We broke down on the New Jersey Turnpike with a flat tire, which was terrifying with cars and tractor-trailers flying by on both sides while we were stuck in the middle. We were finally able to get a donut spare on, but after spending more than 24 hours trying unsuccessfully to get a replacement rental car, we were exhausted, stressed, and stranded far from home. We were traveling from Massachusetts to North Carolina with my young daughter and our dog. Our rental car company recommended Mavis, but after waiting there for quite a while, they told us they couldn't repair the tire because of its location and sent us elsewhere. That's when we found FBN Auto Sales & Services, and everything changed. From the moment we arrived, Steve treated us with genuine kindness and compassion. He immediately reassured us that everything was going to be okay and understood how overwhelming the situation had been. HOWEVER, Rakuten was running 20% cash back AND Goodyear had an internal 15% off coupon so suddenly my three (mind ya business) $1500 run flats were $1100. In this economy, I had to roll the dice. Thankfully, Associate Tara got me right. I needed tires on by EOD Wednesday but online was showing a Thursday install date. She confirmed they could get them and scheduled me for Wednesday morning. Now, like the other reviews, my "2 hour" job that started at 8AM didn't wrap up til 12 but that's OK. I'll take a thorough job over a rush almost any day. I felt kinda bad ditching my regular mechanic but these prices were too good to pass up. And the service from Tara was top notch! I'm at the point where everything on my little German menace costs $500 and up so I was slow rolling on getting new tires. But chile I forgot what it's like to drive on tires with tread lmao. I was pleasantly surprised when I went to Goodyear, swearing never to go there again, but because it was a Sunday and I needed a new tire I held my nose and went! If you read my last review on Goodyear you can see how that visit went. This was a complete 180° difference. The gentleman at the sales counter was friendly and very helpful. Yes I know it was for one tire, but he looked up my record and found that it was on warranty. The Jets v Denver game was on in the waiting room and I had a pleasant conversation on local sports. Upon picking up my tire I was proceeding to put on a pair of gloves as not to get my hands dirty and he insisted on taking it out of my car for me! read more

Dishonest. I had dropped off my Honda Pilot to get new tires and wheel alignment. When I returned, the car had a big dent in the driver side front rocker panel. I spoke to the manager and they completely denied that it happened when the car was in their possession. Unfortunately I didn't take any photos when I dropped off the car. Zero stars. Bad service. Please do not bring your car here. I brought my son's car because his catalytic converter got stolen. They charged us around $2,700 & we agreed because we need the car done. We got the car after 2 days but the check engine is on. They said drive it & it will go away, if not bring it to them. We called them after 2 weeks & they said they will order parts & it came on the 3rd week but they can't figure why there's still check engine so they drive it around but on the 4th week they said computer problem & wants us to pay for the labor & computer replacement. Totally unacceptable! They don't care once you paid. So it's better to bring it to the dealer because this place is horrible. We trusted them but now I think we made a wrong choice. I am not even sure if they are certified or license mechanics. Please do yourself a favor & bring it to a reputable place that don't deceive customers. Also, I remember asking if I can get the parts from other place & if they can do it & charge me labor. They said fine if I can find one. I saw a parts online & Jim said - no not that one that is universal. I asked him to show me & he search on the NAPA auto supplies & covered the price so I don't see it. But I saw it was around $700 but I was charged for $1,700 on that particular part but he was sweet talking & saying that we don't even charge you for labor! So WARNING!!! I made an online appointment for the next morning, someone called me to tell me they did not have the tire I wanted. He placed the order and rescheduled me for a noon appointment. When I got to GoodYear, they had the tire they said they ordered me and that I was a priority since my appointment was changed. This place is absolutely terrible. I called my tire company, Dunlop (owned by Goodyear), to inquire about the treadwear warranty and they required me to go here for an "inspection." All these guys were supposed to do is inspect the tires and measure the treads. That is all I authorized. Well the inspection was supposed to take 20 min, after an hour they ask if they can talk to me. I knew I had a slow leak due to a puncture in one of my tires. When they talk to me they try to tell me that in addition to the puncture wound, the tire is leaking out of the air fill valve. I told him there is no way, I have filled that tire at least ten times and I tested for air leaks myself. I ask him right away to show me so I can see the tire. So I go into the back expecting that they will spray a soap solution on the tire and that I will see the bubbles. Instead, I am horrified to see my tire completely taken apart and off the rim and a tech that looks like he is 16 years old messing around with my tire sensor, using all of his weight with some pliers in an attempt to turn it. I immediately start asking why the hell my tire is being torn apart, I have not authorized them to do work on my car. Well they said that they called Dunlop and that Dunlop authorized them to replace the inside part of the air valve for free. I stopped them and said "No, Dunlop told you that it would be free, Dunlop cannot authorize you to do work on my car, this is my property and I own it, you cannot work on it without my verbal or written authorization." Well, then the bad news starts coming. It turns out that the tech there messed with the air valve (which is connected to the TPMS sensor enough so that he claimed he "could not remove it because the sensor is broken." So I tell them I do not want it fixed, it is not broken, put the tire back together and I am leaving. Well guess what? They bleeping broke my TPMS sensor. Then they start using language of "Well we will not make you pay for labor, but the part..." I said no way, I was just supposed to be getting an inspection here and then they say well they can put the spare tire on. Then I really started fuming and I told them that if they did not put my tire back together with an operable sensor then they were going to have hell to pay. Finally, they say okay they are going to put in a "new sensor" and put the tire back together. At this point it is 4 PM, I walked into the place at 1:30 PM. It takes them another hour to destroy my sensor and put a new one in- please see the picture I attached of my destroyed senor for reference. This place is the worst. I have never been so disgusted by the lack of professionalism at an establishment. Especially because in my 3.5 hours waiting at the Goodyear place, I carefully noticed that they tried to tell EVERY SINGLE person that they needed an additional repair. It was everything from oil plugs to brakes that they were trying to tack onto people's orders. And this is the kicker, after they mess up my car- they have the gall to try to ask me if I want the tires done there and try to convince me that I need all four of my tire sensors replaced. What?!?!? What planet are these people living on??? DO NOT GO HERE. They are not to be trusted with your property. This is a real shame that Goodyear must be instructing its sites to increase margins by tacking on services. I have never seen such a blatant disregard for the customer and such an obvious attempt to bait and switch every single customer so as to increase margins. Its a real shame, I guess Goodyear is just another American company that is going to lose its base by providing crappy service and somehow expecting that in a competitive market, people won't go elsewhere. I am getting my tires redone today at a local shop and I am getting Hankook tires- they are a South Korean company and as much as I like to support US companies, Goodyear has done nothing to deserve my business or respect. read more

