MY STANDARDS....ALL people's standards! His ego was bruised for me saying I've NEVER waited almost an hour to see a doctor at Hoag. From the start of me seeing this doctor he was so less ...no patience,no explanation of what I was going through and didn't let me see my xray but for 2 seconds and just said I needed ibuprofen until hip replacement surgery. Well that's been about 4 years and my hip is fine. If you see this doctor I'd DEFINITELY would get a second opinion!!!! His ego is bigger than his helping people...seems in it for the $$$$ read more

I had a TLHR with Dr. Nassif on 12/3/19. I actually went to him just for a second opinion to confirm the diagnosis of another very well known orthopedic surgeon in OC. I was so incredibly impressed by Dr. Nassif that I left the other orthopedic group and transferred to Dr. Nassif. At our office visit he was on time, he came in and sat down with an actual pad and paper and asked me to tell him what was happening with me. He took notes, asked questions, then observed me walking, did an actual physical and visual exam before he looked at my xrays and MRI. To say that this experience was completely different than my experience with my first orthopedic surgeon would be a complete understatement. Dr. Nassif scheduled my surgery, answered all of my questions and made me feel safe and secure in the process. Once surgery was scheduled his office has an entire detailed protocol and program for pre and post op care. My surgery was done at HOI and was outpatient. I was terrified having never had any type of surgery or serious medical issues. The entire process and team at HOI were absolutely amazing! I had a spinal with sedation and felt amazing when I woke up and walked right away. My recovery was very easy, I was off of prescription pain meds in a couple of days. I had almost no bruising, and I know from my research it was because of Dr. Nassif's skill. Again all of the preparation from his office and the portal provided guidance and education post op. This doctor was rude, angry, and told me I just have to live in pain. (After the initial doctor recommended TKR.) I have hEDS and had my right knee replaced 4 years ago (thankfully) I was puzzled by his inhumane treatment, until I remembered Lynette (my daughter whose life was destroyed by Dr. Venuto when she was 16. She continually voiced her situation, until she took her life at 18 (04/14:2014) I continued to honor the pain she endured in 2015. The information I shared was gleaned by traveling the country and being told by respected Surgeons Dr. Ralph Venuto destroyed her knee by severing her lateral ligament. And we made it clear to him we opposed this procedure prior to surgery. The "icing on the cake" is this surgeon reported I am a "drug addict" - which is absurd. Dec 27, 2023, I became half bionic, on March 21 Dr. Nassif completed my transition from human to bionic. With two hip replacements, I went from being in a wheelchair for six months to now walking, some thing most people don't understand until losing your ability to walk. For me, I broke both my legs when I was 18 in a motorcycle wreck, and had to learn to walk because in 1977, I sat in traction in a hospital for four weeks. Moving forward, I was up and around immediately and pretty pain-free. I have a tremendous amount of respect for doctor Nassif and his staff who are very professional, informative, welcoming and happy. When I met Dr. Nassif , I knew that things were going to be great, that he was intelligent and talented for he has a great haircut, bald, for a minute I thought he was my twin. Dr. Nassif did a fantastic job on my bi-lateral hip (both hips at once) replacement. Funny thing, I thought it was my knees that were the problem and I was sent to several other physicians until finally I was sent to Dr. Nassif. I told Dr. Nassif that my problem was my knees and he said I was mistaken and that the real problem was my hips and that the pain I was feeling in my knees was referred pain. I argued with Dr. Nassif but he wouldn't budge on the hips being the problem. Finally, I got tired of arguing and agreed to the double hip replacement thinking to myself that once that was done I could say "Aha, I was right it was my knees." BTW, my condition was so bad that if I walked across the room it sounded literally like a cartoon skeleton walking with the bones all rubbing. To make a long story short, I had the double hip operation and the pain in my knees was gone!! Dr. Nassif was 100% correct and I was 100% wrong. It's been a little over a year since my operation and I've fled great ever since the operation. I'd send anyone to Dr. Nassif. This guy is great!!! read more

I have just last week had a total hip replacement done by DR Nader Nassif. I'm am so impressed with the level of care. With his knowledge and his education. His staff is friendly and approachable . I was extremely impressed with all the staff at the hospital. The anesthesiologist was amazing. The nursing staff so kind. My recovery is going well . They use an app called THE GET WELL LOOP. 2 weeks ago I accompanied my wife for a consultation on a revision for her existing TKR We discussed her situation and the doctor told us in less than 5 minutes he could not help us, which we understand what we do not understand is that he sent in his nurse requesting several tests be taken My wife thought maybe he was going to reconsider his stance. So after spending almost a $1,000 on these tests the results came in , we waited expecting a call , but I'm not shocked he did not call he sent a note to her primary physician that he would not operate. Unfortunately I'm sure he's a good surgeon but ethically He failed miserably My advice find a surgeon who talks to you not down to you and or does not respond at all This is the only time I have given feedback on a medical professional , It really left a bad taste in my mouth read more

