When they did work some suspension work on my car more specifically and Allingment it was in such bad condition to the point of it pulling and almost caused an accident on the highway on my way to work. It was very scary to say the least. They asked me why I did not bring the car back to them and I said, " Why would I bring it back to you when the awful job you did caused my car to jerk and pull violently to the left and to the right so bringing it back to someone that did a poor job was out of the question so I went to Tire Barn and they told me that Hubcap Express LLC should not of even touched the car due to it needing new ball joints, control arms and new breaks as well as barinings in the suspension of my car. Tire Barn also told me it was going to be a hefty 5 thousand dollars. The car isn't even worth that kind of money. Hubcap Express LLC refused to refund my money for the poor alignment they did and on top of that refused to even acknowledge their fault in the matter. So much so that they refuse to negotiate with the mediator of the Attorney General's office making it look like I was wrong for bring it up to this level of a Customer Complaint do to Ellen refusing to let me spaeak with her Manager or file a formal customer complaint. I reached out to Mr. Tom Scherer through an unconventional way but none the less informing them Hubcap Express LLC that what they did was wrong and calling me names making fun of my Disabilities as a Brain Injury survivor by calling me ,"Special" in a derogatory way quoting their response to the Attorney General. I had gotten tires from McMahon's tires on 9/10/21. They offer free rotation as a "loss leader" to…read moreentice you to buy tires. And I would take the vehicle (2016 GMC Acadia Denali) every 8K miles. I got the tires rotated on 9/24/24 and the salesman Jackson Boyce informed me that the lug nut GMC used were cheaper/shorter lug nuts with a tall crimp on beauty cap. He said that the caps on these nuts had leaked and swollen with corrosion and needed to be replaced. I am a engineer and it made sense so I had them replace all of them. It cost $125 to change out all cheaper capped lugs for 20 solid lugs. I had the tires rotated on 6/24/25 and the Madeline Miller informed me that one of the batteries in the pressure sensors had failed, and the other batteries were close to failing, So once again I agreed that it was better to change all of the TPMS sensors out when the rotated the tires. On 9/16/25, I changed out the front brakes and noticed two things. The lugs were torqued to 200+ Foot pounds. The max for most lugs is 120. It took a T bar wrench and a 4ft piece of pipe to get the lugs off. I also noticed that the front lugs had anti-seize compound compound inside the lugs. I use anti-seize compound on lugs whenever I change brakes, and I did so the last time I changed the front brakes. You can tell because when you apply anti-seize inside the lugs, any extra deposits as a white ring where the stud stops inside. And that was what I saw. I pulled a lug from the back wheels and sure enough, there was the usually ring of anti-seize compound I put there the last time I changed rear brakes. Problem: If McMahon changed the all the lug nuts a year earlier...why was there anti-seize compound in all the lug nuts. Brad Neal said McMahon didn't use seize compound. Either the new lug nuts scrapped the compound off the studs and made the ring in all of the lugs. The problem is...I checked, this doesn't happen. I tested one lug I cleaned and there was no ring. This would indicate that they never changed my lugs to begin with. Also, from the pictures show that the lugs were incredibly stained and had marks that indicated they had been taken off multiple times. Brad Neal showed me the lugs they use. Behind the counter there were at least 4 big bins with what I roughly calculated contained 500 lug nuts when full. Why do they need this many lugs? How often do they have to changed out lugs for the same reasons they explained for my vehicle? They charged me $6 a lug which they probably cost them less that $1 each. Which means I was looking at least $4000 in potential profit for replacing perfectly good capped nuts...or even just replacing the lugs anyway for no reason. I started looking at the bins and examining the various new lugs. Well, they were solid, but they were also cheap nickle coated lugs - that might actually stain after a year like Brad suggested. I usually walk softly and carry a big stick. I have a background in engineering and material science and chemistry. I have 31 US patents and retired at 45. Brad finally figured some of this out from the comments I made before, and when I examined the lugs they use, he then became very nervous and said I would have to get back from behind the counter because customers are not allowed there - yet he was the one who invited me back to see the lugs he was holding. When we returned to his station he looked at all the past service dates and indicated that it was over a year that the lugs were changed and he couldn't do anything with work done that long ago. I also told him something that I still can't figure out. After they changed out all the lug nuts, I noticed in my garage that 4 lugs on each wheel were shiny on top, and 1 top was dull looking. I didn't think much about it at the time because I trusted them - my mistake. I am wondering now if I should have marked my tires going in to make sure they even rotated my tires correctly in the past. I looked on the internet for situations common to mine and reddit was full of the same situation where sales men made high pressure pitches to customers to change their lugs. Were they in the same boat as I? Point of fact, this type of scam is subject to treble damages in court and is probably practiced by more shops than not.

