Matcha strawberry einspanner really good and creamy You can taste the matcha but it blends beautifully w the strawberry puree and cream top.very crowded when we stopped by. Not enough tables and no one was wiping them down either so it was sticky. Accepted apple pay n cc with no additional surcharge. Drinks came out quick and parking was free.
We ordered the Damo latte - an espresso shot with agave sweetener and the Matcha cream top. The espresso flavor wasn't terribly strong and the matcha tasted alright to me There was a long line of customers and it's a pretty popular Korean drink shop in Koreatown!

I stopped by DAMO and ordered a matcha latte. The matcha had a vibrant, earthy flavor that was stronger than most matcha places I've been to. I appreciated the quality of the tea, and the matcha powder and cream on top was not too overly sweet. My friend and I were able to enjoy our drinks inside the shop, as there were plenty of tables available for people to chat with friends or study or work inside.
Visited this spot on a Wednesday at noon and they constantly had a flow of customers coming in and out. There's only a handful of tables and chairs with some stool seating against the front window. Ordered a matcha latte and I kind of regret not adding the cream foam after, but it was already a $7 cup of matcha. Upon mixing and tasting it left a bitter aftertaste so I didn't really enjoy it. I added two packs of raw sugar to try and alter it but I probably should have asked for sweetener or cream top because it still left a bitter aftertaste. Service was lackluster, not warm and friendly, but pretty straightforward. I was able to snag a parking spot in the lot but it wasn't plentiful as the plaza is busy shared with the salt bread shop.
My new favorite spot for decadent matcha and hojicha drinks! The cream top on the hojicha einspanner was so creamy and thick, and it was also the perfect level of sweetness. The strawberry matcha einspanner was also yummy and had a great presentation The space is pretty small but there are a few seats available. The line was around 20 minutes long on a Saturday afternoon. Like most spots in ktown, the parking lot is limited and you'll likely need to find street parking, but it is definitely worth the hype!
This was our last stop of our mini cafe tour when leaving LA and headed back home. We came shortly after opening, so there was plenty of parking and it wasn't crazy crowded yet. Upon entering the place is clean, sleek, and modern. We were greeted right away. I already knew I was leaving with 2 drinks for the drive back home. I ordered: 1. Cold brew vanilla: Delicious, I love that tou can see the vanilla cream on top. This was definitely what I needed to wake me up. 2. Matcha einspener: I tasted this and immediately loved it when leaving the store. I saved it for last. It was so light and refreshing. I could easily drink it all day if they had a bigger size lol. I was hoping to try the seasonal mango cream matcha, but sadly it was gone. 3. Pastries: I wanted to try the sampler but I don't thinking they had it yet. I tried one of the cinnamon pastries. It was soft and very cinnamony. Overall, it was a great experience and I'll be back soon.
I'm not a fans for matcha but this place is different. Their matcha is extra and how they make it, it came out perfectly. Easy yes to switch to matcha team because of DAMO. Parking is difficult. Walking in, almost everyone was holding boxes of pastry from other place. Next time, I'll try the house waffle too. Friendly service and they are very organized and quick.
This is the best matcha I've had in a long time. And that's saying a lot, because I've had matcha everywhere. Earthy, rich, and not too sweet with an equally not too sweet foam to top off the drink was my Damo Hojicha latte. I rarely want to drink more when I've finished my matcha drink but this wasn't the case with my Damo drink. It's really delicious and I didn't want my experience to end. I might have to visit once more before heading home!

Great spot for mochi desserts and matcha. The quality is solid, and the service was excellent. The shop has about 8 tables, plenty of outlets, free Wi-Fi, and a very bright interior. It's quite popular, so there are always people coming in and out. Because of that, I would describe it as having more of a social vibe than a study vibe. I would definitely recommend trying the mochi dessert and matcha. The mochi was the highlight for me, while the matcha was good but not exceptional. While I enjoyed my visit, I probably wouldn't come back specifically to study due to the busy atmosphere. Ratings * Matcha: 3.8/5 * Mochi: 4/5 * Vibes: 3/5
DAMO has been on my list for a year since I last visited LA, and let me just say it was worth the wait! When my friend and I stopped by, I realized DAMO is located in a plaza I used to frequent for I Love Boba and what used to be Potions & Poisons when I lived in LA back in the early 2020s. After reviewing the menu, my friend ordered the hojicha einspänner since we'd already had one matcha earlier in the day. I ordered the strawberry matcha latte with oat milk, which is typically a safe choice. The cashier seemed to have misheard my name and order because when our drinks were ready, the receipt slip displayed my name incorrectly as "Jane", and my drink was prepared einspänner style even though I requested just a regular strawberry matcha latte. Fortunately, the barista was super nice and understanding and offered to remake my drink on the spot. Since all the tables and counter chairs were taken, we sat on the bench near the front of the café to sip our drinks, which were very good and definitely above average. Really happy I got the chance to try this place finally.
Stopped by Damo on a Saturday afternoon and the line was about 10 minutes which honestly wasn't bad at all for a weekend. Got the strawberry matcha einspanner with oat milk and it was really good -- the strawberry and matcha balance each other out well and the oat milk was a solid call with it. Only problem is the parking, mainly gotta street park as the plaza has very limited parking. However the inside was clean and there's always some parking nearby.

