I have always been leery about dealership service departments, always waiting to see how many add-ons and sales pitches I will get which trying to do some basic service repairs. But when I moved to Maine and was looking for good place to take the Eos I thought...what the heck, let's see how this goes. Besides the one time they forgot to turn my horn back on after fixing my cruise control, service has been spot on! (Btw...you don't want to drive in Bath during tourist season without a horn...Oy Vey!) But I called and they got me right in to fix their mistake. One other thing I like is that they have free loaners when it is gonna take a bit. But if you want to wait, they have a lounge area with wifi, tv, coffee and snacks. Although I live in Boston and have a 2nd home in Bath, I get my service here whenever possible. They always take good care of me as a customer. My key stopped working and after following the instructions in the manual wo success, I popped in without warning. John checked out my key, said he'd be back in a minute. He came right back and had already changed the battery and tried it on my car to be sure it was working. I really appreciated John's help. He helped me the second I arrived. 4-30-24. I was looking for a Golf R for some time and stumbled across Morong VW of Brunsiwck ME online. I looked at the pictures that they had on the website and loved the Lapiz Blue exterior color as well as the Black Wheels. I would like to preface that i have NEVER purchased a car online and, after my Shi**y expereince with Morong, i never would again. I drove up from Boston ( approx 2HRS) on a Saturday to pick up car. I was greeted by the staff and then i took a look at the car before heading out for a Test Drive and the sales person Kierstin ( who is great BTW :-)) went out with me and tried to show me all the technology in the car as i am by no means technologically savvy. I went in a did all the paperwork and drove home. To add more context this was supposedly a Certified Pre- Owned VW that went through a 75 Point Checklist. Another supposed benefit when purchasing a new car. Operative word "Suppose To". That following Monday i took the VW Golf R to a local dealership in the town over from where i live to check it out. They had worked on my last GTI and the Team there is great. ** The ONLY reason i did not purchase from them is because they could not locate a used or new Golf R )** As they walked around the car both the Service Manager and Head Mechanic said "Russ these rear brakes and rotors are rusted and the Black Wheels you have are NOT Black. They were Silver with Black Electrical Tape over them!!!! ". AS you can imagine i thought they were bustin my Ba**s since i know them about the wheels. However, the joke was on me as Juan pulled back the Black Electrical Tape to show me the silver wheels!! I was like WTF... I paid $40,000.00 for this vehicle that supposedly came with the Certified Pre-Owned Status and within 3 minutes of looking at the car. Three Team Members from the dealership i know immediately picked out the fact that the rear brakes and rotors were bad and the wheels being covered in Black Electrical Tape!!! I then asked them " If someone supposedly did a 75 Point Inspection would they not have seen the brakes and rotors and when looking at the Tires for "wear and tear" notice they have Black Electrical Tape on them?".. His answer was 'Russ sometimes whoever is doing the inspection simply goes though the list fast and checks off the boxes while NOT spending the proper amount of time to look over vehicle" Suffice it to say i was PISSED off. I was soo pissed that i called Three other VW dealerships and asked the same question about a Certfied Pre-Owned Checklist and if it were done properly would they have noticed the rear brakes and rotors along with the wheels being covered in BLACK ELECTRICAL TAPE and all THREE said " They should have absolutely picked it up"! So i called the delaership and someone called me back by the name of Jesse and offred to pay for the new brakes and rotors. AS a small Business Owner myself, i pride myself on offering the BEst Customer Service i can and ALWAYS do the RIGHT THING. and for that I appreciated his willingness to repair the brakes at no charge. Mind you the delaership next to me did the work. However, when i asked if they would pay half the cost to get the wheels professionally painted Black their answer was "No". I wont even go into how much of a POS Nick Lamoreau is and how someone in the Service Indusrty has ZERO PEOPLE SKILLS. I then emailed Jesse Vincent and NEVER recieved a reply back.. I emailed Matt Sowles, and got no reply. Never have i ever purchased a vehicle since i was in my early 20's did i ever think that the car i purchased because i Loved the Look of it. Blue Exterior and Black Wheels that the wheels were NOT Black.. They were silver covered in BLACK ELECTRICAL TAPE!! I NEVER would have ever thought to double check that!! So, When i told my friends they ALL laughed at me. Saying "You bought a $40,000.00 VEhicle and the wheels had Black Electrical Tape. I have also emailed VW of North America and will soon take my complaints to the Attorney General Of Maine. I would NEVER do business with this vehicle again and will spend as much as it takes on Atoorneys to make my position known!! read more

Couldn't be happier with my purchase experience.- The staff was knowledgable and helpful. There was no high pressure sales push and I was treated with respect. When I wanted a variation they did not have on the lot they were prompt in finding just what I needed in Vermont and brought it within days. They did not keep me sitting for hours while they discussed my financing case with the manager as is so often the case with dealers. I got a good price with no fighting or cajoling and the car is more than satisfactory- I love it! I am hopeful that when I need service in the future the service department will be just as responsive. The parts department worked with me in making sure the order was exactly what I wanted. The service department accommodated me, since I was passing through the area, from a another state, some nearly 400 miles away, and thought that it would be a great idea to have the work done during my travels. This review is about service--specifically about the service desk manager at the dealership. Sales and mechanics seem great, but the guy at the desk concealed info about a huge class action settlement I know he knew about (VW middlemen have all been trained how to deal with customers from corporate), and tried to blame me for causing a known (timing tensioner) problem. I invested a significant amount of time working with Matt Sowles during a 3 day period. We made a deal, and put down a deposit on a car. I received a call the next day from Matt saying he could not deliver the car that he promised. Then giving him