I have never had a day of pain or discomfort or lack of functionality (apart from initial period after each surgery). Dr. Gorab is amazing. I found him warm and engaging. He has done surgery for several of my friends, both hips and knees, and without exception my friends have reported that he is the ultimate surgeon. I had a right hip replacement with him this week, and I have osteoporosis so I needed a particularly skilled surgeon. I followed all of his advice prior to surgery and it went perfectly. I honestly have almost no pain, and he has been very attentive, and focused on my care. Importantly, I saw him for five years leading up to the surgery, and always got the time and care I needed and what I'd expect from a world class surgeon - it was always obvious I'd need the surgery, just waiting for the right time for me. Great experience at Hoag Ortho Irvine. Dr. Gorab and staff are awesome. Left hip replaced at 10AM, walking out at 5PM.

If I could give this man ( I won't even call him a doctor) zero stars I would. He is horrible, bedside manner is crap, I was referred to him because I need a partial knee replacement on the outside of my knee and my doctors are not familiar with it. Gorab was one of two that were in the area, I'm telling you now if you are referred to him run the other way!!! He came in almost pissed because of my age (I'm 37) even though I was referred because of my special case. I'm bone on bone with no right meniscus and osteoarthritic from a ten year old dislocation. But instead of looking at any of that he was was just irritated like I was wasting his time, I don't think he even looked at my mri. He talked over and down to my wife before making me lay down on the bed before slamming my legs down and completely abusing my leg. I literally jumped off the bed and practically screamed that we were leaving. His response was ok and he promptly left. He basically assaulted me. Oh yeah needless to say he's not lgbt friendly. I'm looking into more drastic action than just this review btw read more

he did my right hip replacement in 2005. i have been having pain for a couple of years and had an x ray done. all is ok with the joint. however, today 3/21/19, i got an mri(no results yet). i will find out if a tendon my be loose in there when the results are in. he did my left knee replacement in about '13. it is ok. he did my left hip replacement in about '15. i am not happy. he told me the replacement is his development. it doesn't match my right (as a pair). my hip sticks out like a woman's hip and i am embarassed at the gym. if you get both hips done, demand stryker for both. my right knee was done by paul beck and is fine. read more

My left hip was replaced in 2007, and my right knee was replaced 2015, by Dr. Gorab. My Right hip was replaced in 2016. by Dr.Steven L. Bennett. My Right shoulder was repaired by Dr. P Fischer in a 3 hour procedure, to attach ligaments that were torn. I also was treated by Dr. Michael Shepard who removed the extreme knee pain with injections, before surgery. Also Dr. Michael L Danto, who helped take away pain in my lower back, for a nerve injury. I was seen, before and after surgery, and so was my wife, by Ms. Susanne L Porter, PA. My wife Paget A. had her right knee replaced 2016, by Dr. Gorab. If there is a better group of Orthopedic surgeons, I do not know were I would find them. I think you would have to search high and wide, to beat this group of medical professionals. Of course we paid extra for the some surgery and were happy to do so. I am 81 yrs old, I have seen my share of people still limping years after a joint replacement. i would like to start off by saying i was bone on bone and needed to have a right leg knee replacement and my insurance said a dr. gorab was approved by my insurance....now i met with him 5 minutes...he gave me the green book from hell...its a book which told me what to do example: make all my appts b4 my surgery..i had to get a ultrasound on my heart 14 days b4 surgery..and i needed to check for mersa 6 days and get bloodwork done 10 days b4 surgery and the list of what i had to do myself b4 my surgery...which i completed ...the next appt. was to meet with suzy porter...she gave me what i needed b4 surgery ....the next talk with gorab was the morning of my surgery around 630 am he walked up to me (with his little black biking shorts which he looked ridiculous and he looked so fat in them) he walked up to me and said u r going to be in sooo much pain....really...i wanted to run but i did not know where my clothes where ...b4 surgery he also wrote in my paperwork the i was morbaly obese...really he must not b looking at himself much cause hes fat ...the nerve..hes got the crapiest and terrible bedside manner...we talked once for 5 minutes boy oh boy for him to claim hes professional....hes a bully and his uglinest shows the moment he opens his fat mouth. he wrote stuff in my folder that was unfair...and he will b meeting my lawyer soon...by the way i lost 100lbs and that last time i met with him my knee still hot...which i called and left messages saying its still hot this was 6 mos. he claims he doesnt know why..and never did he say wow u lost 100 lbs...he said nothing about my weight nothing... but he had no problem telling me i was fat. please anyone who is getting a surgery with dr. gorab...in irvine please reconsider your appt. im sooo serious about anyone being in the pain i was in i cried myself to sleep 4 months and yesterday was one year..knee.still hot and hurts and he could care less...im even willing to talk with someone about your upcoming knee or hip replacement with this monster ... .at this point i would love to see him lose his license ..he does not care about anything or anyone ...all he cares about is money !! well enough of doging this little man!! to his future patients please cancel and run. by the way there's a great knee and hip replacement doctors in los alimitos thanks for reading my story!! read more

I recently had Left Hip Replacement by Dr. Gorab. Surgery was performed at Hoag Orthopedic Institute in Irvine. At the time of surgery I was bone on Bone so I was in a ton of pain. I am now 4 months after surgery and am back to all of my activities, biking, swimming, yoga and tennis. Dr. Gorab is a fabulous surgeon. I followed all of the requirements before and after surgery. I was a little reluctant to use Dr. Gorab as the reviews complained about his dry personality. He was very professional on my first visit, but he took plenty of time to explain the surgery and my prognosis. His PA-Suzy Porter is super nice. She was always there when I needed a question answered or help w medication schedule. After surgery Dr. Gorab came up to my room and was really pleased with how the surgery went. He was really nice actually. Oh and I didn't have to spend the night in hospital, I went home the same afternoon. I have a friend have the same surgery a couple of weeks before me and she has the same high opinion of Dr. Gorab, with great results. read more
