I had gotten tires from McMahon's tires on 9/10/21. They offer free rotation as a "loss leader" to entice you to buy tires. And I would take the vehicle (2016 GMC Acadia Denali) every 8K miles. I got the tires rotated on 9/24/24 and the salesman Jackson Boyce informed me that the lug nut GMC used were cheaper/shorter lug nuts with a tall crimp on beauty cap. He said that the caps on these nuts had leaked and swollen with corrosion and needed to be replaced. I am a engineer and it made sense so I had them replace all of them. It cost $125 to change out all cheaper capped lugs for 20 solid lugs. I had the tires rotated on 6/24/25 and the Madeline Miller informed me that one of the batteries in the pressure sensors had failed, and the other batteries were close to failing, So once again I agreed that it was better to change all of the TPMS sensors out when the rotated the tires. On 9/16/25, I changed out the front brakes and noticed two things. The lugs were torqued to 200+ Foot pounds. The max for most lugs is 120. It took a T bar wrench and a 4ft piece of pipe to get the lugs off. I also noticed that the front lugs had anti-seize compound compound inside the lugs. I use anti-seize compound on lugs whenever I change brakes, and I did so the last time I changed the front brakes. You can tell because when you apply anti-seize inside the lugs, any extra deposits as a white ring where the stud stops inside. And that was what I saw. I pulled a lug from the back wheels and sure enough, there was the usually ring of anti-seize compound I put there the last time I changed rear brakes. Problem: If McMahon changed the all the lug nuts a year earlier...why was there anti-seize compound in all the lug nuts. Brad Neal said McMahon didn't use seize compound. Either the new lug nuts scrapped the compound off the studs and made the ring in all of the lugs. The problem is...I checked, this doesn't happen. I tested one lug I cleaned and there was no ring. This would indicate that they never changed my lugs to begin with. Also, from the pictures show that the lugs were incredibly stained and had marks that indicated they had been taken off multiple times. Brad Neal showed me the lugs they use. Behind the counter there were at least 4 big bins with what I roughly calculated contained 500 lug nuts when full. Why do they need this many lugs? How often do they have to changed out lugs for the same reasons they explained for my vehicle? They charged me $6 a lug which they probably cost them less that $1 each. Which means I was looking at least $4000 in potential profit for replacing perfectly good capped nuts...or even just replacing the lugs anyway for no reason. I started looking at the bins and examining the various new lugs. Well, they were solid, but they were also cheap nickle coated lugs - that might actually stain after a year like Brad suggested. I usually walk softly and carry a big stick. I have a background in engineering and material science and chemistry. I have 31 US patents and retired at 45. Brad finally figured some of this out from the comments I made before, and when I examined the lugs they use, he then became very nervous and said I would have to get back from behind the counter because customers are not allowed there - yet he was the one who invited me back to see the lugs he was holding. When we returned to his station he looked at all the past service dates and indicated that it was over a year that the lugs were changed and he couldn't do anything with work done that long ago. I also told him something that I still can't figure out. After they changed out all the lug nuts, I noticed in my garage that 4 lugs on each wheel were shiny on top, and 1 top was dull looking. I didn't think much about it at the time because I trusted them - my mistake. I am wondering now if I should have marked my tires going in to make sure they even rotated my tires correctly in the past. I looked on the internet for situations common to mine and reddit was full of the same situation where sales men made high pressure pitches to customers to change their lugs. Were they in the same boat as I? Point of fact, this type of scam is subject to treble damages in court and is probably practiced by more shops than not. read more

I went in to get an alignment and about 20-30 minutes of waiting I was called up and told there was bad news. They then explained I had NOTICEABLE frame damage which I thought was bs (turned out to be). I was given names of places that could fix my frame and told it would be around 800+ dollars. They then made me pay 1/3 of the bill for labor and I drove home found another alignment shop. I brought it there and they said it was my upper ball joint that was out of alignment, they fixed it and my car was driving straight. Trevor told me this but he was just telling me what Robert, the guy who does alignments told him. I won't blame Trevor he was helpful but still doesn't help the fact. These guys are very upfront and honest. Where previous garage said we needed entire muffler system replaced these guys said differently. I like that they have computer diagnostic printouts and then explain the problems in detail. Also their waiting room is clean and you are able to hear explanations to other customers. They walked a customer back to mechanic area to say hello to a worker. Kindness and honesty go a long way with me. read more

