Been dropping off donations at this location. Recently they changed their policy regarding receipts. You have to scan the QR code and sign up. However, by the time they send you a one time link to verify your email, it said account cannot be found. Tried to log in a few times and I gave up. Yesterday I dropped off more clothes and toys. I was told to scan the QR code and sign in. I was about to do it when the white lady standing on the side finally got a paper receipt. I went back and asked for a paper receipt. It's like pulling teeth from this girl who insisted I scan the QR code while she gave the other lady a paper receipt. Discrimination or outright rude? I told her I want my donation bags back so I can drop them off at another location. She then decided to give me a paper receipt! Those people have no good customer service. You're getting donations to sell so the least you can do is hire courteous workers! read more

I come here all the time amd usually service is impeccable. The staff from front desk to stocking to management i have become a regular here becasie of the service. HOWEVER, Today was HORRIBLE. STAFF WAS REDICULOUSLY RUDE AMD NON HELPFUL AT ALL! THR MABAGER BRIAN SUCKED AT MANAVEMENT. I love thrifting and a frequent shopper at this location. I asked for an item to be placed aside for me. An Asian male cashier placed the item aside. I came back less than 10 min and the item was gone. The issue is not that they sold the item, it is the attitude of the employees when I came back to retrieve the item. Rude and with amnesia. All they had to say is they didn't want to hold the item or could not hold the item. As a frequent customer the employees attitude was disappointing. read more

It's a small store, but there's usually good finds here! Came here with the kids and one found some never worn name brand clothes she liked, and my son found some open box Heelys that he had been asking for. I understand Goodwill needs to make money to reach their goals and mission. However, when the price of vinyls are way more expensive than that of an actual record store, it's pretty annoying. The vinyls are not even in good condition either. They price it at 2.99 for a single LP and 4.99 for 2-vinyl LP, not taking into consideration the quality of the record. Should I expect a more accurate pricing from Goodwill? Don't you think they would want to move these vinyl records faster if they priced it low? I mean they had a sale on clothes this past weekend and it was $ 2.00 per piece. I didn't get anything, there was not one thing that caught my eye. Oh well. This goodwill is decent. Not the best fan of the pricing but that's an overall goodwill critique that shouldn't apply to this specific location. It's so so on the size of the store. Not sure if the fitting rooms are still being used but pre pandemic they are rather spacious and nice. The store is a bit messy but to be expected for a goodwill. I do find items here so it's not bad. The men's section is decent and the women's sections is pretty nice. They do have a good selection of frames and shoes. Don't come here if you are looking for furniture or decor. Those departments lack but not the locations fault as it's donation based. The staff here is super amazing that's why my score is a bit better than what it should be. They are pretty diverse and are super helpful plus get really bad customers and still keep their cool. They do take cards and even tap/Apple Pay. Wouldn't be my go to but if you're in the area a quick pop in does help. I just got a keyblade from here, how wild. read more

this is hands down the worst goodwill i have been too. i have traveled to many goodwills and across the states. this store is so so so awful and poorly ran. who makes the prices here? this store does not follow goodwills prices or its values. this is not a goodwill boutique or one of the special goodwills. first of all goodwill sells their vhs for .99 cents. who would pay 5.99 even for the real lion king?! no one has a vhs player anymore. i collect vhs and especially at goodwills they are always .99 cents. how are they 5.99 here for knock of disney movies? their glassware varies so much. 19.99 for a random glass pot?! 4.99 for that random glass bottle? what the hell is going on here. i am calling corporate and complaining about this store. you can't just up charge everything. the store is filthy and disorganized. their workers? even worse. she even said, "2.99 that's cheap. oh wait it says 8.99 that's about right." she then told me my total and i had my card in my hand and she rudely said, "dont put that card in my machine til i tell you." screw her. screw this goodwill. goodwill is supposed to be affordable and reasonable and goes to a good cause. screw this store. shut it down. read more

I needed home decor and a new jacket. I went in with intentions for these specific things, and was satisfied to find exact those. The staff was friendly and things were organized well enough to find what I needed. They even announced when the new rack of miscellaneous items were coming out onto the floor. This location is especially dirty and the workers rude. The middle/late age heavyset Hispanic woman continued to try to parent customers children and scold them and accuse other shoppers of dropping items on the ground and not picking them up. This location is closest to me which is why I come here on rare occasions: however, everyone I do I am reminded that it's more worth it to drive to a cleaner location and where the employees appear to want to be a work and are kind. read more

