Oh how we love Gorditas! Everything is good. I love the beef street tacos, but it's all good. My kids love the enchiladas. The queso is always really tasty too. They serve green and red sauce with chips; the green is spicy. Service was great! The restaurant was crowded but our drinks were filled, and we were taken care of well.

This medican restaurant is on the seawall. We came for brekkie on Saturday and the place was pretty busy with lots of customers today. Even with the music playing it still wasn't overly noisy. Our server, Victoria, was pleasant and friendly. The chips were warm and the salsas were fantastic. We would come back just for those. We had breakfast tacos and burrito. Both were delicious. We will definitely be back.

First time first experience. Located on seawall heading to East beach. Parking was a challenge (good indicator for me). We parked along the seawall 2$/hour (across street). Atmosphere: warm welcome with smile by waitressing. Restaurant ambience is awesome. Clay coffee cups, day of dead decor, etc. Menu: was challenging. Many choices but all looked so good. Also had a Vegan separate menu (Not for me!! lol) Prices were also reasonable. Service: On observation its base on teamwork. You have a main waitress. But I noticed all waitress ask tables if they need help or they take your meal to you. Had great service! Food: I ordered nachos with grilled chicken (not normal nachos-ballpark like). I had plate where nachos where fried to lay flat, cheese grilled on to, guacamole and the grilled chicken. I was like "Okay". My GF lifted 1 nacho and guess what? There was refried beans were amazing and tasted homemade on the bottom of plate as a bed of goodness. Sooooo delicious! The jalapeño were great also. The chicken was grilled and juicy. My GF ordered Hurarache Azteca. She loved it. The fajitas were tender and juicy. The huaraches were fluffy with air pockets. Also the Aqua Fresca was fresh and good. The Atole champurrado was very good and worth getting. Overall: This is a hidden gem even though it's on the seawall. Yes go. You won't be disappointed. This will be our Togo place in Galveston.

The ceviche was NOT good :(. Everything we ordered (shrimp tacos, shrimp ceviche, horchata) were all mediocre, except the fish tacos! The fish tacos were pretty good. At least their chips and green sauce were yummy, their salsa was not. I really wouldn't go here again, unfortunately.

Located directly across the the Gulf of Mexico on the Galveston Seawall. Excellent location, really delicious food was very surprised. A clean, calm, restaurant the staff was very friendly and helpful. The service was outstanding and fast, the waitress went out of her way to ensure our order was placed correctly. I ordered carnitas tacos, very tender tasty meat served on a homemade flour tortilla. There were kid menu options, my children were very satisfied with their meals. A great experience ov

A true local gem. We have loved Gordita's for years. Extensive authentic menu with tortas, sopes, gorditas, huaraches, as well as plates, tacos, enchiladas and more. Brush up on your Spanish because most of the servers are Spanish speaking. They are so nice, fast and efficient service. It has a hole in the wall vibe, like sitting in my best friend's mom's kitchen when I was a kid. The red salsa is warm and delicious. The green salsa has a kick so beware if you're used to green sauce from Tex-Mex places. Affordable food with a casual gulf view!

Real authentic Mexican food. Nothing TexMex here. I've been here many times for breakfast lunch and dinner and the food is always delicious. Amazing cook/s. The service is great with different waiters checking in on you at all times. My go to meal is the tostada ceviche mixto.

I appreciate any restaurant that puts forth the effort to have a vegan menu. That said, Gorditas fell miserably short of my expectations. Bland. That's the best word for everything. Just bland. The vegan gorditas had absolutely no flavor. The salsa was watery and had no flavor. The best thing I had were the homemade tortillas. I would not return here.

Why 5 stars? Because this might be my new favorite restaurant in Galveston…read more --- --- --- We had been in Galveston for a couple of days, and while we had some solid meals, we were feeling kind of gross and overstuffed. Fish Company Taco proved to be like finding water in the desert. A lot of Galveston eateries are very similar, in that there's an ample amount of fried seafood on the menu, which is not exactly what you're looking for when you're in the bloated, but wanting to eat *something* state that we were in. My thought was: fish tacos are relatively light and we can walk there from our hotel - how do you beat that? What I didn't realize is that this place probably belongs more in the Heights than Galveston. And I mean that in a good way. The menu is very hipster-coded. And the food matches with hipster quality. It's hard to say what my favorite item even was. The one thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the fish dip - it was just okay. Everything else ranged from good to great. We tried... The burger: FYI, it's more like a double stacked slider than a burger, but delicious. 3 Tacos: Dirty South, Empire and Korean Flavors. I really liked the empire and the korean flavors, but thought the dirty south had a little too much going on with the pimento cheese and chips. Sticky Shrimp: I don't even know how to describe this, but it was delicious. I thought it as more like bang bang shrimp, but it was more fried that I expected. But not hardcore fried - they almost had the airy texture of fried pork skins, but were much tastier. Chili marinated Cucumbers and corn ribs: Simple, refreshing and addicting. But I liked the cucumbers a bit more. They also had some fresh juices and we enjoyed both the mango and the coconut lime concoctions. An easy 5-stars for me and a place I will definitely recommend to anyone visiting Galveston.

The food was decent, but the service was good. I tried the Captain Johnny it was crispy and…read moresatisfying, especially with a side of fries. The Vietnamese taco stood out the most for me, while the Baja and Korean flavors were just okay, not really my favorites. Overall, it's a chill spot with a relaxed vibe and not too crowded. I'd recommend coming during happy hour to get the best experience.