I went to Damo around 2pm on a weekend, and the line was already starting to form out the door. Unfortunately, the line takes up a majority of the cafe space, along with the few sitting tables, so it was pretty difficult to find a spot to wait for my drink after ordering. The pickup area can also get blocked by the line or waiting area, which can make it a little awkward when you're trying to reach over someone to grab your drink. I ordered the Coconut Hojicha and the Matcha Einspanner. The Coconut Hojicha was refreshing, nutty, and definitely the standout of the two. It's such a fun twist on the typical matcha coconut drink, and I have to give Damo their flowers for creating something that feels unique. The Matcha Einspanner wasn't particularly stand-out compared to some of the other cafes in K-Town, but it was still a well-balanced drink with a nice mix of bitterness, sweetness, and creaminess. I can definitely see why so many people consider Damo one of their favorite cafes. Despite the crowded setup, the drinks are creative and thoughtfully done! read more
Absolutely obsessed with the Hojicha Coconut! This drink is DIVINE, so refreshing, creamy, and delicious. I could literally drink 10 of these! It's definitely a must-try, and I already can't wait to come back for another one. The cakes were just okay for me. I'd probably pass on them next time if I'm just getting something for myself, but they would make a cute gift or present for someone! read more
Solid matcha place in ktown!! There's so many places around and it's a saturated market so I get the competition... but this place holds its own! Matcha is rich and bold, there's a good amount so it's not weak. Milk ratio is good so it's not diluted at all. The cream top is nice and thick and doesn't melt into the drink! Matcha Cream Top ($7.75)-- I looooove me a nice and thick cream top and this place does it amazingly. It's thick and perfectly sweetened and doesn't melt with the drink/ice. It stays perfectly thick and still and above the matcha unless you mix it in. The matcha is also really nice and rich. None of the bland or grassy taste. Just genuine good matcha! Chocolate Forest ($7.75)-- Basically same as above but the cream on top tastes like Milo/Ovaltine mixed in. It's a nice and sweet nostalgic taste. Not a hint of bitterness so if you want mocha/dark chocolate this is not the one for you. It's more happy kid hot chocolate vibes. Overall I really like this place for their matcha and would get it again. Pricing is steep but all good matcha goes for around $8 nowadays. Theres a shared parking lot (free if you go in the afternoon) but otherwise street parking. read more

Came to check it out while I was in the area. All the pastries were sold out by 11am and the drinks were way too full of ice! I finished my beverage in seconds, and was disappointed by the amount of coffee I got for the price! Overpriced! read more
I don't often get matcha, but when I do... I make sure that it's somewhere good. DAMO had really good reviews, so here I am! Parking here may be difficult to find on the street, but they do have valet, too. On a Saturday afternoon, this spot is packed and quite hard to find a place to sit. Wi-Fi is available, though note that plugs and seating may be another issue. Not every spot comes with a plug, and it's going to be full, so you may need to wait 15-20 minutes. It is indeed a small spot, so if you're looking for a quiet spot to work, this might not be it. The interior decor, though, is quite clean aesthetically and is relaxing to work in. The Matcha Latte, though, let me say if you're in need of an afternoon pick-me-up, this will keep you energized, even without the sugar! A few sips in and a half cup later, I had so much energy I could probably run a marathon if I had the right shoes (and I don't even like running). read more

The chocolate forest was okay, didn't like how they gave me the splotchy cold foam and the next customer that was served right after me got the perfect looking one. I didn't feel like causing a hassle to remake because I'm just gonna drink and stir anyway but, since it was my first time here I wanted at least a nice drink picture oh well I left wondering how they would have handled it if I had asked them to remake it lol Parking was easy for me to find on the street, on a Wednesday around 12. The lot itself is very small and one way but if you're lucky it's free parking. Inside is pretty spacious, it's cute modern, nice. read more
Yummy drinks and really cute aesthetic. Their matcha latte is quite creamy even with almond milk! They also have Korean desserts sampler to pair with your teas. The place gets quite crowded too but they have a few seats along the wall. I would come back! read more

