I ordered my breakfast and when it came I asked for xtra gravy for my chicken fried steak the server said "they charge xtra for that and walked away. Wow didn't even give me a chance to ask how much? Anyway I'm done with place their service has been on the decline over the past 12 mo. And there are additional choices near that have just opened. Nice job losing a loyal customer. read more

Where do I begin, ordered take out on 5/15 @ 8:13 p.m. The girl that answered the phone didn't know where she was as she said another name, covered the receiver laughing with a man about it. Took my order, did not repeat it, also told me because it was over a certain amount I had to pay over phone. Picked up my $33.84 order, came home opened it, and one dinner was wrong. It was something i can not eat so I called & explained to the girl on the phone my reason for calling. She asked if I wanted to speak with the manager, I said yes. She didn't place the phone on hold so I could hear the conversation, he did not want to speak with me, she asked that I call back and at point I realized the customer isn't important in this managers eye or I would of been asked to hold until he was available. Nope, I heard him say he didn't want to speak to me. So it was a waste of my money as we had to throw it away because i can not eat fried food. I had been a loyal customer since they opened, Never again will they have my business, That is what I told her on the phone. Daytime employees are great! Never had a problem. We used the drive through since the restaurant was pretty busy. When we ordered burgers, we said "spread and cheese only" the lady taking orders asked "cottage cheese?" My husband said "no" and repeated our order. We get home and we have burgers with NOTHING BUT COTTAGE CHEESE!! Really? Who would thing anyone puts cottage cheese on a burger. We also had a veggie burger in our bag. It probably belonged to the person behind us. I called several times and no one ever answered the phone. Had I lived closer, I would've gone back. We have to scrape the cottage cheese off the burgers and add our own dressing and cheese from home. read more

Went with family today. Ordered, asked for two to go coffee cups and we sat and waited. Watched as people who placed orders after us got their food. Went up and asked where are order was, after looking thru receipts, they pointed to a to go bag sitting on the counter for 15 minutes. I explained we wanted to eat there, had a number on our table but the manager mistakenly made it a to go order. They redid the order, 2 of 3 omelets were wrong, missing ingredients plus no toast or fruit cup. Told the mgr and he only offered to redo the entire order for a third time. We were hungry and no one else had any difficulty, we waited for the toast, fruit cup and sour cream. Second poor experience at this location in less than two weeks. Will stick with the Washington and Varner locations, different owner and orders always come out correct. read more

The food is standard, the wait is long, and the service is terrible. We were fans at first but this location is the worst. I ordered the chicken breast plate, from the light side menu, and the peaches were bad. I called to let them know and the lady that answered didn't even apologize. She stayed silent and then started talking to someone in the background and then left me holding. She finally returned and then she acted like she didn't know what was going on, so I had to explain again. After I repeated that the peaches were spoiled she said with an attitude, "you want something different?" I wasn't looking to get anything for free, I just didn't want anyone to get sick. Yay, Goody's is back in Indio! Same great variety of diner food. Drive thru available. They have booth seating inside; tables for dining outside when the weather is fine, and a drive thru! There are two wide flat screen TVs. Plenty of space. The tables at the booths are not fixed so if someone is larger in the party you can move the table more over for room. The soda fountain is self-serve and so is the brewed tea. First you order your food and pay, then sit down with your number display and they bring the food to you. Thier chicken sandwich was fresh and tasty. It comes with iceberg lettuce, mayonaise, and tomato on a big hamburger bun-you might want them to add onions. I added a little salt to the tomato. You could have it alone or as a combo (combo includes a regular drink and fries). My assistant had a pastrami. Now be careful there are two types of pastrami. If you ask for a pastrami you get it on the usual pastrami bun but they have another that comes on regular toasted bread I think it's called the Goody's Pastrami. I'm talking here about the regular pastrami. Tell them how you want it. My assistant likes it like I do with mustard, pickles, and raw onions. So specify. Well it was one huge monster of a pastrami and two could dfeinitely share. A bit on the salty side but still good. I say have it with fries if your health permits and don't add salt to the fries. I really like the atmosphere here. Everyone minds their own business. Get a menu when you go because you'll definitely be returning; it's also great take out food if you don't fell like getting off or if you're still in your pj's. P.S. They accept visa and mastercard. The food was very good: I ordered eggs with bacon and four pieces of toast,and my friend ordered the popular combination of bacon and ham with two eggs and home fries. My folks winter here for over 6 yrs. when we visit it's goodys for breakfast everyday. My dad suddenly died a few years back. Goodys is the only restaurant that when we go brings me happy memories. My dad & I always had breakfast out for over 40 yrs but goodys truly was the best. I got lunch & he got corn beef hash. A restaurant is what u make of it. Penelope sums up Goody's well. My critique, however, is a knock on the huevos ranchero breakfast I recently ordered. Except for the eggs, the lukewarm refried beans with unmelted shredded cheese and the tomato sauce covering the eggs were of mediocre canned quality. Used to frequent Maxcy's until their demise. Tried out Goody's. Please with the cleanliness, large menu, parking and location. The food is reasonably priced and for most accounts GOOD! A few misses, but generally GOOD. I now frequent Goody's at lunchtime as I refuse to go to Andy's. Andy's is a pit! Goody's is your comfort food palace with a kick. If you wake up with a huge hunger drive or a hangover, order the breakfast burrito. It will not dissapoint and will satisfy even the hungriest of people. The salsa they give to compliment it is incredible... I always have to get extra, which comes at no charge. For lunch, order the Goody's Pastrami...differnent than the reg. pastrami. This sandwich never dissapoints. For something on the healthy side, try one of the salads. Simple, yet fresh and delicious. I have enjoyed everything I have ordered from Goody's with the excpetion of a burger. I suggest to avoid their burgers. Otherwise, service is always great, fast and friendly. Nice place to sit down. Ok on their menu they have a dinner plate called fish and chips but unfortunately the chips aka fries does not come with, you have to add that to the meal plus the other options you get so make sure the options they provide the fries does not come with meal you need to ask for it, this place is way over price for something they take out of the freezer but unfortunately where i live my options are too little too choose from, yes i cook everyday but sometimes i need an off day and yet i spend my hard working money for shitty food and no english speaking. read more
