The Citron was a citrusy yuzu cheesecake with passion fruit lemon juice inside, leaking and bursting with tangy flavor! The cake was fluffy and decadent and melt in your mouth. The Cake was crunchy topped it matcha chocolate shell to smash it open. It was so much fun. The moose was so divine and light and airy it almost felt like a cloud in my mouth. At the bottom of it was crispy and crunchy pistachio kataifi, shredded toasted wheat dough, and so nutty and crispy combining with the cloudy mousse. 10/10!!! read more

We came right around opening and there were already quite a few people, but thankfully no line. Everything was still available, so we got the strawberry, mango, and lemon desserts, plus a box of ice cream. We tried the lemon one there - and it was really good! The center is super runny, though, so be careful because it can get messy fast The strawberry was definitely my favorite - such an interesting combination with a really bright strawberry flavor. The mango was good too, but I probably should have gone with a different fruit. The ice cream was honestly a 5/10 for me. You can find similar, or even better, ice cream at a dollar store, so I'd skip that The strawberry lemonade, on the other hand, was SO good! Not too sweet, with a nice tart flavor. I think perhaps the wave of social media hype may have temporarily overwhelmed the team, or maybe the new hires weren't trained long enough to put out consistent work. They seemed kind of confused. My Man Go: 2/10. A trompe l'œil pastry designed to look like a mango, filled with fresh mango, mango mousse, and sitting atop a hazelnut praline cookie. For starters, the chocolate shell was soft and lacked the crispness of properly tempered chocolate. Either that, or it had started melting due to improper temperature regulation in the case. The fresh mango was overripe and had no texture; the mousse was similarly made of overripe mango and was room temperature. The praline was not made properly, and had zero structure. I don't really understand how all of these things can be true when it appears as though the pastries are sitting in a refrigerated case. What a waste of mango. Interior was standard, no decorations. My friend and I got into LA the night before a concert and had some extra time, so we knew we absolutely had to make a stop at Tu Cha. We've seen all the viral fruit pastries online, and were so excited to try them. When we got in, we were able to see all of the options on display and they had a big menu telling you exactly what was in each one. You order off of a kiosk, which makes it incredibly easy to order. Almost all of our pastries were ready before we had even left the kiosk, which was great! I went with the mango and the peach, both of which were fantastic! The shortbread cookie underneath both was delicious, the mango mousse and filling tasted so fresh and amazing. The peach had an Earl Grey cream and fresh peach chunks as well. Both were in the classic white chocolate shell. These are so cute, fun to eat, very refreshing, and not overly sweet. The shop itself is adorable, plenty of seating, great decor and the staff was super friendly and very nice! I love the heart container. We bought almost all of every piece dessert except for two along with the ice cream bites. Needless to say, we were not impressed. Each pastry had the same lingering aftertaste which was odd, the fresh strawberry topping was old, the gelatin like texture did not complement the watery centers, and the outside chocolate shell had no flavor. Of course, if you like these details of texture, you may dig it! Just definitely not for me. The ice cream bites resemble a frozen yogurt like texture and although I appreciate the all natural fruit product, the flavors didn't quite come through. The space inside is small, clean, and cozy. We weren't really warmly welcomed but did receive a kind goodbye after we picked up our order and had tipped generously. I also got one of their strawberry candles, and a brown sugar milk tea with boba. Presentation wise, everything was gorgeous, from the decor, the ambiance, the pastries. Really classy and clean. The staff were super sweet and helpful. It was quiet and they had lots of options. So my honest review. They were ok. I feel like they are a bit overhyped. I was really hoping for a whip cream and jelly filling. That's what the videos on tik tok make it look like. I also really hoped for that crunch when you first bite into it. Wasn't as crunch worthy as the videos lol. So the pastries were ok, I just felt they lacked the sweetness I was hoping for. The lemon one was not as lemon cheesecake as I imagined although that cookie on the bottom, perfection. The inside of the lemon one spilled out everywhere. Very watery. The mango one was pretty good but if I want a mango I'm just going to get a mango. I was hoping more for a mango custard or cake. So not really my favorite. I give Tu Cha a 2.4/5. I saw this place randomly on google maps as a nearby cafe and was excited to try the cakes as they looked super cute. Unfortunately, I was a disappointed by the taste of the desserts. Parking was a little difficult as the location is under a residential complex. They have a nearby lot for free parking but the sign was so small, it was hard to notice until we were even at the store and saw the placard. We ended up parallel parking on the perpendicular street and walking to it. The store was quite busy for an afternoon and they had a good amount of seating spaces. We sat at one of them and requested the staff to clean the sticky table which happened quickly, which was nice. The interior was quite nice and modern. The digitial pos system made ordering easy. We ordered a variety of desserts and two drinks that amounted to around $60-70. It was pretty pricey and we understood the effort put into each dessert, but I wish the taste of the items also reflected the price point. The Bing chilling ice cream bites were pretty disappointing for $23. I had a slight expectation of them tasting natural and subtle but some of the ice creams were artifical tasting. The banana and peach especially tasted artifical and I did not like them. My tablemates thought the peach was okay. The strawberry one was my favorite but the others were alright or too artifical tasting. The smaller ones had too much chocolate to ice cream ratio (2:1). The devil fruit and the my man go cakes were alright. We knew there was a chocolate shell but everything overall was just way too much chocolate. Despite the gateau name, I wish there was actually cake in the dessert and not just all mousse and gelatin. There was just too much mousse and tart filling inside so the dessert tasted a little too gelatinous with the chocolate shell. Having some cake inside would've balanced things nicely so we thought the desserts were just alright. For ~$14 each dessert, I was left craving something better. The drinks were also alright. My friend thought the