RIPOFF, RIPOFF, RIPOFF. I imagine they're able to stay in business simply because there aren't a lot of nearby competitors (especially in walking distance). Consequently management here must see this as an excuse to gouge prices and take advantage of peoples' inexperience with cars and/or inability to get to other garages. I've had too many negative experiences to completely list here, but here's just a few highlights: *Dropped off my car for a battery change. Hours later I was told that the battery "housing was rusted shut", that the battery couldn't be removed and that I'd have to have the entire housing dismantled. Suspicious, I took my car back without following their suggestion and took it to a local mechanic instead...who changed the battery without incident in 15 minutes. *Girlfriend had a Goodyear coupon for an oil change and dropped the car there. Desk clerk assured her that the coupon was valid. She came back to pick up the car and was informed that they would not honor her coupon because a discount had already been calculated into the store price (???). They refused to return her key unless she paid full price. *The final straw was when I dropped my car in the morning for a simple tire patch. I figured, despite their incompetence in other automotive areas, surely tires were no problem for GOODYEAR. Sure enough, I was told they'd have no problem getting it back to me shortly and they'd give me a call soon. Hearing nothing, I called 5 hours later for an update and was assured my car was "next in line". Went back a couple hours later and my car hadn't even been touched. I asked for my key back in frustration. Took my car to another garage the next day, who not only charged me less than half of what Goodyear would have...but also had the tire patched...you guessed it, in 15 minutes. Automotive issues are always frustrating and are always a part of vehicle ownership...as such, a good mechanic/garage, that respects you and treats you fairly, goes a long way towards easing that frustration. You definitely do NOT get that here. Do yourself a favor...get yourself a ride or take a taxi and venture out a little further. You'll end up saving yourself a lot of time, money and disappointment. read more

