, and i really really love shopping, so the idea of being able to get 4 times as many clothes for the same price as shopping outlets sounds much better to me. i go here at least twice a month, and i'm always able to find quite a few things. i guess it depends on how picky you are as an individual, but if you spend a decent amount of time i bet you'll be able to find something to your liking. there's a hefty amount of pretty much everything, but i would say this goodwill in particular is much better for bottoms. it might take a minute or two to really look, but if you do, you won't leave empty handed for sure. just takes patience i would say. the staff here are super sweet too, they seem to genuinely enjoy their job. only downside is that it gets pretty crowded and people are inconsiderate so you need to mentally prepare for that or get aggressive to peacefully shop lmfao read more

Goodwill - Oceanside is the smallest I've ever been to, and I've been to Goodwills from coast to coast. Because they have to cram major inventory into a small space, only the professional thrifter should shop here. The casual thrifter will be overwhelmed and curse this place. But if you have the guts, you will find glory here. I'm not into purchasing clothes, but I'm always on the lookout out for kitchen accessories. I also donate frequently here and donations are accepted in the rear of the building. You'll find a good amount of lightly used kitchen items but you're not going to come out a winner at every visit. Employees are so sweet and helpful. This store is so clean and organized!. I always leave with something here. Even found some nice Michael Kors watches, bags, cute dresses and knits . Cant beat the prices . I also Donate only to this store on the regular and have always had a pleasant interaction with the employees here. read more

I tried to donate a comforter here on a Wednesday. The employee was literally standing right in front of me and refused to take it as it wasn't their donation day. Today was my last time in this store. Never again. A decent clothing label would die of loneliness here. & who does the pricing??? $7.99 for a Chico`s shirt??? They even have tacky Lane Bryant shirts marked as "Boutique". Lane Bryant... Boutique!! As if! I visit as many Goodwill stores as I can, I enjoy the hunt for the unusual. Today & tomorrow in the LA County stores all clothing is $2. Why cant SD County do the same? Oceanside should be doing an "Everything $2" event. Every time I`ve been there nothing is worth more than $2. Even in the worst Neighborhoods you can usually find something in a local Goodwill. I suspect the stuff here is "picked over" by someone in the back before it hits the floor. I know they do that in LA & its sent to their "high end" stores in Huntington Beach & other places. I was a regular shopper at this Goodwill for 2 years. They recently moved to a bigger space next to the TJ Maxx. This review is based on the new location. All I can say is "Wow Goodwill, you got greedy!" Just because you are in a new building doesn't mean it's right for you to charge $25 for a used Converse Shoe. That's the same price TJ Maxx was selling a clearance NEW Converse shoe. I typically buy shoes to resell and I was so shocked at the prices they were charging. At their old location, they charge 5.99-9.99 on shoes. This new location....$9.99 and up. I walked out of there not buying anything. I also saw a lot of customers looking at the prices and putting the shoes down. I don't know if your jacking up the prices to pay for your new bills but good luck moving that overpriced inventory. Hopefully in a couple of weeks you'll come up with better pricing strategies. read more

NO GOOD, NO GOOD. THE HIGHEST PRICED THRIFT STORE IN SAN DIEGO..............PERIOD!!! Yes, this GW is smaller than most, but the issue is that it is grotesquely overpriced. Goodwills help employ people yes. But most people do not know that even though they are "non-profit", they are still a privately owned company. An the owner or CEO can pretty much make a profit, believe that, just look it up. I think that everyone should avoid this GW, so this may force them to bring back the pricing to what it should be. Usually at GW stores I can walk out with a bag of shirts for under $20. Not at this one. Please boycott this one. The one in north Oceanside or in Escondido are great, and have great prices. Even the workers are nicer at the other ones than this one. This store here defeats the who purpose of a thrift store which is prices......... period. read more

This place is a hit or miss just like any other thrift store. I've gone in here a few times and left with nothing or change my mind once I got to the cashier. But other times, I get lucky and find a great deals on brand name clothes like H&M, Forever 21, and much more. Once I went in and purchase (authentic) 7 for all mankind jeans for $12! WHAT?! From my experience, there's a legitimate reason why the Yelp reviews for this Goodwill store average only 2.5 stars. I donated once to this store and will never do it again. The attendant at the rear of the store was rude and unappreciative of the donation. Unlike other thrift stores, he couldn't bring himself to utter a 'Thank You'. This guy had an ugly demeanor and should never have been allowed to interact with the public. read more

