    Service bay...truck in the way of my car being seen

    Came here for an oil change. Was the first one at the bay and was greeted by a pleasant gentleman, who opened my door for me to exit and proceeded to drive it into the bay for my service. I waited outside, since it was a nice cool morning. There was a bench to sit on as well. The interior, as with all locations, is small, but I was ready with my mask to enter when my vehicle was ready or if the weather took a nasty turn. Gentleman came to check in with me and I told him I just wanted a basic oil change, nothing more, nothing less. They will try to upsell you with a plethora of additional services that they offer. Am I mad at that? No, it's the business. Hey, I know everything about my vehicle and if I require those additional services, I'll make sure I get them. I had a coupon (who doesn't get those in the mail after a prior service?) and even after that, let me just say, the price of a basic oil change has gotten really expensive ($50 with the coupon). What happened to the $19.99 specials? All in all, a great location with great staff that I would visit again.

    This location destroyed the master cylinder of my car, and refused to take ownership of the $500+ worth of damages to my vehicle. On February 9th I went in for an oil change, then on February 24th the master cylinder of my car went out causing the brakes of the vehicle to be no longer responsive. Putting my life and countless others at risk. Prior to February 9th the brakes on my vehicle were completely fine. This was because the jiffy lube location mixed incorrect fluids in my vehicle. When I brought my car to a different mechanic he showed evidence of a different mix of liquids in the blake fluids. (Which you can clearly see different fluids in the attached photo) I filed a customer complaint and today I spoke with Nick from the catonsville jiffy lube 667-231-9648. who refused to do anything about it. He said lines such as "we would never make a mistake like this." Followed by "I have gotten dozens of complaints like this" then continue to say "I know we don't hire the brightest guys." He kept shutting me down and refusing that his location would ever do anything wrong. They have still done nothing about this. Do not go to this jiffy lube location.

    I brought this new car to me that I had recently acquired for the second time for an oil change and a tire rotation. The first time was for TPMS wheel installation (I wish I had paid more attention when that was done). Right after this was done I drove home and took a look at the engine bay and the tires just to make sure which wheel was where and about the overall work, just to find that the underside of the car was all bent from improperly lifting the car. I immediately drove back to the place, where I was told the following morning the manager was going to contact me. Such manager indeed contacted me to ask me that I bring my car back to the shop so they could rest and see if the lift they used did the damage, I immediately brought the car over to the place. Once here I found a so called owner who from the very beginning was very unapologetic and very rude and dismissive, and even racist given the fact that I am of Latino origin and English is not my native language. I was always very cordial and respectful since I just wanted to have a just treatment given the damage to my car. They did not want to try to lift the car completely but by just placing the car in their bay you can clearly see that the damaged places line up exactly with the lift they use. Even after all that the owner just denied any responsibility and told me that he was done with me. While this is happening, I guess as a way to intimidate me, several if not all of the workers there just lined up behind the owner and tried to bully me out of there. The manager told me to get out of the way because he was going to move my car out and told me to get out of there. I'm a short, 160lb Latino guy, so feeling threatened by at least 6 people surrounding me I had no choice but to leave. I would not be saying this if I were not certain this happened here, I love my car and I take great care of it. It is amazing what they can get away with.

    The engine air filter didn't fit my vehicle, but was still installed, and the the air intake box wasn't closed properly.

However, eventually I complained enough that they "unretired" a general manager who seemed the only one to understand how to address warranty issues and they agreed to repair my vehicle. It took a year to get the warranty honored and to be heard. Let that sink in- a year. And they had to "unretire" a person to get customer service to happen. Crazy. So I scheduled almost a month in advance. It still took them three days with minimal communication and maybe I'm just bitter but I am very surprised the unretired general manager (Mr. Kenny, if you're wondering who it is) never contact me again to see why I was frustrated about the length of time it was taking. Or to see if the problem was finally resolved. Or to see if I'd change my reviews. So, I am happy to report they honored the warranty but I would never recommend these guys unless you're desperate. If you're a woman, I would recommend you drive away as fast as your car can go.

Unfortunately, that has been my experience more times than I'd like to admit. The first shop I called gave me a bad feeling right away based on their customer service, but I still made an appointment. Afterward, I checked their Yelp reviews and was shocked by how many negative ones they had. That didn't sit right with me, so I decided to get a second quote. I already had a good idea of what was wrong with my car based on past experience. When I called this shop, the difference was immediate. They were professional, respectful, and didn't argue with me or try to upsell me on unnecessary repairs. I specifically looked for negative reviews--and there were none. I dropped my car off early that morning, and they gave me a clear time estimate for when it would be ready. They even sent photos of the issue. While I didn't fully understand what I was looking at, the fact that they were transparent enough to share images--knowing I could easily research them--told me everything I needed to know about their honesty. I don't remember the technician's name, but they took great care of my foreign car, Lexi, and I'm beyond relieved not to be driving around with grinding rotors anymore. I truly appreciate their professionalism and the way they treated me as a customer. Every single mother needs a mechanic she can feel safe with--and I'm so grateful I found one. Siwan ensured to explain every step and why certain things were required/recommended. Additionally, he ensured to show me how the cost was calculated (we all know car repairs can be pricey but he also makes sure that you know where your money is going!) I even received videos explaining the work being done on my car as it was done. Finally, the waiting area was very well-designed and comfortable. These added details were the cherry on top of an already amazing experience! Honestly one of the best experiences I have had. I will definitely be taking my car back when additional services are needed!