Not only was the customer service rude and unprofessional, but while waiting I could clearly hear employees making racist comments and crude rape jokes. The language and behavior were completely inappropriate for a workplace, especially one that serves the public. It was loud, raunchy, and disrespectful, and it made me feel uneasy just being there. No customer should have to overhear that kind of conversation while waiting for service. On top of that, the staff showed little regard for customers and acted like professionalism didn't matter at all. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!…read more On November 28th, 2025, I had my car towed to the Tuffy's on Dupont because it would not start (new battery), and from my multiple failed attempts to start, the clutch pedal had lost pressure. Below is everything that was quoted on my 2008 Honda Civic Si, with 130K miles. I want to note that the ignition knock sensor was accidentally broken by Tuffy, it was communicated to me, but somehow I got stuck with the bill for a new one ($55). Approved Scan codes - $160 Remove/Replace Starter & Ignition Knock sensor $765 Remove/Replace clutch master and slave cylinder & bleed clutch $956 Remove/Replace Axle seals $406 Remove/Replace Tie Rod & alignment $778 Valvoline Brake system flush $113 TOTAL - $3,079.67 Declined Remove/Replace Engine Mount $286 Remove/Replace Suspension Shock rear $436 Remove/Replace Valve cover gasket $258 Remove/Replace Clutch assembly $1,888 TOTAL - $2,869 When I picked up my car, it started, but something was off. Once the car warmed up the idle RPM's were inconsistent and the engine would vibrate horribly. The car also had trouble accelerating and the RPM's were twice as high as usual as I would put the car in neutral to come to a stop. Once in my garage, I noticed the smell of gas fumes and the exhaust was a dark color, and I had a leak. Under the hood, I noticed the intake manifold was dark and dirty on the far right side. The car struggled to start the next day. I took the car back to them and they quickly figured out that there was a gasket that wasn't installed properly and that some packaging had been left behind in the master or slave cylinder. Who knows what they actually did but all those issues did resolve, minus the rough start the leak. I took the car back a second time for the starting issue and nothing was really done, just suggestions of cleaning the throttle body, and making sure the spark plugs that I installed were properly gapped, which they were. This is when they started sticking to the phrase "if the starter is cranking, then it works". Didn't matter that this brand new NAPA Premium Plus Starter (2446993) sounded horrible as it struggled to crank. When I was leaving I noticed my check engine light came on, when it never had been before. They either forgot to reconnect a sensor or they disconnected something without knowing it, I let them know and they fixed it. A few days later I took my car to a family recommended mechanic. The first thing he noticed was that my flywheel looked to be taking damage, and that my axle seals were leaking. I took my car back to Tuffy's for a third time, and they confirmed the leaking axle seals, and claimed that they either mistakenly ordered the wrong ones, or that they were given the wrong ones. They fixed the axle seals and on the rough start they again gave me the line "if the starter is cranking, then it works", so they recommend the following. Remove/Replace Direct Fuel Pump Module Assembly $805 Adjust Valve Lash, Valve cover gasket, NGK High Ignitability Spark Plugs $697 I declined these services and I ordered a Honda Denso OEM fuel pump module assembly, and replaced it myself. After install, there was absolutely no change. The car's rough start issue remained. On February 21st, my clutch pedal had once again lost pressure, and so I brought the car back to them once again (4th time); thinking everything would be covered since they had done all the clutch work, but they quoted me the below. Remove/Replace Clutch Hydraulic line, 3/16 copper brake line, and brake fluid $209.45 I declined these services as well, and took the car back to the recommended mechanic and he said the issue was actually the slave cylinder. Dealing with Tuffy's was pointless, so I had him replace the slave cylinder (paid for the part and labor again) and I also had him go ahead and fully diagnose my starter issue at this point. The starter turned out to be faulty. Thank god the NAPA that Tuffy's had purchased it from was able to provide me with the lifetime warranty on it, and they gave me a new one. I had it installed with a NEW flywheel to ensure this didn't damage the new starter. After all this, my car starts up fine now; no clutch pedal issues. The only items that haven't gone bad that Tuffy's installed are the clutch master cylinder and the tie rod, but I have no confidence in them based on how everything else went.
