I recently went in there to get my tires checked. I also needed an oil change and to get my sensor for the tire replaced. When I drive about 40mph there is a slight vibration when I drive. Upon entering Good Year, the staff were very friendly, however the gentlemen who told me over the phone that all 4 of my rims needed to be replaced and that it would cost "$2,000" and once I heard that I was shocked at how high the expense of that was. However this wasn't the problem. After I told him that I wasn't going to spend the money on that and that I was told to get another opinion, the attitude went from friendly to rude pretty fast. And as someone who has been a member of Good Year Tires and is someone as a small business owner who values my small and big spending customers, I was taken aback as to how I was treated. Soo much so that I might take my business back to the Good Year Tires in Catonsville, and or just another tire company all together. We dropped off our vehicle last night at the night drop with keys and instructions for new tires. I receive a call @ 8:30 this morning to ask why my vehicle was there. After explaining that there was a note; the guy says; "oh yeah, I see it now. Your car will be ready at the end of the day". Around 2:00 I start calling to find out the status of my car and they never answer the phone. 6 times! I look on the website and see that they close at 4:00. I never heard from them that the car was completed. Arrive at 3:55 and the car is still not done. The service guy could care less. So sad. read more

They were suppose to a plug the tire and an oil change. As you can see the tire was never plug and was charge for the service and wouldn't bring a car back here never again. If you have a Lyft car and bring it to this location you need to double check that the service was done. Customer service could be better but my major concern is that they charge Lyft for a service that they didn't do, that's considered stealing. read more

I went here for an oil change a year of so ago and the guy at the counter was friendly and helpful and it was a very smooth experience. I thought -- I found a place to take my car to. The next time I came in, there was an arrogant guy at the front desk, condescending, acting as if he was too good to be bothered with customers. I hoped it was a fluke, and went back again. The next time, the girl at the counter was actively rude. She ignored me for a while, and then when I tried to ask her a question, she yelled at me in a nasty voice "can't you see that I'm on the phone!!!" Well, no, the receiver was in place, and she was turned away from the phone, so I could not tell she had someone on hold. By the way, Michelle, a civil way to speak to someone, is "one moment please, I have a call on hold". Or really anything beside yelling rudely would be ok. Or, how about looking up and greeting a customer standing there instead of ignoring? Like maybe, "Hi, I'll be right with you." It's not hard to act human if you try. It's called customer service, which I realized no one here has except the one guy, two years ago, who was probably a temp or fill-in, and I have never seen since. The last and final time I was there was nothing but a tribute to incompetence and poor management as far as my car was concerned, which entailed something simple as putting on a tire. This place has gone to the dogs (which is really an insult to dogs). Bad attitude, incompetence, contempt for customers. I also saw customers walk out without making their intended purchase, because of inflated prices. Such as a car battery for almost $400 being the lowest price battery. read more

Wouldn't be my first choice of car maintenance. Brought my vehicle in to get a oil change and brakes done. Didn't think it would be a all day process so can in at 10 am and did the wait service. After a new hours of waiting they came back and said one of my tires had a low tread. Of course they recommend getting off of them replaced. They didn't have any affordable options so I ended up getting a more expensive option. The completed the oil change and tired but they weren't able to get the bakes done so I would have had to leave it until the following day or make an appointment for another day. The second visit went better. I dropped my vehicle off around 9 and they promised to have it ready by 1 pm. Surprisingly they called around 12 and said it was done. After paying as I was driving away I noticed my caution light for my TPS sensors was on. When I arrived home I checked my receipt and it showed that they replaced all 4 of my sensors. So I called and made a third appointment. On the third visit I did the wit service again. Arrived around 10 am and was done by 12. They didn't charge me any additional for this visit. Over all average service. It was frustrating to have to come three times for simple services to be completed. In checking my he receipts they charge a premium for parts and don't give you the option for cheaper after market parts. For my 10 year old vehicle I am not concerned with having premium parts. Undecided on if I would return or not. read more

I had to get new tires when my old ones needed air every few days. The team was quick and efficient.

