Mole Enchiladas
Mike C.

Wow...such a special find. The food, service are amazing. I had mole enchiladas and was very pleased. Service was fast and always with a smile. The only negative was the AC. They have a long AC duct running down the middle of the dinning room. If you sit at a table under it you're freezing and it will make your food cold. I moved my table away from it as it was too cold to sit under. I witnessed two different groups of ladies try to find a table away from the cold air and not being able to find one both groups left. I would recommend management address this issue so they can utilize the entire dinning area. I will definitely return for the great food and service. Btw the restrooms are very clean and nice...which is always a plus.

this was my lunch and it was very tasty!

The food was very delicious crisp fresh wonderful! The service was very good. Also, they came quickly to take our order brought it quickly and checked to see if we needed anything in between the ambience was nice. It was Christmasy. They had a Santa Claus and a Christmas tree. It was very nice. We will definitely go back there.

Food excellent yummy great flavor both of us had had #1 tacos stood up no falling apart enchiladas the best and rice normally Not a fan but chalupa chicken omg flavor train-great sauces ask for the x hot sauce1-big a-- burritos also Will e back !!

Chips & salsa were great!

Gotta try this new hot spot! There's a parking lot but the restaurant was very busy so it was packed. Thankfully there's also street parking available. The restaurant was completely full so our service was lacking, but it was busy and I'm sure they're short staffed. Our chips didn't get refilled and it took over 45 minutes to get our lunch. Now to the food! We got the lunch combos to try a little bit of everything and we're so glad we did because it was delicious! The shredded chicken is so delicious & seasoned to perfection. The tacos weren't drenched in juice so they stay assembled while you eat them. I highly recommend the lunch combo!!! Our rice & beans were not hot (rice was hard) but again, they were super busy during lunch and short staffed. The enchiladas were tasty! I liked that they didn't put a bunch of the sauce on the plate and make a mess. It was just the enchilada. The tortillas were fantastic!!! Soooo soft and tasty. They brought a super hot green sauce with the food. You've been warned - it's spicy! Haha The food is delicious! Cute decor. Super clean bathrooms. We will be back & you should def check it out!

Mexican food at its best. This little place is fantastic. I cannot beat the prices or the quality of the food. It is immaculate. Everyone there is very friendly, and when they recommend what to eat, make sure you take it you will not regret it.

Huevos divorciados

Open at 6 am on a Sunday! I got a veggie and egg burrito, the wife had a beautiful plate of huevos divorciados. Great service, strong wifi and delicious coffee. We'll be back for certain.

Great food, great service! Food was very good and fast service. Great prices also! we had the Edna and it was good! The plantains were soft but a little crispy and all and all we loved it! We will be back!

Edna special

We walked in and weren't greeted but isn't a big deal to me but we didn't know if we had to seat ourselves or we if we had to wait for someone since we are not local. Food was tasty and server was nice. My mom ordered the Edna special and I ordered the chilaquiles. Husband ordered the barbacoa plate. My biggest critic is that the food portions are disappointing. For example- chilaquiles should take up the majority portion of the plate but it was served as a side, the same with the barbacoa. My daughter had the kids breakfast and the scrambled eggs were so small, she was left wanting more food. Again, food wasn't too bad. I'd give it a 6/10 but the portions were small and did not make the plate itself, therefore we left pretty hungry still. We've eaten at a lot of Mexican places, but never where they give you the main dish as a side. Other than that, service was good, just need to work on their portions to match their prices.

I've been looking for a burrito replacement (since mi Abuelitas closed) and this was pretty close to it! Loved their island burrito, yummy tortilla & everything inside had a great flavor! Great price for a lot of food. Cute inside area too, window seats are always nice. Staff is very kind! This is a must try place! Look forward to coming back.

