This is a great location and includes free bathrooms and it's clean and the staff are very nice and friendly and there are a lot of staff will help out if needed and you also have fitting rooms. There are a lot of great things you can find here if you are looking for something that you can't find somewhere else or use clothing that you'd rather recycle or up cycle because you don't believe in wasting resources in buying new items as I do. This store has a serious and ongoing problem with employee behavior. On multiple visits, I have witnessed staff being openly rude, hostile, and completely unprofessional. Employees regularly talk badly about customers to each other within earshot, with particular disdain directed at resellers. What's most disturbing is that this is clearly not an isolated incident. The same negative conduct happens repeatedly--employees loudly complaining about how much they hate their jobs, mocking customers, and treating people with obvious contempt. It creates an uncomfortable, toxic environment that makes customers feel unwelcome and disrespected. This level of behavior reflects a deeper cultural issue, not a bad day. Management has either failed to address it or is choosing to ignore it. Until there is accountability and a complete reset of customer service standards, I strongly advise others to shop elsewhere. I frequently shop at the Northbrook location on 2740 Old Willow Rd, and unfortunately this store has consistently had the most rude and unprofessional employees I've encountered within this company. Over the past several months, I've personally experienced poor treatment and have also spoken with multiple other shoppers who report similar behavior. There is widespread concern among customers that some employees look up items and hide them or set them aside for friends, and that at least one individual allegedly compensates employees with gift cards in exchange for merchandise. Resellers in particular are often treated with open hostility. These issues are well known among regular shoppers, and they significantly affect the shopping experience and trust in this location. I have photos documenting some of these incidents and can also provide additional witnesses who have experienced or observed the same behavior. I sincerely hope corporate management takes the time to investigate and address these ongoing problems. read more

Hmmm.... where to begin... I have not been at this store in quite some time. I am shocked at the low grade of merchandise at the store level. It is obvious that all the "good" stuff NEVER makes it to the shelves! It all goes online. Nothing in the store worth noting except clothes and JUNK! Their annual sales are around 8 yes 8 Billion!!! Shopping was great, except the cashier. He looked like he didn't care. Basically threw our clothes at us for us fold and the paper to wrap our plates, barely helped. Just threw the receipt on the counter, made us feel like wanting to leave immediately. read more

I bought a beautiful pair of leather gloves for $4. The new Goodwill labels are are loaded with a super sticky glue that doesn't come off. If it's on a paper surface it can't be removed without damaging the paper or package. I tried to get the sticky residue off the gloves without success and the gloves were ruined in the process. I doubt whether Goodwill will throw out their inventory of a zillion labels. But managers could at least instruct pricers to think about where to place the label. read more

I'm often visiting this store, sometimes to kill time, sometimes to look for something unique and interesting. The store staff is well trained, very knowledgeable and professional . They communicate with customers with respect and dignity. Under supervision of their manager Mike( sorry I don't know his last name) the store always looks clean, organized and has a very pleasant atmosphere. I will not go to this store again. I have been a supporter of "the Goodwill mission" for many years and a patron of the store on Willow Road in Glenview. However, recently when shopping there with a friend, I discovered that customer loyalty to Goodwill counts for nothing in their eyes. My friend was falsely accused of replacing a price tag on an item with a tag of lesser value. Anyone who knows my friend would laugh at this accusation, since she has a sterling reputation and is probably the last person who would stoop to such an action. The security guard approached us as we were leaving the store, and in a manner that actual police officers would reserve for bank robbers, flashed some sort of badge and told my friend to get back in the store so that she could "have a conversation with her." Otherwise, she would call the local police. She ordered me to stay outside - clearly this conversation was not to take place in front of a third party. Since she had no grounds for telling me to stay outside, I followed them in, but was not allowed near "the conversation." This security guard claimed she had been following my friend around the store and saw her switch the tag on the item - some artificial flowers. The item had old glue residue on it from the original retail price tag, but no evidence of a tag being moved. This guard does not have a body camera, so long story short, the problem came down to the guard's word against my friend's. My friend denied the accusation, but she offered to pay the so-called original price. She was told that payment would not be sufficient. She would have to confess to moving the tag in order to be allowed to continue entering this store in the future. Needless to say, my friend refused to confess to a "crime" she did not commit, and now has been banned from Goodwill for 60 days. She complained to the Goodwill regional office. Since she is a long-standing member of the Goodwill rewards program, she assumed that given her years of history in good standing - not to mention many donations - Goodwill would settle the "she said, she said" conflict in her favor. Not so. Apparently, there is no recognition of loyalty to the Goodwill mission, and the central office said they "had to" support their security guard's accusation regardless of the lack of evidence. I also wrote to Goodwill via their website, but they did not even acknowledge the message. I can only conclude that the democratic principle of "innocent until proven guilty" is not practiced by Goodwill. I don't know about my friend, but personally I will never set foot in that store again. read more

As an out of state businessman, I stop by local Goodwill stores as I travel the country. I think this is one of the best stores out there having a well organized selection of high quality products that are reasonably priced. The busy staff is always friendly and willing to assist at a moment's notice. Having visited the store last night I look forward to a quick return today before I'm back on the road and on to the next city! read more

Goodwill has become a cash cow after the recent increase in resellers. Prices are way too high. I bought a pair of Jordan's from this place that cost 99 dollars. Which was a fair price for new shoes that are Jordan's. I guess this is mostly my fault for buying them from a good will, but I thought maybe they knew what they were doing. After getting them home and doing some research they are 100% fake and it only took 20 min to figure it out. I'm fine taking the blame on this but I feel like you should have an authentication process in place to make sure you are not selling knock off shoes for a lot of money. You clearly have people working there that know how to price items and tell when they are expensive. For example old paintings, electronics etc. why not take 30 minutes to train the staff on expensive shoes if you're going to ask premium prices? read more

We go here often, but in the past year or so, the quality of the merchandise has declined, but prices have gone up. It used to be that you could find name-brand clothing items at a reasonable price, but now, often what I see is Croft and Barrow (Kohls brand), Universal Thread (Target brand), or Shein. I can walk across the street to both Target and Kohls and get brand new items for almost the same price. Shirts used to be $3.99 or less, but now are often $6.99 or $7.99. What I do like about this store is that clothes are sorted by color and type (short-sleeved, long-sleeved, color). We used to find quality glassware too, especially things like German steins or European plates, but now everything is pretty average. read more

Not sure who/where the gentleman that left 5 stars is from... have to assume an executive for Goodwill. To quote " well organized selection of high quality products". Was just there to check it out and I don't think so. The products... (did not spend time on clothes and shoes) were a mix of poor quality and down right dirty used junk. Sorry, calling it like I saw it. FYI, the prices are on the high side (used up dirty keyboards) around $5 I don't think so. Did not find any good stuff while I was there. Everything that is worth something goes online where things sell for almost retail. I for one will never donate to this sham of a charity. read more

I would say this location is average. They have some nice dishes and silver. The clothes are hit or miss. Lots of clothes have small flaws you don't notice immediately, so check carefully because there's a lot of stuff on sale with small holes, rips, stains, broken zippers. My main pet peeve about this location, though, is the Asian female disabled employee. She is not cut out to work unsupervised. I get it that's she's disabled and I appreciate that Goodwill provides employment opportunities for the disabled. However this particular employee has dropped and broken numerous items in the time I've been there. She also rudely pushed her cart down the aisle when putting things on shelves, practically bulldozing into anyone standing in her way. Last time I was there she farted loudly on purpose and then was laughing about it. She's never actually supervised by a real employee. Please either supervise her or put her to work behind the scenes because it's a real turn off to shoppers. read more
