Get a second quote. First off. $2500 seemed like a good price for a head gasket replacement. After it was put back together, engine quit running. It had to be re-done, i was told that it was gonna cost another $2500. Finaly, done then the AC wasn't working. Was working fine, prior to the work. I had him look at it, given that it was removed by them. I was told that it had a leak in the system and was quoted $1500, what!!. I took it to another shop and to fix the mistake that these shop made, it only cost me $136.00. I had told then to also check and replace any hose that needed replacing. Surprise. Had a Smog performed soon after and i was told that it had failed. Why?. Well the smog hoses had electrical tape and were zipped tied. I refrained from reporting the shop to the BBB. My kids told me to stay away. Becouse they also have had a bad experiance. I did bussines with these shop for 15 plus years. I suppose that if the vehicle was a VW or a Mercedes, as they advertise that it would had been a good job. Ho! The reason the engine quit was that the hydraulic lifters failed. Loyal custome. One of the technicians was extremely rude. I was told by the person at the counter to drive around and park in one of the spaces where someone could help me. When I approached the technician he was immediately hostile, angry and rude. So rude that I said to him, "You're rude". I had to ask another technician to help me. The 2nd technician was helpful, friendly and respectful. He helped me with my issue and I was so grateful because of the how the first person had treated me. I took my '99 VW Jetta there for new tires, I had picked them out on the Goodyear website at 83 dollars each. As soon as I got there the owner took the car for a test drive, without my permission. When he got back he told me the tires I wanted would not work on my car, he said "they won't hold the weight." This struck me as very odd, it's a light car, but I unfortunately took his word for it. That was his first lie. He told me I would have to buy a more expensive set, and that they would be an extra 25 dollars for the set. That was his second lie, they were an additional 25 dollars each. He next told me my brake pads were worn down to 2% remaining, that was his third lie. Then he told me the lower right ball joint was worn out (his 4th lie), as well as the left tie rod end (his 5th lie), and the right CV joint boot was split, so the car needed a new CV joint (his 6th lie). I told him I'm a diesel mechanic, I'll fix anything that's wrong with it. By the way, VW disc brakes have wear indicators that set off a light on the dash as well as making a loud metal scraping sound long before the pads get down to 2%. I was well aware of that at the time, so I knew what kind of crook I was talking to. When I got the car home, I started looking at the components he described as faulty, and guess what, they were all in fine shape. The front brake pads were at about 45-50%. I also noticed the tires he sold me are load range B, just like the ones I asked for originally. This guy is the most dishonest small business owner I have ever encountered, and I've been around for quite a while. I will never go back to his shop, ever. read more

STAY AWAY!!! Took my car in to have the rear brake drums and shoe replaced. After the part came in from the vendor, a mechanic began working on the car. However, after a while, I didn't hear the usual sounds of brake work. I saw the mechanic picking at the brake's adjustment knob. I asked "what are you doing? Just get a hammer to get if off." He/they claimed that drum was stuck and that hammering the drum off would damage something. So, as he continued wasting more time picking at the adjustment knob with his screw driver, I got suspicious. I then let the manager know that my car will not stay over night. At this time the mechanic still hasn't gotten the drum off yet. I then told the manager to cancel the brake work. Later I came to the conclusion to why the mechanic was taking his time..... it was a plan to just do a brake adjusted but charge me (the customer) for new parts and no labor. In other words, there is no such thing of being charged $480 for a brake adjustment. They wanted me to think that my brake parts were replaced..... SCAM!!! Folks, when you take your car in.... keep and eye on it. Yes, the manager was friendly, but that's just a cover. TRUST NO AUTO REPAIR SHOP. Been going here for years. Always thought we were getting a good deal and great service. That changed today when it was time to get our car smoged. Spent 5k dollars 2 years ago for engine work, Jay told us that our AC line also needed to be replaced for 2k additional, at the time we declined that because it was expensive. So we decided to take the car to an AC expert and was told all the lines are great, you just need to fill the lines for 50 dollars. Did not feel great after that with Jay. Fast forward to today, getting a smog and our vehicle failed because there was hoses taped and zip tied to the engine and those hoses are now discontinued. Took my truck in for a flat repair as there was a nail stuck in the tire. A few days later I noticed the pressure was low on that tire so I put more air in it, but kept slowly loosing air. I had to take it to a reputable tire shop and got it properly repaired. They told me whoever tried repairing this just didn't care as it was very poorly done. read more