I had my left hip replaced about 2.5 weeks ago with the anterior approach. I had my right hip replaced in 2010 in another state, a different doctor and different approach and my experiences were like night and day. My first replacement had a great outcome. The recovery was very painful and longer than I expected. This time with the anterior approach, I have been walking with no assistance since 4-5 days after surgery with mild pain. Dr. Nassif was aware of my concerns and went out of his way, without being pushy, to assure me of a better outcome and I am very, very happy I finally had the surgery. He and his staff were very kind, knowledgeable and helpful before, during and after my surgery. When I first went to Newport Orthopedic I had my sore knee evaluated and immediately the xray showed a knee replacement was necessary. I waited another year before I actually felt bad enough to need the surgery. Once I met with Dr. Nassif, I somehow felt at ease and decided to follow the directions given for exercises prior to surgery this is very important. I had the surgery August 2018 and immediately was walking on the new knee in the hospital. The direction of the staff at Hoag Orthopedic Hospital and Newport Orthopedic got me into physical therapy immediately and in two weeks I was given clearance to return to work. My new knee is great and it's unbelievable. This is a patient/doctor/hospital collaboration that is so important to achieve a fantastic result. on September 2015 I made an appointment as self pay patient for the first time with Dr. Nassif, they told me charges are $180-280!!! when I went to my appointment while doing paper work a woman shouting that this place looks like a medicate office "not a Newport beach " one! soon thereafter I felt the same way, staff were cold and unfriendly, they offered no help for any questions after a while with all the crowd sitting in waiting room I felt there is shortness of air and started to having anxiety, there were no sits available , it took 2 hours for them to take me to the back, I sat for 1/2 hour before Doctor arrived and during this time no one came to explain the delay,being happy to see the doctor after 21/2 hours did not last too long his staff came to pull him out of the room before I was explained fully about everything he left and gave me a card for some administer to help me with insurance approval. I left her a message to find out if she has got me file and is working on it? a stateshe never called back! a week later I called she picked up the phone and called herself some kind of CEO that is above everyone! she promised to work on it and as of yet toward mid-October she has not called yet!!!! I was charged at the end of visit $280.00 which was the maximum I was told on the phone and today I received a statement for $100.00 extera!!!!!!!!!!! so you figure !!!! i am not sure about Dr. Nassif's skills but his organization needs to be redone :( read more

I have a tumor the size of a pink grapefruit that has been found in my leg/Pelvis area..Cedars-Sinai in LA Dr. couldn't even view all the different MRI's I've had in 4 months..The Dr proceeded to examine me and traced out a 11X7 area in my glut telling me "Ah yes! Here it is!"...I asked are you sure??? he stated for sure. took measurements, etc.....Discussions of biopsy, Chemo/Radiation etc...15 min face time TOTAL with the Dr when I was expecting 45-1 hr...I left a little concerned to say the least....Enter my actual first choice based on Health Grade reviews, but actually 2nd opinion for the day Dr Nassif 4 hours later...Office is slammed...I fill out my paperwork and wait about 15-20 min in lobby...go back to exam and assistant comes in and grabs all films from me...It did take about 30 min to be seen but I had MASSIVE data that had to be uploaded so that's fine...Dr Nassif comes in, interviews me, goes over ALL FILMS and talks with me for at least 45 min- 1hr answering all questions i had, including some pretty direct ones i a very patient manner...He not only corrects a location on where I already had correctly thought this tumor was reviewing my films, but we discussed treatments recommended,(Biopsy, possible surgery) but he has amazing news that in his opinion AT THIS TIME, I have nothing to worry about, BUT, after what I experienced at Cedars scaring me, he'd be happy to do the Biopsy to put my mind at ease...We will of course discuss surgery or any other options after that as needed......What a difference from a supposedly world renown cancer center that not only couldn't view my films, spent 15 min with me with something like cancer on the table, but couldn't even get the location right...IT WAS ON THE ENTIRE OTHER SIDE OF THE LEG!!!....LOL....Who does that?!?!?!....anyways, I'm getting the biopsy done with Nassif(Obviously)...I don't really have any experience with office staff, scheduling, etc yet, but I'll update this review if its not fantastic...As for Dr. Nassif, so far nothing like some complaints I see on here so I needed to write a review for him. read more

Dr. Nassif did my total knee surgery in early March. During my post op visits he has been very interested in my recovery, very attentive, strict with his expectations that I complete my goals. He has such a pleasant demeanor and has never seemed rushed or distracted. For all this he deserves five stars. The office uses Health Loop which is a great communication device. I was able to ask questions, have concerns addressed, and always promptly. Dr. Nassif even called me to discuss my concerns. The office staff is very welcoming, friendly and efficient, so I also give them five stars. I would definitely choose Dr. Nassif again for future ortho surgery, although I hope not to need it!