first note San Diego goodwill's have some of the highest prices and least amount of markdowns of well pretty much anywhere (I have travelled a lot, most recently to Vegas and the Good will there had lots of discounts with $2 days and senior discount was I think 20 or 25%. So yes. Despite that, you can still find GREAT deals, you just have to look harder. Best prices: Mens tshirts - I think $2.50 or $3. I also found a super cute Free People Jacket for $8.99 and yes higher than a lot (note a lot of thrifts in San Diego county price up) but still a great price on what was probably a $125 jacket. Lastly I have to say the staff here is super nice, and I have run into some pretty cranky/nasty shoppers. The last two times I was there someone just stepped in front of me/the line and they waited on them. Luckily each had only one thing. Note also this store to me is a good size. Medium ish. Thrifter notes - I have found Salvation army stores have better discounts overall. But again have found some great stuff at GW including this one. read more

I love goodwill for the bargins so I tried this out since it's convient and I must say that I will drive to the one out in vista from now on. It's SOO small and the selection isn't bad but it's overpriced for a goodwill-7$ for a shirt? The shirts at the goodwill in vista are 4.99$. Since it's so small and in such a major location it's very picked over, people pushing past you in the isles (which I know is a thrift store thing but it's really bad here) and there is always a really long line at the cash register. Staff is nice, and it's organized as much as a small store like this can be. No furniture. read more

Did it ever occur to all the complainers wanting praise for donating items that they don't want, that accepting donations is hard work and just because you're donating it, doesn't mean it's needed or resellable. Someone has to go through all of the items you give and either clean it up to put it on the shelf or figure out what to do with it if they can't sell it. Yes, goodwill is for profit and needs to make funds to pay their employees who are trying to make a living in the same expensive town YOU live in, and WITH a DISABILITY. Goodwill also runs other services and programs. They are not just there to be grateful to you for dropping off your junk. With that said, would a simple "thank you" be appropriate? You betcha. But, consider how many people drop off a lot of stuff, creating a lot of work for the employees, that in return has to be recycled or disposed of at NO COST to you. read more

Every employee I encountered at this store was SUPER RUDE. The man checking my friend out, had an attack because she didn't stand behind the line. Mind you there are no signs saying that the tape on the ground is were the line started. There was no one else in line either . "Meh. I've experienced better" is exactly how I felt about this place. There's not much of a home department, which is my favorite. So, ok, I'll shop for clothes. Hmmm...I don't think so. Its the type of clothing that you find in your parents attic. Like t-shirts and jeans that are only a few years old and don't have that worn in vintage appeal yet, they're still kinda new and cheesy. I prefer the Goodwills where you find dusty old boots, cracked leather jackets, see-through worn cotton tees, and bleach stained wranglers. Unless you have no way to get to another thrift store I would avoid this one. I was temporarily without a car and this was within walking distance so I tried it out a couple of times. As others have noted it is overpriced . Their boutique section had a Tommy Bahama (used) shirt at $19.99. Their Ralph Lauren golf shirts (again used) were $6.99. I bought a new one on sale at TJ Maxx for $7. As some-one else noted Kohls sale items may also be cheaper. The books are ridiculously priced and because they price by size of books the clerks decided what size it is and charge accordingly. I had bought several paperback fiction books and was charged 75 cents which seemed a bit high but then when I went another time I was told that the same size books were considered large and so they were $1.99 each. $1.99 for a used fiction paperback -- needless to say I did not buy them. I would add that they had shelves full of books -- I wonder why ?? The sales assistants do seem to vary with regard to customer service. One in particularly is downright rude and surly. Asked me to check my handbag at the counter because it was too large. Sorry but that is the size of bags these days. The others were very pleasant. Will I go there again - no. I will wait until I have transportation and go to the Amvets. They need to realise that it is good to fund jobs for others but the customers buying also need to be charged a reasonable price read more

WTF, since when does a store need special hrs just to be given a gift??? I was insulted at just her attitude so I said U know what I'll trash it instead... There is a private lot for the store entrance, but if you dropping things off, you need to pull into the back of the store which is accessed by a back entrance on Plaza drive closer to the DMV office. There is always someone staffing the back drop-off area. Super quick and efficient process. If you rather, Goodwill has an additional drop-off only site inside the park-n-ride lot off of College beside the 78 ramp. read more

This store is tiny, just remodeled, is clean and organized, and the people are very nice. My complaint is that they have raised the prices too much. Many items are broken or missing pieces and marked ridiculously high. Some items I could buy for the same price or cheaper new at a regular store.
