All I wanted was a good burger, and this place did not disappoint. Wandered in during restaurant week and jumped on the 3 course menu, choosing mussels, the Goody Boy Burger and peach cobbler. Washed it all down with 3 Floyds Zombiedust. All the food was excellent! Mussels came with plenty of broth and Texas toast to mop it up with. The burger was exactly what I wanted. Cheesy, greasy, delicious. Came with a side of fries I wasn't expecting. And good thing, as they weren't that good. Thinly sliced, which is my go to, but undercooked. The peach cobbler came with a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream that made me want to make love to the dish. Daughter ordered the fried pickles (delicious) and blackened chicken linguine. The dish was excellent, with just the right amount of heat that made me happy, but she thought was over the top. The Biegnets were good, but more like big hushpuppies with a couple of dipping sauces. Service was fast and friendly. Ambiance was classic 50s, really neat. Only negative, outside of the fries, were the flies. We had a couple join us for dinner that really weren't welcomed. Regardless, great place with a full bar, including Blantons!

Got a delivery of sausage gravy and biscuits with eggs and more biscuit than gravy!!! so sad, and I had to refry my potatoes. Never again!!!!

Goody Boy Vibes~ and it is better than ever! I love the newly renovated space! The burgers were very flavorful~ The cocktails were so fun and tasty~ and don't forget about those huge fresh crispy waffle fries! To keep you coming back, the chef likes to play around with his big collection of seasoning to create their weekly specials!

I really enjoyed my time at Goody Boy in Short North. There are just a few parking spaces on the property but if you get there at the right time you can find parking on the street close to the restaurant. There are plenty of places to sit both inside of the restaurant and outside. GB has an indoor/outdoor bar area to sit. Outside, there is a little bar area, tables, and covered cabanas. This place is very dog friendly! Our server, Anthony, was sweet enough to bring our pup out some water in a to-go container so that he was completely comfortable. He gets a little nervous in public so we found a seat underneath one of the private little cabanas. That was really helpful for our anxious pup. He was able to calm down and relax and we all enjoyed our time there. We started off with drinks and apps. The drinks were on point! We ordered the Pear Necessity made with Sauza Blanco, fresh lime juice, orange Curacao, and prickly pear puree. It was refreshing and delicious. The Goodie Bags are cute. The drinks come in a plastic bag with a straw punctured through it like a Capri Sun but these fruity drink pouches are NOT for kids! These pouched drinks have a double shot of liquor with either strawberry lemonade with vodka base or a tropical punch with rum base. Refreshing! We also ordered some Mojitos with its fresh muddled mint, Captain Morgan White, and fresh lime juice. You can add strawberry or mango puree for another dollar. Again, refreshing! The winner for me that day was the Yuzu Collins made with fresh lemon juice, and soda water, Kettle One Botanical peach and orange blossom. Ahhhhhh (head tilted back, eyes closed) For apps, we ordered the buffalo chicken wings with blue cheese dressing, celery, and carrots and an order of waffle fries. Yummy! For the entree, I ordered the Portobello quinoa salad with mixed greens, organic herb quinoa, hummus, roasted red peppers, red onions, avocados, and balsamic dressing. I added salmon for $7. It was amazing! We sat underneath the cabana, drank, ate, talked, and relaxed. It was a good day at Short North Goody Boy!

Came in on a Monday to try it out. It was slow at the restaurant, so we got to see all of the diner, the restroom was warm and clean... Ordered a quesadilla, tomato bisque and grilled cheese and a buffalo wrap (husband/daughter also) and it was all absolutely delicious... I told the guy in charge that I didn't know it was so fancy and he said, "it's not fancy food, it's prepared well"... Perfect! way to explain this food. If you are in Columbus, it is a must stop... It's got cool ambience and very nice personable help.

If you are looking for some quick eats and treats and drinks, Short North Goody Boy has got you. I often walk down High Street and it's bright colorful chairs are very hard to miss! They extended patio with the fire pit which in Ohio is super needed! It's a nice touch. Me and my friends went there to have a discussion about life relationships all while enjoying a nice hazy IPA and some delicious fries and burgers. We chose to sit at the bar and you can choose to be seated as well. But they were playing the hits as we were enjoying our burgers. This place is divey and chill and a lot of people come here after work to take the load off. There's not much parking in this area due to all the insane construction in Short North but if you drive a couple blocks in the residential areas you are able to find a couple open spots. Four stars for awesome bartenders and tasty food!