Goodyear advertised an oil change for $18.95 ($21.25 with disposal fee) so i purposely went out of my way to bring both my car and my wife's car over there to get their oil changed. They didn't do both cars at the same time because "that would create a glitch in the system." WHATT?? Okey dokey, so we waited for my wife's car to get done first. 45 min later, guy comes out, tries to sell me tires, alignment, and whatever else. No no no. Ok. On to the total...it came out to $29.75. I asked him what happened to the $21.25 special advertised online and he said they had to put an extra quart of oil in the car, so they charged me extra. They also charged me an additional disposal fee. Is it a lot of money? No, but I'm just tired of this bait and switch nonsense. Needless to say, i left without having them service my car (which, btw needed a lot more work done). Good job making that extra $8 guys, you missed out on a lot more. Our two cars will be serviced elsewhere. read more

I brought my car here because one of my tires had a slow leak. I called a few garages to see who would do it for the lowest price. This Goodyear on Easton Avenue in Somerset, NJ quoted me the lowest price of $24.95, so I asked if they could take it immediately or if I needed to make an appointment. He said to bring it right in because they weren't that busy, and so I did. The car was brought in to the garage within 5 minutes. I expected to be out of there within a half hour. So I waited and I waited. I waited 1 HOUR AND 45 MINUTES for a small leak in one tire to be fixed! And here's the kicker... when the car was done, I was told it would cost $41.48, for a job I expected to pay $24.95! So I said I was told on the phone that it would cost $24.95. Why didn't the guy who I spoke with on the phone tell me it would cost $38.90 plus tax for a total of $41.48? I would have gone somewhere else because all of the other places I called were lower than this. They sure know how to lure customers in, who wait and wait and wait for their cars to be done and then WHAM!!!! screw them in the end. read more

I set up an appointment and ordered the tires online. I called the day before my appointment and confirmed that all was in order. When I arrived everything went smoothly. I purchased TPMS sensors and they were installed along with the tires without incident. The two counter people I dealt with were polite and insured that I received my two credits totaling $200.00. The waiting area had coffee, a TV, plenty of chairs and there is Dunkin Donuts within walking distance of the store. I have no complaints. Made an appointment for 9:30am online, which said to expect a 2 hour wait for pickup- my car wasn't done until 4:30pm and they charged me $250 to switch the tires and look at my alignment. Do not go here. Went for the first time today for a routine oil change and the employee pushed the $70 synthetic oil on my 2016 Honda Accord with 12,000 miles. He point blank refused to sell me the $25 basic oil change so I left the store to go elsewhere. I've been coming to this location for 7 years. Recently I've sought out other tire and auto shops. They used to be well pulled together, organized and timely. Today I was in a pinch and I dropped my car off at 8:30 in the morning to have a tire patched by lunch time. Upon my return at 3:40 I found my car up on the lift. They just began repairing my tire. It seems that their performance today seems to be in accordance with their previous reviews on here. Their problem here is their computer/pos system is snail like...coupled with a ringing phone and 1 associate at the counter, they expect the associate to be more like a 10 armed octopus. They can be slow if you let them. Make sure to get to know Jim Swallow and make it clear to him you dont want to wait all day for basic services, or they will make you wait. Their service techs always seem to be milling around wasting time, therefore wasting your time. Again, make it clear to Jim your time is valuable, and he will move things along. Sometimes they just seem sluggish. And try not to have your car finished between 4-5pm or you get caught in the shift change...and at that time nobody cares if you get out on time, they only care if they get out on time.. FIND ANOTHER PLACE TO GO!! Took my car in for a tire patch. They told me the tire could not be fixed. I chose not to buy a tire from them because I was not sure about the tire not being able to be repaired. They said they gave me back the tire and the rim and put it in my trunk and placed my donut spare back on my car, and gave me a bill for about $17. I paid the bill and went on my way. I took the car, with the tire in the trunk-so I thought, to another service station to have it patched, only to learn that Goodyear did not give me back my tire, only my rim. I was furious and had to buy a brand new tire, since I could not get back to Goodyear quickly. (I was riding on a spare donut tire and live 35 miles away). I called Goodyear and it took over a week to talk to the store manager. I was initially dealing with the service manager, who assured me he was working on it and needed to find out what they were going to do for me. I ended up speaking with the store manager, who found my tire in a heap of over 100 tires, after I was told by the service manager that my tire was already hauled away and could not be returned to me. I finally got my tire back and received a full refund of approximately $17 (the initial charge for them taking the tire off the rim). So, after 2 weeks, a $200 brand new tire and the return of my original flat tire, I took the flat tire to my mechanic to take a look at it. He said the tire looked ok and just needed a patch. I will NEVER go to Goodyear again. I am in the process of getting the contact information of the corporate owners so I can let them know how this store runs. read more