This is the Goodwill center located in the same shopping center as TJ Maxx that we do the majority of our donating to. If you're planning on dropping off donations, drive to the very right of the center and enter in the back parking lot section beyond the chain link fence. Make your way around the corner to the back and you'll see the opened back area to the Goodwill center. Donations are tax-deductible and they will count how many bags and categorize your items in order to print out a receipt showing what you donated and how much. I recommend you check your receipt before leaving as I've had them misrepresent what I've donated (donated some small furniture and bags of clothes, but the receipt indicated we'd only dropped off clothes and miscellaneous items). Staff in the back have never been welcoming or even very courteous. The last time I went, I had called in advance to make sure they were still accepting donations. They said they were until 6pm that day. But when I arrived a grumpy male employee in the back tried waving me away saying they aren't accepting anything more. When I told him I'd talked with someone, he got his manager and the manager reluctantly let me leave 3 of my 10 bags. Long story short - get there earlier than later if you don't want to run the risk of hauling your items back home. I like the fact that there are places like Goodwill around that will take donations that will hopefully be reused by other people rather than get dumped in a landfill. Called this place because I wanted to know at what time the drop off center closed and the call started to cut off so I wasn't able to hear what they were saying so when I asked them to repeat they responded very rudely-- & that's not the first time that I've experienced that at this place. I brought donations to the back door. A most incompetent worker. Too lazy to unload for your donations like other GW locations. I had 5 items: 2 plastic bags and 3 boxes. I unloaded the 2 plastic bags and 2 shoebox size boxes. I unloaded a larger box last and the gal refused to let me leave it, citing a 2 bag + 2 box limit. WTF? So I ended up leaving with the large box. It actually contained the more valuable donations. I'll leave it out the next time a local charity drives by. read more

Looked around here for a little after I dropped off a few bags of unwanted clothes out back. Nothing interesting in here, I prefer the Cerritos location. It has better selection but this store is smaller. It's organized and maybe if you dig, you will find something nice. I also had a similar experience like one of the posters below who inquired about dropping off donations. When I arrived at the thrift store, I asked if they accepted donations. The worker asked me what I was dropping off and stated that if the items were large like couches or large items, they could not accept them. Luckily all I had were a few bags of clothes and barbies which he readily accepted and took to the back while I shopped I didn't jump to any conclusions about his question, I thought he was just making sure the item was acceptable..I didn't think or suspect he was out to rip me off or anything, he was being helpful and friendly. I've been to this location several times and didn't find the experience quite inviting, but this time and last made up for it. The manager today was so amazing. I had bought some clothes friday and was concerned about one shirt cause of a stain that I didn't know if it would come out. So I decided to go back today to see if I could exchange it, however...I lost the receipt :( I did keep their little tags on it. So when I went in today, I asked for the manager. She let me exchange some clothes without my receipt because she remembered me shopping here last Friday! So nice to have good customer service. She was really sweet and cute. I had called yesterday and they said it wouldn't be okay, but to ask for the manager and maybe it will. I am glad I went in and tried! I've been donating to this Goodwill facility a lot lately because I've been purging all my belongings. I love how easy, efficient, & quick this facility handles donations. From Seal Beach Blvd, I go north just past Ball/ Wardlow, turn right into the alley behind the corner store, & go straight to the drop off area behind Goodwill. The staff there could be friendlier but they help unload if you need help & provide a receipt to you, if requested. I highly recommend this facility. read more

This is not your average Goodwill! It is smaller and looks like it was converted from a previously family-owned thrift store (or at least that's the vibe I got). You probably won't find your latest trends here but it's worth the surf for their lower priced items. They have their own pricing and their half off color of the day does not apply to non-clothing items. I was a bit distraught regarding a seemingly homeless woman and a loud red neck were shopping here as well. The area doesn't seems to be the best. Staff are nice and friendly and there are big fitting rooms though (3 items max). So we were planning on dropping off a sofa and 1yearold washer machine. My boss was worried it'd get torn if put straight on the bed of his truck, so I swing around the back to ask to borrow some cardboard boxes, or the stained rug in the reject pile. This is one of my favourite haunts. I come here at least twice a month, and I stay for at least an hour, each time. Yes, they're overpriced. The cheapest tee shirts are $1.99 - most apparel is much more. Dresses are about $7.99, no matter what they look like. Shoes range from about 7-10 dollars (more for boots). Purses are between 5 and 10 dollars. I have on occasion seen merchandise from the Target dollar section here marked up to about 2-3 dollars. But I really don't think it was intentional. And sometimes - SOMETIMES - you find a gem. And isn't that really the point of thrift-shopping? Treasure-hunting! A few months ago I went to this Goodwill and I found this adorable giraffe-print purse - by KATE SPADE. (No, I really don't think it's a knock-off.) It was marked 6 dollars. 6 dollars! OMG. I was so happy. Plus, the workers there are pretty cool. They don't mind how long you stay or how loud you are, even if you end up leaving empty-handed. They're also very friendly and helpful. I love this place. But I do think if they lowered their prices, they'd get a lot more business and end up making more money. You hear me, Goodwill on Wardlow? Just a friendly suggestion. Either way. I like this store. I come here often and usually don't have a bad time when I'm there. Of course the racks are messy and clothing is out of places some times but that's to be expected. The real drop in value comes from their pricing. Some items are regularly priced, and some are outrageous to the point of making you laugh to yourself. Of course they'll run up the price of an item they know is likely to sell so people have to double think if they're willing to leave behind the outrageous price for someone else to pick up. Leave the pricing randomness and stick to providing affordable clothes at a consistent and fair price. read more

Tiny store compared to other Goodwills, but has decent amount of stuff. *Just noting, this is right next to TJ Maxx* For a thrift shop, it's pretty pricey. I mean, a plain top for 5.99? I found better quality clothes for like $2-3 dollars at other thrift stores. But since I was there anyways, might as well dig for some stuff right? And yes, I did find some cute stuff! A VINTAGE DOONEY AND BOURKE leather drawstring backpack. I even checked online to see if it was real or not, and yes it is! :) And I only bought it for 9.99, which is really cool.