tiramisu latte was okay but my sister did not like the osmanthus oolong milk tea and thought it tasted watery. She expected it to taste more milky or tea-like for $7 a drink. I've been seeing so many reels for TuCha's beautiful fruit desserts that I had to get some to try. I ordered these for delivery so can't really speak to service or ambiance because I didn't want to drive all the way there. The desserts are very consistent from everything I've seen, both in terms of appearance and flavor. Other reviews have mentioned the amount of cream and while I feel like TuCha's have less than other bakeries' fruit pastries, it's still quite a bit of cream! The fruit flavor inside the mango and peach were so light, almost flavorless even for me (I don't like super sweet stuff). The best was the strawberry and pistachio because of the tartness of the strawberry jam. Didn't get a leaf with my Citron, did love the taste of the lemony "cheesecake" (no yuzu or cheesecake flavor) and the refreshing passionfruit filling though. I'd get these two again. The Dubai chocolate cake was okay. I wish there was more cake and pistachio kunafa and less mousse (about 50% of the cake) and the hard chocolate shell on top really didn't add much. Dubai cookie melt doesn't come warm but the cookie is slightly crunchy round the edges and super chewy, the perfect cookie for me. Also wish there was more pistachio kunafa cause I was trying hard to find some. Overall, they're novel and fun to eat but very messy and not all of the pastries are hits (for me). Also very pricey at $15+ per, the cake was like $22 or so, and the Dubai melt $28. Super fun to try! Plenty of street parking and they have a few tables inside for guests to sit down and enjoy. Service is quick, so you don't need to pay for that much time on your meter. Packaging is very friendly, so we were able to enjoy this in the car. Just Peachy was my favorite and the flavor combination works so well together. The center is an Earl Grey Tea filling with some fresh peach. Not too sweet, but packed with flavor. My Man Go and Berry3 were also good, simple, and on the sweeter end. Finally got to try this viral fruit mousse cake!! We went on a Saturday around 2PM and it wasn't crowded at all! There was no line so we were able to order right away and nothing was sold out yet (thank god!) i guess the hype died down a bit but it was so good i'm so hyped to bring others to go and try it with me again. We got the cakes fast since they're ready made and had to stand around abit to wait for seating. (Despite there being no line for ordering, there were people eating the fruits and i feel there could be more seating.) We ordered the mango, berry, and citron. The mango was a classic! It tasted the most balanced between sweet and tart for me. The citron was sour but might have been even sweeter than the mango because of the goey stuff inside! Finally the berry was the most tart and had a different flavor theme than the other two so eating it all together was abit funny but I still loved it! I would order them all again though! I've seen a few videos of these viral desserts and my friends and I decided to check it out! We were worried they would have a line or run out but it seems like the hype has died down. Love that they have a free parking lot (albeit it looks a little sketchy) that is a short walk from the store. Due to limited seating in the store you may have to take your desserts back to your car. I'd also consume as soon as possible. We tried the lemon, raspberry/strawberry and the mango at around $14.50 each. I personally liked the lemon the most but would not come back again because I don't think it's worth the price or the drive. We also tried their matcha tiramisu which didn't really taste like tiramisu and actually tasted like full on grass. This usually means its either a lower quality matcha, the powder is old, or the water was too hot and burned the matcha. I ordered a tiramisu latte and it was just OK and not worth the price to me. The signature Deserts were really pretty and I did like the taste. They always seem to sell out super quick so my alternative was trying the ice cream bites. It's definitely pricey but quick to get via kiosk. I did enjoy the bites but I wouldn't get again for the price. There's some tables inside but it doesn't seem like they're cleaned often since they were sticky. Boba and cake shop that went viral in LA. I happened to be nearby for dinner and realized I was close and my friend and I immediately dropped by. It was great that I coincidentally parked in their parking lot located about a block or so away. At first we were planning to get one cake each but realized it was super pricey. I ended up getting a drink and sharing the cake. The cake was good! Glad I was able to try it: not sure if it was worth $18 though... Finally tried Tu Cha this past weekend while they were doing a collab with The Crème Shop! I was initially worried they would run out by 5pm on Friday, so I called beforehand and confirmed that they had stock. Parking is a little tough in the area - I found metered street parking but it was a bit far. They do have a free parking lot but I must have missed it. You can order at the kiosks or with the staff. There is a good amount of seating as well as free wifi for those studying there. The staff member who helped me was nice. I ordered the peach and citron and got 2 full sized serums. I got my items to-go and was in and out of the store in 5 minutes. The pastries are cute but definitely pricey and small - 2 cakes costed close to $30. I didn't love the taste of the peach one, which had a white chocolate shell, mousse, and peach jam. The taste didn't feel super cohesive, and I wasn't sure what I was eating. The citron was much better but unfortunately it didn't last the drive home and cracked, so all the filling dripped out. The sauce tasted like passion fruit but wasn't too tart and not too sweet. Overall, desserts are aesthetic but given the price and size, I think it's hard to justify a return visit. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the cute sanrio collab items. read more

This seems to be popular trend. When you walk in you are greeted with a beautiful display case, aesthetically pleasing. All the seats were taken but you walk right up and put your order in using the kiosk. I will say these desserts are way more hyped up than what they really are. Yes they are about $14 each but if you try it one time at least you say you tried it. Please don't get these desserts thinking that they are some type of a cake pastry. This is not a cake Once you get past the hard shell it's more of a mousse consistency. And a lot of the flavors don't go well together. I ended up getting the peach and the strawberry. The strawberry had pistachio in it. And the peach had another flavor inside that I could not really put my finger on. I could be the only one, but these aren't worth the hype. read more