So I never came before the recent renovation but I loooove what it is now! Total swim up bar meets in-n-out diner vibes. Interior is fun and beautiful and mid century mod. Ordered the spicy margarita less sweet and loved it. The bartender put less agave in there for me and it was perfect. We tried the goody boy burger, chicken sandwich and fries. Everything was delicious. The goody boy burger has a little bit of a sweetness to it almost in the sauce. The chicken sandwich looks like it might be a little dry on the outside but it is fried so perfectly and so tender on the inside. Side of waffle fries were enough to share. They were a bit crunchy / over fried for my liking but my husband loved them. Just preference I guess. Cute patio. You order everything at the bar and can eat it wherever. Very relaxed summer spot... lots of college students! Perfect if you want to get drunk and then have the option to eat some burgers / sandwiches right there.

Great place for brunch in the short north! Their menu has everything you could want for brunch and the vibes are so fun. We went when it was warmer out and sat outside. The inside has insanely cute retro vibes. And the atmosphere is so casual. Our waitress was extremely friendly and personable. I would love to go back there on a weekend night to drink and hang out with friends. It seems like it would be so fun. The food was extremely good, it came out fast and hot. It wasn't super busy for a weekend brunch and I was actually surprised. For the vibes and the food it should have been popping! 10/10 recommend

We settled on Goody Boy for lunch since the couple we went with had a doggo that they brought along and there is a large outdoor seating area. Luckily, we had no trouble finding a table on the patio. They have some good drink specials, and the menu had a decent array of options. We started off with a sharable half order of the waffle fry nachos, but they were out of waffle fries, so we had to sub them for curly fries -- no big deal, sometimes places run out of things so that's understandable. When they were brought out, everyones eyes at our table got big as we soon realized they actually brought out the regular size and not the half order we requested. We thought no big deal, until the checks came and they charged us for the full order. I ordered the goody boy burger, my significant other got the chicken and waffle bites, and the couple we were with ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and club sandwich. My good boy burger was your typical greasy burger from a place like Steak n' Shake or Johnny Rockets, and the portion of shoestring fries was plentiful. Everyone seemed to have the same opinion on the food -- good, but nothing special. Now on to the disappointing part of the meal -- the service. First off, when the plate of shareable nacho fries was brought out, we were not given small appetizer plates to divvy it up, thus forcing us to use our second hand as sort of a "in case something drops" protector as we shoveled fries into our mouths. Also, each outdoor table has a basket that holds napkins, pre-wrapped plastic silverware, ketchup and mustard. Except ours had no silverware and only one napkin. Neither the waitress or the person who brought out our food seemed to notice, nor did they ask if we needed any silverware. So we had to snag some from a different table. When we finished the meal, our server walked past our table so many times without checking in that we ultimately had to flag her down to ask for to-go boxes and checks. There were also a few other off-putting things that happened that aren't even worth writing about. The hungover college kids running this place were clearly just trying to make it through their Sunday shift.

The Short North Goody Boy is real goody . I found myself in the neighborhood during The eat614 Burger and Beer week. I've driven by many times and wanted to stop, and I'm mad I haven't stopped before. The ambiance is a bit nostalgic. A once ice cream counter is now a bar. It's divided into two sections, high tops, low tables and booths. There is a spacious seating area outside with the metal lawn chairs from the 80's that never fall apart. On this particular day, there seemed to be two servers. There was a steady flow of people, but we were never neglected. Our server was very friendly. Being Burger week, we both tried the Goody Boy burger. I'm not a fan of cheese but this cheeseburger was good. Two patties that hung over both sides of that lightly toasted brioche bun. The bbq sauce is really good as well. Actually, it's the best burger I've had in awhile. Goody job. I'll be back.

Went to short north goody boy for happy hour at 4pm! Happy hour today was from 3-6pm. These shareables were HALF OFF! Such a deal! The Mac and cheese was so cheesy and only $3.50 on happy hour. It was so filling, too. The large waffle fries were split between a friend and I, and only $6! They had the best cheese, with jalapeños and some tomatoes. Overall, the price was amazing and the food tasted great and filled us up. Would go again any day.

Came here for brunch on a Sunday. We were going to go to a couple of other places, but their kitchens were closed and we needed to sit outside since a friend brought their pup. We sat outside and were greeted by our waitress fairly quickly. Their menu had a lot of options, which was nice. We started off with the waffle fry nachos, but unfortunately they were out of waffle fries, so we were asked if curly fries were an ok substitute. This was completely fine and I actually prefer curly over waffle. We did order the half order, but our waitress brought out the full order. This was a little annoying, but we said it was fine and just kept it. They were really good and had all the right topping and a good ratio of them. I ordered the chicken & waffle bites which came with a side of syrup and Tabasco aioli. The little waffle bites were good and cripsy on the outside while still being fluffy on the inside. The chicken was honestly just kind of gross (lots of weird textures and honestly only ate 2 and threw away the rest). I feel like Tyson chicken nuggets would have even tasted better. Definitely would not order this again. Of note, we were never given silverware or napkins the entire time we were dining and had to go grab some from other tables. I'd maybe come back for a drink or something, but probably not order food here again.

