WOMAN BEWARE!!!!!! I stopped in here while traveling thru the area to see if they could install my trailer hitch on the back of my Subaru. They put my car up on the lift to take a look at it. He told me it would take 2 hours and cost $400. When I told them it's a 30 min job his reply was, "The manuel says 2 hours so, 2 hours". I said, "You don't need the manuel. IT'S FOUR BOLTS!! You're charging me a $100 a bolt. Take my car off the lift. Your thieves!" Thank the lord my dad taught me to be comfortable in male dominated fields and I knew better! Any other woman might have believed them and paid that price. If you call around, it's a $100 job. Better yet, I drove over to Danny's Automotive Repair on West Texas Street. Used to be a great shop. I've had them balance probably 10 sets of large offroad tires over the years. However, things have changed. Got quoted $50/wheel just for balance. The wheels were off the vehicle and in the bed of my truck. Owner stated it is because "they take a lot of weight and the weights have gotten more expensive". I went down the street to American Tires & Wheels and got them balanced for $20 each. Unfortunately, Big Discount Tire Pros have lost a repeat customer. read more

I had my two energetic toddlers with me and they were able to not only get my oil changed done quickly but patch my tire within about 40 minutes. I started coming here 3 years ago when my Dad had car issues. Since my Dad is in his late 70s I always worry that some business will take advantage of him because of his age. Thankfully Dad used to be a mechanic so he knows when something is wrong with his car. The first couple times he visited the place, I always asked him if they were helpful and fair and he said they were good and trusted them. I trusted my Dad's judgement so I came here two years ago with the rat issue in 2020, which was quickly resolved. Afterward, I decided to go back to them to get tires last year since the dealership recommended I change them. This year I came back to get my brakes checked since the dealership noted a recommendation for replacement. I'm usually doubtful with the dealerships since they make the recommendations off to be worse than they are. I went here because I knew either Mike or Brian would tell me what was really needed. So Brian recommended the front brakes be changed and that I was good with the back for another 2 oil changes. Good to know there's a local trustworthy business to rely on. Specifically, Mike visually walked me thru a code reader showing that not only did I NOT need a catalytic converter, I also didn't need an O2 sensor. My tire blew out on me on the freeway, called AAA for roadside. Searched for a reasonable good tire shop nearby and decided to go here. Pulled up and got out hoping to speak with someone but I noticed everyone was busy so I waited. Went inside and didn't see anyone, went back outside and noticed a guy pull up and get out and was instantly addressed and helped before me. I politely let them know that I have been waiting to be helped before the guy that just pulled up. The man working at the tire shop suggested that is why they have an office for folks to check in. The guy that just pulled up did not go inside the office. He was also outside. I told him I went inside and did not see anyone to help me. He told me that he went into the office shortly after I did. That told me that he saw me, he was just ignoring me. I couldn't believe he talked and acted this way towards me. He rushed the entire process as if he didn't want to help me. Asked me if I've been there before, I told him no. He didn't welcome me or make me feel welcomed!!! I do not tolerate being disrespected especially if I am paying for a service! If I didn't really need my tires changed right of way, I would of never got my tires from here! The guys working on my tires were nice and they did a great job. The customer service could be better! Went in several months ago to have my tires replaced after one of them was slashed (by whom is still a mystery, but it was almost time for a full set of new tires anyway, so...thanks for the reminder, universe!). Have since been back for routine tire rotation and alignment, as well as brake pad replacement and to have a motor mount repaired. Love these guys so much more than the big name chain repair place I initially used when I first moved back to CA. They've always managed to get me in pretty quickly, the prices have been reasonable as have the wait times. Plus everyone here is super friendly and helpful. And I never feel like they're trying to up-sell me on something I don't really need, or using my relative lack of automotive knowledge against me & to their advantage. I was getting frustrated after shops not answering the phone for several days, appointments canceled, and 1 shop telling me since I did not buy my tires there, i would have to leave my car all day!
