I used to love going to Texas Thrift because they had a good selection of products and prices were…read moreonly slightly above average (I.e., a nice polo was $5-8). However, over the last few months they've been changing their pricing. Items that used to cost under $7 are now over $10. There are some items that they list at what would be typical MSRP. For example, an Under Armor hoodie with a big stain on it was listed for $20. This doesn't limit itself to clothes, I found several single quart Rubbermaid containers for $5 when a pack of 4 is around that. It seems like they only pay attention to the name of the brand and then ignore the condition of the items. The workers are always nice and the service is good. It sucks that they adjusted the prices on everything.

This store has gone absolutely downhill and has no intention of getting any better. Besides the…read moreinsane spike in prices and taking away their senior discounts with no notice, they invested in self checkout registers ..where you have to be helped in order to actually check out. If you thought the restroom situation could not get worse, check the pictures out for yourself. The entire hour I was there, the speaker kept calling for assistance in the restrooms and when I entered, I was absolutely speechless. There was actual on the toilet bowl, no locks on any stalls, and you can expect for there to be no toilet paper or hand soap. I can't even begin to imagine what the men's looks like. I left appalled by my entire experience and encourage someone who has some knowledge in cleanliness to take care of this issue above all else.

I realize thrift stores rely on donations, but several items we picked up were marked boutique but appeared more than lightly worn. Many of the clothing items were heavily worn and not in good repair. A necklace behind the counter was missing more than a few gems. The store is organized by categories but the lighting is awful, and makes it seem dirty even if it isn't, and there are dead ends/blocked aisles that require you to turn around and go the other way. Staff seemed friendly enough. I interacted 3 times with a young male teen and he seemed pretty low key minimal interaction but by the 3rd chat we hit it off to to speak. He's probably just slow to warm up. I did try on a few clothing items that I purchased. My friend also found something. But I don't think we will add this to our list of shops to frequent.

What I love most is the daily deals. The employees are always super helpful. They also have an area referenced as their "Boutique" items which are higher end items that are a little more pricey but again very good finds at a fraction of the retail price and in very good condition.

I'm sold. The goal is to be able to donate funds to families who are trying to adopt children. Right now they are still setting up and have a lot of work to do to get everything organized , but, there are so many items that are up for sale at very reasonable prices. They are planning a grand opening at the new year 2023. You will find furniture -used and brand new-, dishware, clothing, tools, garden items, office items -including usable laptops-, art, home decor, medical equipment such as wheelchairs, parts for home repairs such as doors and ceiling fans, and too many other items to list. I'll be coming back for cast iron skillets once they are put on display. This place will need a lot of help from the public to keep it running, so, I encourage you to come by and take a look. I'm glad I stopped by and met this awesome family working for a worthy cause. And by the way, I scored with beautiful Guinness glass to add to my collection at home.