I went there twice and both times they were fast, friendly and efficient! The first time. I got 4 new tires and had them mounted, and the second time, was with I found a nail in my tire. It was very convenient , that I got to schedule and pay for my service online, then dropped off my keys. My tires were mounted within a couple of hours. I walked in on a Sunday to have that nail in my tire fixed, and even though they looked really busy, they took care of me right away. These guys are hardworking, kind and honest and we will be going back to them for future tire needs for our cars. read more

My gosh, please do not go to this Goodyear location. I literally was standing at the counter for more than 30 minutes trying to get checked in. All I wanted was two tires. He sat there looking at the computer, pushing an occasional button clearly getting nothing done. There were about six people in the waiting room at the time, and during that half hour, none of them left, none of their work was completed, and no one asked him a question or checked on them. Life savers Every single air compressor is broken in a 10 mile radius, I swear. I took a chance and asked if they could help put a little air in the tires and they did! All of the cart ports were full, but Guillermo came out with his hose, pumped the tires with a positive attitude. We really appreciate it. You guys were clearly busy and that really helped our day. I went here only because of an emergency, and I realize I did not have an appointment. I also realize that they told me up front that it was going to be a two hour minimum wait. Check. Got it. Understood. Everything seemed to happen in slow motion; no real sense of urgency or hustle, employees kind of going through their paces with a bland lack of intensity. "Two hours" turned into a little over three hours. That's a long time to wait for simply taking a flat tire off a rim, putting a new tire on the rim, and reinstalling on the car. Oh, and putting the spare tire back in the trunk (which wasn't done correctly; read on). I also now have to go to the dealer to get the low tire pressure monitoring light turned off. It's flashing annoyingly on the instrument panel since use of the spare tire. So now I have the joy of scheduling an appointment at the dealer and waiting a few more hours to get that dealt with. I wish they would let people know that! Icing on the cake is that they simply tossed the spare in the trunk. They didn't take the 3 minutes to fasten the spare down and put the jack on top of it all nestled in as it was before. The lack of pride of doing the job completely just doesn't look good from a consumer standpoint. Final observation, it seems that the goal of the desk staff is simply to make the customers feel "calm". They speak in intentional low, quiet tones with simplified terms that border on patronizing. Again, I recognize that I was in a bind and did not have an appointment. It just seemed to take SO LONG to get a basic thing done. read more

Also had problems in the past with the same store on work that wasn't done right as well as problems where they said they did the alignment and then when I asked for the paperwork, they admitted that they did not do the alignment and ran out of time. read more

Made an appointment for my boyfriends truck and dropped it off at 7am. Came back for it at 5pm and it still wasnt done. They told him that they had other customers come in and that they couldn't finish the work until he came back to pick up the truck. He spent another hour at the shop waiting for it to be finished. Either bad mechanic or rip off, ellicott city store Got new tires all cool Then front end alignment they could not do since they could not adjust tie rods, too tight or rusted. Tried to break free for 1 1/2 days, then suggest $600 new parts. I took home and with 63 yr old brother broke it all free and took to Mr. Tire the next day for front end alignment. No parts needed and we have only homeowner level of tools with floor jacks. Either mechanic was incompetent or rip off. One side they had not even tried to unscrew, never touched it. They stoled my rim lug nut key... I took my Audi A5 for an oil change and free wheel rotations twice to this location. First time they didn't mention any issues but second time they said I was missing my lug nuts key and they couldn't rotate my tires. Now that key was last used by them or at least should've been. I asked them to pull my car record to see how they did it last time, their record showed no tire rotation been done. I informed the manager about the situation and she was nice enough to refund my money. If your rims have locks, make sure you check for the key when you get your car back. read more