Cutting across Texas to New Orleans, I knew we would be skimming the shore of the Gulf of Mexico…read more Shut up. My review, I can call it what I want. That being said, it had been some time since I've gotten some proper fish-n-chips. I had to remedy that. Especially since the BBQ fiasco the other day, I was going to go on a hunger strike, but once I made the sign, I got potato chip fingers on it and started to eat it. So, I decided to fight fire with fire, and figured I would eat myself happy again. Which I'm never mad about. Sometimes I make myself angry just so I can eat myself happy. And now, the rest of the story. I have learned that I enjoy Cod fish for my fish-n-chips. And I think also Haddock. I am not a fisher nor a fish. So it's hard for me to say. But I know Cod is one for sure. I also sometimes have baby mouth and am afraid of new things. I do know I love my fish battered and deep fried. I also know that Shark Shack had good reviews for their fish, so, that was all I needed to hear. Plus, it was a perfect little eatery with bar seating, table seating, and gifts! So you can bet your bottom dollar tomorrow I ordered the English fish-n-chips. Boy oh boy. Just like how Britain colonized all those countries back when it was the cool thing to do, these fish and chips colonized my taste buds. Respectfully. This plate came with FIVE logs of fish. FIVE! Maybe they were tubes of fish? Honestly, I don't care what shape they came in, they looked perfectly crunchy and perfectly brown and perfectly fish. The super cool extra bonus? These fish came with CRISPIES! I've only ever seen crisps with fish from Long John Silvers, whose fish is probably as far from Cod or Haddock as legally possible. I actually think one of my pieces of fish from there had shoelaces. Didn't matter. Still ate it. Respectfully. (If you aren't privileged enough to know what fish crispies are, there little batter pieces that fry or fall off the fish as they cook. Basically little crumblies. If you make a wish over a fork of them and get the forkful in your mouth without dropping any, your wish will come true). Homemade tartar sauce was good, but there was a certain flavor profile that I wasn't a fan of. It was still good to use on the fish rods, it just tasted a little too much out of the tartar sauce field for me. The meal was wrapped up nice and tight with lovely square-cut fries. Perfect doneness. Perfect Ketchup vessel. I could just stare at a pile of them all night. Mostly because I'm weird. I decided to lean more toward the 4-star side, so here we are. While in Galveston for a quick weekend getaway, we wanted to go out for dinner. Katie's was my first choice, but the wait was too long, so I pulled up Yelp to see what else was recommended. Shark Shack had great reviews, and when we arrived there was zero wait, so we went for it. The one area where I docked a star was the service. We were seated immediately but waited quite a while for our server to appear, and then even longer to get our drinks. I was so excited for a margarita, but when it arrived in a plastic cup, I was immediately disappointed. Plastic cups are for the beach and nightclubs, not a restaurant with a bar. And that's not where the awful drink experience ended -- it was so weak and just not good at all. Our server seemed so disinterested in everything: taking our order, answering questions, and when it came time to pay, we had to wait ages to see him and wave him down. The food was decent with no major complaints. It wasn't "blow your mind" amazing, but it was good. The owner -- well, I assume he was the owner -- came and spoke to us when he found out my husband was military, and he was really nice, friendly, and very supportive of the military community, offering a very generous military discount. That definitely raises the rating and is much appreciated, so thank you. Overall, the big fixes for me would be the service and the drink situation. I can't say we would rush to come back just because we love Katie's for the service, food, and drinks..