Not a bad place at all. We were seeing a concert and decided to try this place. My wife got the waffle and chicken bites and I got the classic breakfast. Pretty decent. Only down side was getting the check to leave. We'll definitely be back.

We went here for pizza and beer week because they were one of the restaurants in there. The pizza was great! Although one of the people I was with got the burger and that was awesome!! I came here with a couple of friends and we got 2 dishes of Mac and cheese, 3 dishes of grilled cheese, and 1 dish of cheese fries. All of these dishes were $2 each(they have some sort of deal on Tuesdays where these items are $2) so it ended up being a pretty good deal. The food was pretty good although the grilled cheese was kind of dry. I liked the atmosphere of the place, they apparently have karaoke nights on Tuesdays too. I would probably come here again but only on Tuesdays or when they have a deal. I like the idea of a diner-style restaurant, but I don't think I would've spent the normal price on their entrees when I could go to a fast-food restaurant and get similar items(although less fancy, I'm sure) for a cheaper price. read more

Got the Portobello Quinoa Salad which's SUPERB! Server (girl wearing glasses....sorry didn't get her name, I think it's Anna), was also pleasant. I could give 5 stars for those two, but only 2 stars, due to the diner lost its "personality" from the original one. This was just another Corso restaurants collection, with the cookie cutter atmosphere. Boring and meh. And EXTREMELY LOUD!!!! Background music was maxed and the obnoxious noon-bar goers were competing in volume. This was louder than the busiest airport, due to it has zero voice reducer (curtains, etc), but walls and mirrors. I spoke with one of the bartender, he confirmed the constant loud noise. My anxiety was triggered by it and definitely won't come back. Oh.... one last thing: a diner MUST HAVE breakfast options, and there's only 1 here. Very disappointed. read more

I never knew I could spend so much time and have that much fun on a diner patio! That patio sits right out front is spacious with a nice view of high street. For drinks I ordered the pear necessities ($9) and a strawberry lemonade drink pouch ($10), we also ordered 6 lemon shots for the table (6 for $5). All the drinks tasted great but I was left disappointed with the lemon shots. While they tasted great, the ones we got were only half full and it made them look pretty sad. The food was great! I ordered the goody boy burger ($9) with waffle fries ($4) and my friend ordered the Reuben($11) with shoe string fries ($3) which we then traded half's. The goody boy burger wasn't anything special but it was still one of the best diner burgers I've ever had. The Reuben also surprised me with the quality of the corned beef! I though both sets of fries were perfectly crisp and seasoned! The only bad thing I have to say about food is the options, while they have spaghetti on the menu, I don't get how they don't have a classic patty melt?! My friends at the table had been to Goody Boy before the new ownership took over. They all said that they were blown away by how much better it was. I could see myself spending a good amount of evenings drinking on this patio, very impressed! read more

Stopped into Goody Boy for Columbus burger and beer week. I will definitely be back to explore more menu items. The menu has a good selection without being overwhelming, and the prices are reasonable. The most eye catching part of the menu is the happy hour special (M-F 3-6pm), almost everything on the menu is 50% off! The special for burger week was the Goody Boy Burger. The burger was delicious, it's a classic double cheese burger with house made sauces and for mine I added lettuce and onion. The flavor was great, it was perfectly sized and surprisingly not greasy. The burger to bun ratio was ON POINT which is hard to find especially when more than one patty is involved. The shoestring fries were nice and crispy and a perfection addition. My only complaint is that service was on the slower side but maybe it was just the time of the day? Anyways I'm looking forward to coming back to try a few other items read more

