I can't believe this was our first time eating here after years of visiting family in the area. Not only is the decor fun and vibrant, but the food is very authentic, fresh, and cooked perfectly. This place is BYOB, but they also offer complimentary margaritas which was a nice surprise. There was only one server the night we were there and while we did have to wait a while for our food, it came out hot and our drinks were refilled promptly. The chicken mole was AMAZING - so tender you could shred it with a fork. It was served with 4 tortillas (your choice of flour or corn), seasoned rice, and beans. We found this wonderful gem of a restaurant while running errands in the area. The inside is on the small side, but it is so cute. The staff is super friendly, and the food was amazing. We had the chicken street tacos and carne asada quesadillas. Both were delicious and were made with house made tortillas. We also had the complimentary margarita and ordered a yummy tres leches cake for dessert. We will definitely be back, as this restaurant is worth visiting. read more

I met a couple of friends here, it was my first time visiting. The ambiance was so nice, it's a beautiful decorated establishment. The complimentary margaritas were okay, I wasn't a fan, I'm glad it was free. Next time I will purchase one of their sodas. My friend ordered a sangria and she said it was good. They offered complimentary chips and salsa, which were delish. I ordered the chicken chimichanga and I loved the flour tortilla they fried it in, it was light and delicious. They did have corn tortilla options for some dishes. My friends ordered veggie chimichanga and veggie tacos. One was not a fan of the potatoes in her taco, but you can opt to not have potatoes. When I arrived, the restaurant was half full at about 1:00 on a Friday afternoon. This restaurant had been highly recommended, so I was excited to try it. I'm not in sync with the general reviews of this restaurant. The waiter was very friendly and accommodating. He arrived to greet me with a plate of chips and salsa. The chips were crunchy but not warm and the salsa was tasteless. I ordered an Enchilada combination of chicken, cheese and veggies, with a red sauce, black beans and rice and a Diet Coke. First off, I was delivered a regular Coke. Not a big deal, but not what I ordered. Unfortunately, it was a telltale sign. The entire meal was very bland. The red sauce tasted like canned tomato soup. It had no kick or spice. Unfortunately, it was poured over the Enchiladas, as expected, but which made the entire dish bland. The rice and beans were on a separate plate. They were cold. The positives are a friendly staff and fun atmosphere, but the food was at best, marginal. I was excited to have some vegan tacos that weren't just beans lettuce and onions, which is a common "make your own" option for vegans, but I was able to get tacos with a bunch of yummy veggies. I did have to add their salsa to them for flavor though as they lacked even sake, let alone other seasonings. But overall it was a lovely lunch for me and my kids. I love this place. It's artsy and pretty to look at all the decorations. Also it's very romantic and has a nice ambiance for date night. The food is delicious and the service is very good. We had really tender calamari. It was really good with fresh jalapeno. The complimentary chips and salsa were good. My boyfriend had chicken mole poblano, which was flavorful and the chicken was incredibly tender. I had calamari salad and it was refreshing. We ended the meal with a delicious tres leches cake. My wife and I had lunch here today December 20, 2019. Food was delicious and plated with culinary style. Our service was well paced for lunch time. To start we enjoyed the fresh chips and salsa as well as the complimentary Margaritas (this place is BYOB). For lunch I enjoyed the Carne Asada ala Mexicana and my wife enjoyed the carnitas tacos. I spoke with one of the owners and they recently opened--Thursday December 12. They did a great job refurbishing the place with a fresh I contemporary Mexican vibe. We are traveling and love to find an authentic old school Mexican Restaurant. Mi Mex is a wonderful surprise. Being from California we have experienced many incredible Mexican food restaurants. Mi Mex is up there at the top. We had the chicken burritos. So homemade tasting, not overly huge, served with rice and guacamole, pico de gallo salsa. A simple choice but the care that the ingredients taste like reminds of home cooking. Especially the way the chicken is prepared, with love. Their salsas are exceptional. Verde salsa not hot, fresh salsa delish, Roja salsa so yummy. We always say you can judge a Mexican food restaurant by their salsas. BYOB as no alcohol is served. The boss (my wife) had the steak fajita and I had the enchiladas (beef, chicken and cheese) with verde sauce. Our meal started with tortilla chips and pico. The chips were thick and crunchy - just how I like them. Our dishes came with yellow rice and black beans. The fajitas also came with guac and sour cream. The black beans were a little thick to my preference. The enchiladas were heavily covered with verde sauce and came with sour cream and cheese. The chicken enchilada was okay, but the beef one was really good and the cheese was good too. The steak fajitas were dope. The seasoning and how they were cooked was excellent. It had a hearty amount of veggies and 2 of the tortillas were filled with melted cheese (brilliant in my opinion). Overall, we had a terrific meal. If you like fajitas, I would strongly encourage you to get the steak fajitas. read more

Decided to stop here on Friday night for dinner (2/21/20). Not bad Mexi food for the Montco area. I don't have to venture into Ambler to one of my fave Taquieras. Tacos are $9 for 3. You can mix the flavors. I chose 2-al pastor and 1-chicken tinga. The al pastor was okayyy. I like my al pastor just a tad bit sweeter. Loved the chicken tinga. First time patrons (my mom and I). I discovered this establishment because I work for Doordash and was sent there to pickup a delivery order. I grabbed a menu and my mom said she wanted to try it. We are vegetarian and both got Veggie burritos and she got the house made guac and chips. The food was fresh, made delicious, and was well worth the money. When we ordered I have to admit I was skeptical at $17 per burrito plate but I highly recommend it and reassure anyone reading this that it is worth the money. I will return for sure.