the benefit of the doubt, I continued to try to work with him to locate an alternative vehicle. For every 4 questions I would ask (by email now because I was out of the area), I got 2.5 answers. It was clear he was "checked out." His business practice was unprofessional. I was a good faith buyer and proved that by leaving a deposit. He blew the deal, and walked away showing no concern for my need to buy a car, and how much time I had invested in working with him to make this possible. I had to start all over with other dealers. Dropped my daughters car off last week for service. It was towed to the dealership after it broke down on the interstate, Went to pick up the car today. Paid the $1000.00 bill and thinking we were on our way... car wouldn't start. Freaking out because we weren't local and I just paid a hefty sum, went back into the dealership and they instantly give us a loaner without us asking and they tell us they will take care of it! extremely impressed with their customer service and the awesome salesman that helped us! "Absolutely horrible. I purchased a vehicle in March that they had kept within the dealership for the last 6 years. They claimed it was in impeccable shape. I was going to buy the vehicle cash but the finance manager claimed it was not up for a cash sale as he was trying to secure a contract with a special credit financing place. They refused to provide any maintenance records prior to the sale. Against my better judgement and the belief that people are naturally good people, I bought the vehicle through the special credit financing place to help them secure their contract. They did agree to replace the timing belt and water pump as part of the sale. I also inquired about a noise the car made when started. They said it was probably just the serpentine belt but would be taken care of during the timing belt and water pump maintenance. A day following the purchase the check engine light came on, I notified them and they agreed to take care of it when the timing belt and water pump was serviced. The vehicle went in for the work to be done a few days later. Longer story shorter, they had the vehicle for a week and the roof was damaged while in their care. They denied responsibility of the damage. But, when I was there to pick the vehicle back up it clearly had just been sanded down as there was a fine layer of dust over the entire roof, which was also observed as "odd" ny the finance manager who assisted me outside. I'm assuming they tried to conceal whatever they did. I then took the vehicle in for a third party inspection due to their lack of professionalism and callousness. The vehicle failed inspection for a rotted rear subframe, tires and brakes despite them placing an inspection sticker on it as of 02/2018. The third party inspection also found low oil and coolant levels which I made clear that I was concerned about as they supposedly had just done the timing belt and water pump. They finally agreed to make the repairs and investigate the low fluid levels, only after the failed inspection, many emails back and forth between the sales manager, the finance manager, the service manager, the general manager and myself. After about 4 weeks of them having my vehicle to repair all of the issues, I was told it was ready but they will not make any additional repairs unless it's "covered under warranty". The following day I noticed fluid underneath the vehicle, it was coolant. I thought maybe it was just overflow from them topping it off. But that wasn't the case, the radiator is now in need of being replaced... and not covered under warranty despite it either 1) needing repair at the time of sale or 2) done purposefully by their own hands. Not only do they sell unsafe vehicles but their mechanics are clearly incompetent. I wish I could give them 0 stars but I suppose they deserve 1 for a "complimentary" tank of gas." read more

I have never had anything but great experiences here. We were looking for something fuel efficient and still fun to drive, and comfortable. The Jetta TDI met our criteria. We told the salesman exactly what we wanted - color, trim level and manual transmission. They found one. No muss, no fuss, no overselling no annoying telephone calls. That was almost 3 years ago. I have had all my service done there. They are good about scheduling and keeping promises. They answer questions and on a couple of occasions have helped me on short notice. I went here to get my old VW checked out because it was slipping when going into first gear. I wanted to see if it was something minor that I could get fixed before selling the car as I was moving across the country and planing to buy a new car when I got there. This was the only place in the area that would look at a VW transmission as they are a sealed transmission. When I took it in I explained that I intended to sell the car and didn't want them to spend over an hour diagnosing the problem as their diagnostics were $92/hr. They called me later that day and explained that two gaskets needed to be repaired on it and had caused the transmission oil to leak out and it was at very low levels and that this is what they believed was causing it to slip going into first gear but they couldn't guarantee that this would fix it as they didn't know if there was damage done to the transmission. When I went to pick it off the lot (I didn't want to put $900 into a car I was going to sell) the mechanic that worked on my car said that he was surprised I wasn't getting the work done and strongly recommended me putting the work into the car and after I told them I wasn't sure he also said that I shouldn't drive it off the lot as he would be surprised if it made it a mile. I eventually went back and picked up my car along with the diagnostics from the dealership and drove it TO THE TOWN OVER with no problems. I listed the car and had someone look at it and gave them the information that the dealership gave me along with the contact information for the mechanic that worked on my car so he could ask him any questions I couldn't fully answer. A couple hours later I got a call back from the interested buyer saying the mechanic had told him the leaking transmission fuel most likely WOULDN'T cause the problem my car was experiencing and that the transmission was most likely damaged and said that they didn't want to scare me because I was a young women. I have never been so offended in my life. The icing on the cake was when I picked up the car I was discussing new cars I wanted to buy and a staff member made a comment about how if I couldn't afford to put $900 into my car how could I afford a new one. Not only was the whole experience unprofessional but they operated in an unethical and sexist manner. I would never recommend my worst enemies to go here for service. I can confidently say I will never buy another volkswagon. read more