In from out of state for our niece's Saturday wedding, we punctured a tire two hours before the event. We walked in to the store 30 minutes after posted closing time. The staff didn't blink or grumble about putting off their weekend for us. They fixed it for a totally reasonable fee in 15 minutes & we made the wedding with time to spare. My tire was cut at work and I love an hour away and I was my only day off this week so really had no time to spar I called them as soon as I got the tire off and they said stop by I was in and out with a new tire in 15 min in a h rim and ready to go. The guy was super nice offered to go down the road to get a tire 10 dollars cheaper. Wouldn't recommend any other place will for sure bring all my car needs here. read more

My fiance has gone to this service provider for a few years and any time that we have to get something other than a routine balance/rotation or oil change there's a discrepancy between what the shop mechanics know and the sales teams knows. For example; recently my fiance had a brand new tire he just purchased the week before get a hole in it. When he went in to replace the tire they wouldn't honor the replacement value. They made him buy a whole new tire and take it up with the manufacturer. Three months later we got a rebate of $50 on a tire that cost us 150 and the tire was a week old. This was not how the replacement program was presented to us. Today I went to get two new tires, balance of my old tires and an alignment. I was quoted $359 for the entire job only to receive a call that they need to reset the SAS which is found on newer cars with traction systems. SAS is short for Steering Angle Sensor. They told me it takes an additional 30 minutes on top of the hour to do the alignment. After calling around to other mechanics I found out that it takes 5 minutes, and it's something with in the settings of the alignment equipment. There is no additional work for the mechanic other than pushing in a specific program. These guys are dishonest. Do not go there. read more

Disappointed. I called 5 days prior and made an appointment for first thing in the morning, explaining I would take the day off of work and hoping to get the car done same day. This was not a tall order, considering there were no major repairs, and the person on the phone assured me this would be no problem. So, I show up for the appointment, and nobody had ever heard of me. So, I again detailed exactly what needed to be done to the vehicle, and again expressed my need to have the work started right away. I clarified with the desk employee which phone number to call me at, since I was not at work that day. 1 pm rolls around, and I call them, wondering why I haven't heard anything. The mechanic says the account was noted to call me before starting work; this is exactly the opposite of what I clarified at the desk. He called my work number; again, the opposite of what I clarified at the desk. So, now I get to spring for a rental car to get to work tomorrow, since the McMahon staff couldn't: 1) Honor my appointment 2) Follow the simple instructions I gave (twice) 3) Enter/follow the notes on my account I will also be losing paid time from work tomorrow, adding to the already considerable expense of servicing my vehicle. I guess we'll call this lost pay and the rental car cost, "The McMahon Tax". The staff is friendly, no doubt. But good service requires more than friendliness; it also requires performing the tasks requested! I write this review knowing I have ZERO leverage against an auto repair shop. There will be no discounts or rental car reimbursement; they own my vehicle, and I have to pay to get it back. So, this review is all the leverage I have. My advice: after EVERY sentence you speak to their staff, ask them to read back their notes. UPDATE, from 2 to 3 stars: They are planning to have my vehicle ready today, which is a life-saver. no rental car required. The staff has been friendly and knowledgeable throughout the experience, but they need to work on their internal communication. They were planning to install their coolant and a battery off of their shelves, when I had to (again) remind them that the OEM coolant and a brand new battery were in the cargo space of the car, ready to go. This would have been an inexcusable error, given the number of times (four) I have reiterated this fact with them. I can only imagine how THAT conversation with the manager would have gone: "I'm not paying for that, or you can purchase the battery and coolant from me that I brought." "No, here's your bill." "Here's a check I will stop payment on, so that I can drive my vehicle home, see you in court." I would service my vehicle there again, but I will be having the employees read back the account notes to me when I do. read more