I have a set of Goodyear tires on my Dodge Ram Quad Cab 1500 2009 truck, as I have always used, but the last set has given me a very hard ride with only 30K miles (approx.) on them. I have them balanced and rotated regularly, as well as getting the occasional alignment. Most of my mileage has been on the highway. The tires have a 50,000 mile warranty and I have paid for an additional insurance. So I take the truck into this Goodyear location and he tells me that there isn't anything that they can do, that I should call Goodyear. I guarantee!, this will be the last set of Goodyear tires that this truck sees. My friend Rob Tom also had bad luck with this dealer. read more

I don't like to let anyone touch my cars. I'm a diy guy who does everything from changing my brakes to replacing a water pump.... that is when I have the time. I needed a wheel bearing replaced on my 01' Integra as well as new springs and shocks. Jay quoted me a price and I paid that same price. I first spoke with Jose on the phone for a quote on a brake service. He was very professional and answered all my questions. He convinced me to come in for an inspection to better asses the situation. I come in I'm immediately approached my Jose who recognizes my voice and gets right to what we talked about. He took my car for a test drive and told me in his professional opinion what should be replaced and what could wait. When we finally got to billing he manager of the store took over. I was quoted for all 4 brakes and rotors at a little over 380 but all I was getting done was front brakes and rotors and a brake fluid flush. The total came to 560... I was confused because I was getting less work done but getting charged more. That's when the manager realized Jose quoted me wrong. Jose took responsibility for it and said he cleared it with the manager before telling me. That's when the manger said he was on the phone and he didn't know what he was actually approving. He then carries on about how this isn't the first time Jose has done this and was really laying into him about his mistake. It was very awkward and unprofessional to have that type of conversation in front of me. He manager than continues to argue with me about why I need to get my brakes and rotors done and that his price is better than I'm gonna get anywhere else. Overall, the experience there was awkward and as soon as I told him I wasn't gonna get my brakes done today he treated me different. I felt bad for Jose, I hope he knows he did a great job with his customer service and that I appreciate that he owned up to his mistake. As far as the manager he could learn to not reprimand his employees in front of a customer and learn to speak kindly to me whether I'm spending 95 for my oil change or 500 for a brake service. read more

I brought my year 2000 BMW here to have it's various things slowly going wrong with it fixed ive probably been here 5 times minimum to fix my car. At first I was satisfied. They let me pick up my car late even waving the 3 or 4 day storage fee. But there is this Serbian guy there running the place, and even though he's a nice guy at the surface, he keeps trying to upsell me on parts. The car is fixed and it runs fine but he told me It need struts and a suspension overhaul and then a camshaft replacement on top of that. How could he even test my camshaft? He didn't even come close to it when he was fixing my other parts. Other people have read the car and given me codes and not once did anyone mention a camshaft...And when I asked him why exactly i needed a replacement he really couldn't give me a straight answer. Something doesn't add up here...one last thing I want to mention is every time I bring my car back here to be fixed, something new almost goes Immediately wrong with it. EVERYTIME. It could be coincidence, but who knows...I'm going to stop going here to have my car fixed. read more

Jay and his mechanic cheated me in two ways. My air conditioner was working perfect and then for no reason just started blowing hot air for three minutes and then went back to cold. I asked Jay to look at it. He called me and told me he replaced a switch. Then he called me an hour later and said that now it would only blow hot air. He did a pressure check and I needed a new compressor. $800. I took my truck to a reputable mechanic. He found that my air conditioner had no Freon. It was full of Freon when I took it to Jay. He found a wire that had shorted out on the side of the air conditioner, he fixed that and filled it with Freon and it worked perfect. Cost me $60 to refill the Freon (which I could not get Jay to pay for) and $120 for the labor. Jay and his mechanic are crooks! Then yesterday, I took my truck into have my tires balanced. The mechanic showed me that there was play in both front tires because the bearings where not tightened properly. Jay and his mechanic replaced my front brakes and bearings six weeks ago. Those bearings would have worn down in a very short amount of time. Now they should be good for years. If they can take advantage of me, they must be doing it to others! read more

had to leave the place since the owner(?) quoted a price for the installation of a pair of air shocks that will NOT include the replacement of the air hoses,valve & other fittings, I called him a few days before for an appt time & estimate for the installation thinking every part related to the air shocks will be replaced as it should be,at the shop,I was firmly informed;only the shocks will be replaced for the price mentioned,this is of course pointless so had to go back to Vaca Valley Auto Parts to ask if they knew someone who can do the job,Ruben's Precision Automotive was mentioned,the owner gave me the same price quote & when asked if the other related parts will be replaced,he replied;they have to be, to ensure the proper performance of the new air shocks,Ruben's will be reviewed in the immediate future read more