I actually left a pretty positive review on Google local years ago when I first moved to HoCo. This location was pretty honest (the gentleman who helped me was still here), and gave me the warranty free re-alignment, although I clearly did not know there was a warranty plus the initial service was done in another Goodyear location. Been there on and off for some misc stuff, such as oil change, coolant flush etc, no complaints. Two weeks ago, I went to this location again for a tire slow leak. I did not have a tire pressure gauge when it first triggered my TPMS warning, but from trip to airing them up I felt that Left front was the leaking one as it required more pumps than the rest three. Warning showed up again after the refill in about three weeks, so I went to this location. My tires were goodyear brand and purchased new at a DE location three years ago and less than 40k miles on them, I went to Goodyear thinking it might have some sort of warranty. Went there without an appt around 830am, and two hours later they started to move my car and tested maybe for less than 30min and told me that my RF was leaking and they found a nail, they did not see anything on the left. They also told me that the RF hole was too close to the side wall for a patch, but off the record, the tech told me it should be pluggable. They let me go with a tpms warning on (forgot to air them up), so I quickly drove to a garage 0.5 mile away and used their gauge and air pump. I found out that the LF was only 25 psi, and all the rest were around 33psi (even the RF which they claimed with a nail on it). I aired them all up to around 37psi and the TPMS warning was gone. I drove back immediately asking for explanation on the mysterious low pressure on the LF. The tech gave me full BS about temperature change and etc, and shrugged at me saying they did everything they could but found nothing. After another couple of weeks of monitoring and trips to other places, it turned out that RF indeed had a nail but the hole was so small so it wasn't leaking so bad, and it was indeed pluggable (appreciate them being honest about that). LF indeed had a bead leak, and they could've found it simply by using a water tub to submerge the tire (they had the tank, but did not bother using it. Soapy water test on LF did not find anything, and they just shrugged at me twice as if I was looking for trouble myself, and I should've lived with it. When I called again a couples of days ago, telling the same tech that I was sure about LF's slow leak with monitoring the pressure, and asked them to test it again with water tub, his tone was the same, doubting that they would be able to see anything and as if I was looking for trouble and should've lived with it. Tried to get tire rotation and oil change. Went back when car wobbled. Caused by Sears stacking weights on the aftermarket wheels on my car - hitting parts of steering knuckle. I paid for balance of four wheels but they cheesed out, rebalanced the one they saw and then put both front wheels on the back. This undid the original intent of having the rotation done in the first place. Poor training. It took four trips and still not fixed as of this writing? The senior tech there was not watching the lesser guys very close. He was probably the only one there that could be considered a "mechanic" for the shop. Stay away. read more

