Come check it out. For the uber pizza lovers. Thin new york style jumbo slices are a great deal and they come topped with huge slices of pepperoni. A full pizza is four slices, so the individual slices are much larger than normal and great to eat folded over. The cheese is so fresh and is laid on to the thickness of the crust itself. You get a heavily cheesy and doughy bite. The tomato sauce is pretty good too when it mixes with the oils melting from the cheese. Yum,Yum! I freaked out when I saw how big the slices were. Just one will fill you up. We all split an Italian sub too. It was huge as well for a good price. Lots of slices of Italian deli meats. It seemed like double meat that sub is so thick. It wasn't as good as the pizza but it was still much better than say a subway/wawa type sub. Overall, it's a great place to indulge in those pizza induced fantasies. read more

This place is horrible. I ordered a CHEESE hogie with no oregano. When my sandwich came it had oregano. Okay no big deal. A few months later I decide to try again. This time when my sandwich came to my house IT HAD NO CHEESE on and when I called the manger said he said "oh well the cheese is covered in oregano and you asked for no oregano" I said didn't you guys think to tell me my cheese hogie would HAVE NO CHEESE because I didn't want oregano?????? I told them I wanted my money back and they refused and continued to try and justify why MY CHEESE hogie had no cheese on it!!!! Like, give me a break!! Unbelievably bad customer service! And then while on the phone with the manger trying to understand why it was okay that my cheese hogie had no cheese on it they hung up on me!! Goomba's is known for their Italian hoagie so that's what I had to try. I was really impressed! The seeded Italian couldn't have been any better. This hoagie was packed with meat and will surely appease your appetite. The building is small and cramped. It's not visually appealing inside but that will not keep me from going back the next time I'm heading down 309. As I was ordering a customer came back in from eating outside just to say how flavorful his Chicken alla Sinatra was. This is always a good sign. While visiting the grandkids the consensus was to order out for cheesesteaks... What a great choice! The rolls were fresh and very tasty, the steak meat was seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection. The sandwich was very hefty, certainly an abundance of meat and cheese. Their food is a novelty just like their name. Ordered a ham and cheese hoagie with mayo, lettuce and tomato, no onions. What I got was a novelty sized large roll, sesame seed encrusted and hard enough to cut your gums. It was beyond stale. With two layers of ham and one layer of cheese, I thought of that 80's Wendy's commercial with the old lady screaming "Where's the Beef"...following up with their attention to detail, my request came with raw red onions, roasted red peppers, oil, and a heavy dusting of italian seasonings and parmesian cheese. Wtf? How hard is it to make a simple ham and cheese hoagie! Pizza cheesesteak was on the same stale roll. The meat was diced up/shredded frozen steak slices, mixed in a red sauce, and looking like sloppy joe mix. It was so heavy on the sauce, the stale and dry bread was soggy and falling apart by the time I got home (about 15 minutes). There's a wawa down the street that makes a much better tasting and higher quality meats. Dont waste yout money or time here! read more

Crab cake: meh. large portion but really had zero flavor. i had to add ketshup (pretty gross) to make it flavorful at all. Calamari: again meh. probably because it was cold and rubbery by the time I got it. Corn fritters: pretty ok. Better than meh. I may give this place another shot, but i wasn't overly impressed. "We got backed up with the deliveries the driver will be there soon " is not an acceptable answer for food that was order over 1.5 hours ago and given a 50 min time frame. If you are new to cheesesteaks I can see how you could mistake this as excellent just like the garbage served at 9th and Passyunk is considered great to the unknowing. Goomba's is legitimately the best Italian food I've had in months! The only issue we had was not knowing we wouldn't be able to tip with our cards. This establishment is high quality and deserves every cent, which is why I'm not only going to continue to be a patron when I'm in the area, but I will reimburse them the tip I was not able to provide on our first visit today. I wish I had a Goomba's where I live, but I'm happy to have a family member that lives nearby, because it is added incentive to come visit with family. Clearly, they make hoagies better than they decorate. Place looks like a dump but first time I went, a couple of weeks ago, I got a roast beef hoagie with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and mayo. They threw in some roasted peppers too which added to the flavor and it was the best roast beef hoagie I ever had. Today I tried the Ole Italiano and it was one of the best Italian hoagies I ever had. Pricing is $12 per sandwich, the menu on the wall is outdated. Well we finally got here. We heard lots of hype from friends! It's kinda far from where we live but we were in the area and figured why not? And oh WOW were we treated to some great sandwiches! For the true Italian out there or anyone that's a fan of REAL Italian deli meat and cheese this is the place to get your next hoagie. All the meats were aged and cured to perfection. The cheese had that pure quality aroma and taste was excellent. Come very hungry because you're not getting a tiny little sandwich. You're getting a sandwich fit for a king! The tomatoes and other produce were fresh as well. They use red onion to add more flavor and a nice oil and vinegar blend. Took me over an hour to eat my whole sandwich but it was worth it! Big portions and big flavor. They do it big here including the condiments, so if you don't want too much sauce (mayo, ketchup, dressing) be sure to let them know up front. They have a large menu of good hoagies/sub sandwiches. Can't pick a winner in the local competition of cheese steak vendors, but Goomba's can hang with the competition. Some other reviewers mentioned the cheese steak tasted too salty or had too much garlic. Never really noticed that until I ate half for leftovers the next morning. It doesn't seem that way when you eat it freshly made and before the sauce has dried up and thickened. As leftovers is another story. Finish eating it when it's freshly made and you won't have that problem. Customer service seemed good to me. Like others have mentioned, there is no indoor seating and it's easy to overlook this place while driving down the street. They got an extensive menu. Loved the corned beef. read more

We ordered from here on Thursday night. We've been to s number of places in the Hatfield area, having just moved here...the pizza was really good! I liked that while it was thin crust, it wasn't paper thin. I like thicker dough at the crust, and this was spot on. They use the big pepperoni, which I am indifferent about. Next time though, I will ask for lighter sauce. Just a bit too much for my preference. I like to fold my slice and when I did that, sauce came out all over my lap. My fault, and it didn't bother me much. It was still flavorful. We ordered the Cajun wings and mild wings. They containers were not labeled, and I could barely tell the difference; I'm still not entirely sure if I ate my Cajun wings or my wife's mild wings. No matter though...they were pretty decent. We did not however, like the garlic knots. They were VERY salty, and we were not quite sure where the salt came from. My wife loves garlic knots, but we only ate 1/3 of them. There was a good 1/4" of liquid (oil/butter) in the bottom of the container. Just too much for me. All in all, I will definitely order from here again. This is hands down the best sandwich shop I've ever been to. The porcetta alla rabe was absolutely amazing. Everything from the porcetta and the sharp provolone mixed with the delicious broccoli rabe melded into an incredible sandwich all put between an amazing Philly roll. The chicken Sinatra, and actually anything on there menu is incredible. Next time you go in just take a look at the dozens of sandwiches that are sitting behind the counter waiting to be picked up by eager customers.