So pleased finally checking this place out tonight! I won't lie, I have been coming to the short north for over 10 years and I remember this establishment always being there, but it never seemed appealing to go inside. I honestly thought it was vacant for a long time. Fast forward to now they have some genius marketing and got some highly instagram-able drinks that I have been seeing for a few weeks on my feed and that is why I came in. Genius marketing, amazing food, amazing service and I will be recommending to friends and family. There is some sketchy folks who hangout on that same corner or come inside so I wouldn't recommend coming alone during certain times of day (nobody likes being solicited for money or smelling weed while they are eating). I love the new, renovated Goody Boy! They have a great happy hour and the environment is very fun! I got the adult Capri suns which are great. Out enjoying Sunday and decided to drop in for a late breakfast. So glad we did! Bloody Mary was super spicy (I ordered the spicy)came with a nice piece of bacon. I shared the piece of bacon with my husband because I'm nice like that The all day breakfast was perfect: scrambled eggs super fluffy but not runny, toast was grilled (amazing) and the potatoes were crispy. House salad had nice mixed greens and they asked how my husband liked his salmon...it came out perfect. read more

Last night I came in and ordered a pizza while sitting at the bar. Having been to the old goody boy and loved it, I was hesitant to go considering the changes that had been made. I was pleasantly surprised with the fast service I received and quality of the food. The bar tender I had was a brunette Greek girl that was very friendly and made exceptional drinks. Goody Boy is the new Short North hot spot that brings a new diner vibe! The place has a modern diner décor that fits extremely well. The ambience is very laid back and has an awesome menu. The Goody Boy burger is delicious and a must try! The wings are big and the sauces are delicious. Get the blue cheese dressing too. It is homemade and has huge chunks of blue cheese. The menu is reasonably priced and the drink specials are amazing. Also, the craft beer list has many unique offerings. Finally, Goody Boy has a huge patio with views of high street! read more

went here for brunch. when we do brunch- we do brunch ya know? We ordered a bottle champagne which is suppose to come with donut holes and three flavors of juice. we got one flavor of juice and donut holes 30 minutes later. the champagne was only 5% ABV, that's a no from us. donut holes were obviously frozen and microwaved. We got a veggie pizza and breakfast wrap- normal level of delicious. we also got two lemon jell-o shots, there was a hair in one of them. service was slow but it was a saturday at peak brunch time and they got a bunch of tables at once so that's valid. not in a rush to go back vs all of the brunch spots that are in columbus. read more

I wouldn't eat here if it was the last place on earth. Total douche bar, totally lost its nostalgia. Trying way too hard to be cool. I think what was most off putting was the excessive amount of management trolling the entire place and watching workers like It was prison. A huge red headed man, who I believe was management was barking at employees unlike anything I've ever heard, foul mouthed, and very precocious. The employees he was talking to were clearly uncomfortable and I watched them make faces at each other as he walked by. There was then a stalky dark haired woman who snap at every employee and what they did. She was dressed casually but acted incredibly superior. The bar was loaded with older men hitting on all the young girls. There was an incredible amount of banter coming out of the kitchen and the chef was screaming about how much better he is over any other chefs. I don't need that many power trips in one dining experience. Too much. Bad energy. Gross. Feels dirty. Sorry. Decent menu. read more

I went to Goody Boy for the first time this weekend and it was amazing! They revamped everything! The inside has cool, colorful wall paper and some colorful back lighting. The only negative thing I have to say about the decor is the fake tea candles. Not a fan. We went on a Thursday night and were seated right away. They had some cool drinks and our server helped us pick out some good beers. My friend and I tried the Goody Boy Burger and it was by far one of the best burgers I have ever had. All of the flavors were so good together and the burger was so juicy. It was truly the best part of that night! We ended up coming back on Saturday night to show our friends!! On Saturday I tried the goody bag drink and grilled cheese bits that I was eyeing up when I was previously there(what's in the picture). Both did not disappoint!! I will for sure be back and will tell all my friends about the new Goody Boy! read more

Came in on a weekday early evening. Bartender didn't seem very knowledgeable of the menu. I asked what the rotating local craft beers (from said menu) at the moment are or if there was a specific list if he didn't want to read them off to me. He said there was no rotating beers. Very poor customer service and when the server finally came to us she Act like she had an attitude and didn't wanna work or take our order and then when I ordered a drink they are very weak with mixing drinks very little liquor was added for a drink that cost $15, I would say the food is decent but there are way better options on high Street then this location. read more