Did the OOO--Damo hop like many others, definitely worth it, and was great to drink with some of the sweet salt breads. Most good quality matchas start tasting about the same to me in latte form, but the real standout at Damo is what you get for $7-8. Many other cafes will give you a fraction of the matcha here, and if you want a double or triple shot, enjoy that $14 matcha! The matchas are hand whisked to order which means the line is a bit slow but it's worth the wait. My latte was perfectly grassy and milky with a little bit of sweetener and that einspanner got inhaled. read more
Our LA Adventure day lead us here for the last stop of our day.. We wanted to try a bunch of matcha places today and get super caffienated! I wish this was our first matcha spot since their matcha was an einspanner style and it was more earthy than the others we tried. It's tasty and I see why people like it but this is way more matcha tasting and earthy. Traditional flavor with sweetness. Small parking lot and small shop. Matcha wasn't that good and neither was my latte. They weren't friendly at all and didn't feel very welcomed there either. The minimalistic decor was cool but I wouldn't go back there again. I also got two pastries that looked like little loafs but they were super dense and hard. Don't recommend. read more
Strawberry matcha 5/5 - I enjoyed their strawberry matcha. The matcha has good flavor and I can tell they use a good quality matcha. The strawberry wasn't overpowering but added a nice refreshing sweetness to the matcha. We came on a Friday morning so it was not busy and lots of free parking in the lot read more
Very popular tea house in ktown. Ordered the 'Sunday Brunch' which is a drink under their cold brew tea offerings. Was expecting a high quality drink considering the price point of $7.25 Tasted like a drink from Starbucks but with inflated prices. Cup was filled to the brim with ice. Literally 80% was ice. Damo is one of my favorite cafes in LA, and definitely has a special place in my heart because it's where I discovered hojicha! Their hojicha is so nutty, creamy, and balanced. It's not too sweet but just enough that it brings out the hojicha's flavor. I've also tried their matcha, which I think is equally as delicious. You can tell Damo uses good quality hojicha and matcha, which is why I keep coming back. The cafe is also super aesthetic and if it weren't so busy, I imagine it would be a decent place to study. It's is located in a small plaza so parking can be difficult during more busy hours, but I've never struggled too much and normally find parking within 10 minutes. Highly recommend for anyone visiting LA or anyone who hasn't tried hojicha yet. Theirs is life-changing! read more
I visited Damo in Koreatown this afternoon and tried the Strawberry Einspänner. It was a bit on the sweet side, but overall delicious. However, I was quite disappointed by the lack of decaf options. I am very sensitive to caffeine, so while I enjoy regular coffee in the morning, I always have to stick to decaf in the afternoon. When I asked which menu items could be made decaf, I was told that none of their coffee or matcha drinks have a decaf option. The only decaf-friendly choices available were the Strawberry Einspänner and the Strawberry Tonic. Because of this, I'll only be able to visit this spot in the morning if I want coffee. It's a bit inconvenient for someone like me who needs decaf options later in the day. read more
The first time I noticed Damo, there was line of people wrapped around the corner waiting to get in. I walked up to find out what was the commotion, only to find out that everyone was waiting in line to get matcha! I didn't wait in line and left but vowing to come back next time. Fast forward to my first visit. I got there fairly early in the morning because I was making a trek to the nearby Zion Market. No line and the store was practically empty. The store is very clean with a minimalist design. After placing my order for the matcha latte, I stood there excitedly waiting while my matcha was being whisked away by the friendly barista. After taking my first sip I was like DAMN! Now I know why all those folks were waiting in line. The earthy flavor of the matcha seamlessly melded with the creaminess of the milk. The hint of sweetness gently peeks through as the smoothness hits your tongue. Their matcha is top grade... it tastes like fresh greens and cream. If I had to nitpick, I'd probably wish the cup was bigger. You have to try it to understand. They have another location near DTLA. I'll be sure to try that location when I'm nearby the area. read more
DAMO is one of the OG matcha hotspots in Ktown and continues to stay consistent. This spot is located in a plaza with a decent amount of parking spots. Inside, they have a modern interior with about 6-7 tables for seating. For their menu, they have a nice selection of different matcha, coffee, and tea drinks to choose from. I got the Chocolate Forest and it had a nice balance and depth of flavor. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. There is a reason why this spot has over 1,000+ positive reviews! read more
Nice clean aesthetic with several tables and bar stools to enjoy your drinks! Went on a weekday around noon, and the line was from the register to the door roughly but it moved pretty fast. The menu is only posted near the register I believe. I got the hojicha einspanner, and there was a really strong hojicha flavor! It was really creamy and smooth and would totally come back to try more drinks! read more