After reading multiple reviews and comparing it to other local seafood restaurants in Galveston, we knew we had to go. We were seated with my Service dog, no problem. Mike immediately came and delivered water. It was hot outside. The decor is inviting and the bar area looked well stocked. We began with cocktails xtra Dirty Martini with hand stuffed blue cheese olives and for my husband a Maker's Mark bourbon . This gave us time to look over this incredible menu! Seafood is what we came for so we ordered 2 sharable items: soy, ginger octopus on crispy wonton and roasted beat walnut and fried goat cheese salad. We could have stopped there completely wowed. Both if us love Texas Redfish and it's so hard to get fresh seafood where we live so that caught our eyes. Husband ordered blackened and redfish over mushroom risotto and French style green beans. I could not resist a similar item blackened redfish over mushroom risotto and asparagus. We both were over the moon with the meaty blackened redfish FLAVORS! Risotto was perfectly cooked al dente and both veg choices were the perfect accompaniment! Honestly it had been a ling time since we had such a beautiful meal. Service was outstanding and he even picked up on a comment by my husband encouraging me to order whatever I wanted given it was a birthday dinner. So I was completely delighted when Mike showed up with the final surprise a Creamy NY style cheesecake. So I guess what I'm trying to say is this place was outstanding. You could not go wrong with a decision to have a great experience and upscale seafood meal at BLVD SEAFOOD.

Lots of good options on the menu, and I was craving their famous cinnamon roll pancakes, but then a server brought out migas to a table and I immediately knew I wanted that instead. Here, it's a little opposite from most places, you gotta pick your seat first then order as the seats, especially the tables, are hard to come by at times. There are plenty stools along the window but the tables are better and most tables are family style so you'll likely be meeting someone new. I also added a chocolate bread pudding for myself which looked really good. The rest of my group ordered the granny's breakfast with sausage, 2 scrambled eggs and Benny's tostadas. The food comes out surprisingly quick for as busy as they are. Everything was so delicious! I ate a little of the bread pudding at the restaurant, then eventually ate the rest over the course of the next few hours. Yum! This restaurant is highly recommended!

After you finally order you get to try and find one of their dirty tables to sit at then wait way too long for terrible food. The food could not be more terrible, this is what they call biscuits and gravy and it tasted as bad as it looks, I think the best way to describe the color of the gravy is orange, which is weird. I had one bite of the biscuit and gravy and it was so bad that the stray cat that jumped on our table did not even want it, but it could have also been because of all the flies because the little fly fan at our table did not work but it also might have been from the constant smell from the sewer drain located right in the seating area. My wife had a chicken bagel egg sandwich- not good....all our food went in the trash. This is not a restaurant it is a disaster, do not believe the positive reviews.

Birthday dinner at Gonzalo's! I can cheerfully report that we had the usual excellent food,…read moreservice, and ambiance this evening. We, like many other diners, ate outside - the window for eating al fresco is narrow so we do it while we comfortably can. We were tempted to get Roman artichokes for our appetizer knowing how delicious they are, but instead we ventured out and got the calamari puttanesca. Good decision? Absolutely! The squid was tender, the capers lent delightful brininess to the intense-in-a-good-way San Marzano tomato sauce. The only thing that would have improved the dish is if we'd had the smarts to order bread with it to sop everything up. Next time, next time... Dan being Dan had to have Greek salad. We shared it and I must say that I really appreciate their approach to this ubiquitous offering. It has feta, but its presence is not heavy handed. Don't get me wrong - I adore feta but sometimes it overtakes a salad. There were Persian cucumbers, small yellow tomatoes, thinly sliced onions, very fresh, crisp lettuce, and no pepperoncini! Now you might think the absence of peppers would be a bad thing but I beg to differ. Too often restaurants use them and they turn out to be tough and woody. For the record, of all brands we've bought, DeLallo is consistently the best. For mains, because I am just about incapable of not getting it, I got the boscaiola. If you haven't had it, get it! It's a stunningly well balanced dish of pappardelle, mushrooms, and confit chicken. It is perfection in a bowl. Dan got the rigatoni alla vodka with confit chicken. The rigatoni entree is what we saw on Facebook some time back that made both of us think that we really, really needed to give Gonzalo's a try. Pro move, y'all, pro move! Drinks: old fashioned for me and a whiskey sour for Dan and glasses of Pinot grigio. Did we have room for dessert? No, and that made me a little sad. But we'll be back! Dan has a birthday coming up...