I took the time to call with a Merchants Quote which was over $109.00 less than the quote I received from this goodyear location on the EXACT same tires Goodyear Assurance Max Fuel so I was comparing apples to apples and being honest about my request for a price. I asked about the price match guarantee against a the Merchants Price which was $109.00 less than theirs, I was then told that the merchants price did not include installation. Well, I had the pricing information sitting right in front of me. All totals came out with shop supplies, removal and installation etc etc.to $508.19 including a merchants promotion of 100.00 off a set of 4 tires. The man on the phone at the goodyear store the night of April 6th 2017 was not very receptive to matching the price OR even explaining the price match guarantee when asked repeatedly how the price match guarantee worked. He was reasonably polite however I felt like I was buying a car from used car a dealer with a plaid jacket rather than a set of tires. He actually said to me that my quote was not the actual total when I had it right on paper in front of me from Merchants. This is typically the point where a person hangs up a phone and says forget it! However, I wanted to give him the chance at the business and goodyear was offering a rebate through the store purchase for a set of 4 tires. That's the only reason I was tolerating these antics. Well, needless to say, I never did get a straight answer and was purposefully put on hold, had to call back and finally let him know that he lost my business. He then called me back and I had to ask him not to call me anymore as I would consider it harassment. I have to say... It was BY FAR, the worst experience I have had trying to get a very simple and straight answer from someone after being honest with them on the prices I was quoted by reputable companies, not side-shops. MY RECOMMENDATION; STEER-CLEAR OF THE GOODYEAR SHOP IN ELLICOTT CITY MARYLAND. Save the frustration for when you buy a USED car at a dealership. That was the extent of it. Shop around for your tires, prices vary significantly. Its sad they are not even close to each-other in price and we need to do that as customers. This place is so amazing! Larry is always helpful and really does go above and beyond. I have never waited more than an hour for anything from this location. These guys are quick and honest! I had come back because one of my tires had a nail and they gave me a discount on a new tire and added the package for all four tires. This is great because I always get nails in my tires so I felt safe that I wouldn't have to keep spending 100 bucks on a new tie every few months. I went to them for an oil change and unlike jiffy lube who is always trying to sell you more stuff and lying about stuff that need to be replaced they tell you the truth. I thought maybe I needed my engine filter replaced so I asked them and they took it out again and showed me and said I would have up until the next oil change. These guys charge retail for new tires, but they have nice stock. I figured I would get a cheap oil change too while they put on the tires. Problem is, their grease monkeys overtightened my oil filter housing and now it's stuck. Plastic housings are inhetently bad, but any mrchanic with an ounce of experience knows not to tighten them with force. I had changed my own oil 8 times prior to this, so I know it was them. Guy at the desk told me to bring it in on my next change (I had already emptied my oil before realizing the problem) and they would try and figure it out then. I guess that's all he could do, but darn. He was a bit testy about the whole thing, which annoyed me since I'm sure of how it happened. I won't be going back to these guys. I'd rather give my money to someone with a sense of pride in their work. Live and learn. read more

I had new tires put on at this location a few days ago and was not happy with the service. When I dropped my car off, I was told it would be ready by 5pm that day. I received a call at 3pm that afternoon saying that they were running behind and still had to check the alignment and that they would give me a call when it was ready to be picked up. By 5pm, I had not received a call saying my car was ready, so I called them and was told it would not be ready until 6:30pm, an hour and a half later than promised. I still hadn't heard from them at 6:30pm, so I again called and asked when my car would be ready. They said they were almost done and call back when it was ready to be picked up. They finally called to say my car was ready around 7pm at which point I was unable to pick it up that night due to a family event. When I told them I would pick up the car the next morning, I was asked to pay for the tires and installation over the phone before picking up the car! To top it all off, when I picked the car up the next morning I discovered a sizable scratch on the front passenger hubcap which was not there before taking it to Goodyear. I would not recommend going here for service. read more

Went here for an oil change. I usually take my car to the dealer and they always do a complimentary inspection and give me the results of their findings (most places do this)--and they wash my car, more often that not--all for $50 bucks. Wanted to save a few bucks. I'd seen a coupon for oil change at this Goodyear location. When I walked in I was given an estimate of $70 but figure once the coupon is factored in I'd end up paying, max $45. I'd forgotten to present the coupon at write-up but was later told that I could present it at time of payment. At the time of payment, I presented the coupon and the guy tells me he has already applied it. I ask to confirm that he has applied it and he still confirmed that he already had--yet the total amount was still $70. What?? So, I guess without presenting the coupon initially I was automatically given a discount? or the coupon is just worthless because that's what they charge anyway. If they did apply the coupon discount, then I was charged for the highest quality oil change, which I was not even asked if that's what I wanted. I don't think he applied the coupon and it was clear from his shameless response that I was not going to gain anything but a headache. All I know is that I will never go to any Goodyear for any type of service again. How much are their oil changes without a coupon? $90? Additionally, the discount coupon for the highest quality oil change includes a free 4 tire rotation service. Nowhere on the invoice does it indicate that was done. I drive a very nice car but it's not a Bentley. $70 for an oil change is outrageous. Ditto to Jeremy's closing statement "Live and learn." read more
