We came here for cruise and had some extra time, so we looked for the nearest Tex Mex restaurant and landed on this one! What a great find! The money we walked in, the ladies working were so kind and welcoming and sat us right away. They brought out complimentary chips and salsa that were fantastic and we ordered pretty immediate. We got the carne guisada, breakfast burritos, and the pork chop. Everything came out super fast and fresh! I couldn't stop eating all the sauce from the guisada, it was so delicious. Wow...such a special find. The food, service are amazing. I had mole enchiladas and was very pleased. Service was fast and always with a smile. The only negative was the AC. They have a long AC duct running down the middle of the dinning room. If you sit at a table under it you're freezing and it will make your food cold. I moved my table away from it as it was too cold to sit under. I witnessed two different groups of ladies try to find a table away from the cold air and not being able to find one both groups left. I would recommend management address this issue so they can utilize the entire dinning area. I will definitely return for the great food and service. I have been eating Tex-Mex food before we knew it was Tex-Mex food and Aceituno's on Broadway in Galveston is as good as I have ever eaten at a reasonable price. The staff is very friendly, the restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated with a great view of the Moody Mansion. Gotta try this new hot spot! There's a parking lot but the restaurant was very busy so it was packed. Thankfully there's also street parking available. The restaurant was completely full so our service was lacking, but it was busy and I'm sure they're short staffed. Our chips didn't get refilled and it took over 45 minutes to get our lunch. Now to the food! We got the lunch combos to try a little bit of everything and we're so glad we did because it was delicious! The shredded chicken is so delicious & seasoned to perfection. The tacos weren't drenched in juice so they stay assembled while you eat them. I highly recommend the lunch combo!!! Our rice & beans were not hot (rice was hard) but again, they were super busy during lunch and short staffed. The enchiladas were tasty! I liked that they didn't put a bunch of the sauce on the plate and make a mess. It was just the enchilada. The tortillas were fantastic!!! Soooo soft and tasty. Wow! Our first visit here - and we'll be back! WONDERFUL fresh, hot well prepared Mexican food. We were here for lunch and had the #1 Combo (crispy beef taco, chicken chalupa, and one cheese & onion enchilada and the three-enchiladas plate (one of each: beef, cheese, chicken). We ordered two of their huge homemade piping hot flour tortillas and also requested their screaming hot but tasty salsa verde. Their red house salsa is also very good. Excellent refried beans and light fluffy Mexican rice. Very decently priced - generous serving sizes and friendly polite service. A 10/10! read more

We walked in and weren't greeted but isn't a big deal to me but we didn't know if we had to seat ourselves or we if we had to wait for someone since we are not local. Food was tasty and server was nice. My mom ordered the Edna special and I ordered the chilaquiles. Husband ordered the barbacoa plate. My biggest critic is that the food portions are disappointing. For example- chilaquiles should take up the majority portion of the plate but it was served as a side, the same with the barbacoa. My daughter had the kids breakfast and the scrambled eggs were so small, she was left wanting more food. Again, food wasn't too bad. I'd give it a 6/10 but the portions were small and did not make the plate itself, therefore we left pretty hungry still. We've eaten at a lot of Mexican places, but never where they give you the main dish as a side. Other than that, service was good, just need to work on their portions to match their prices. read more

Been waiting to try this place out, we like to give new restaurants a few months to get everything running smooth and consistent. We went on a Friday at noon and there was no wait. Server greeted us promptly and let us pick our table, took our drink order and returned withing a minute with our cokes. We order the enchiladas suizas and the chile rellano. Both dishes were served very hot from the kitchen. The rellano was excellent, great flavor, and not greasy, my husband enjoyed his enchiladas. Chips and salsa were delicious as well and the chips are a little thicker than I normally like but these I really enjoyed. Our bill was $33 with a 20% tip. Came to celebrate the New Years on the island and told ourselves we wanted to stick to local businesses only to support. Our Air BnB was half a mile from this spot so we decided to check it out. It's a small cozy spot so you get spotted immediately when you walk in, it still took us a while to get greeted and get menus. Then our drink order was finally taken and some time had passed before our food order was placed. We entered the establishment at 11:13am, we left at 12:11pm and never received our meals. When we walked to the counter to pay for our drinks and told them we weren't waiting any longer, the server had the audacity to say that the "order was placed at 11:30 and it had only been 25 minutes" ummmm basic math is a 41 minute wait for breakfast. And that is unacceptable, also wasn't counting the time we waited to place our order! After wasting an hour and never getting our food my husband and I paid for our orange juice and left. We ended up at the Sunflower bakery and cafe and everything from the service to food was amazing. read more

We finally tried Aceituno's on Broadway at 27th. Open from 6 am until 2:30 in the afternoon so get their early. Clean and bright. About 15 four tops that can be combined. The table next to us was having breakfast and it looked great but I had to try to chicken mole enchiladas. My wife went for the tacos Al Carbon so we were able to try both chicken and beef fajitas. Let's start at the top... Great chips and a red sauce that had a great, fresh tomato flavor. There is also a green, jalapeño salsa that kicks up the heat. I would have been happy about either salsa but to serve both is great Mole was fantastic, dark and smoky. Beef and chicken fajitas were both great and had beautifully grilled onions. Charro/borracho beans were great with a little cilantro. Guacamole and pico were both spot on. No liquor license but I did see a permit application in the window. Entrees in the $12 range. Burritos for less than $5. Nice addition to the neighborhood. read more

Checking out the new kid on the block. Cute, clean and fast service. Our server was nice and polite and our service was quick with two other tables filled. My chicharones verdes were BLAZING FIRE HOTTT. I was crying and coughing so if your a light weight don't get the green sauce. The corn tortillas were thick and hearty just the way I like them. The fried potatoes and beans were typical. The thing with Mexican restaurants is that they are basically sell the same food. So there has to be some thing that sets them apart some thing that will draw you back to that restaurant. Granted it is my first visit but I couldn't think of a reason to come back, but I'll visit again. I am a huge coffee fan so they left a lot to be desired. Coffee was lukewarm and weak as heck. They also served milk and not cream so that's a small negative in my opinion. My husband ordered the huevos rancheros that were served over easy on a tortilla. He enjoyed his meal and he is a habanero eater and he thought the green sauce was excessively hot as well. With a few minor details changed we will be back. read more