Tonight was our first time at Goody Boy. Oh my goodness it was awesome!! The strawberry mojitos were phenomenal. We got the Grilled Cheese bites to start, and they were delicious - with a different blend of cheeses, they were an awesome spin on a classic favorite. For our meals, we got the goody boy burger, waffle fries, and Mac n cheese. The Mac n cheese was honestly the BEST I have ever had. Our server Leslie was awesome and so sweet with our 3 year old! I got the salmon and it was a bit dry. The green beans as a side were a bit salty but decent. The atmosphere during the summer feels like a restaurant or bar near a beach. I enjoyed my experience overall even though the meal I ordered was underwhelming. My friend got the fish tacos and LOVED them. So it may have just been what I ordered. What is not to love about this place? The portions are ridiculous! We had fish tacos (some of the best I've had and I live in Phoenix) and the avocados stuffed with quinoa. So much food. First time here and I was not disappointed. The only bad thing I can say is, because of the rain, we weren't able to enjoy the patio. Our server, Anthony, went above and beyond even bringing us free Jell-O shots, because he knew it was our anniversary. Super friendly guy! This place is so fun with the retro decor and menu. Briana was an amazing server who gave good ideas for bundling menu items such as the mimosa and juice box deal. She was so kind and attentive. Service and decorations aside, I will say that I miss the old menu. The menu seems too similar to pint house, food hall, and standard hall (the sister companies). I feel like each corso menu should be unique like Cameron Mitchell and some of the other big names in Columbus do it. read more

Goody Boy is so great now! They were bought out by the same owner as Forno and Standard Hall, and have completely turned it around. They have "adult juice boxes" which are basically jumbo Capri Suns made with vodka. Soooo good! And the waffle fry nachos are to die for. Highly recommend with a group of friends, and definitely sit on the patio if you can. I believe our servers name was Kayla and she completed the experience! So friendly, and even gave us free jello shots when she heard it was our first time there. read more

I delivered an airplane to Ohio and stopped in for the evening in Columbus. Needing a place to find, the Goody boy Diner was recommended. When I arrived, the staff recognized me, helped me order based on what I typically like, from the beer selection to the entree and even the cocktails. At the end of the evening I was leaving to go back to my hotel and the manager gave me a shirt from the Diner that all the staff were wearing. Goody Boy has quickly become my go-to spot for happy hour! My friends and I love starting out here because the deals are great and the food is even better. The buffalo chicken pizza is amazing, but I love trying something new every time I go because it's all so good. My first time here was about a month ago and I've been back every week since. Last week, I had the honor of being served by the charismatic new bartender, Kailyn, at the bar! Despite the busy crowd, she seemed calm and happy to serve each and every waiting customer. Sooooo.....I hadn't been back here since I had a bad experience a couple of years ago!! Let me tell u,total 360!! Everything from the great service to the new decor! I kept it simple(or so I thought) and got a grilled cheese and tomato soup. Holy cheese balls this was good. Four different cheeses on the sandwich and the tomato soup was something to write home about! I can't stop thinking about it! I had the pleasure of dining here on Friday (5/17) and had an amazing experience! Briana was our server and was extremely patient, attentive, and friendly! She was more than accommodating when it came to suggesting alternative suggestions for the low carb lifestyle I am leading! We thoroughly enjoyed the meal. With parking aside, we were stopped in and was greeted as soon as we walked in and then taken to a seat. The bar staff handles all tables and the bar. This place isn't huge and the lobby hold as many people as the seats and the bar. So plan accordingly. The bathroom was clean and the restaurant was clean as well. We ordered drinks. And our burgers and sides. The burger is literally at 3/4 pound burger. I took half home as it is a big burger. The fries were perfectly done fresh cut fries. These are not frozen bag fries. This burger was one of the best I have had. The fries are also very very good. Highly recommend. If you are anywhere near here and want a good burger why are you not here yet.

The bartender, Kaitlyn, was incredibly friendly and hospitable. She gave great suggestions, and was gracious enough to answer all my questions. I ordered the small Greek salad, and Blueberry Pomegranite Hard Cider from Madmoon Craft Cidery. My husband ordered a sausage, mushroom and onion pizza (tidbit: SMO is a classic, favored Milwaukee, WI style pizza). I learned the cider was made a couple blocks away by a local man named Peter (hats off to you Peter for one hell of a good cider!). The olive oil, used in the Greek salad dressing (which is made to order) is imported from Greece. To top it off, the pizza crust is also made to order. The salad and pizza were incredibly delicious, although I'd have liked a little more feta and olives mixed into the salad. The Danube has been around for a long time, and after talking with Kaitlyn and mingling with some of the other patrons, it was clear why this is such a great spot to hang out. One person got the vegetarian fajitas and two others got the vegetarian fajita burritos. The food was so good that my friend said that he wished he had gotten another burrito to go. I got the vegetarian chile rellenos and was far from disappointed. The chile was flavorful and filled with cheese, and came with really well spiced beans and rice on the side. I could tell from our experience that anything that you could choose on their extensive menu would be amazing. They also do brunch and we agreed that we will return to try it soon.
